Access to archived email folders

I use ms exchange for my emails and have archived folders how do I access those folders from my ipad

To the best of my knowledge, this cannot be done from an iOS device. Unless I'm misunderstanding what you mean when you say "archived folders", archived email from Outlook is a local file stored on the computer on which the archive was made, so it can't be accessed from the Mail app on the iPad. I don't know of any way to open an Outlook archive other than with Outlook even if you get the iPad access to the file via FileBrowser, Dropbox or some similar method.

  • Where are my archived email and address book?

For other reasons (couldn't open web pages) I did a MS Recovery where it claimed my personal data would be spared. Some aps would need to be reloaded but the data should remain.
I have been using Mozilla for a few years (great program, BTW) and had created an address book and had folders of received email that I had archived according to family member.
Since the recovery step completed I have re-installed Mozilla. It is working and has pulled new email from my EarthLink account. I'd like to now re-install the address book and my archived email folders assuming they are truly still around.

Windows will not preserve the following during a refresh:
Desktop applications that are not included with Windows. These are typically applications that you downloaded from the Internet or installed from a disk. This includes any anti-virus programs, games, or other applications you may have installed. To make it easier to reinstall your applications, a file will be created on your desktop listing the applications that were removed.
I doubt the Thunderbird profile has been preserved, otherwise Thunderbird would have picked it up after being re-installed.
Be more careful the next time, and make sure to create a backup of your profile on a regular basis.

I have already gotten the emails moved from the Dell Laptop running Windows to the iMac and have them in Outlook on the iMac. What I am needing to know is how do I get the folders from Windows Outlook to Mac Outlook so everything will be organized on the iMac like it was on the Dell Laptop.

    Hi Dmzimmerman1,
What program are you using for email? The answer will vary based on the program. Also, are you referred to archived email folders or is the email account configured for IMAP?

  • How do I archive my verizon email folders into zip folders onto my hard drive?

I have archived my folders twice before into zip folders on my hard drive by using an option in verizon yahoo mail. The last time was last night. However I can not find this option again. Tech support does not know how.
    Thanks

    Hello Annie3,
Verizon Yahoo! mail does not archive using win zip presently.  It appears you were using a 3rd party application to do this which is why your not finding it in the Verizon Yahoo! software.  You can however download the messages into a 3rd party POP client software such as Outlook, Outlook express, Eudora, Thunderbird, Incredimail, etc...  You can find more information on the features of Verizon Yahoo! mail in the help section link http://help.yahoo.com//l/us/verizon/mail/

  • How to enable access of Archive database mails on Outlook.

We are using Exchange 2010 and I recently created a new database to use as a Archive database to move 1 year old messages  and be accessible to users as a folder on their emails. I was able to apply the tag "All other folders" on
Retention tags and applied to a test mailbox. It was successful and I was able to access those archived mails on a separate folder that showed the database for the user. It was visible on OWA whereas when we configured the email id to a Outlook, it was
not showing that database folder or the mails. Please let me know what more of setting I should be looking at to get this working.
FYI, I tried on a Ms Outlook Professional plus 2010 and 2013. But didn't show.

    Hi Shasti,
According to your description, I understand that Outlook client cannot display the online archive folder, however it works in OWA.
If I misunderstand your concern, please do not hesitate to let me know.
I want to double confirm some points, please help to collect answers for following questions:
    1. Ensure that deploy Outlook on Terminal Server environment.
    2. What’s the version of Outlook?
The reason why I’m asking is that other user experience similar question, it may be related to Outlook license.

  • How can I show outlook archived emails on iphone

I archive my emails on my windows 7 laptop but want to be able to have access to those archived emails on my iphone. Is there a way to have the sync'd like the inbox and sent box are?
    Thanks,
    Jeff

To keep mail in sync requires an IMAP or Exchange account, such is not possible with a POP account. The only mail folders that can be kept in sync are folders created on the server...again, requires an IMAP or Exchange account. Local folders, created on a computer, cannot be kept in sync.

  • Yahoo email folders on iphone.

I have many email folders with my yahoo email for archiving - I don't want them stored on my iphone.  If I delete them from the iphone, they are also deleted from my yahoo email.  Can I remove them from storing on my iphone without loosing them on my pc?

Your folders are not "stored" on your iPhone, they're stored on the server.  But if you navigate to a folder then the server will push however many messages you've specified in settings (i.e. "Show xx Recent Messages").  If you don't want to populate your iPhone with the contents of these folders, don't open them. If you've already done that, delete and re-add the account to your iPhone.
If I misunderstood and what you really mean is that you don't want these folders accessible on the iPhone, you can't set up the account such that it doesn't give you access to all the folders.  You could however set up a 2nd account where your primary account forwards its Inbox to a secondary (separate) Yahoo account on your iPhone.  That way only your Inbox is on your iPhone.

  • Auditing failed access to files and folders in Windows Storage Server 2008 R2

    Hello,
I've been trying to figure out why I cannot audit the failed access to files and folders on my server.  I'm trying to replace a unix-based NAS with a Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 solution so I can use my current audit tools (the 'nix NAS
has basically none).  I'm looking for a solution for a small remote office with 5-10 users and am looking at Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 (no props yet, but on a Buffalo appliance).  I specifically need to audit the failure of a user to access
folders and files they are not supposed to view, but on this appliance it never shows.  I have:
Enabled audit Object access for File system, File share and Detailed file share
Set the security of the top-level share to everyone full control
Used NTFS file permissions to set who can/cannot see particular folders
On those folders (and letting those permissions flow down) I've set the auditing tab to "Fail - Everyone - Full Control - This folder, subfolders and files"
On the audit log I only see "Audit Success" messages for items like "A network share object was checked to see whether client can be granted desired access (Event 5145) - but never a failure audit (because this user was not allowed access by NTFS permissions).
I've done this successfully with Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 w/SP1 and am wondering if anybody has tried this with the Windows Storage Server version (with success of course).  My customer wants an inexpensive "appliance" and I thought this new
variant of 2008 was the ticket, but I can't if it won't provide this audit.
Any thoughts? Any of you have luck with this?  I am (due to the fact I bought this appliance out of my own pocket) using the WSS "Workgroup" flavor and am wondering if this feature has been stripped from the workgroup edition of WSS.
    TIA,
    --Jeffrey

    Hi Jeffrey,
The steps to setup Audit on a WSS system should be the same as a standard version of Windows Server. So please redo the steps listed below to see if issue still exists:
Enabling file auditing is a 2-step process.
[1] Configure "audit object access" in AD Group Policy or on the server's local GPO. This setting is located under Computer Configuration-->Windows Settings-->Security Settings-->Local Policies-->Audit Policies. Enable success/failure auditing
    for "Audit object access."
[2] Configure an audit entry on the specific folder(s) that you wish to audit. Right-click on the folder-->Properties-->Advanced. From the Auditing tab, click Add, then enter the users/groups whom you wish to audit and what actions you wish to audit
    - auditing Full Control will create an audit entry every time anyone opens/changes/closes/deletes a file, or you can just audit for Delete operations.

  • Mail deleted a current inbox and restored an old deleted inbox. It won't restore from Time Machine, and I'm missing archived emails from the old account. I'm pretty sure there is other stuff missing, but it's hard to tell. Any ideas why it would do this?

Our Mac was working fine last Monday, then Tuesday morning one of our current inboxes was gone, and an old, archived inbox was restored--twice. Other than some trouble-shooting on Tuesday, we've pretty much left things alone as we were busy doing other stuff.
I tried restoring the files from Time Machine, but it didn't work. I followed plisk restore instructions--nothing. It's a mess. We have no idea what would have caused this. We're above average users--we weren't mucking about with anything. It was just so strange.
I went back into Time Machine, and it just makes no sense that I can't restore anything. We're now missing important emails--nothing too tragic, but still a pain in the butt. Thankfully the current inbox that was somehow deleted had a back-up on our email server, but the archived/deleted inbox file that was magically restored had all the archived emails that we kept deleted.
    Any ideas would be wonderful.
    Thanks!

    Hello,
Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
    If 10.7.0 or later...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk.

  • Can I batch-archive emails and attachments to my hard drive? ...in a format other than .eml...which is stupid...

My current email system no longer allows me to click on a bunch of emails - and their attachments, then 'print' them to pdf on my hard drive.
My business must save emails for at least 10 years.
Someone suggested Mozilla's email, Thunderbird, but I'm not gonna switch until I know that I can batch-archive.
    Thoughts?

    Hi!
Thunderbird is capable of batch-archiving; you can select all the emails/folders/mailboxes that you wish to archive and then click "Archive". They will all be archived in their appropriate folders to your computer. There are Thunderbird add-ons available that will give you even better control over your archiving options.
If you'd rather print them all to PDFs, you would need to have a PDF creator installed on your computer first. You would then select all the emails you wanted to print and then select your PDF creator as the printer at print time.
If you are looking for a new e-mail client, Thunderbird is an excellent option. :) You can download it [http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird here].
    <hr>
I hope that answered your question!
<i>If it did, would you please choose this answer as your solution? It would help other Mozilla product users to find help on the forums faster and more efficiently. Thanks!</i>
And of course, feel free to post back if you need more help!
If you need more specific assistance with Thunderbird, it'd be ideal to post further questions to [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/thunderbird Mozilla's Thunderbird Support Forums] , instead of the Firefox forum. :)

  • Workaround to archive email in Outlook 2010 as PDF portfolio?

    Hello All,
    We use Acrobat Pro 9.4.6.
Our office will not update to Acrobat X until CS6 becomes available for purchase.
We run Office 2010 Pro 32-bit on Windows 7 64-bit.
We need to archive email in a way that can be sorted in a PDF Portfolio by date or attachments to email.
I wrote VBA code to save email from an entire folder or several selected folders as .HTML files with the same folder structure on disk as was in Outlook. This works for sorting by date of email, but it does not allow for the attachments to stay attached to the email.
I thought about downgrading Acrobat to 9.0, but I am unsure if this is possible.
Has anyone found a way to archive email in Outlook 2010 as PDF portfolio which would allow sorting by which email have attachments?
    Thanks,
    edsager
P.S. A few extra steps would definitely add more benefit than cost.

To resolve error 0x8004010F , identify the current location of your default Outlook data file, and then create a new Outlook profile.
Step 1- Locate the default Outlook data file
Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
    In Control Panel, click Mail.
In the Mail Setup - Outlook dialog box, click Show Profiles.
Select your current Outlook profile, and then click Properties.
In the Mail Setup - Outlook dialog box, click Data Files.
Select the Data Files tab in the Account Settings dialog box, and then note the name and location of the default data file for your profile (a check mark will denote the default data file).
    Click Close.
Step 2 - Create a new Outlook profile
Step 3 - Configure your new Outlook profile as the default profile

  • After migrating to new mac, email folders are lost.

I used Migration Assistant to transfer files and data from my old MacBook Air to my new MacBook Air. Everything seems to have transferred just fine, except for my email folders. I have tried plugging in Time Machine to restore them from my backups on my old mac, but the new mac doesn't recognize backups on the old one, so I can't access it through Time Machine while in the mail program. So then I tried searching for my mail files, which (according to what I've read) should be in Library/Mail, but I have no Mail folder that I can find by that path (or, really, by any other). I believe both macs are running Mountain Lion.

That Library folder is actually the one in your home folder, which is hidden. You can view it by clicking the Go menu in Finder while holding the Option key down - you'll then see a shortcut to Library.
The mail is held in ~/Library/Mail/V2, inside folders named for each mail account. You should be able to use the File - Import Mailboxes menu in Mail to retrieve them.
