ADF Workshop - Delete failes

Tried ADF Workshop.
The "Converting Middle-Tier Errors to Struts Messages" part resulted in strange behavior.
If you Click either Yes or Cancel in the Removal Confirmation form the result is the same - showErrors page with message:
Validation Error
You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:
Customer null has outstanding Orders and cannot be deleted.
Whereas the OK button is disabled.
Any ideas?

Hi,
the event you highlighted ses the current Row in Struts. Struts works with events in its action handler to process methods. If you compare the setCurrentRowWithKey value of different links you will notice differences.
The link you pasted below first sets the current row and then deletes it. The workshop is tested and does work

ADF Workshop

I am walking through the ADF workshop from OTN. The one where you build a simple browse/edit/delete on OE.Customers.
I am having 2 'problems' with the walkthrough.
Scenario 1) Deletes do not work. I understand that the proper commit handler is not implemented until well after the 'sure' page flow is developed but afte I build SureAction.jsp I get errors in the oc4j server log (no such Method onDelete)
Scenario 2) In the editCustomers Page. Once I commit and return to browseCustomers my Previous Set and Next Set Buttons now take me back to my editCustomer PAge?

I remember having a similar impression of deletes not working. Are you using an employee from the front of the list (starting with 100, I think). They have associated orders and won't delete because of the related records. Try one from the end of the list. Keep ploughing through it and I think things will come together for you.

Keep the record in the view object if deletion failed.

I have a view object which is based on the entity object, when I am trying to delete a row it failed because it has a child record associate with. I know the row is not delete from the database, but the record is deleted fromt the view.

Today we received a bunch ( thousands of email informing us that the are some synchronization issues.
In the folder "synchronization problems" we constantly receive the following message. Do you have a solution for this?

The environment we are talking about is Exchange 2010 SP1 with Outlook 2010/2007 clients.
We had an operational environment till today.
I can still send and receive email but as soons as I receive an email I am receiving the above displayed message.

I don’t know if this is a bug, because I can't found the same error. I only found the same error code, but the error is a little different. And it explains the warning can be ignored, maybe you can install outlook sp1 to test, someone said sp1
have removed this error code.
So did you install the latest update on outlook 2007 ?
You can also contact Microsoft Customer Support Service (CSS) and submit a case for assistance. The case will be free for charge if it is confirmed to be a bug.

Sales order line delete fails for treetype=S line items

SBO v8.8 PL17
In a Windows Console DI application, I need to delete lines that have TreeType=S from a Sales Order.
I get an error message that the Delete Line Failed and no other details for the error.
I have no trouble deleting the line in the SBO client sales order screen.
Often, the Sales Bill of Materials (SBOM) for the item on the SO line has changed after the line was created.
Could the DI be validating the child item rows (treetype=I) for the father item against the current lines in the SBOM and blocking the deletion because they no longer match?
In any case, how can I get around it or at least find out the actual reason the the line deletion fails?

Is the error description the same when you use old-school error checking?

Deleting Failed Transactions in SAP B1if

How can I delete transactions which have "failed" in processing through B1if?
I attempted to delete one of the groups in the Unit of Measurement Groups which was already assigned to items in the B1 application. This "error" then attempts to replicate to the other databases participating in the Intercompany Integration Solution (IIS). Every time a new attempt is made ("error retry"), the transaction fails and generates a failure alert message.
I know that I can set the B1if to "never attempt to retry errors", but I would like to delete the message from the queue so that I can leave the retry setting at "retry errors every two hours".
I have tried to delete this failed transaction from the B1if queue without any luck thus far. Does anybody know how to delete failed messages from the queue so that they will not attempt a "retry" and thus generate new failed alert message?

You may delete transactions using Intercompany Integration Solution Message Log. The Message Log is a Web application that enables you to view log of Interbranch transactions. You can filter transaction logs by date and time ranges, sender system, or receiver system.
You can access the message log Web application from the machine on which the Intercompany solution is installed, and by using Microsoft Internet Explorer.
To delete the transaction from message queue you may follow the steps below on machine on which the Intercompany solution is installed:
1. Open Start menu and choose Intercompany Administration Console icon.
    Logon Window appears.
2. Enter your login credentials and Logon.
    Intercompany Administration Console appears.
3. Navigate to Monitoring → Message Log, open the Message Log web application.
    On Message page, the upper frame of the window allows you to define a filter for the messages.
4. Enter From date and To date in the respective filters, in Status dropdown menu select Failure and choose Display log.
    In Failure matrix, failed message that confine within above defined filters appears.
5. Choose Delete Log.
    This deletes the log entries.

Sounds like the mail server thinks you are asking to delete the bulk-mail mailbox instead of some/all of the messages within it.
How are you trying to delete your bulk mail messages? That is, what are you doing, step by step, up to the error message.
What you should probably be doing is selecting the bulk mail mailbox, selecting one of more messages inside it, then hitting the "delete" key.

Reinstall of ADFS 3.0 fails during configuration step with error ADRepository.CreateTopContainer

I am installing ADFS 3.0 alongside an existing ADFS 2.0 farm. I followed the steps as detailed here:

That worked fine initially, but I ran into problems and decided to remove ADFS 3.0 completely and start over. When I rerun the the Active Directory Federation Services Configuration Wizard, it gets almost all the way through, but fails with a generic
error of: An error occurred while trying to configure this machine.
Down below in the Detailed operation results, it displays:
ADRepository.CreateTopContainer
I am guessing I haven't cleared out something in Active Directory, but I'm not sure what that is.
In my research, I found suggestions for deleting everything under ProgramData\Microsoft\ADFS, but I don't believe I can do that since I am still relying on the ADFS 2.0 installation until I can cut over.
Any help would be much appreciated.

ADFS 2.0 uses IIS and so the installation is under /inetpub/adfs/ls.
There's also a backup here:

Deleted failed DC from the domain (Server 2012 R2) - Now after doing metadata and DNS cleanup, I can no longer promote a new DC to the domain

I work for a university and teach IT courses to undergrad and graduate students. The details below are pertaining an isolated lab environment
I had a storage failure in my lab and the DCs became corrupt. This is a university lab environment so there isn't anything crucial on here. I just would rather avoid rebuilding the domain/forest and would rather use this as a learning experience with my
students...
So after the storage failed and was restored, the VMs hosted became corrupt. I did a NTDSUTIL to basically repair the NDTS.dit file but one of my DCs reverted to a state before DC promotion. Naturally, the domain still had this object in AD. After numerous
failed attempts at trying to reinstall the DC on the server through the server manager wizard in 2012 R2, I decided that a metadata cleanup of the old failed object was necessary.
Utilizing this article, I removed all references of the failed DC from both AD and DNS (http://www.petri.com/delete_failed_dcs_from_ad.htm)
So now that the failed object is removed completely from the domain and the metadata cleanup was successful, I then proceeded to re-install the necessary AD DS role on the server and re-promote to the existing domain. Pre-Requisites pass but generate some
warning around DNS Delgation, and Dynamic Updates (delegation is ignored because the lab is isolated from external comms, and dynamic updates are in fact enabled on both my _msdcs and root domain zones).
Upon the promotion process, I get the following error message (also worth mentioning - the account performing these operations is a member of DA, EA, and Schema Admins)
The operation failed because:
Active Directory Domain Services could not create the NTDS Settings object for this Active Directory Domain Controller CN=NTDS Settings,CN=domainVMDC1,CN=Servers,CN=Default-
First-Site-Name,CN=Sites,CN=Configuration,DC=domain,DC=school,DC=edu on the remote AD DC domainVMDC2. Ensure the provided network credentials have sufficient permissions.
"While processing a change to the DNS Host Name for an object, the Service Principal Name values could not be kept in sync."
As you can see, this error seems odd considering. Now that I'm down to a single DC and DNS server, the sync should be corrected. I've run a repadmin /syncall and it completed successfully. Since then, I've run dcdiags and dumped those to a text as well and

From what I can gather, there is a definite DNS issue but I don't have any stale records to the old DC stored anywhere. I've tried this with a new server as well and get similar errors...
At this rate I'm ready to rebuild the entire forest over again. I'm just reluctant to do so as I want to make this a learning experience for the students.

As you can see, there seems to be some errors. The one that I did correct was the one around the _msdcs NS record being unable to resolve. For whatever, reason the name wasn't resolving the IP but all other NS tabs and records were. Just that one _msdcs
sub-zone. Furthermore, the mentioning of any connections to root hint servers can be viewed as false positives. There is no external comms to this lab so no communication with outside IPs can be expected. Lastly, they mentioned a connectivity issue yet mention
that I should check the firewall settings. All three profiles are disabled in Windows Firewall (as they have been the entire time). Thank you in advance for your help!

DTP to Open Hub - How to delete failed previous request?

I have instituted the use of an open hub destination to export data to a csv file using a process chain.
Occasionally, the attempt fails and subsequent runs of the process chain also fail because the previous attempt is "red".
Is there any way to specifically delete the failed request from within the process chain?
The error message speaks of setting the "Automatically Repeat Red Requests in Process Chains" indicator, but I have not found it!
I will award points to helpful solutions.

But what I am asking is how to embed this in a process chain so that each time it runs, it first deletes all previous requests. There is such a command for regular DTP's but not for the ones that export to open hub. At least they do not appear in the F4 list when trying to generate this command in the process chain.
Therefore, I am still looking for either the mentioned indicator which can be set for (all) DTP's or for a way to delete all related requests from within a process chain.

ADF Application Deployment Failing in Upgraded Web logic Server

Hi,
We have recently upgraded our weblogic server from *10.3.3* to *10.3.5* and also migrated ADF application from JDev *11.1.1.3* to *11.1.2.1* . Finally deployed migrated ADF application which was running fine on * Weblogic 10.3.3* to Weblogic 10.3.5.
And we too installed the necessary libraries in the upgraded weblogic server and deployed our application.
This all went well and when we restarting the server ... server failed to restart with the following exception. Please help me with your suggestions what exactly would be the issue.

[ADF] Adding/deleting entries in a many-to-many relationship

I am using JDeveloper 10.1.3 and the ADF BC / ADF Model / ADF Faces / JSF technology stack.
For this question, I am using the SRDemo application as an example, specifically the many-to-many relationship between USERS and PRODUCTS (the Staff Expertise relationship), outlined in red in this schema diagram: Image Link
Users may have any number of product expertise areas and many users may have the same product expertise area. For the purposes of this example I have added two reference fields from the PRODUCT table into the ExpertiseAreas VO (Name and Description), outlined in red in this data control palette section: Image Link
I have created a page which shows the details of a user (1), along with a table showing the expertise areas the user has (3), and a table of all the products available (2), numbered on this design page: Image Link and corresponding to the numbered data controls on this data control palette section: Image Link, where 1 is rendered as an ADF Read-only Form, 2 is an ADF Read-only Table with a tableSelectMany element in the selection facet, and 3 is also an ADF Read-only Table.
What I am trying to do is have the tableSelectMany element reflect which of the products are linked to the current user in the expertise areas relationship (by having the checkbox for currently linked products checked), and when you check or uncheck a product's checkbox, it should add or remove the row in the EXPERTISE_AREAS intersection table, respectively (asume for this example that there are default values for Expertise Level and Notes).
So far I have been following the process used in section 19.8 of the ADF Developer's Guide for Forms/4GL Developers, which describes how to set up a selectManyShuttle which implements the adding and deleting functionality. So I have a Client Interface method in the Application Module, updateSkillsForCurrentStaff (described in section 10.6.7.2), and I have a selection listener for the assignment table in the backing bean for the page, which calls the updateSkillsForCurrentStaff method:

All of this works, but I can't work out how to link the selection state of the assignment table to the expertise areas that are linked to the user. Also I think the method listing above must be a bit of a hack, but I don't know enough about this to know if there's an easier way of doing it.

It might not be the first way one thinks to implement something, but it illustrates a very interesting, model-centric approach to the problem you propose.
My feelings won't be hurt if you prefer a more view-centric approach, but I wanted to illustrate what was a maximally-model-centric solution (in fact, which doesn't even require a backing bean!) If you like a more view-centric approach, I can help you figure out what's wrong with your key-handling above. For one, I would probably start by passing the Set of Key's directly to the middle tier application module method to eliminate client-side code.
Check it out and let me know what you think. Try it directly in the Business Components Tester to appreciate one of the benefits a model-centric solution can bring.

Deleting failed request from DSO leading to delete of INIT of DSO to Cube

data flows from ds1, ds2 and ds3 to dso1 as delta. the data is then taken from dso1 to cube1 via delta
data flows from ds3 to dso2 as delta. the data is then taken from dso2 to cube 2 via delta.
when a data is loaded from ds1 or ds2 or ds3 to dso1.. or when data is loaded from ds3 to dso2.. now if we try to delete this un activiated request from lets say dso1. it gives and error that the init from dso1 to cube1 would be deleted as the data has already been data marted.
this happens even if the request in dso1 is inactive successful or inactive failed.
i did an init of ds1,ds2, ds3 to dso1. and also did an init from dso1 to cube1. but the problem persists.
though if all goes good. like no failures in the load, then all is well.
but if the load failed. say ds2 to dso1 failed. then when we attempt to delete this request from dso1, it says that it has already been uploaded to cube1 and the init will have to be deleted. here when we checked the datamart sign in dso1, it looks like the newly loaded n unactivated data is somehow assosiated with the dso1tocube1 init.
any thoughts?

How have you connected DS01 and Cube 1? Transformation or update rules? How have you done the initialization?
What is the version SAP BW that you are using?
Have you checked any relevant SAP Notes?
