Accept step causing issue for internal calls

Hello,
We have been using Cisco IPCC for several years now to handle calls from external customers.
Now we like to use it also to handle calls to our internal helpdesk but face the issue that the IPCC will not accept any internal calls.
After initial troubleshooting, we find out that, for internal calls, the script will just fail at the very first "Accept (-- Triggering Contact--)" step !!!
This executes without problems when calling the same application/script but from external phone.
So far we have been unable to find out the root cause.  Any idea ?

Hello,
My guess is that your problem is codec because you said that the call is dropped , all the way , check the codec and check what Anthony said.
In case you have a codec mismatch , you have to do one of these two:
1- configure a transcoding resources
2- make a device pool and a sperate region with a location that every other region can talk to this region (UCCX region) via a one codec , in this case you will not get the call dropped.

  • Sync To CRM Time - Does This Cause Issues For Anyone Else?

I have been a long-time Eloqua user. Primarily, the companies that I have worked are B-to-B and serve small businesses.  In the small business lead generation world, when you wait to respond to leads - you lose. The first one in usually gets the deal.  We have all of our lead generation activities running through Eloqua, including our PPL campaigns where multiple competitors are also responding to RFQ's and also our inbound sales call center uses it (via form) to submit leads in order to take advantage of the de-duplication and validation power in Eloqua.  The latter causes my sales team to wait 15 minutes while they are they are waiting for the lead to get created and transferred to them in CRM.
Here is my issue.  At best, it takes Eloqua 15 minutes to sync the leads to SFDC.  These programs are "straight to queue" integrations too.  I am running integration events straight from the form processing steps, so there are no program builder delays here.  The guys in Support have been really great, and have been working with me to see what can be done to decrease the lag time, but 15 minutes seems to be the acceptable rate. So, I am starting to think of ways to take them directly to SFDC and just live with the issues of duplicates and no validation.
I can't be the only one that this causes issues for.  Does anyone else have this issue?

    Hi John,
I too have had these issues.  The main problem is not program builder.  The integration queue/engine is prone to backlogs.  Rumor has it that the integration engine is shared by the campaign engine and a bunch of other services in the platform.  Either way, the integration queue will always have a lag.
    My solution was:
    1.  Push data from ELQ form to a SFDC Web-toLead Form IF ELQ contact has blank LeadID and ContactID (does not exist in SFDC) -- this creates leads instantly in SFDC.
    2.  Run an apex trigger from SFDC to do a blind form submit to Eloqua with the email address and SFDC Lead ID for the leads created from step1 -- this will ensure that creating duplicate leads in SFDC is minimized.
    3.  Send notifications from ELQ form to Sales Reps if ELQ contact already exists in SFDC as Lead or Contact. -- even without the updates on the lead or contact records in sfdc, this gives the reps an immediate heads up.
    4.  Send the rest of the information that I couldn't fit into the post-data-to-server step for the new lead.
Of course I also baked into the form processing steps a bunch of conditions to mitigate spam.

  • Obscene Prices for International Calls!!! What a Rip-Off!!!

I just took a look at my very first bill and to my surprise, my 10 year old had attempted to make 6 (1 minute calls) and 1 (29 minute call) to England to speak with her father. I admit it was partly my fault because with the last company they could just pick up the phone and call their father and I neglected to tell them that they could not do that anymore. Blah, blah, blah.....my 1st Verizon bill is $220.00 (@$100 or so in long distance charges for basically 1 call).
I called customer service to get some kind of relief but nothing. The advisor said that the billing is done by a 3rd party and that verizon can not do anything about it. I was a loyal Verizon cellular customer for 2 years, paying my bill on time and all and this is how they treat me.
I'm sorry...I know this blog si probably for people who have real issues but I needed to vent my frustration!!! I guess it's time to look for another carrier or go back to old one. For the sake of my sanity and wallet, I had a block put on my phone for international calls but how nice it would have been for Verizon to step up and do the right thing. They could have atleast put me on the international plan and backdated it!!!! GRINCH!!!! BTW, 1 minute call to England is $2.89 so don't make the same mistake!!!!

I feel your pain. I'm in bill shock too. I made one phone call to China and my bill was $200. When I called Verizon for help, they refused.
Actually the FCC received so many complaints about this issue related to cell phones that they were going to pass a law to regulate it. As a preemptive measure, many wireless carriers voluntarily agreed to send text messages to users when their charges were approaching their monthly limit. Unfortunately, there was no such action taken for landlines. Hence your and my situation.
It certainly would be a smart business decision for Verizon to include a voice alert on landlines warning you of the rate you are about to incur, as it would prevent these situations from happening, but they have yet to do so. Every time they do something like this, they lose a long-term customer for a quick profit.
Verizon is aware of the problem. It happens to millions of customers a year. But until people like you and I put pressure on the FCC to regulate them regarding landlines, nothing will change. So I encourage you to contact  http://www.fcc.gov/

  • Could facetime be used for international calls and free of charge???

Could facetime be used for international calls and free of charge???
Or does it work the same way as any other 2G calls???

For the iphone 4, I believe that have to do a initial voice call first (if it's not in your recent call list), and then start the live video chat (facetime). I could be wrong but if you have no recent call history with facetime, you would have to start a voice call again, and then immediately switch to facetime to prevent international cost. I haven't tried this so I would not now, but I only assume that if you don't have him/her on the recent list with facetime.

  • Exchange upgrade causing issues with internal wiri...

Recently our exchange was upgraded to accommodate bt infinity and at the same time our broadband started playing up. we called bt and I spent 1.5 hours checking and re checking equipment with the call center. Tests were done with the hub at either end of the internal wiring. All the tests were still showing faults even with hub connected to the test socket. They asked me to leave connected for 24 hours while they monitor the line. They promised to call me back which they did not. I called them again the following day to be told I should have left the hub in the test socket which I was not told the previous day. I then had to wait 48 hours while they monitored the line this time in the test socket. All the tests still showed the fault was still there so an engineer called out.
The hub was still in the test socket when engineer arrived and the first thing he did was hook up his test equipment to the test socket and he stated there and then that there was nothing wrong with the line but it had been throttled down. 2 minute phone call and 10 minutes later broadband was back and working perfectly at the test socket. He checked the internal extention and the faults were being thrown up by an extension that has been in place for 10 years +. He stated to me that the new equipment installed in the exchange was more advanced and did more line checks so, although this equipment has been used for Internet with BT for 10 years it is no longer adequate.
All of this I find understandable but the whole way that BT handled this from day 1 of my first call has been appalling. BT openly admitted that the original engineer calls were handled badly and we were credited £9 for the lack of services we had for overly long time. However we are now, 2 months after this, faced with nearly £130 charge for the engineer visit which, looking back with the info I have now, was completely unnecessary. Had the engineers on the phone bothered to reset the line while hub was in the test socket when they were allegedly monitoring it for 48 hours they could have told me there were no faults on their equipment up to the socket and I would have sorted out the internal wiring myself. Even now I can find mention on the Internet of old wiring causing issues but no specific posts to do with exchange upgrades potentially meaning that you need to upgrade internal wiring or mention by the BT call center itself on any of the calls I made to them. All I was told was that everything up to the main box is BT and everything after that mine but since we have made no changes to the wiring we did not think it was applicable until the engineer arrived and told us what he told us then. Yesterday I called Bt again around 9am to dispute the charge. I was informed that because the fault was with our equipment the charge stands. I explained all of the above and I had my case put to the review team. I was told I would get a call back within 4 hours which I did but the phone rang 3 times and as I answered they hung up. I then got a text saying they had tried to call and asked for me to call back which I did to be told that his computer wasn't working. He took my details and said someone would call me back which no one did. I chased again to be told that someone would definitely call me that day. No one did. I chased again today to be told the decision still stands. He has put to final review and promised a call back within 5 days. Until this is resolved direct debit is cancelled. To the letter of the contract we have with BT this is our charge to pay I know that but this could have been avoided if the information was out there on the net, if the original checks done over the phone were done correctly or if I had been told this directly by Bt themselves prior to the engineer being called out which is why I am posting this here so hopefully no one else falls into this trap.

You're right I'm not connected to the BT infinity cabinet. But the BT Infinity cabinets all still route back through the exchange that I am connected to -
    http://www.ichilton.co.uk/blog/phones/faster-broadband-bt-infinity-fibre-to-the-cabinet-coming-to-in...
    Quote :
What this modem does is connects using VDSL from your home to the VDSL cabinet using the existing copper wires, on to the DSLAM, back to the exchange (over the fibre) and on to BT’s core network.
Your phone line is then still terminated in the original cabinet for telephony (using the cross connect between the old and new cabinets I mentioned above) and back to the exchange over the original multi pair copper cable as it always has done.
    http://www.robertos.me.uk/html/fttx.html
    Quote:
FTTC involves BT Openreach installing a new street cabinet near to the existing one and linking the two. They run optical fibre from the exchange to the new cabinet then link individual lines from the old cabinet to the new one and back to get VDSL2 onto the copper connection to the premises. The PSTN phone connection continues to operate over the pre-existing cable from the old cabinet to the exchange.  It does not get put onto the fibre connection.
In other words the linkage is Exchange >> Old >> DSLAM in New >> Old >> Premises. (Traffic in both directions of course!)
Presumably the equipment in the exchange cannot stay as it is and is upgraded in the process?

I have a prepaid calling card that I use for calling international. The way it works is that I have to call a 866 number, followed by entering a 10 digit code, and then proceed to calling the actual number (with international prefix codes). Is there a way to set this up as international call default so that I do not have to modify all my international contact's phone numbers to include this procedure?

  • IRecruitment conversion issue for internal applicants

    Hi,
We are doing conversion from legacy to oracle irecruitment. When converting external applicants, things have gone fine. I used Create_user and registered_user_application API's.
Now for internal applicants conversion, its giving me lot of problems. If i use registered_user application API, its end dating his existing person and assignment record and creating a new applicant record.
But i need to update his person record with person_type status to EMP_APL. Is there any way to do this?
    Thanks in advance
    kumar

    Hi,
    Thank you for your reply.
Actually i tried with hr_applicant_api.apply_for_job_anytime. This API takes person_id and vacancy_id as parameters and updates the person record with person_type status to 'EMP_APL' and creates one more assigment record with user_status 'Active Application'
    Now my issue is resolved.
    Thanks

  • Microsoft security issue during international call

Please help... it seems that during my international calls, my Microsoft Security Essentials is popping up and dropping my calls. This is not happening with local calls, only international calls. Can anyone help me or tell me if it is a different problem and not my security. Thanks so much

I dont think this is in any way related to your CSS settings as the outbound call is hitting your gateway and it is successfully able to set up the call, because you are seeing Q931.
looking at your debug info, your provider gives you a normal call clearing:
    049742: Nov 13 17:24:39: ISDN Se0/1/0:23 Q931: RX <- DISCONNECT pd = 8  callref = 0x80A5
    Cause i = 0x8090 - Normal call clearing
Take this up with your provider, and ask them to allow you to make international calls.

  • Error in Fork Step causing issue in generating next work items

    All,
We have ECC 6.0 with the following SP:
    SAP_BASIS     700     0012     SAPKB70012     SAP Basis Component
    SAP_ABA                     700     0012     SAPKA70012     Cross-Application Component
I have this strange issue. In one of my custom workflows, i am using a Fork step with 02/ 02 necessary outcomes. In branch 1, i am sending a mail to a user's e-mail id. In branch 2, i have 3 activity steps for another user. Step 1 is to display an invoice and step 2 is a user decision to apprve/deny this invoice.
I know that during runtime, at the Fork step, the work item for branch 1 and the 1st work item for activity step 1 in branch 2 get generated almost simultaneously(though with some small time difference). This is OK. But the issue is, when the sendmail in branch 1 errors out due to some error, and when step 1 is finished successfully by another user, the work item for 2nd activity step in branch 2 is not getting created.
As i understand, in the Fork, the 2 branches, execution should be independent of each other, that means, the work item creation and execution of branch 1 and 3 steps in branch 2 should be happening independently. But, this doesn't seem to be the case.
I understand when the sendmail in branch failed, the wflow is set to 'Error' Status. But there is already an open workitem for step 1 of branch 2. When this workitem is completed successfully, I expect the work item for 2nd step should get generated. But this is not happening. But, when i restart the whole workflow using SWPR, it generates the witem for 2nd step in branch 2. And still the wflow is in 'Error' status.
When the user finishes the 2nd workitem of branch 2, the next work item for 3rd step is not getting generated. Instead i needed to restart the whole wflow again and this time, it generated the 3rd witem in ranch 2.
To my understanding, when a Fork is there, if i specify 02/02 outcomes necessary, these 2 branches should go in parallel, both creation and execution of workitems, until they are joined. And at this point, if the whole Fork step is successful, then workflow will proceed further with steps below the Fork. Shouldn't this be the case ?
Anybody had similar issue? Pl share your thoughts on this. I'd really appreciate if somebody can clarify whats going on in the above case and how to fix this.
    Thank you in advance

    Hi Arghadip,
Thanks for your reply. You said
"When a Workflow goes into error the processing should stop whether it is in same branch or in different.".
If this is correct, then as i explained earlier, when i restart the workflow without fixing the errored branch, then also, the next work item should not be created..Right ? But, it is. I didn't fix the errored branch but simply restarted the workflow. Then it created the witem for 2nd step, in the branch 2 that is not errored.
How can this be, the branch 1 is still in ERROR status only. So, can you pl clarify if something else might be going on here.
Also, fixing the issue is fine. But, the SendMail step in branch 1 is just an information only and per business requirement, this should not be holding up the approval process. And if we don't process the invoice in time, just because of some informational mail errored out, this will not be a feasible solution to the client,Right ? That's the whole reason i am using Fork step, so that they both proceed parallelly (independently).
If step 1 is a pre-requisite for step 2, then it makes sense to fix error in step 1 so that we can proceed with step 2.
    Any other thoughts on this.....
    Regards,
    venu
