Accessing an environment simultaneously between 32 and 64 bits applications

Hi all.
I thought that using BDB 5.3.x, you could mix 32 and 64 bits processes accessing the same environment simultaneously. That seems not to be the case.
When a 64 bits process is trying to join an environment created by a 32 bits process, I get this error:
bsddb3.db.DBError: (-30969, "BDB0091 DB_VERSION_MISMATCH: Database environment version mismatch -- BDB1539 Build signature doesn't match environment")
Same error joining the other way around.
Was I mistaken? Can not be done in BDB 5.3.x?

Perhaps this article from Wikipedia will explain:

Why reward points?(Quoted from Discussions Terms of Use.)
The reward system helps to increase community participation. When a community member gives you (or another member) a reward for providing helpful advice or a solution to their question, your accumulated points will increase your status level within the community.
Members may reward you with 5 points if they deem that your reply is helpful and 10 points if you post a solution to their issue. Likewise, when you mark a reply as Helpful or Solved in your own created topic, you will be awarding the respondent with the same point values.

  • About integration between SAP and non-SAP applications via javaidoc classes

    Hi,All
Now we are implementing a SAP-Retail project,we encounter a problem of integration between SAP and non-SAP applications(POS),we want to set Inbound/Outbound between SAP and POS applications realtimely,POS can connect to the SAP system via VPN,weather it can be implemented?
I conceive to implement it with SAP Java Connector IDoc Class,I don't know weather it is the best solution? If not, please give some other proposal.
I have download the classes from SAP website and try it with the samples provided by SAP(JCoIDocSample1.java/JCoIDocSample3.java),In my testing,Inbound is succeed, but,in SAP-Retail IS,standard Outbound message type is defined via file port, some one told me that SAP Java Connector IDoc Class can only receive idocs from tRFC port?is it true?If not, please tell me how to deploy in SAP so java program can receive idocs from file port?

We too are interested in finding information on integration between SAP and Intergraph.  Were you able to obtain information and I was wondering if could share this with us.
    Thanks,

  • Weird Differences Between 32 and 64 bit Conversions

    Windows Users:
Ever convert exactly the same raw file using exactly the same parameters into 16 bits/channel images with Photoshop CS6 32 bit and 64 bit, overlay them, set the top layer to "Differences", then add a couple of extreme curves adjustment layers over the top?
Amazingly, there's a difference between the two conversions.
Even more amazingly, while there's a slight correllation to the image content, there are patterns in the differences that don't really match much of anything in the image, yet they differ from raw file to raw file.
Try it some time.  If you can't reproduce it, I'll be happy to share my raw file.
Here are two small images, the converted raw file, and the enhanced differences between a 32 and 64 bit conversion of that same raw file.
Enhanced/blurred differences betwen the 32 and 64 bit conversions.

I happened to be using the 32 bit Photoshop today to access some plug-ins I only can get in 32 bits, converted the same image in both, and just wondered whether there might be differences.  You never know what you'll find until you look!
Oh, and sorry Mac folks - I know you only have a 64 bit converter to play with.

    Thanks for your response, Eric.
I understand what you're saying, but a several bit difference in a 15 bit result is actually quite a lot to be attributed to math inaccuracy due to floating point operations.  Even single precision 32 bit floating point operations should give you 24 bits of precision.  A few bits at the end shouldn't add up to a visible difference, unless decisions are being made in the code based on results (e.g., if noise > threshold, do something).
Perhaps you don't use the Strict Floating Point Model, because if you did that should give you consistent results.
I've been through the decision of which floating point model to use in my own software, initially thinking that the Fast model would be better for speed (obviously), but as it turns out the repeatability of results with the Strict model is well worth the tiny bit of extra time it takes for the results to be predictable.  You might want to reconsider using Strict, as I have, especially if these are not just round-off errors but decisions being made in the code based on floating point results.  Looking around on the web, I see more folks than just I have made that specific choice.
    Food for thought.

  • SSO between Portal and Java WD application

    Hi Experts,
I am using CE 7.2 on localhost and I am very new to SAP.
I need to know how can I get SSO between Portal and Java WD.  I have a WD application that displays the logged in user using "IUser currentUser = WDClientUser.getCurrentUser().getSAPUser()", as well I can use "IUser user = UMFactory.getAuthenticator().getLoggedInUser()".  Both work.
Q1. What is the difference in the 2 above?
Q2. My WD application is set to authenticate user.  The WD application is in URL iView.  I need SSO between Portal and WD application.   Is there a way to get this SSO without SAP Backend (ECC), for now I just need SSO between Portal and Java WD appl.
    Everything is in localhost.
    Please advice. Thanks.

Then I suggest you ask your question in the Web Dynpro Java forum instead of the Web Dynpro ABAP one.

  • Using Automator or Applescript to switch between 32 and 64-bit modes

I'd like to use applescript or automator to create something that would switch logic in and out of 64-bit mode (yes, I'm lazy). I've been fooling around with automator to no avail...anyone have any solutions?
    Thanks in advance.

As a Launchbar devotee, it's pretty easy for me - to run Logic I hit command-space (to activate Launchbar) then "l" (lower case L) to select Logic and return to run it.
If I wanted to change mode I do command-space (activate Launchbar) l (to select Logic) then command-I to do a get info, untick the box and go.
None of this tedious open finder windows and locate the application bundle etc... I do a huge amount via Launchbar, it's about the quickest most efficient way of doing many things.
Not sure about Applescripts, my guess is it would be quite clunky and slower than the way I do it...

  • New 27" Quad Core I5 or I7 and 64 bit Applications

I may be purchasing one at some point in the not too distant future and was wondering how exactly does the new iMacs and 10.6 work with 64 bit applications? I'm really in the dark about this, so I'm sure this sounds like a dumb question.
I run the usual Adobe apps but I also have a 3D app (Cinema 4D) that would greatly benefit from running in 64 bit. Is that something you have to switch on and off? How would you use 64 bit apps with 32 bit apps?
Thanks. Again, sorry if this is basic.

  • What's the relationship between Agent and JMX-instrumented applications?

Hi, I'm a beginner of EM and JMX. I'm trying to integrate my application with EM. After reading some documents, I find I need to make my application JMX-instrumented first and then design the plug-in. But I'm still a little confused about the relationship between the Agent and the JMX-instrumented appliactions.
    Here is what I'm confused:
    1. Should the EM Agent be installed in the host where my JMX-instrumented application is installed? If this is true, then that will mean Agent cannot monitor the remote resource. But it sounds not reasonable.
    2. When making the application JMX-instrumented, we should use the platform MBeanServer or create our own MBeanServer? Do they have a major difference? and will it impact the plug-in design?
    Thanks in advance.

    Answers to your queries:

Its not necessary that EM Agent should be installed on the same host where JMX-instrumented application is/are installed. EM Agent has a fetchlet (named OJMX) that can be used. Refer to [Management Using Web Services and JMX|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/em.102/b16246/web_jmx.htm] for more details on emjmxcli tool, which can help to build the plug-in which can monitor the MBeans. [EM Extensibility Guide|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/em.102/b16246/toc.htm] contains all the details for building a plug-in.
    2. When making the application JMX-instrumented, we should use the platform MBeanServer or create our own MBeanServer? Do they have a major difference? and will it impact the plug-in design?
To best of my knowledge, plug-in design doesn't get impacted

  • Sound quality: If you want to hear the difference between higher and lower bit rates

Have you ever wondered about the difference in the sound quality of music at different bit-rates? Can you hear the difference?
If you listen to 64kbps and 28kbps (either wma or mp3), you'll hear the great difference. However, if you listen to 28kbps and 92kbps (either wma or mp3), you'll find that there is little or no difference (to me, that is).
    collegeboy wrote:
We all know that wma 28kbps sounds just as good as wma 320kb
    ps.
the reason i and you go higher than 28 is because where able to. you can deny all you want.
If you want to experience better sound quality at higher bit-rates, the best thing to do is to listen to the music at a quiet place. This may sound like lame advise, but it really works. Try 320kbps for the best results. You'll be able to hear minor details you never had before.

Wayyyyyy back when I first started encoding MP3s I was using 28 with an inferior encoder. At the time I couldn't spot the difference, but now the difference is stark. Particular types of music (and more specifically instruments and combinations) do emphasise it though.
Actually, you cannot hear the difference when the background noise is loud, or example, public transport. I suggest that one uses a noise cancellation headset. $$$

    Hi:
I have few databases with over 400GB on rhel32-bit Oracle 10gR1 32-bit. I configured new RHEL64-bit and Oracle 10gR2 64-bit. Now i want move the 32-bit DBs to 64-bits DB-prod. Due to differences in the bit versions and possible R1 and R2 versions, the RMAN restore to new host failed to work. I can't do tranportable tabelspace becoasue these are not self-contained and nor i can do export-import, which will take for ever.
Could you please sugegst me some workable solution which is fast restore and minimal or no downtime on the 32-bit production database?

    Refer note 341880.1
You can simply copy the data files from one server to another server and perform the upgrade as mentioned in above note.

LEAVE PROGRAM always leaves the current program - there is never any processing after LEAVE PROGRAM !
While If you use the EXIT statement within an event block but not in a loop, the system stops processing the block immediatelyand If the EXIT statement occurs inside a DO, WHILE, or LOOP loop, it is the loop that terminates, not the processing block.

  • Propagation of security between appplications and servers

It appears that WebLogic propagates security between applications and
domains using a cookie. So as long as all applications use the same
cookie id (JSESSIONID) then a single sign-on is enabled between
    applications.
Is it correct this would apply to propagation between portal and
non-portal applications in the same clustered environment?
In a different vein, is there a way of propagating security
information between different servers or different clusters?
Say, for example, server1 (or cluster1) allows a user to sign-in and
presents a page with a link to server2 (or cluster2). We would like to
be able to propagate transparently the security information gathered
at the sign-in on server1 to the application on server2.
I'm assuming the cookie placed in the browser from server1 would not
be passed to server2. Is there a way, programmatically or otherwise,
to enable this to occur in a secure way?

    try this...as a test..
take a simple Contact ejb (as simple as you can make it, just a name and email address). In the ejb-jar.xml set up a role, for example, user, and restrict the access to only this role for all methods.
try to access the ejb from a jsp, and you should get the login form identified in your web.xml file.
make sure that the ejb is noted in the web.xml file, also.
    this should work...
no try this...identify a role in your web.xml file, (user, for example) and restrict the access to the a particular jsp which is not calling the ejb. IF you navigate to this jsp, you should get the login prompt...
    this should work....
    now the tough part
in your application.xml create a role with the same name, user. By doing this, you have created a global role, and connect the two together.
Now point your browser to the restricted jsp with no calls to the ejb...you should get the login, so login in.
now navigate to your jsp which is unrestricted, but calls the restricted ejb...
there should now be no login prompt.
    This should work.
