Acrobat 9.0 Standard Licensing Errors

I have 11 copies of Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Standard installed in
our office. One of the installations keeps receiving a licensing
error - usually just after a Microsoft update. The error is
"Licensing for this product has stopped working 148:3". I have
uninstalled and reinstalled this product more than once but the
licensing error comes back in a few days. I'm the administrator.
What file keeps corrupting or how can I keep the licensing intact?

  • Adobe X Standard Licensing error

I am having trouble installing Adobe X Standard on windows 7 machines.  I am putting it on a image.  It is giving users the licensing error message and to uninstall and reinstall.  After we uninstall and reinstall we don't get this message.  I used the Adobe Customization wizard to create the install package.  Anyone seen this issue before?

We are experiencing the same problem
    1.       Acrobat Professional X
    2.       Volume License
    3.       Windows 7 (x86) Enterprise w/ SP1
    4.       Adobe Customization Wizard X
    a.       Volume Key
    b.      Product registration
    c.       Disable EULA
    d.      Remove Desktop Icon
    5.       Adobe Update 10.0.1
    6.       Adobe Update 10.0.2
Create Image with MDT, Capture WIM, Deploy via SCCM OSD. (Note: Items installed via MDT use the SYSTEM account)
    Replication Notes:
    1)      If you are a local admin you do not experience the problem
    2)      If you are a non-local admin and you open a PDF directly (without open Adobe and accepting the EULA first), you receive this error:
    Configuration Error
A problem has occurred with the licensing of this product. Restart your computer and re-launch the application.
If this problem still occurs after restarting, contact Customer Support for further assistance, and mention the error code shown at the bottom of this screen.
                    Error: 213:19
    3)      If you login as a local admin, open adobe, accept the EULA, log off, login as user (non-admin), and open PDF file, everything then works correctly. (not an option on several thousand computers)
    4)      It appears the transform isn’t applying the EULA portion correctly (on reference computer it definitely did), all other transform options are working correctly (Volume key, prod registration, and remove desktop icon) so the transform is being applied.
Let me know if I can provide any other information. We are able to replicate the issue consistently.
    Thank you,

    Thank you.

You need at least Acrobat 9 to be eligible for upgrades, so it's a moot point. Simply buy a new license of a current version.

  • Sudden Server Infrastructure Licensing errors SBS 2011 Standard install (10 months old)

The following errors began about a month ago and I can't figure out how to fix it.  I especially don't like that it states the server will be shut down in 22 days.  When I rebooted the server last week the problem went away for exactly 24 hours
then came back and seems to report every 4 hours.
    Background:
Fresh SBS 2011 install last Dec. 7th (2012).
We did have an SBS 2003 server but it was never on the same network.  We simply backed up the data off of its data drive.  Exchange was backed up via OST to PST conversion then imported in.  Only 10 - 12 users.
HP ProLiant server and the SBS 2011 DVDs were OEM supplied by HP but we installed NOT pre-installed.
    Thx,

Please we have a license for acrobat reader 7 standard, but we got activation required message and after 2 Min program exit.
Please find attached all Pic. describing the error messages.
If you have any questions please let us now.

Your original disks and serial number will no longer work, because Adobe long ago switched off activation. Happily, they provided a replacement for at least some of the products - new download, new serial. See Error: Activation Server Unavailable | CS2, Acrobat 7, Audition 3. Note that your product is called Acrobat Standard, not Acrobat Reader Standard (if looking for it in lists this may help).

  • Cannot Create PDF Acrobat 9.4 Standard Windows 7, 64 bit

    Hi,
Currenlty my colleague and I have the same issue; we cannot create PDF documents using Acrobat 9.4 Standard or the office plug in, and there is no PDF printer available after the acrobat installation either.
We are both using Windows 7, 64 bit version. I have checked and confirmed Acrobat 9 on Windows 7 64 bit with Office 2007 should be compatible.
    * When using the 'Create PDF from file' feature from Acrobat we get the following error: "Unable to find "Adobe PDF" resource files. Do you want to run the installer in repair mode?"
I have run the installer in repair mode multiple times, same isssue occurs after this is done.
    * When using the Acrobat plug-in for office, for example in Word (we both use Office Professional 2007) and selecting 'Create PDF' it will prompt for a save location, after select save nothing happens, and there is no PDF file created in the save locaton.
So far I have tried the following without any success:
    - Un-installing and re-installing acrobat, multiple times
    - running the acrobat application in compatability mode for Windows XP
    - attempted to create PDF files from older word versions i.e. .doc and .docx have the same issue
    - attempted to manually install PDF printer using the acrobat installation files - did not work
    * I am aware that Office 2007 will allow me to save a document as PDF, however we still need acrobat for the publishing quality and editing features.
Any help or suggestions regarding this issue would be greatly appreciated :-)
    Kind Regards,
    Wade

I understand what you are suggesting. I have two laptops the same model. AA works on one but not the other.  I do have office 7 and a 64 bit OS.
    Thanks for the help

Subject: Cannot Create PDF Acrobat 9.4 Standard Windows 7, 64 bit
If you are running a 64-bit version of OFFICE 2007 (if one exists), that may be the issue. AA X did not work with that version until the most recent release as I understand it. Since you have AA 9.4, I am not sure of the compatibility of it with the 64-bit version. It is strange that the printer does not appear. It seems a few others have had similar problems and as I recall, someone made a suggestion to fix that recently -- though it may have been for AA X. You might search on 64-bit or such.

  • Help, my Acrobat 7.0 standard wont open, "plug-in failed to initilize" Can anyone help?

Hi Everyone, im really stuck and not too good with all the tec stuff. My Acrobat 7.0 standard has been working fine for a few years and studdently over the weekend it will not open and gives me the followig error:
"there was an error while loading the plug-in "updater.api". the plug-in failed to initialize"
Does anyone know of any solutions to this problem? Could I uninstall and reiatall or is there an easier way? Apparently although I said 500USD for the product there is no support availabel on the phone unless I upgrade so Im in a bind.
All help would be greathfully accepted.
    Thanks for listening

    Hi Imwaves,
I repaired the adobe files through the control panel add/remove program and got it up and running but your experience explains why.
I aldo run avast free software and while I have now scanned the adobe files and there are no virsus there prob was before it was repaired...im now doing a full scan of my conputer.
However as you suggested i did check the virus chest and also found soap.api in there which had been removed on 2nd June. I think the virus tricked avast into removing the soap.api file so as to render the program useless.
At least we have gotten to the bottom of it and hopefully it may help ithers who have experience the same thing. Thanks for your help
    Cheers

  • Where can I download Acrobat 9.0 Standard?

I purchased Acrobat 9.0 Standard in December 2009 and have the serial number - it cannot be applied to Acrobat 9.0 Pro.  Is a download available so I don't have to purchase or subscribe to an entirely new Acrobat?

    Dear Mr. Jeff A Wright,
    Thanks for your response.
The Instructions with License Certificate we were initially provided by Adobe upon purchase with a direct download link does not exist any more.
The Link is dead and does not give an opportunity to download the requested version of Adobe Standard 9.0 Ukr. version that we purchased.
Due to the urgent need of installation it on the certain PC, we can not proceed for the time being.
Moreover, Adobe 9.0 exists in Professional version only under in the section of "Download" instead of the Standard version we need.
In this case we need to know, whether Adobe has oficially stopped the support of Standard 9.0 version meaning that we can not use the product anymore or there is an alternative way.
Thanks for your support and hope to hear from you soonest possible.

  • How can I update Adobe Acrobat 8.0 Standard

How can I update Adobe Acrobat 8.0 Standard after installing it on Windows 7? Ive tried a few AcrobatUpd8**_all_incr.msp files but I get an error that the program to upgrade may be missing. I cannot afford to upgrade it to X* when this works for what I need it for which is simply to break up multi page documents created by Quickbooks.

Certainly, the printer driver in Acrobat 8.0 cannot install in Windows 7 64 bit - it wasn't written too. Apparently, though, 8.1 is capable of installing the printer driver.
Unfortunately, Adobe have taken down the page with release notes. But you may need to use the *efg* (English, French, German) versions. See http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/update-patch-acrobat-reader-7.html
After 8.1 there is a "universal" (all language) update.

  • Acrobat 7.0 Standard can DOCX be converted to PDF

I am using Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Standard version 7.1.0.  I am unable to create a PDF from a DOCX file (Word 2010).
    Is this conversion supported?
Also, I am using Windows 7 Professional, and I don't have the ability to right-click to convert to PDF.  How can I get this back?
    thanks in advance.

If you can use AA7 on Win 7, you may be successful. However, you will have to print to the Adobe PDF print. If you were using an earlier version of WORD (2003), then PDF Maker may work. In any case, AcroTray will likely not work. That means you will have to print to the Adobe PDF printer with print-to-file selected. Then open that file in Distiller to complete the process. A bit combersome, but may work. I have done it with AA5 and Win 7 starter -- a bit of a pain and an upgrade is really appropriate. If you have a 64 bit system, you may be totally out of luck.
So, you may be successful in getting AA7 to work in some sense. Do not expect perfection of no errors. Good luck.
