  • LSMW for hiring is not picking the next pernr

    Hello Friends,
I have prepared an LSMW for hiring via PA40 and for the same i have created an action type with just 4 ITs in it.
the problem is it is working fine for single employee but whn i try to test it for a sequence of employee then it is throwing error.
The old pernr is saved and system is not able to take the new pernr in sequence. I have also tried to default 0000000 as pernr in recording but still the same issue.
I am unable to run this LSMW and i have almost 150 employees data to upload.
    Please suggest.

Does your recording have the pernr field pre-populated?
    Keep this field blank.

I want to FaceTime with a friend in Japan.  Can I just call her through my contacts list the same way I would call my friend who live next door to me?

    Short Answer: Yes
When they set up facetime, they either used an apple ID, or (for iphone only) their phone number.  You call using one of them.  An apple id linked email address in my opinion is simpler, as you don't need to worry about country codes and the like.  (I have never tried to facetime anyone out of the country, so I will admit I am not sure what you do about country codes.)
These articles are a little dated, but should help you set up your or your friends facetime if you need to.

    - Make sure the mic hole is clear and unobstructed. It is the little hole on the back by the camera lens(if has back camera). For the 16 GB one without the back camera the mic hole is on the top edge near the center.

  • Neighbors have DSL, not available to me, right next door

Im trying to get DSL, its been 3 years and first time i received the modem 3 years ago on the activation date they couldnt activate it for whatever reason. Now my neighbors have had DSL for nearly a year, and their right next door, in a TWIN building, (2 families) so what is this nonesense? why cant i get it as well. i checked my and neighbors adress on the availability check and both are unavailable...the support seems to follow the same "availability" database as well, what can i do from here

We had the same exact problem.  It was a nightmare.  Our neighbor in front of us had it, and when I ordered it, they kept canceling the order saying we didn't qualify, that we were too far away from the box.  This went on for a couple of months until a new house was built  to the right of ours and Verizon came and temporarily ran THEIR phone line from our house using our extra line.  When I talked to the neighbor, she said they had DSL.  Well that made exactly no sense since technically they were **bleep**her from the box than we were since their line ran from our house to theirs.  Long story short, I called Verizon and asked to speak to a supervisor.  I had that supervisor give me a LOCAL contact at the Verizon office a few miles from the house.  After making a few more calls I got a call back from a local sales rep who apologized and said she would send out our modem overnight no charge and  have a tech at my house the very next day.  We've had DSL ever since.  Up to this point I could not get them to even send me a modem because some automatic system would get my order, identify us as too far away to qualify, and automatically cancel the order.  Call customer service and demand to speak to a supervisor and then  have that supervisor give you a number at a local office.  Keep calling until you get someone who will listen to what you have to say.  If you really want it, you can get it, it is just a pain in the [edit].  Good luck.

  • Best Buy has Zero iPhone4s but the AT&T store NEXT DOOR has 80 (with more arriving!)

Best Buy in Mount Laurel, NJ (1400 Nixon Drive) has ZERO iPhone 4s as of 6 PM on 6/28. Despite preordering on the 15th and I am still waiting with no word on when my phone will be in.
So I call the AT&T store that is located NEXT DOOR @ 1420 Nixon Drive. I mean it is literally right next door in the strip mall. I'm told that they received 80 phones today and are expecting a shipment of 60 to 80 MORE phones tomorrow. The rep told me that they will have extra phone for walk-ins, but it's going to be first come-first served, etc.
    I mean, C'MON! It's like a bad joke.
I've heard the arguement "it's not us, it's Apple" from Best Buy, but I guess I'm not clear on why Best Buy seems to have no leverage to get their pre-orders expedited.
Heck, I don't understand why Best Buy can't, at minimum, get a straight answer from Apple about where/when Best Buy will be getting replenishment stock.
As a customer, I don't care who's "fault" it is - in my opinion, it's Best Buy's fault. Obviously, there's no universal shortage of iPhone 4s when the AT&T store is getting extras and Best Buy can't fullfill it's preorders from the 15th.
IMO, the problem is that Best Buy must have a pretty weak relationship with Apple to be treated this way. As a small business owner, if one of my suppliers was jerking me around like this, I'd sever the relationship. (Sure, I know this is more complex, but the principle is that Best Buy has a bunch of angry customers due to Apple's lack of support. That's a BAD business relationship, when your partners force you to lose crediblilty with customers).
I'll never pre-order from Best Buy again. But you can blame Apple for that ...

It simply amazes me that Best Buy continues to point fingers away from themselves.  I understand the RS situation.  They've never been what I'd consider an outlet for this type of situation.  While sad, RS's ineptitude doesn't surprise me.  Best Buy's does.
That tells me there are more fundamental problems with Best Buy.  They either don't have a good relationship with their vendors (in this case, Apple).  Or, they really don't have a handle on inventory and shipping basics.  Maybe, as has been suggested, there's something amiss with employees taking the customer pre-orders and putting their family and friends in front of them.  Still, this has happened at seemingly every Best Buy store.  That tells me the problems with Best Buy are very widespread.
As I posted before, I just walked into an AT&T store yesterday and bought a 32GB iPhone 4, no reservations.  Others have reported doing the same.  AT&T probably has fewer stores than Best Buy.  And, from what I can tell, have smaller iPhone stock than Best Buy.  Yet, they handled it much better.
All pre-orders were filled first.  Then, walk-ups were allowed to buy.  No employees were allowed to buy them, under any circumstance, for anyone, until the customers were taken care of first.  Simple concept.  Apparently, too simple for Best Buy to understand.

  • Mid-process Receive (onEvent) is not picking up published event

We have a composite (CompositeA), which has 2 BPEL processes (bpelprocess1 and bpelprocess2). bpelprocess1 is synchronous and bpelprocess2 is a one-way. bpelprocess1 receives a message from the client - then sends the message using a one-way Invoke action to bpelprocess2 - bpelprocess2 transforms the message and assigns some values - then sends the message to Event1 through an Invoke action - bpelprocess1 has a Receive activity waiting for an event from Event1 - then it will send the message back to the client as the Reply. Everything works up to the point where the bpelprocess1 Receive(onEvent) activity is waiting for an event, it sits in this "Pending" state until the SyncMaxWaitTime value has expired and then we get a timeout error (see below).
"Waiting for response has timed out. The conversation id is null. Please check the process instance for detail."
So our question is, why does the Receive(onEvent) in bpelprocess1 never pick up the published event? We've run some additional tests to ensure the event is being published, and that has been confirmed.
Is it possible to receive an event that was published during the current instance of the process (i.e., since bpelprocess1 invoked bpelprocess2 which invoked the Event1 publish, can bpelprocess1 perform a mid-process Receive of the event that was just published?
Please let us know if this makes sense or if you have any additional questions.
On a side note, if we create an independent mediator component in the same composite and have it subscribe to Event1 as well, then just write the message out to a file. It would not pick up the message from the EDN in the scenario described above, if we set the property nonBlockingInvoke=true or bpel.config.transaction=requiresNew on the bpelprocess2 partnerlink from bpelprocess1, the Mediator would get the message from the EDN, but bpelprocess1 still timed out waiting for the event. If we setup another BPEL process (bpelprocess3) in the same composite (though not linked to bpelprocess1 and bpelprocess2) and it has a mid-process receive onEvent listening for Event1, it does not pick up the published event either, so seems to be an issue with the mid-process receive onEvent in the synchronous BPEL process.
    Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the reply, but there is no issue with the one-way from bpel1 to bpel2, we do not expect nor want a response from bpel2, it should just publish the event and complete. The bpel1 should continue it's flow (which it does) and the next action is a Receive action listening for an event (that was published by bpel2), but the Receive never finds the event.
Here's a less complex use case:
    1. bpelprocess1 is a synchronous process which publishes to Event1 (this completes successful and returns a success message to the client)
    2. bpelprocess2 is an asynchronous process which has a mid-process Receive action that is listening for Event1
    3. bpelprocess3 is a process which is initiated by Event 1
If we execute bpelprocess2 it will set at the mid-process Receive action in a PENDING state, waiting for Event1 to occur.
If we then execute bpelprocess1 the Event1 is published and we receive a "SUCCESS" response back.
At this point bpelprocess3 is initiated (b/c it's initial Receive is triggered by Event1)
We would also expect the mid-process Receive in bpelprocess2, which is in a PENDING state to trigger, but it never does.
Hopefully this use case makes more sense.

  • Visited the house next door. Got kicked out when I offered a gift

I'm not the first and  I won't be the last.  I just got lured into it. Others have described this problem online in much less temperate language than I intend to use.
I am Applescripting away in InDesign, minding my own business, when it strikes me that I can simplify a rather tedious workflow involving images.
So I end up getting Photoshop to open an image I've got the lowdown on from InDesign. It's the first time I've opened the Photoshop Applescript dictionary and I am delighted to discover I can do all sorts of cool things. My script ends up prepping an image for editing in Photoshop.
Then I have the bright idea of writing a second script starting in Photoshop after the edit, doing the housekeeping, saving a copy of the image in a Hi Res images folder, closing the original without saving (it's a Jpeg workflow ) and getting the Finder to hide it in a Done folder, then returning to InDesign to re-link the image to the processed one in the High Res folder.
Finish writing it and then discover that to enter the kingdom of heaven that is Photoshop's Scripts folder, it has to be JavaScript. Applescript not
    welcome.
I've nothing against JavaSceipt, except that I haven't learned it. In fact this has prompted me to download the demo of BBedit and some docs on the language.
It's just that hating to waste some hours of labour, I was wondering if my first JavaScript could be to launch my Applescript. Thus I could get into the Photoshop Scripts folder in disguise and assign a hotkey to it.
Is it possible I could do that with a JavaScript, or are there any other solutions... which don't require expenditure? I am doing this for a company that is tightening its belt so often that it squeaks when it speaks.

Thanks, Shane, I have FastScripts on my laptop. It's version 2.31. I will probably have to fork out another fifteen bucks to get up to version 4, which I see is the current one. If it were just for me it would be the ideal solution, but there's no way I could persuade the company to get it for multiple machines. They have the USBs locked against pen drives, for goodness sake.
However, I have slept on the matter and am about to go all Mills and Boon (publishers of romantic fiction).
Did I say house next door? It's a luxuriously-appointed mansion in which I have spent many a joyous hour ... so long as I'm wearing my User hat.
But when I put on my Scripter hat and approach the servants' quarters, the normally genial butler, Jeeves, goes all red in the face, like a traffic light, and bars my way. I think he suspects me of harbouring dishonourable intentions towards Minnie, the charming chambermaid.
And I can't deny there's... electricity .... between us.  Love must have its way and I have a devious plan.
I could approach Jeeves and address him courteously in impeccable Javascript: "Good evening, Jeeves, set your foreground colour to green for a change!" then turn and call out to my ally, Indy, saying: "It's time to do my Applescript now!"
Since I have been using both the InDesign and Photoshop dictionaries in single Applescripts, surely it would be possible for a Javascript to do the same? I'm going to give it a try.
Will I get to marry Minnie and make lots of beautiful babies or will Jeeves produce a cosh and flatten me?
Any tips or snippets from experienced Javascripters for a total Javascript ignoramus will be gratefully received!

  • Suggestion for not picking up the same record

    Hi All,
I have a plsql procedure that picks up the records from the same table from multiple threads. Different threads should not pick up the same record.
    Current Logic:
I am locking the row that has been picked up the current thread and the next thread should pick up the next row but unfortunately i have a problem here, The inner query will pick up the same record until the status of that particular row is changed since I am picking them up in a FIFO order.
I am not able to add the lock row in the inner query since oracle does not support it. Is there any other way to do it simpler?

    XXRM_ARM_LINES

    AND dh.service_id = 4
    ORDER BY dl.line_id ASC)
    WHERE ROWNUM = 1)
FOR UPDATE OF dl.status NOWAIT SKIP LOCKED

    Robert Angel wrote:
forgive me if I am naive, but why wouldn't each thread updating its selected rows with a nowait and if exception pick the next range mechanism work?It is not that simple. You can get race conditions between threads as they process the same rows in the same order attempting to "beat" one another by being the first to lock it. The more threads there are, the potentially worse this situation.
There's also the issue of performance. The thread concept (aka parallel processing) in this respect has a single primary aim. Increase performance and scalability. But does it?
How is I/O reduced when 50% or more of the reads done by the thread (to find a row to process) is wasted I/O as rows being read have already been locked by other processes/threads?
The fact remains that if you give the same set of rows to a bunch of threads (e.g. DBMS_JOB processes) for processing, they will contend for the same rows. There will be overheads. There will be wasted I/O.
So what I am suggesting is each thread; -
    1. Look for rows unprocessed, I usually use atribute field in e-Business suite for this purpose
    2. Attempt to update them with nowait, to INPROCESS
    3. If 2 fails, try the next range - repeat until 2 is possible or end of rangeAnd step 3 is the one that will waste I/O and waste time - as the time it spend looking for a row to process could have been spend on actually processing a row.
    4. You could also improve this by specialising each thread to have its own preferences, if there exists a mechanism that would mean fair distribution between the threads..Yes, and this is a key factor to removing contention between threads, reducing their I/O overheads and reducing their time being spend on finding unprocessed rows to lock and process.
Then there's Oracle technical issues. On 11gr2 for example, despite using skip locked or nowait (that cannot be used together in a single clause like in 10g), I'm seeing deadlocks when threads contend for the same rows. Same code works fine in 10g without deadlocks. So the approach one chooses need careful testing on that specific Oracle version to ensure it behaves as expected and meets the performance requirements.
Bottom line is that parallel processing is not as straight forward as simply slapping a nowait clause onto a select statement in order to skip locked rows.
