Activation date 2 days ago and still no broadband

Hi Everyone
I ordered broadband on an existing bt phone line on 17th June and was given an activation date for 3 weeks later.  My activation date was Monday and 2 days later I am still without a connection.  The website tracker syas that "Your Broadband order is in hand with a member of our team, if there are any issues we will contact you. Please continue to check online for further updates"  The Indian call centre promised me a call back as they needed to contact 'their supplier'.  24 hours on from that phone call and this hasnt happened.  Would a mod be able to give me their contact details so they can look into this to find out what the delay is and how long the process might take.  Working from home means I need a continuity of internet provision moving from one supplier to the next.

Just finished a live chat session as the promised returned phonecall never materialized.  The operator said that "The reason for the delay is regarding the ground work for the cables to be connected from the exchange".  How can this be the case when it's BT broadband coming through an already installed BT phone line that has been carrying broadband from another provider.  It's not BT infinity as that hasnt rolled out to this part of Bristol yet.  In the live chat he said that I should have broadband by 13th July, which is a whole working week after the promised start date.

    ACTIVATING FACETIME AND IMESSAGES
    Activating Facetime and Imessages on your phone requires the ability to send SMS messages and depending upon where you are that might be an international SMS.  Check with your carrier to see if your plan supports sending of international SMS messages.  If you are having trouble activating Facetime or Imessages turn them both off on your device and reset the device (Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for device to restart (no data will be lost)).  Wait for the device to restart and wait a minute and turn Facetime and imessage back on and wait for activation.  If that does not fix things read the following articles:

    I just checked your account; you have two subscriptions to Acrobat Pro (one purchased on October 1, and another purchased today). As no serial number is required to use your subscription, you should be able to download and install Acrobat, and then sign in and use it. If you're getting a specific error when you try to install or sign in to Acrobat, please let us know, and we'll get it sorted out.
    Ad for you having multiple subscriptions, I would suggest that you Contact Customer Care and ask that you have one canceled/refunded (unless, of course, you need both of them).

    We are rather dissatisfied with your service. We purchased an online number from you days ago and the status still says processing. Our credit card company reported that the 60 dollar payment cleared yet we recieved nothing in return.
    What exactly is going on here? I'd sure like an explanation as to why the product I purchased has not been delivered after you took my money. And what of the  50% discount for having a skype phone subscription? Will 30 dollars be returned to my account for this?

    Can I get an update on the status of my Online Number purchase please? If not, I'll be forced to cancel all services and demand a full refund.

  • We Posted This Six (6) Days Ago and Still No Solution That Works!

    I posted the following 6 days ago and now I see that many others have the same problem.
    I have read and tried most all solutions posted WITHOUT success. I have used Reader for many years
    without a single problem until now. I read somewhere on this forum that Microsoft bought Adobe a while
    back...if this is true...I have my answer. If this is true that Microsoft bought Adobe a while back...we will
    probably get a solution when one is available from Microsoft...but we will probably have to pay for it.
    I am not trying to be nasty...only realistic.
    Here is my problem:
    I am trying to install Adobe Reader 9.2 update.
    When I try the install I get the following error:
    "Update  Failed...cannot install the update. Please run Adobe Reader Repair".
    I then run the Adobe Reader Repair and get the following ERROR.
    "Error 1402 Could not open key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\OpitionalCompo; nents\MSFS.
    Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or  contact your support personnel"
    I am logged in as the  administrator on my computer.
    I have searched the Internet for  instructions but none has helped me correct my above problem.
    Here are my computer specs:
    Windows XP
    Version 5.1  (Build 2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.091208-2036 : Service Pack 3)
    Physical  memory available to Windows:  1,046,620 kb
    I use Mozilla  Firefox Browser version 3.6..as my broswer.
    I also have  installed on my computer Internet Explorer version: 7.0.5730.13
    Cipher Strength: 128-bit.

    This is totally incorrect. I followed the suggestion very carefully BUT it did not work. Plus I have tried all other suggestion
    that I thought would correct my problem that I have read on this forum... and they did not work.
    Plus you say that "I was given an answer to my post" which I am thankful for...but I am NOT
    looking for an "answer" I am looking for a SOLUTION to the problem. I believe that as a loyal Adobe customer we all
    deserve a comprehensive solution and not the type of insinuations that you seem to infer. Shame on you!

  • 2nd activation date passed....still no broadband

    After ordering broadband from BT we were originally given and activation date of Jan 26th. This was then pushed back to February 2nd and then, just hours later I received and email stating it would be the 5th.
    The equipment was due to be delivered on the 2nd but actually turned up on the 3rd when no one was in so we had to pick.it up from a local post office. All of this was rather annoying but I could have lived with it if it had actually been activated on the 5th! I've spent an hour on the phone, banded about between different people just to be told it will be activated within.48 hours. How helpful. I definitely want my activation fee refunded and some kind of compensation but more than anything, I just want the broadband I'm paying for to actually work! It's now 15 hours after when I was told it would definitely be working by and still nothing!
    I'd been with Virgin for years before this. Boy do I wish I'd stayed with them. What a joke.

    I really wish the forum mods would make it more obvious when it comes to creating post titles vs the content... now we have no idea what we missed out on.
    First of all Jetpacks don't consume data, your personal devices do.  If your data plan is starting to reflect high data usage then one or more of your personal devices are to blame.  That means that for the time being you should get into the habit of powering on and off your Jetpack only as it is needed.  This will curb off the strange or late night download sessions so that they only occur when you are actively using your Jetpack.
    From there its a game of cat and mouse to figure out which device is demanding all the data from the VZW network.  You have to  use isolation techniques in addition to trial and error to find the source of the data leak and put a stop to it.  Sometimes that means bringing the device to a hotspot and letting it finish its updates.  Sometimes that means a new VZW device.  Sometimes that means termination.  Adding more data doesn't help the problem, its a band aid at best.

    AFter installing Yosemite and enabling Firevault my machine has become so slow it is unusable whilst encrypting is in progress. 
    It will not let me turn it off.
    THe estimated time remaining has never revealed itself ... it has been encrypting now for 4 days and the guider has not moved from its one quarter position.
    IT will not allow me to turn it off via CMD+R
    I am absolutely stuck.

    I have removed the power save options and keep the computer on all the time now with the Firevault screen visible .. nothing speeds it up.
    I regret enabling Firevault .. but it is so unforgiving for the uninformed ... like me.

    Back up all data before proceeding. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
    Start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select Disk Utility. In the Disk Utility window, select the icon of the startup volume from the list on the left. Then, from the menu bar, select
              File ▹ Turn Off Encryption
    Enter the login password of a user authorized to unlock the volume, or the alternate decryption key that was generated when you activated FileVault.
    You can then restart as usual, if the system is working. Decryption will be completed in the background. It may take several hours, and during that time performance will be reduced.

  • Unable to read text of email in preview pane or if opened. This problem occurred 3 days ago and has affected every email in my inbox received before that date.

    the emails appear in my inbox with subject line ok. also shows sender.
    This occurred two days ago and has affected all of my in box prior, Emails recd since then can be viewed. The interesting part is when I click on an email that I can read and then click on an email from a few days ago or a month ago , it still shows the subject and sender of the later email and the preview pane is blank.
    extensions installed are lookout 1.2.13 and import/export tools 2.8.0.4 which is disabled. was not game to enable
    by way of explanation, lets say I have 20 emails in my inbox numbered 1 thru 20.
    emails 1-10 recd prior to date X
    emails 10-20 recd post date x
    emails 10-20 can view in preview pane all as normal
    if I click # 15 say all is well
    if I then click #2 say, the preview pane is blank , the to and from still appears as # 15 and the preview pane is blank.

    right click the folder, select properties and then the repair button. That rebuilds the index for the mail folder and may fix the issue, or it may remove some mail from the list. But remember we are only building an index, not changing the message store.

    One of the following steps should help.
    1. Install Adobe Flash Player.

        Restart computer. Relaunch Safari.
    2.  Enable Plug-ins
        Safari > Preferences > Security
        Web Content:
        Click in the box for "Enable Plug-ins".
    3. Check  whether you are currently  in  YouTube HTML 5 trial.

        At the bottom  left of the page  uncheck the box for
       "You are currently in the HTML5 trial".
    4. Reset Safari.
        Click Safari in the menu bar.
        From the drop down select "Reset Safari".
        Uncheck the boxes next to all items.
        Check the box next to "Remove all website data".
        Click "Reset".
    5. Turn off Extensions/Plug-ins if any that may interfere with Flash working properly.
        Safari > Preferences > Extensions

    Not normal. For 3G and later it takes minutes, for a 1G or 2G it can take four hours or so.
    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
    How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
