Adding information in IT0105 (communication)

Helllo guys,
We have created a subtype for IT015 (communication). This subtype has a field which will be unique for all the employees. Whenever the subtype data for a particular employee has to be created, the system should randomly generate the next number and put it in the field automatically. I have used the exit 'EXIT_SAPFP50M_001'. Here I am generating the random number by creating the number range object and using the function module 'NUMBER_GET_NEXT'. Now I have the random number but I am not sure how to put it in the screen field. The export parameter in the user exit doesnot have an option to take this number and put it in the screen field. How can this be done?

In the same exit you will find the INNNN structure. here you can populate the values.
you may also want to use METHOD cl_hr_pnnnn_type_cast=>prelp_to_pnnnn and cl_hr_pnnnn_type_cast=>pnnnn_to_prelp
for the conversion.

I have a question where from a workplace, the owners can adjust or add information in Word and Excel docs wich are stored in a library.
The problem is as follows: when one of the owners change the contents or adds content to one of the files, the other owners can't view in the file what's been added.
The files are always being checked in when an owner has finished adding content.
Also every owner has the same permissions.
Has anyone already had this problem?

Hi Wim,
I think you have misunderstanding Michaelle's attention. there is no workflow related to Approve/Reject.
Go to Library Settings->Version settings->Choose "Require content approval for submitted items?"
Then after you publish a major version of the document, you also need to approve the document to make it approved.

I want to retain my itunes 'date added' information when transferring to my new macbook pro

Hello There
I think even before I ask this, that I know what the answer will be, so please don't laugh at me, just sympathise..
I have a lot of music. A lot. So much I need to use the date added to keep it all organised and know where I am. Previously I used a computer from work for everything, but just got a shiny new macbook pro - woo hoo!
First thing I did was transfer my itunes library. I use a HD so pretty easy, simply hold down the option key whilst starting itunes, select the library on my HD and wallop, off we go. After a few minutes of chugging all my music is there and my playlists. Fantastic I thought, but then hold on - date added says today. This can't be right I say to myself, some of these files were added in 2008...
Being slightly paranoid about doing this I created a copy of my old itunes library - better safe than sorry. I open the old back up of itune library (an xml file) and sure enough, all the correct dates are there. I open up the new one and it says everything was imported today. Weird. So I try reimporting -doesn't work, overwriting the new xml file with the old info, saving and opening itunes again - no sir. Nothing works. It appears that whilst I can interact with the xml file, itunes uses another file (itunes document) which checks consistency, and won't allow the xml file info to overwrite, simply rehashes to the dates it thinks are right.
Done a fair bit of research and I think the answer is there is not an answer. Being the wise old owl that apple is, it has decided that users will not want this information if they ever move or buy new computers, so while it will keep your playlists, it won't have this bit of info. My only option has been to create spreadsheets of old list for reference.
I'm hoping out there someone will tell me that apple have realised this is rubbish and have fixed, or will say fret no longer, here is the magic workaround, but I haven't found anyone who can yet. Does anyone have the answer?
Until then, I will continue to perform this awkward workaround and stick pins into the apple voodoo doll.

weird very weird. today i did this again today after already being unsuccessful earlier. exactly the same thing as i have done before, exactly. didn't try to import. didn't say damaged library, copied everything in including date. have tried it about 10 times no luck. today it just worked.
how weird is that?
oh well JG - maybe you mixed a magic potion for me?

to anyone else reading this all i can say is keep trying, you never know. follow the above advice. you may feel exasperated and think you have done it already, but keep trying.

Movies in iTunes - Adding information

All,
I have recently started ripping some of my DVD's, adding them to iTunes and will soon be playing them on an iPod.
Problem is, I am searching for a way to add information such as:
Actors
Director
Genre (That is film specific - as opposed to music)
Age Rating
Film Description
Etc
I am guessing that this info can be stored about films and that you can view these details on the apple tv (when it is released).
Anyone know how to add this info?

Select the file in the iTunes widow and then 'Get Info' (+O) - are there any fields that will suit your needs?

but in ID/number field.

Having trouble adding information to a join table

I am building a Proof-of-concept HR application in Apex using the hosted site and having trouble entering information into a join table. There are three tables in my schema: Applicants, Postings, and ApplPostings
"Applicants" fields: Applicant_ID (PK), Name, Address, City, State, Zip, Phone, Email
"Postings" fields: Posting_ID(PK), Posting_Number, Item_Number, Posting_Date, Title, Description
"ApplPostings" fields: Appp_ID (PK), Apply_Date, appl_appl_id (FK), post_post_id (FK)
I have 5 pages in my application
1. A Report that shows all Applicants
2. A Form that shows Applicant details and allows editing
Contains 3 regions: Applicant Detail, Associated Postings, Available Postings
3. A Report that shows all Postings
4. A Form that shows Posting details and allows editing
5. A Form that allows creating an entry in ApplPostings
On page #2 (from the list above, it's p3 in my app), the "Associated Postings" region shows data from the Postings table for selected applicant per the ApplPostings table. This is the SQL:

Both ID fields populate with inherited values correctly.
The problem is when I try to use the Apex generated "Apply Changes" button
Nothing happens, there is not data added to that table.
I get the "Action Processed" message, but the row is not created in the ApplPostings table.
Any suggestions on what to do next will be helpful.

Hi,
On the form, any items that represent database columns must use "Database Column" as the Source Type and the column names as the Source Value or Expression. The "Fetch Row..." and "Process Row..." processes refer to these to determine where to write the data. So your first step is to change the two page items to use these settings. Without these settings, there is nothing to write into the table - the "Action performed" message will be displayed because there is no SQL error.
Now, on your report, your link should pass in the two values needed. In the Column Link settings for the column you are linking on, you have three pairs of fields headed Item 1, Item 2 and Item 3. Each item has a Name and Value setting. Into the Name setting enter in the page 7 item names. Into the corresponding Value setting enter in the column names that contain the values these items need to receive, surrounded by # symbols (for example, #POSTING_ID#).
Then, when you click on the item in the report, you are passed to page 7 and the fields are correctly populated. As the form correctly identifies these fields as database columns, when you click Apply Changes, the insert can take place.

We have a requirement to include additional information in the email notification sent by the workflow to the approver, like
1) Having Invoice Currency Code and PO Number in the header of the notification
2) Adding static text on the body.
3) Also need to add a sentence in the standard text which comes at the bottom of the notification and need to remove the extra RESULT region which is coming in the notification. (Highlighted in bold)
Please click on one of the following choices to automatically generate an E-mail response. Before sending the E-mail response to close this notification, ensure you have provided the reason for rejection within the quotes ‘ ‘ in the body of the email.

Adding Custom Fields to Communication Structure of 2LIS_02_ITM (MCEKPO)

I have a question about addiing additional fields (KO_PPRCTR) into MCEKPO and enabling it as part of 'true' DELTA.
The question is then:
Does the fact that we have this Custom field from EKPO added to MCEKPO would cause DELTA to be triggered automatically each time this field would change? (irrespective of whether a Standard field in MCEKPO has also changed or not).

"if you change a purchasing document, the system only takes into consideration the data that is relevant for extraction. The system therefore only executes a delta update for this DataSource if changes are made to purchasing document header data or item data that has a corresponding field in the DataSource."
which means only changes to standard fields of the datasource will trigger a delta update.
But who knows, Stefan's answer may be right. Practice is the sole criterion for testing truth, so why not have a test?

HT1660 Do the library files include user-added information on books?

I've been (re)organizing my books by genre (and occasionally audience) and want to know if this work will be wasted if I need to use the library files to move or reinstall iTunes at any point.

My understanding is that meta data is written back to books, both audiobooks and iBooks/ePub, though not PDF files. That said you should ideally backup your library and transfer it properly from one system to another to make sure you don't lose any of the information that is not stored in the media files themselves....
These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library, though you'll need to use an equvialent tool such as Carbon Copy Cloner if you ever move to a Mac.
If you have an iOS device that syncs with contact & calendar data on your computer you should migrate this information too. If that isn't possible create a dummy entry of each type in your new profile and iTunes should offer to merge the existing data from the device into the computer, otherwise the danger is that it will wipe the information from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data. If you don't have any Apple devices then see HT2519 - Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store.

Thanks to all who responded. You are all absolutely correct. However, this Ipad was a gift to my wife who was dying of cancer in the hospital and wanted some entertainment. So I started it out with her Apple ID. After she passed away I moved from Sacramento to Austin and eventually proceeded to get the Apple ID changed from my wife's to mine. Meanwhile when she was in the hospital I opened an Itunes account in my name to buy movies for her. That was the first mistake.
Then during the move to Austin I lost track of the IPAD and later found it and tried to use support but could not remember the proper ID. Later the folks at the Apple store helped me create a new and novel Apple ID that was unfortunately unlike any other.
The botom line is that I am stuck with three Apple IDs and three passwords. I am told by Apple there is nothing they can do about this as IDs cannot be changed or destroyed. I can quit using them or start a new account but when I try to do that the system keeps remembering too many things from the past and resists.
Even if I sold this Ipad and bought a new one, the system memory is still there.
I think the real problem is that destop and laptop computers are totally owned by an individual and that individual can control logins and passwords to his liking. IPADs and similar Apple products are different in that the corporation has built in their own intrusion detection schemes because of the relation to Itunes.
One thing I thought about is to open a new Itunes account pretendding to be a new customer with my regular Apple ID. Perhaps I could do the same with Apple Support.

Do not remove information about the community with out replacing said information.

Policy changes ok. What things are about, or the meaning of items, should stay here until something is new to replace these pieces of information.

My bad. I guess with newer information, the older Jamie_Lee stuff regarding user levels, has just been bumped towards the bottom, and is still there, as pointed out by SomeGirl. I just over looked most of it.
I just posted this because of other items being discussed. Please disregard, as it was an error on my part. The information is still there, but with the last site upgrade it is not exactly in the same place. (sort of)

Fillable PDF will not print information added by user

Any suggestions on how to get a fillable PDF form which was created by me and filled in by someone else to print their added information? I can see their information on screen, but only the original form is printing. The form was created with Acrobat Pro X (v10.1.4).

Did you create the form?
Can you print the form and fields on your system?
Did you make the fields "display but do not print"?

2LIS_02_ITM - Adding fields to communication structure - User exit

I have read the weblog of Roberto Negro concerning the possibility of adding fields to the communication structure of an extractor.
In his article he talks about MCVBAK and so on and refers to enhancements MC10001, MC50001, MC60001.
I am trying to do the same with 2LIS_02_ITM.
The communication structures are MCEKKO and MCKPO.
Can someone explain how to proceed in order to locate the approporiate user exit ?
