Adding Email Server

Hi,
I am trying to add an email server on the enterprise stand alone edition to send the report by email, I am setting the host to: gmsmtp.oraclecorp.com, and the port to: 25, but when i try to send the report this exception occurs:
java.sql.SQLException: Io exception: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection.
Thx in advance.

You also have to make XML Publisher aware of were you installed the database tables.

However, if you are using the manual installation please check in
the Application configuration section of the manual installation:
3. Open the file ORACLE_HOME\oc4j\j2ee\home\applications
\xmlpserver\xmlpserver\WEB-INF\xmlp-server-config.xml
where your application server unpacked the war/ear file.
5. Change the database information in the scheduler section under /xmlpConfig/resource to reflect the database and schema that you configured for XML Publisher.
For example, for XMLP schema with password welcome on Oracle 10g database db.company.com:1525:ora10g you would update the file as follows:

  • Adding Email Server Information Brings to a halt

    I've tried it two or three times now on three different sites. Any time I add email server information in the Control Panel of Developer's Toolbox, Dreamweaver just spins it's wheels.
    Am I doing it wrong or.....Or is it even needed? Need more information on what this function is for.
    I tried doing the tutorials off of the Adobe site in regards to Contact Forms utilizing Developers Toolbox and I can't get anywhere because of this issue.
    As soon as I remove server information from the Email Settings the site is back to normal.

    Either Restrict Access or a Send Email Instance. Once I have tried to add either one of these to a page or successfully added, then I can't use ADDT at all.
    For instance I click on any of the Wizards to run them, I get a ADDT window with the word loading across it. It sits and spins.
    I have spent all afternoon trying to just get back to where I can work with ADDT again normally. The only way I have found that ADDT will work again after trying to utilize the email function or the Login function is to delete all of the ADDT include files and re-install.
    Not very time affective.

  • Spam Email Server Account Hijacked

    Hello everyone,
    I've been having a lot of trouble with one particular email server. I've posted a couple of questions but nobody has answered me so I went and re-installed the whole server by changing it's static IP and adding an Airport Extreme in between so that the server only does DNS, Open Directory, File Sharing and Email.
    Everything it's been going well until one user started receiving email notifications about mail returned messages.
    I've tried several things:
    - Removed the non SSL website so I only left the Webmail on 443
    - Changed to more secure passwords
    - Lock the account after 10 bad passwords (the user gets blocked every couple of hours)
    - Deactivate the POP protocol as nobody is using it, we are only using
    - Tried blocking some Russian IPs because I noticed that all the emails are Reply To the domain ngs.ru but from the logs it looks like it's going through locally.
    My user has only Macs and iOS products so even though it's a mixed environment I don't think there could be a Malware doing this.
    I don't know what else can I do, I really want to avoid the server getting blacklisted and I've been looking for help so I would really appreciate if someone can provide me some guidance.

    I've been getting a lot of bounce backs from the same SMTP server as you to our email domain as well.
    The offending server mwinf5d55.orange.fr is sending "backscatter" spam which should be simply dropped by them instead of bouncing back to the "FROM" address.
    Because of this problem of bounced emails, I've tweaked our SPF (Sender Policy Framework) DNS TXT entry for our email domain to help receiving mailservers know what our legitimate OUTBOUND smtp mail servers actually are.  This should allow correctly configured email servers to drop any email from mwinf5d55.orange.fr because it is not a valid source of email for our domain.
    (See http://www.openspf.org/SPF_Record_Syntax for some syntax)
    Some details that I've dug up:
    The SMTP server at orange.fr is accepting mail based on forged FROM: addresses which bounce back to you by the receiving target TO: address mailservers. 
    Eg. From your email bounce back message:  host mail.ru[94.100.176.20] said: 550 spam message discarded.
    I'm not sure if the spammer is using the mwinf5d55.orange.fr smtp server as an open relay or if it's using someone else's smtp username and password to send mail.
    If you look at the email headers of the original bounced (spam) email that caused the backscatter it shows for example (from one of our bounces that I've received):

    When you look up the IP address source of that email it shows that it is coming from "JSC Kazakhtelecom, West Kazakhstan Affiliate".

    If you lookup the original source email and find that it's from your original user's computer then you have a problem.  If it's from a compromised machine overseas that's sending forged spam on your user's behalf, then there's not too much you can do about it short of publishing a correct SPF record.

  • I changed email servers but mail is attempting to be sent from deleted email server

    We have a new email server so I deleted the email account associated with the old server and then added a new server.  When I try to send an email, it is finding the old SMTP server and attempts to send using that (which of course fails since I no longer have an account there.  I can't find any vestage or reference to my old email server anywhere on my iPhone but it is still finding it.  Help, please?

    From your description, I would like to clarify the following thing:
    A user with Full Access permission can’t send email from the shared mailbox unless they also have Send As or Send on Behalf permission. Please grant your IT mailbox send as permission or send on behalf permission to check the result.

  • The email server didn't recognize your username/password combination.

    OS: OS X Mavericks
    iPhoto: iPhoto v9.5.1 (902.17)
    I choose a photo, select Share, select Email, enter an email address to send to and click Send - then I get this error: "The email server didn’t recognize your username/password combination."
    In iPhoto preferences I have "Email photos using" set to "iPhoto"; I have an account added for Gmail (outgoing mail server: smtp.gmail.com; Port: 587; User Name and Password are correct for my gmail account, Use SSL is checked - basically everything is default for when I chose to add a gmail account and I'm positive my user name and password are entered correctly). I do not have 2-step verification enable for my gmail account (I've been searching for a solution online and noticed others mentioned this - this does not apply to my situation).
    Please help! What is going on? I just want to send an email from iPhoto using my gmail account.

    Have you tested the Gmail account via Apple Mail.app, and does both sending and receiving work?

    Have you confirmed that the Gmail user and password work with the Gmail web interface?
    Yes, I am sure it is the correct username and password; I am able to access the Gmail account via the Gmail web interface.
    Are you aware of and familiar with both sets of credentials present within each account within Mail.app?  In particular, have you gotten to the configuration displays the SMTP server settings?  (Mail > Preferences > Accounts > Account Information > Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) > select Edit SMTP Server List > select the SMTP server account > edit the SMTP server settings.)
    I'm not sure what you mean by both sets of credentials, but yes, in the Mail.app I have set the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) to Gmail (and used the Edit SMTP server list... option to set the smtp server to use default ports, use SSL, and use "Password" authentication (again with my correct username and password for the Gmail account). I also have the Account Information in Mail.app set for the incoming mail server (maybe that's what you mean by both). Either way, I believe having these settings for incoming mail server and outgoing mail server are allowing me to send and receive email for this Gmail account through Mail.app.
    I've also had some success by launching Keychain Access.app and finding all passwords associated with the account — specifically and only the Gmail account, in this case — and removing them from your keychain.  This does mean you'll have to re-add those passwords — using Mail.app and no other applications — and see if things start working.
    I just tried this - I launched Keychain Access.app and removed all entries associated with Gmail. I opened Mail.app, re-entered my password info, and sent a test email to another account - this worked. I opened iPhoto.app, re-entered my password via the Preferences, selected a photo, selected share, selected email, entered a to: address and clicked send - this didn't work (same error message as before (The email server didn't recognize your username/password combination).

  • Email Server

    Starting a few days ago my wife has been unable to connect to the Road Runner email server to access her email. We've tried deleting the account and adding it back with no success. All the account info. is correct and no changes were made to the phone before it stopped working. I even tried to add my Road Runner email to my Charge and got the same result. Anyone else experiencing this problem? Anyone have a solution?

  • Thunderbird stopped downloading emails from the web server and now when I try to add a new account I get a message to say it cannot find the email server.

    Thunderbird was working and then for no reason it stopped downloading emails from the web server. I can access my emails in the web server okay. I have tried to remove my account and then add it again as a new account but I get a message saying that Thunderbird cannot find the email server. I have also tried to uninstall and reinstall Thunderbird but with the same result. I have also tried to remove the default mail server but have been unable to do so. How can I fix this?

    I figured out a workaround.... Since I can get e-mails to populate via iSync and my other computer is running Leopard (it's a powerpc chip and can't run Snow Leopard), I added the account on the other computer and got the new account to populate into my SL machine with iSync. I don't like that I can't actually add the account directly, but at least this got me working.

  • Connect to unathenticated email server?

    How do you connect an iphone 4s to an unathenticated email server?  iphone defaults require some form of authentication (password, etc), but my POP3 email host does not use authentication on their server.  Currently no work email on my new work phone...not good.  I don't want to go back to blackberry!  Webmail is not a long-term solution.  I need to use Outlook for records retention purposes.

    I spoke with Apple yesterday.  They advised including your username and password for outgoing mail server.  In the settings both of those are optional.  When I added my user/pass my mail send/receive worked.
    I hope this solves your issue too.

  • BI Publisher Default Email Server

    Hello,
    I added an Email Server to BI Publisher so I can schedule and email reports. Because there is only one server, this acts as the default email server. Is there any way to delete this server? The Delete button is disabled because of this being the default server.

  • Help! Email server switched. Can't change old or add new on Blackberry

    My work email server was changed to use google apps. My problem is:
    My email address itself has not changed. I tried adding a new email account on the blackberry and it says it already exists. I tried changing the old and it tells me the info is incorrect and reverts to old info. This may be because the user name and password has changed and I cannot change the user name. It will not allow me to access that field.  Any ideas?
    I do not want to lose access to emails from the old server on my blackberry so I am afraid to delete the old account.

    I fixed it..sort of.
    Using the link below, BIS (Blackberry Internet Service)  sent an email with a link to set up the email through the web. It was a very quick and easy set-up for Google App Email. No guessing settings - it just worked. And it allowed me to have two email set-ups with the same email address..sort of. 
    There was no way to have two mail folders on the phone with the old mail & new, but by doing it this way, a new folder was set up on my phone for the new address, and all the old messages remained in the Main Message folder. I don't know if that would have happened if I deleted the old account. I read a lot of people having trouble with Google Apps setup so this is definitely the way to go:

    Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
    Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

    So, after IOS 7.0.3 update my phone email server settings for bellsouth.net would not work which they did previously...............I had to manually configure the settings as follows:
    Pre IOS 7.0.3: (worked flawlessly prior to update)
    pop.att.yahoo.com...............using port 995 with SSL checked
    smtp.att.yahii.com...............using port 465 with SSL chekced
    After IOS 7.0.3 update: (worked flawlessly, previous settings would not work)

  • Stuck on "contacting email server"

    Hi,
    I have had several customers with E series Nokias have issues adding an email address to their handsets. Gmail and Yahoo mostly.
    Web works OK.
    Email address and password work fine on computer.
    Email Setup > Start > Select Access Point > Enter Email Address > Enter Password > "contacting email server" and just sits there.
    We've removed all access points, readded, tested in Web - ALL OK.
    The access points are open, Internet type APNs on the Vodafone network.
    Any suggestions?

    There have been issues associated with migration of existing OVI Mail services to Yahoo and it currently does seem very difficult to validate existing e-mail accounts with each stage taking an inordinate length of time to process.
    The new POP settings for OVI Mail powered by Yahoo have to be entered manually incidentally.

  • Adding first server questions

    We are moving and are going to be adding a server (Quad 2.5 G5 w/ 2x500 HDs). We are currently have the internet connection coming in (static IP) to an AEBS running two printers and an AEX on the same network running the other. All the machines use the wireless network for internet access and printing. Email is via a hosted Exchange solution and another company hosts our web site. We have one spare machine that does limited file server work, but most folks have stuff on their hard drives.
    I have read the manuals on OS X server and a couple of after market books and, since much of it is somewhat familiar, I am relatively confident about many of the software setup issues. However, I have gotten some conflicting advice about the physical configuration and hoped you guys could help.
    We want to be able to use the server as a file server, with better access control than the sharing preference, have remote users connect with a VPN, use the wireless network for internet access and printing. We might want to host web sites via an intranet or be able to access them from outside, but don't want them to be associated with the domain name that is the real web site.
    My first question is about the interface between the airport network and the server. I was originally told that the cable to the internet should go into one of the servers ports and the other should connect to an AEBS. I should set up the server to act as a firewall and serve up DCHP addresses. However, some of what I have read says that this is a bad idea--that the AEBS or something else should be the first in line and that the server should be connected to the LAN port of the AEBS. Which is best?
    Other questions:
    Should I use the server print services or just the bonjour through airport?
    I don't need to set up the mail services, correct?
    Anything else I should consider?

    Since no one else has chimed in yet I'll pipe up and suggest you consider another configuration: connect your internet modem to a standalone firewall/router. (You'll either need one with a built in switch, or you'll need to connect a standalone switch to it.) Then connect both your server and Airport to the switch. The Airport will be set to bridge your wireless network to the wired network.
    This way you focus your server resources on real server stuff, while the router takes care of grunt work like NAT and DHCP. You also gain some isolation for your server compared to having it function as your firewall and gateway.
    Just an alternative to think about.

    Hey everyone, I have a X.4 email server that's been great for months. Tonight after I tried upgrading to 10.4.11, the computer got stuck on the gray boot up screen with the gears moving. It doesn't actually freeze, it just never gets anywhere. I tried booting off the installer CD, then using Disk Utility to repair permissions as well as repair the volume. Both said I had problems, and after I repaired it still did not boot up. I also tried booting off of Disk Warrior and repairing it that way. Still nothing. I can mount the drive in target mode to another machine, and everything seems to be there. I'd be fine installing a new OS then migrating the data if possible. My most recent backup is about 2 weeks ago. But I've added a lot of new users since then, and I'd like to preserve them if possible. I just can't find info on how to migrate from 10.4 to 10.4.

    There's zero causality or any causal relation between a botched unload of a launchctl file
    and a system that is compromised in some other fashion.
    When unloading a launchctl , use quotes, or cd to the directory and do it that way.
    Make doubly, triply sure you know that you can safely unload whatever the launchctl file/job is, of course.
