Edited by: Ting Chen on Mar 15, 2010 11:48 PMTing on ECC side BW Business Content is installed via so called plug-ins.
See following blog for details:
http://sapport.blogspot.com/2008/06/bicont-pibasis-st-pi-pi-r3-plug-in-see.html
Since you are running ECC and not R/3 in this case SAP delivers "all" plug-ins in one package called PI_BASIS. In your case it seems that you are on same level of this component which is:
PI_BASIS 701 0005 SAPK-70105INPIBASIS Basis Plug-In
Hope this helps,

Hi all,
I am working on a project where we have to use "Site" as description for 0PLANT info-object.The problem I am facing is that the content release for 0Plant in Devlopment is 3.2 where as in production it is 7.0.
Can anyone tell me what can be the reason for this difference?
Thank you.Hi Sonia,
Thanks for ur reply.U mean to say that the newer content for 0Plant is installed in production, but not in development, right?
If i change the discription of 0Plant in development, will it affect all the info-cubes and the multiproviders? Will all ths get deactivated?
Thanks.

Include the Content Released status flag in default WC data control
Hi,
We have integrated custom webcenter portal application with UCM for documents integration. The integration was done using default data control. When we change the document which is getting displayed in the portal from UCM and check it into the system, wokflow gets triggered properly and the content status shows review status. But when we access the document in the portal, at that point of time new document is visible even though the content is still not released from the system.
Can anyone of you let me know how to include the released status of the content in the default data control so that we can avoid this situation
Regards,
BoopathyFirst of all, I think this is more a question to WebCenter Portal, because it is how WebCenter Portal components are written.
Another thing is, that this is probably 'works as designed' and there might be good reasons for that. Since PS3, WebCenter (Portal) exposes some of UCM's functionality, among them ability to approve items in a workflow. This is the reason why it makes a good sense that items are available. Of course, they should be available only to approvers; also unapproved items should not appear if an item is displayed via Content Presenter (compare to a document published on a website via WCM). If you found such a behaviour, please, report it to MetaLink as it might be a bug. -
Hello,
I have a question concerning the activation of objects of BI Content (Release 703, Level12). When searching for a 3.x datasource (for example 0PM_OM_OPA_3) in the value help the datasource I want to activate is missing in our development BI system. In the productive system the BI content has the datasource as a possibility to activate. I activated and replicated the datasource in the system. Is there a technical step I have to activate for BI Content or maybe for meta data repository. Any help is appreciated!!!
Thanks a lot!
AlineThe BI Content Standard dont...but the objects you activated...yes you can reactivate the same object...you have a very strange problem....when you select in Datasources 3.X in BI content you dont see this datasource.....i think is a Basis problem.....i have exactly the same BI Content level than you and i can see it in my system....
Sometimes in new installations theres som BI Content problems like this....

Thanks
PinkyHi Alexander,
I came across the same issue and I got the solution from you. Thanx for it.
But adding to it I noticed that in R/3 end I am not able to find the datasource for the following DSO 0RT_DS07.
DataSource: 0RT_PURCH_PRICE_PUORG_ATTR
Have any Idea why is is so ?
SAP_BW 700 0016 SAPKW70016 SAP NetWeaver BI 7.0
This is in R/3, SP 16. Do I need to do anything in R/3 too?

Hi,
We hv new BI server with BI content Release 703 Level 002. Does it Hv all the support packs for MDM BI Integration like BI 3.53 0006.
Thanx in Advance.
Regrads,
Anand Kdear Noé,
please find my answer in for the same posting in 'business content and extractor
hope this helps.
it's sufficient to post in one forum for the same question
bw business content objects have version delivered, active and modified version. sap delivers the business content objects in delivered version (D), so when you install bi content 3.53, all the activated business content objects from version 3.52 won't be overwrite/replaced, it will keep using 3.52.
but the next time you activate new business content objects, it will transfer the 3.53 delivered objects to 'active' objects.
yes, you need backup, since bi content 3.5x come as 'add-on', i think there is 'no return'.
hope this helps.

Tnventory Management Weekly snapshot 0IC_C03
Hi,
We are trying to instal the stocks Flow, with the 0IC_C03 cube. Our Business Content (Release 703 Level 8) has the new Infosources (2LIS_03_BF_TR, 2LIS_03_BX_TR and 2LIS_03_UM_TR) and the related transformations from the Infosources to the cube. But We've realized taht there is not one of the Transformations from 2LIS_03_BF datasource to 2LIS_03_BF_TR infosource. (The othrer 2 transformations appear in our Business Content)
We are thinking to do the following: mantain the transformations for the 2LIS_03_BX and 2LIS_03_UM side, and copy from another business Content (manually, of course) the 2LIS_03_BF side. Has anybody know if it is OK?
On the other hand, we need to create a Weekly snapshot, and reviewing the document "How to... handle Inventory Management Scenarios in BW", there is described the process to make a monthly snapshot if the old flow of the 3 datasources (2LIS_03_BF, 2LIS_03_BX and 2LIS_03_UM) is built (the flow with the Transfer and Update Rules)
So, is it recomended to implement the old flow for the 3 datasources (the one with Transfer and Update Rules)? And does anybody knows how can we modify the routines in order to make it weekly, not monthly?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Best regardsHello Angel Moro,
Were you able to implement weekly snapshot cube? If yes, Can you please email me step by step how you did it at [email protected] -
Error to install Add-On BI Content (TCode SAINT)
I am trying to install "BI Content" from Tx SAINT but I get the following message
The installation was stopped, since an error occurred during the phase CHECK_REQUIREMENTS, which the Add-On Installation Tool is unable to
resolve without your input.
After you have corrected the cause of the error, continue with the import by choosing Continue in the queue display.
The following details help you to analyze the problem:
- Error in phase: CHECK_REQUIREMENTS
- Reason for error: QUEUE_NOT_EMPTY
- Return code:
- Error message:
Notes on phase CHECK_REQUIREMENTS
Not how to solve this problem in order to complete the installation, someone can give me some information about it.
I do not have any connected system, I have just finished installing "BW"
I'm doing at the moment the same configuration, so that they can the Client Copy and then connect with R3
check the "TCode RSA7" and this is empty, which may be more?
I do not want to have to reinstall.
This installation was done on a machine that was running BW 7, but due to problems blocking accounts are uninstall. It was possible to make a new facility but presents the problem that leaves no install "Business Intelligence Content 7.03" I'm doing as the "Note 916834 - BI_CONT 7.03: Installation and upgrade information" through the "TCode SAINT", but achieving do this does not help anything installation.
The operating system is Windows 2003 Server and the database SQL Server 2000!!
After the test load "Add-On BI Content", try loading the corresponding Support Packages and tells me the same mistake, try to do that from the TCode SPAM, someone can give me some indication on how to solve this problem at the moment I am unable to BW work.

Edited by: Manuel Sandoval on Jul 21, 2008 10:12 PMTry reset the queue status then delete the queue. I think you can use SPAM for this, not sure if SAINT has the ability to do it.
Aftewards, try:
1. Lock all users in your system, cycle the system to ensure all users are logged off.
2. Disable the batch user as well, to make sure no jobs are running.
3. Backup the input buffer file (should bein the trans\buffer folder). After backing up the file, delete the file.
4. Goto STMS and check the import buffer, press F5. The buffer should be empty now.
5. Return to SAINT and reimport the component, it should be successful now. -
BI Content objects not showing up
Hi gurus,
We have newly installed ECC 6.0 and BI has come within the package.
i.e. RSA1 is working.
However, there doesn't exist any of the standard cubes, DSOs, queries, etc (There's no Business Content available).
What have we missed during installation?
Do we need to install an add-on, or something like that to have application component BI_CONT active ?
Thanks in advance,
Dilek

BI Content Infoobjects missing
Hi All,
I am using SAP demo version of BI 7.0 to practice at a training class. I have got BI all setup to practice. However I am missing a lot of Business Content delivered objects like InfoObject, InfoCubes etc.
I checked the table RSDIOBJ and only see 516 records in it. In my dev sandbox at work I see 27212 records. What could be the problem here in the training system.
I know there is some xml import feature that allows you to export infoobjects/cubes etc from one BI system and import them to another one. Can I export them from the dev sandbox and import it into the demo system?
Also is there any other way to import the Business Content objects. Points will definitely be awarded..Hi,
It is because your BI training system does not have software component BI_CONT release 703. you can check it according to path: system --> status --> magnifier .

Unable to collect Update/Transfer rules Info & Data sources from BI content
Hi,
We are tyring to activate Infoprovider 0PY_CO2 from BI content by selecting the option - In data before. BI is unable to collect all corresponding objects such as Update rules, Info source, transfer rules and the data source for the selected Infoprovider. Only Info area and associated info objects are being collected for the installation.
We are experiencing same problem whilst acitvating most of the info providers. However, in some cases, either of these objects get activated but not all the necessary objects that feed data to the Infoprovider (cube or multi provider).
Also, Infopackages and Info object catalogs are not being collected for any objects activated/installed so fare from the BI content.
We are trying to activate BW 3.5 content on the BI 7.0 environment. BI Content release is 703 and support pack level is 008.
Kindly share any pointers to troubleshoot this probelm please.
Thanks
VenkatShiv,
For some Info providers, all associated info objects(including transfer & update rules and info source and data sources) are getting collected and got successfuly installed. But this is true for only 10% of the Info providers that we have installed so far.
Remaining all the objects, we are unable to proceed further.
Thanks

Hi,
We were using BI Content 703 for our development. Later we installed BI Content 704 for the BI. 7 dataflow (transformations) in some areas like materails management. But we found that some transformations delivered are in error. Is it possible to downgrade the verssion 704 to 703, since we have decided that we will use the old 3.5 data flow available with version 703?. If yes, Kindly explain the steps.
Thanks in advance.
Rajeeve PatricHi Rajeeve,
Just reinstall the BI_CONT release 703, that will overwrite the version 704. But just a suggestion that, in this version, there are a few errors in Start Routines of some transformations, which can be solved. Please try and find SAP notes or raise a call with SAP. Its better to use the 7.0 dataflow instead of 3.x.
Hope it helps.

Unable to find Update rules in BI content
Hi All,
We are unable to find the update rules for the datasource
2LIS_03_BX
2LIS_03_BM
2LIS_03_UF
in the Business Content for the cube 0IC_C03
But we can find the update rules for the datasource 2LIS_40_S278 for the cube 0IC_C03
The BI content was of Release 703 (level 0011) in our system.
What might be the reason for this ?Hi Surya,
How are you collecting the BI content.
In BI content select the datasource and collect data flow afterwards. You will get update rule in it.

Viren
