ABAP program to list Data Dictionary objects referenced in custom program

I want an uitlity program that will list all ( Custom and standard) data dictionary objects referenced to declare variables in custom ABAP program. Is there any standard program available in SAP to meet this requirements?
This is required to create a separate transport requests only with data dictiornay objects.
Thanks in advance for your help

Sunil

Hi
You can try the FM AKB_WHERE_USED_LIST.

  • Download & Upload Data Dictionary objects

    Hi,
Like we have utilities for downloading and uploading ABAP Reports, SAP Scripts & Dynpros; does anybody have some tool to download data dictionary objects from one system and uploading it onto another??
Else we would have to use transports from source to destination - which is my fallback option.
Any pointers to such tools would be highly appreciated.

    Hi Raghunadh,
The data dictionary objects will be in the repository itself if activated. If the data dictionary objects was created by user and if it is not activated. In this scenarion the data dictionary object can be seen in object navigator. Please check the transaction SE80 and SE81.
    Hope your query resolves.

The program used to create this object is acrobat. that program is either not installed or its nor responding.
to edit this object, install Acrobat or ensure that any dialog boxes in Acrobat are closed.
I have just installed acrobat Pro XI . when inserting an existing adove file as an object this happens. any ideas?

OLE Embedded Objects seem to have problems with PDF files.   I am not sure if it's OLE or if it's the OLE server (Acrobat/Reader) installed on the machine in this case.  Does this file work on another machine with Acrobat/Reader installed.

  • How to call BOR object- method in custom program

    hi all,
    I have the following details:
    BOR object : INSTLN
    Method: createdirect
I need to call the above method in my custom program.
I need to call it entirely. Means if it contains fn modules I dont want to call those fn modules seperately.

    Hi Sammy,
Phil Soady from SAP Australia provided me with this little gem a few years back. The actual documentation for this can be found somewhere in the workflow programming area, but I just looked and couldn't find it for you. Anyway, this is a sample program I built to show how to do this. In this example I call the Display method of the Sales Document BO.

  • Report to check authorization object used in customized programs

    Hi Guys,
An auditor came and he raised a question to us, he asked whether all of our customized transactions and programs are maintained with authorization checks? The question is how can we check what authorization objects are used for our customized programs and transaction codes? The developer did not maintain the objects used for that program in SU24 table. Is there a program or a report to show us all the authorization object used for a customised program or transaction? Example : T-code MIGO we can check in SU24 table for all the authorization object used. How do we check for customized tcodes? Please advise. Thanks!
Edited by: Jarod Tan on Nov 25, 2010 9:42 AM

Note that some programs are built in such a way that no (visible) auth check is necessary, or even desired at all.
To determine the necessity of an auth check, you should check that starting it has an entry point (tcode, rfc, service) which is appropriately restricted. The rest (whether and where and how a further check is evaluated) is entirely dependent to what the program actually does.
Well designed applications generally have centralized functions and methods, and the checks are in there or a "base check" they use.
Others again use the same in UI programming to determine the visibility of functions, to make the application more intuitive for the user. This on it's own is however not a sufficient auth check to rely on.
Code review is an art form!

Finding Information About User Privileges and Roles
This section discusses the system views that have the grant information.
The tricky part of this is that because roles can be granted to other roles the data is hierarchical.
    So start with the grants made to the FDIREADR role. So referring to the doc above;
select * from role_role_privs where role = 'FDIREADR'will list the roles granted to your role.
You will want to look at ROLE_ROLE_PRIVS, ROLE_TAB_PRIVS and ROLE_SYS_PRIVS.
I suggest you walk thru the views manually to see how the information is related. Then write a test script that queries the views for you.

  • Open conversions in data dictionary

    Dear experts,
We have been trying to install an ST-PI package in an SAP system. However,it gives a warning saying "Open conversions in data dictionary". It says - Some open conversion requests still exists for the following ABAP data dictionary objects. To avoid inconsistencies and data losses you must process these conversions first.
Further it asks us to run the transaction SE14 which points towards the table GLPCA and says Index Z1 does not exist.
What can be the cause behind this?I do not have an ABAP background. So,hoping if you could help me out.

  • Create data dictionary to check version of DB

    Hi all,
    Good afternoon.
Today I work at a company that develops software to several customers, and we are not the main responsible for there databases, because of this I can't garantee that the database is in agreement with the software version.
To be able to ensure that the client base has no divergence with the software version I'm thinking about creating my own data dictionary, which at first it would be something like the Oracle data dictionary, after that I need to set up mechanisms to confront my new data dictionary with what is there on the client. My data dictionary will be created here in the company.
In addition, this data dictionary also would be used by the development team, for example whenever they want to confirm if some object exists or not exists in production. As we know the development database is a 'mess'.
Does anyone have any suggestion or hint for me about this project?
    Thank you,
    Everson

    Everson Piza wrote:
Hi Justin, I fully agree with you.
Today I use the DBA_OBJECTS in order to check some specifics objects, but the application has more then 1800 objects, and I need to check everything.
The idea isn't to install this new data dictionary in the each customer's database, we'll centralize it here. At the first moment it will be used only for docummentation and check if everything is ok, the application will not use it.
My main doubt is how to confronte my data dictionary with the customer's database?I'm afraid I don't follow. What do you mean by "confronte"? My first guess is that you meant "confront" but that doesn't make sense in this sentence. I can't think of another word that is spelled similarly that would make sense.
I don't understand how you could centralize the data dictionary in your database and then use that to do any sort of check on a customer's database. Unless every customer has a database link back to your database, which would seem quite unusual.
I also guess I don't understand what problem you're trying to solve. Your application has 1800 objects, but that list is, presumably, known in advance. I don't see what building a data dictionary would accomplish. If you are just trying to validate that all 1800 objects exist, couldn't you just generate the script from the Oracle data dictionary in your known good database and send that to the customer?

data Dictionary objects can be seen in Transaction SPDD where as all other objects can be see in SPAU Transaction.
These transactions will show those objets which has been modified by user exit/SAP note or some other custom modifications in 4.7 system.

  • Data Access Object  relationship with other tables

    Hi,
I have two entities which are related. One is customer other is account.
I need to get accounts of the customer as well , when I do a search for customer.
I am using data access objects both for customer and account.
Now where shall do the above mentioned search.
Do I have to write one sql in Customer Data Access Object or does the Customer DAO has to refer to Account DAO to get account details.
    Which method is the best.
    Thanking You,
    Chamal.

If it was me the Account DAO would have a method that takes a customer id and returns a list of Accounts.
Customer would have a method that used that method.
That requires two queries though. Your requirements might drive the need for a single query (which returns two result sets.) If that was the case then I would still have the extraction logic in the Account class - the customer class would pass the extracted sub result set to it and it would return an account list.
