Accessility zoom and dual monitor (disable zoom on one of the monitor)

Hello,
I am vision impaired user of the Mac. I'm having a problem. When I presenting something with PowerPoint or Keynote and using a projector.
The zoom is enabled on the two monitor, so when I run the diaporama the Presentation Screen is not displayed, it display what I am sseing with the zoom on the computer zoom.
So I would like to disable this behavior. I would like to see the presentation with the zoom on my computer screen and the Presentation mode on the projector.
Do you know how to make this possible?
Thank you,
Best regards,
Lionel

I have figured it out today while looking for some other settings in Openbox. I have added to openbox's rc.xlm the following
<application name="skype">
<position force="yes">
<x>100</x>
<y>100</y>
</position>
</application>
<application name="oblogout">
<position force="yes">
<x>0</x>
<y>0</y>
</position>
<skip_pager>yes</skip_pager>
<skip_taskbar>yes</skip_taskbar>
<fullscreen>yes</fullscreen>
</application>
and now both application start in the main monitor.

  • TouchSmart and dual monitors - lag time

    I have the HP TouchSmart 320 PC and have set up the connection with a second and third monitor. I had to purchase a seperate piece to connect them. When I first connected them, they were working perfectly. However, I had to take my PC to get it cleaned due to some viruses. Now there is a huge lag time between my main PC and dual monitors. For example: if I play a video, it will not show up on the dual monitor but will play on my main PC. How can I fix this to where they sync up better?

    Hello,
    What is the exact model of the 320 PC you have?
    What are the other monitors brand and models and what piece have you bought to connect those monitors to your unit?
    Can you explain the setup or even provide pictures of the setup?

    I have a single dongle connected to the docking staition for one monitor, but it's too short and only a single one and not to able attached to my personal laptop.
    I know it's probably pretty easy if you are use to configuriung, but I am not. Any help is appreciated.

    Hi ecat,
    I wanted the product number so that I could check the specs on your notebook to see what ports you have on your notebook. However, your model is a CTO which means Custom to Order so I can't pull up the specs.
    This HP document Using Two or More Monitors with One Computer will show you the types of video connections and how to extend the desktop. This will be a guideline to show you how to setup the external monitor.

    hi i have an ipad 2 and i have made a password but have forgotten it and it has disabled it.what would be the best thing to do?

    Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
    3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
    Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.

    It doesn't matter what it is in your backup that's causing the problem because you can not selectively restore things from your backup. It's all or nothing.

    They will simply use Migration Assistant to transfer your Home folder, third-party applications and support files, and system preferences. This is something you could do yourself. You would need a Firewire cable to connect between your old computer and your new one. Migration Assistant is installed in the Utilities folder of your new computer.

    And yet to download the app you clicked on a button that told you that the app would be 790 rupees for you.
    The iLife apps and the iWork apps are only free when you qualify to get them free. And when you get them free the buy button to download them says free. When the buy button has a price on it, that is how much you will pay for the app.

  • Mac Pro, Leopard 10.5.2, Photoshop CS3, 8800GT and Dual Monitors - Crashing

    Hi, I received my Mac Pro (with Nvidia 8800GT) earlier this week and set it up with my dual monitors. I soon discovered that Photoshop CS3 crashes when scrolling a 'zoomed in' image with dual monitors. Photoshop is setup so that all palettes are on the smaller samsung monitor and the main image window I'm working on is on the 23" cinema display.
    I've updated both the OS and CS3 but cannot solve the problem unless I switch to a single view setup, ie, drag all the palettes over to the larger monitor so that photoshop is no longer dual monitor. Then it works fine. Although it's a workaround, it's not an ideal situation. Has anyone else found this to be an issue? Have you found a solution?
    I've also re-installed Photoshop, visited a genius bar and changed mice!
    Thanks, any help would be appreciated.

    My Mac Pro had been running 3 Dell monitors on two NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT cards for months, and with the (I think) Safari update all of a sudden the Mac freezes, 1 monitor displays garbledy gook, and the other is blank with a blinking power light. That is, until yesterday when the power light refused to come on. So I says to myself, "Self, how about testing them on my iBook?" The 1704FPT will not power on, plugged in to a computer or not. The 1707FP shakes like crazy when starting up on the iBook, then settles in and seems to work. Meanwhile, the SP2008WFP is working alone on the Mac Pro, but not totally trouble-free. What the heck is going on?

  • PS CS5 & Lightroom 4.3 and Dual monitors

    Hi
    I am using dual monitors.
    When editing in CS5 I can work directly on the second screen containing the main image. All the palettes etc are on the 1st screen.
    When using LR 4.3 it is not possible. The main image shows on the second screen and the cursor appears correctly on both screens.
    However I cannot work directly on the main image.
    As an example: If I wish to use the White Balance Selector, the "Pick a white target" grid box appears only on the screen containing the main elements and not on the main image.
    On moving to the main image the cursor appears as a + sign and will only zoom in and out.
    This situation is the same whether using a mouse or my Wacom tablet.
    This does make editing a nightmare on LR 4.3 but simple on PS CS5.
    Could anybody help.

    I am confused as to which screen/image you refer to as the main screen/image.  Lightroom has limited options and no editing possibilities on its '2nd display'.  These include Loupe view which may be what you call the main image. Screen 1 image is where to do all Lightroom editing in any module screen 2 is where the active image(s) is/are displayed as reference.  CS5 may have different options for dual displays (including editing possibilities on what LR may use as screen 2, I do all editing on Screen 1).  You need to identify which is screen 1 and which 2 - by turning off screen 2 in LR (click on the little screen symbol far left of the toolbar - click 'T' if it is not showing.

  • Open GL and dual monitors - Status?

    When CS4 was first released it was discovered that if OpenGL was enabled in the performance settings, Photoshop would not honor the ICC profile for a 2nd monitor. I would assume that this would have been fixed by now in both CS4 and CS5. In searching the forum I couldn't find anything that confirmed this has been fixed but I also haven't seen any recent posts mentioning this issue either (which might suggest that it has been fixed).
    A second question related to that... hypothetically speaking, let's say the bug is still present. Would monitors such as the Eizo CG series and the NEC PA and xx90 series which have monitor LUTs be affected by this bug (assume they have been profiled using an application that can deal directly with the monitor LUT, and that no corrections have been applied in the video LUT)? I'm thinking that since the profile is loaded directly into the monitor LUT it would be a non-issue (unless of course the video LUT is somehow being corrupted by OpenGL).
    Cheers, Joe

    Hi Grant,
    Thanks for the response. Let me clarify a little bit...
    "you need to save two separate colour corrected profiles on the graphics card,"
    This is not the issue I'm curious about (I own pretty much every major color corretion app on the market so I'm all set there). When PS CS4 was first released there was a bug in dual monitor setups. If you had two monitors and OpenGL was enabled, Photoshop would not use the ICC profile for the second monitor. Here's a more specific scenario (not my specific setup but just for the sake of an example that illustrates the specifics of what I'm curious about):
    Monitor A and B are both HP LP2475's. They have each been profiled with Color Eyes Display Pro (for clarity, a separate profile has been made for each screen). When PS CS4 was released, if OpenGL was enabled, Photoshop would not use the ICC profile for the 2nd monitor. If you disabled OpenGL and restarted, everything would be fine.
    The question is, is this still the case with CS4 and CS5?
    The other thing I'm curious about is... let's say more monitor B you have something from the NEC PAxxxW, or xx90 series, or something from the Eizo CG series. These are monitors that have on board monitor LUTs and profiling applications that can upload an ICC profile directly into the monitor's LUT. If your second monitor was a screen that has a monitor LUT (and let's assume you used the appropriate application to generate the profile and upload the LUT to the monitor), would this OpenGL bug still manifest? I suspect not as I believe the OpenGL bug was specifically tied to the secondary screen and thus the secondary video LUT BUT... in order for the monitor LUT to work properly the video LUT needs to be loaded with a normalized profile so that it is making no correction whatsoever (which means there is still the potential for a problem depending upon what state the video LUT is in when OpenGL is used in Photoshop... does the video LUT get flushed, does it get populated with bogus data????).
    Cheers, Joe

  • T420 and dual monitors using eGPC?

    Hello all,
    I just purchased my first ThinkPad, a T420 (4180 62U).  So far I really love this machine.
    Unfortunately for me, I didn't realize that this model does not support dual external displays with the built-in graphics processor.
    I was wondering if anyone has had success with using a external graphics card along with the dock so that they can have the dual external monitors and the laptop screen running.
    If so, what hardware should I be looking at? I would welcome any advice or recommendations.
    Thanks
    Zim

    Thanks for the quick reply!
    I haven't actually tried the dock yet.  I was going to order one, then I read that you had to have the Nvida Optimus graphics card to actually do a dual monitor + laptop screen set-up which my ThinkPad does not have.
    It's my understanding that the intel graphics HD 3000 allows another monitor, it just doesn't support tow external monitors.
    Am I mistaken about this?
    If so, then I'll be real happy, because using 3 screens will be a great help when using Cisco Packet Tracer simulator, reading instructions and taking notes.

  • HP Pavilion dv7-2250ed and dual monitor setup

    Good evening,
    Currently I own a HP Pavilion dv7-2250ed notebook using a dual monitor setup (notebook display + extra monitor)
    I wondered if it would be possible to hook 2 monitors to this laptop? (notebook display + extra monitor + extra monitor)
    If this causes the problem, the notebook display isn't requered.
    Also, if not, is there a dockingstation for this brand which supports the above?
    Kind Regards,
    Cor van Noorloos

    I have attempted to connect one monitor via HDMI and the other one via the VGA interface.
    Using Windows 7 OS and "default configurations" (Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Display\Screen Resolution) it is possible to use both external monitors as desktop. However the laptop screen will go blank. So at any time it appears to be possible to have an extended desktop with only two screens.
    - Does HP have any drivers/solutions that make it possible to extend the desktop from "Mobile PC" display to two additional desktops?
    - Has anyone tried third party software  (e.g.. UltraMon)?
    - Is there a technical restriction (e.g.. Videocard capability)?
    - How about using a Linux OS (e.g.. Ubuntu)?
    - What external Hardware exists that would enable me to extend my desktop to three or more monitors simultaneously?
    Many thanks in advance.
    It's the graphics card and the number of physical connections available.  You might have 3 connections (notebook display being one) but the graphics card likely does not support more than 2 monitors.  Intel graphics only support 2, however you may be able to find some AMD chips that will support more however that would be a major upgrade.

  • T60 Vista and Dual Monitor Support

    I have a Lenovo T60 running on Vista 32-bit.  I have the latest Video Drivers, but whenever my laptop comes out of hibernation I lose dual monitor support.  Is there a solution to this problem?

    The issue you're facing is a combination of a Vista "bug" and the video drivers. If you are using the latest video drivers, check to see that Vista is not managing the TMM - Vista has a bad habit of just remembering the initial setup, therefore when you take your computer off the dock, Vista doesn't like the change and will "conveniently" forget any variation of settings you may introduce.
    Read this article on TMM for Vista  (.doc file - read the first section)
    Hope that helps
