Make sure that Firefox closes properly and that there isn't a hanging Firefox or plugin-container process left in the task manager.
Try to use "Firefox/File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit") to close Firefox if you are currently doing that by clicking the close X on the title bar.

Importunes about version in MIC

any one can you please explain what is the importunes about version in master inspection characteristic creation.

In simple words,MIC is created as a Master data when you have same char used at several places.So you create it once & use it multiple time.
Now in this process when you have a MIC which is slightly to be changed for certain parameters,so needs to create another version of the MIC which has some parameters different from the previos version.
sap you have a MIC which is MIC1 version1 with UCL = 12 & LCL=10.
Now you get a requirement to change limits of this MIC for a situation at one place(say UCL = 12 & LCL=10.50).
As Version 1 is already used at sevaral places you may create New version say 2 and assign it to new place.
Older one can be replaced with new one depending upon the customization"with History" & Without Histoty" .

Since Safari for Windows is a little old now. some things may no longer display properly if the website creator moves to newer technologies not supported on older browsers. You are likely to see this in more and more sites as they update themselves.
I suggest using a more modern browser.

Question about versioning (history) in the latest release

Some questions:
1. Will versioning ever be integrated with locked pages, locked scene, colored pages, revision marks functionality etc, so that at a particular moment you can optionally augment the current versioning with the more traditional way of production revision cycles?
2. If above will not be the case (or is never activated): what currently happens with scene numbers & manual breakdown info that is already added, but than the scene gets deleted. Is all this info gone (& scenes renumbered). Can we save a version to keep this info? Please clarify.
3. Regarding breakdown of elements: will there be a way that we can visualize breakdown sheets on screen. It's much easier for me to look at it that way, e.g. the Scenechronize way (I guess I'm old).
4. Regarding breakdown and making the script 'production ready', will there be a way to combine scenes that belong together and part scenes (that are not in the same shooting location but where the writer chose to combine the action in one scene, eg like telephone conversation etc).
I guess all my questions boil down to this: will Story also aim to offer serious production breakdown features that could be used by production managers & assistant directors to prep for physical production, or will it mainly be a collaborative writing tool (even if it does allow you to transfer text into On Location shotlists and then eventually into your clips).
I guess there's a conceptual difference (at least when talking about narrative film with a lot of cast, locations, props etc): do you support mainly the writing effort and than transfer into a tool like Scenechronize once production starts - or do you go further? For (corporate) interview type shoots this matters less.
I would be interested to hear your views on the matter.

Yes. Versioning will be integrated with locked pages, colored pages but we are not planning to lock scenes yet. We will also show asterix against changed lines in future updates.
You can always explicitly save a version (file->save as) to mark a checkpoint draft. You can add your own comments while saving this draft so that you can find it later.
We'd like to support production related features because we want to leverage script metadata for all it can be leveraged for. That said, "full fledged" is a loaded term. We will take small steps and enable workflows related to production as we go along. Dynamic breakdown reports, that can be viewed and edited in Story are on our roadmap.

Version Management is active in my system.
Is there any standard report that shows any information about the different versions of the POs?
I need a report which atleast shows the number of versions that exist for a PO.

All confused about versions!!

I'm sorry if this has already been explained in parts else where, but I need a totally fresh clear picture of what is going on. This is my problem, although I would say I am fairly comfortable with Java programming; and I go enjoy it alot, I am only just about comming to grips with all the different versions and the ways in which it is organised. This is where my problem lays.
I am using jdk1.3.1, and Forte version 2. I take it this is J2SE. Now I want to start programming Secure Sockets (am working on client server architecture), however from searching through the different classes available I found that I don't have javax.net.ssl. So I think.. lets just download J2EE. But from the looks of it all the specifications required do not list Windows 98 which is what I am (still?!) using. I am stuck... can I just download classes?! I don't know what to do.
Somebody please help a confussed DOS C/C++ programmer :-)

javax.net.ssl is a standard part of the 1.4 API, the easiest way of using it could be upgrading to 1.4.1 or 1.4.2 Beta.
But maybe you can still download it from http://java.sun.com/products/jsse/ ...
Forget about the EE stuff, it's not what you need :)

The latest 6.22.81.105 version has a different user interface and design of the chat window.

However, several features available in the previous versions, are removed in this version.
Personally, I don't like the "improvements" made in this new version.

Live Update confused about versions installed?

I have a MSI Neo4 Platinum and first I installed the Marvell LAN Drivers via Live Update (Version 7.14.1.3). This driver did however seem to be very unstable (the network connection dropped after a few minutes of use), so I went to Windows Update and picked the Marvell Driver there. It shows up under the Driver Tab as version 7.29.4.3". This driver seems very stable and my dropped connection problem is gone. I had this problem on two different installations of this board.
When I now run Live Driver, it incorrectly reports that my current version is 7.14.1.3 (not 7.29.4.3). It is obviously confused about shich version I'm running.
Anyone else seen this problem?

Do not bother with Live Update. If you want to update anything, do it manually. Also for Mobo Drivers, usenVidia nForce Drivers

jdk's version depends on os only?

yep, 32 bit software normally run on 64 bit cpu (not XP 64 bit, the environment) unless ur using win 64.

Question about version based downloads

How does the jnlp-servlet know where different versions of a jar are? Does it look through the entire web directory for version.xml files and keeps a list? I am asking because I don't really understand what steps would be involved when I needed to create an update to my application that was previously deployed with jnlp.
If someone could just explain how they would setup an update using the following scenario. I have an application with two jar files (one.jar and two.jar). There is a new release of my software and only the two.jar had changes. What would my old jnlp file look like and what would the new jnlp file look like? What would the directory structure look like now that I need to maintain the old two.jar around for incremental updating (i.e. jarDiff)?

Now, the latest available version of SAP Mobile Infrastructure is 7.1 with EHP1.
For MI 7.1, go to:
service.sap.com/swdc -> SAP Installations & Upgrades -> Installations & Upgrades - Entry by Application Group -> SAP Netweaver -> SAP Netweaver -> SAP Netweaver Mobile 7.1 -> Installation .
If you want to install MI 7.1 with EHP1, go to:
service.sap.com/swdc -> SAP Installations & Upgrades -> Installations & Upgrades - Entry by Application Group -> SAP Netweaver -> SAP Netweaver -> SAP EHP1 for SAP NW PI 7.1 -> Installation and Upgrade.
The same installation DVDs are required to install both PI 7.1 EHP1 and MI 7.1 EHP1.
Read the installation guides at service.sap.com/instguides and it will clarify any further doubts that you may have.

Warning about version when opening pdf

I get the following warning when openning a pdf generated by LiveCycle Forms ES:
My Adobe Reader version is 9.2.
Is there a setting in my xdp's which might cause this warning to appear?

Goto File menu-> Form Properties-> Defaults tab
Change the Target Version to 7.0.5 or later

I am misunderstanding something about versions?

OK- Just picked up Aperture. It's late on Friday after a long week (laptop died this week). I import my images into a new project. Within that project I create two albums: one for color, one for black & white. I drag the images from the project to each album. At this point each album has the same images. I go to the black & white folder and de-saturate one image (still need to figure out how to batch that). But now it is de-saturated in the project & the color folder?? I thought that if I made an adjustment to an image in an album, the other versions were untouched? What am I missing. I am reading pages 16-17 of the manual and I not feeling like the brightest crayon in the box right now because I must be missing something?

versions are not album specific. all versions will be located in the same project (a holding cell for all of the masters and versions). if you have one version in several albums and folders and change that one version in any way, all albums and folders will reflect that change. you might think of images in albums as aliases rather than the originals.
(within the Aperture library, images are contained within Finder folders which represent your projects. when you move an image from one project to another, it is moved within the library from one folder to another.)
if you want to have one desaturated and one normal version, you need to either choose Duplicate Version or New Version from Master from the Images menu. you might rename the second version if it makes it easier for you.
when I need to export different aspect ratio images for my blog (one for screen, one for mobile), I make my adjustments to the first version and then use Duplicate Version to create a copy with all adjustments intact. I then crop the second version to the aspect ratio I need.
you might also add keywords to your images and create smart albums which auto-populated based on those keywords. for example, add the keyword 'desaturated' to your desaturated images and have them automatically added to the 'desaturated' album.
