ADF view access from DataForwardAction - help

Hi,
i want to access an view object which is unrelated to any page bindings in the findForward method of a DataForwardAction class. How do i register the Application module and view objects with the UIModel for the UIX Datapage?
At the moment, it cannot find the view object:
ViewObject vo = ctx.getBindingContainer().getApplicationModule().findViewObject("UserRoleFunctionsView1");
this results in an internal server error:
oracle.jbo.NoObjException: JBO-25003: Object UserRoleFunctionsView1 of type View Object not found
i have tried adding a data model binding on the UIModel assigned to the page, but this does not fix the problem.
can someone please advise what the correct setup procedure is?

The getApplicationModule() method of binding container is for upward compatibility of JClient applications coming from pre-9.0.5 JDeveloper.
The correct way to get your application module from your DataAction, as noted in the ADF Data Binding Primer white paper and as illustrated in the ADF Toy Store Demo, is to:
ApplicationModule am = (ApplicationModule)ctx.getBindingContext().findDataControl("YourAMNameDataControl").getDataProvider();If you have exposed custom AM methods on your client interface, you can use this instead to cast the ApplicationModule to the YourAMName interface:
YourAMName am = (YourAMName)ctx.getBindingContext().findDataControl("YourAMNameDataControl").getDataProvider();

Export the slideshow out of iMovie via the File  ➙  Share ➙ File menu option as a 480p Quicktime movie.
Open iDVD, select a theme and drag the exported QT movie file into the open iDVD window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Follow this workflow to help assure the best quality video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

  • ADF - Accessing view object from a button in a window

    Hi
I am using Jdeveloper 10.1.3.2.0 to build a Swing/ADF application.
I added a method to a view class to call a database procedure.
I use that view as a base of a jTable to display data in a window.
Now I need to call the method that I created in the view class from a button on the same window where I display the data, ideally using the same db connection.
I am quite new to ADF and I have no idea how to get a reference to the view instance in the button method to call my new method. How can I do that? Is there another way to achieve this?
    Thanks!
    Luis

You usually do this by creating the method at the application module level and then exposing it as a client method. You can then drag and drop it onto your form as a button.
See details in the ADF Developer Guide chapters 8.3-8.5:

Do you have antiVirus installed on the sharepoint servers?
These folders may have to be excluded from antivirus scanning when you use file-level antivirus software in SharePoint. If these folders are not excluded, you may see unexpected behavior. For example, you may receive "access denied" error messages when files
    are uploaded.
Please follow this KB and exclude the folders from Scanning.

  • Launching Microsoft Access from Internet Explorer to view a downloaded MDB file opens the wrong file (not a problem if I use Firefox)

When clicking on a link (in Internet Explorer 9) to download an Access MDB file and then choosing to open the file directly in Microsoft Access (2007) instead of saving it, the file is copied to Temporary Internet Files but Microsoft Access tries to open
a different file and displays an (Unrecognized database format) error.
When I click on the option to open the file, the MDB file is copied to Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5 but instead of that file, Access tries to open a different (incorrect) file located in Temporary Internet Files\Content.MSO (e.g. in the above error
message, NativeView.do is an XML file containing an error message).
I don't see this problem with Word, Excel or PowerPoint files. When opening a Word file (without saving) the Word file is copied to Content.IE5 but an identical .tmp file is created in Content.MSO which when opened in Microsoft Word displayed the required file
correctly. The same happens for Excel files. PowerPoint appears to be handled a little differently (no .tmp file created in Content.MSO but the required file is still copied to Content.IE5) but the PPT file is still opened correctly in Microsoft PowerPoint.
I think the Content-Type "application/msaccess" is fine because Internet Explorer does launch Microsoft Access. It just tries to open the wrong file (or so I think). However, it looks like the file type is not being determined. Here is what I noticed
when trying to open different Microsoft Office files using Internet Explorer:
The last one is the MDB file. As you can see, only for this type of file, the "Type" (Microsoft Office Access 2007?) is not displayed in this Open/Save dialog box.
On Firefox, I don't see this problem. When I tried clicking on the link to the MDB file in Firefox, Microsoft Access was launched and the file was opened correctly. Is there something I can do so the MDB file is opened properly using IE? I can add/change headers
in the HTTP response that writes this file to the output stream (on disk) if that helps.
    Thanks for your time!

Sounds like a problem symptom to be discussed in either an IE forum or an Access forum, not here.  How did you come to post here?  ForumsRedesign.  That might be an on-topic issue for this forum.  <eg>
Can you find your way to either of those other forums easily from here?  Another on-topic question for here I think.   ; )

  • Stopping Help Viewer accessing the internet

    Hi,
I'd like to stop the Help Viewer accessing the internet as I occasionally hit network glitches and the help viewer then hangs waiting on the network so that I can't use it.
Can anyone suggest how I do this?
    Many thanks,
    Jens

Try use an app like LittleSnitch
    from the website:
Little Snitch informs you whenever a program attempts to establish an outgoing Internet connection. You can then choose to allow or deny this connection, or define a rule how to handle similar, future connection attempts.

  • I use Djay for my Apple and I would like to use TC as an external hd to access from Djay, however when I look for my external T1 drive I cannot find it in iTunes so I can load onto Djay? Any help?

I use Djay for my Apple and I would like to use TC as an external hd to access from Djay, however when I look for my external T1 drive I cannot find it in iTunes so I can load onto Djay? Any help?

Initially, you asked if you can hardwire your MBA to the TC. The answer is yes, by using the optional USB Ethernet adapter that Apple provides. However, in order for your MBA to access the TC's internal or USB-attached HDD, it would need to establish a network connection to it. This would be true of any NAS device on an Ethernet network. Therein, lies the problem. Your MBA cannot connect to two networks simultaneously.
One option then, would be to have two separate iTunes Media folders; one on the MBA & the other on the TC. This way, you can download the music to your MBA when connected to the Internet at the AirPort lounge, and then use iTunes Consolidate Library feature to transfer the audio files to the TC's iTunes Media Folder location. A great program to help maintain multiple iTunes Librarys and/or Media Folders, that you may want to consider, is PowerTunes.

Did you use the Migration Assistant to help set up the new iMac using some of the files in the older PC? Some likely won't mean much, unless you have applications that can use or convert them. There's also a way to use the software Time Machine to import data files from an external or another computer, so you may have used that, too.
Hopefully someone with experience in a similar issue will reply...
    Good luck & happy computing!

It's likely that your Library database has been damaged in all the crashing.
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
