Admin problem activating Firevault in User a/c

Have activated FireVault in my Admin a/c & in one user a/c, no problems. However in the last a/c  , my partners its refusing to acknowledge my admin password which is valid. There's is plenty of HD space available. Any Suggestons? There's is nothing (data,photos) much in the a/c so one option is thrash it & create a new one but before I do this I just wanted to see if there's is a reason why this is happening.

apologies for the late reply but tried earlier via by 5S but was unable to post a reply.
Your last Q got me thinking as when I looked at the profile last night before initiating thread the user had admin rights which I then removed, no problem. When I returned home a little while ago tonight I tried to activate FireVault using her user name & password = no luck. I tried again with admin rights = no luck. Finally I tried again using admin password but this time I changed the case of the first letter & yes it worked. Seems strange but you may have an answer. In the other two profiles I had no issue & even now re. logging in & making other admin changes the lower case version of the password works.
We had a break-in 2 days ago & we were v fortunate. He had the iMac removed but was interrupted. Hence my FireVault activation.

    If you entered a Organisational Unit in the Domain Management page,  please try clearing the OU field and try re-adding the unit to the domain.  
    After that is done, please try checking if the domain user and groups are accessible from User and Groups page.

  • Problem with CS4 activation using student users

    Hi,
    I am working at a school and over the last few weeks we have rebuilt our network from a 2003/xp to 2008R2/Win7 network so have had to remake a lot of software packages. We have created and deployed CS4 with success across the network but seem to have an activation problem with a specific user type.
    This user  type is with student accounts which use a seperate group policy to the staff accounts. When students log in and the PC has not had any CS4 programs started before, it comes up with the activation window prompting to start a trial (does not work) or activate with a serial number (also does not work), which should not happen as the serial is built into the deployment. When staff log in and run the software it works fine and activates with no problem. So this is not an activation issue, more of a technical issue.
    This is causing a problem as for us to activate all of the CS4 software we have to log onto each pc as a staff member, open Photoshop (or another CS4 program), close it then log in as the student for it to work. (This is only needed once per PC, but is time consuming with over 400 computers.)
    The only main difference between the staff and student accounts are that students use mandatory profiles (with roaming appdata) and staff use fully roaming profiles. There are other policies in place for students but none that I can see would stop the activation process from working.
    So my question is, does anyone know what could be stopping this activation from working?

    Welcome to the Apple community Kobra.
    Unfortunately, you cannot do very much with your phone unless you get assistance from the previous owner, they should either provide you with the password to unlock it or remove their account from the phone entirely remotely through iCloud.com > Find My Phone.

  • Sharepoint 2013 - Active Directory Import User Profile Property manager fields

    Hi there,
    I juste encountered actually a little issue regarding the Active Directory Import User Profil.
    Importation seems to work well but I have a little problem regarding the Manager field.
    When I verify a user profil through the sharepoint admin page ("Manage user profil") , I can see the manager field is correctly populated, but if I want to check my profil as a user (personal information), the manager field is not visible.
    With Sharepoint Admin and Manage Profil Properties, I haven't the possibility to modify some settings for the manager.
    For example, Policy parameters is greyed.
    The only way I found to show this field in a user profil is to give the permission "allow users to Edit values ...".... setting I don't want to set.
    Have you already this sort of issue ?

    I don't remember well what I did exactly regarding this issue because I played a lot with user profil.
    I know I used this powershell script from Sheyia which in fact help me a lot to clean and create a good profil setting.

  • List of logon/logoff activity for a user in specfied date range

    Hello all,
    We have a requirement to check the activity of two users. It is requested that we get their logon/logoff and timeout activity in our PRD system for a specfic range of dates.  To retrieve that info do we have to be auditing their user ID's or can it be retrieved via ST03N or some other report?
    I was not sure whether this information would be available via a lookup in the USR02 table or not.

    Unfortunately login has more than one spot as it is dependent on contexts and authorizations even.
    Logoff could be network problems with a keepalive timeout, or server side session end, or client side termination (there are many clients).
    Hopefully we will have more infos. Perhaps we can influence the authentication and client protocol because SAML supports single-log-off which might work with message based authentication but lead to a rather long log...

  • Help with Admin Problems

    Ok so I have been blessed with the most unlucky of situations anybody could Imagine. My Dilemma is that I now have a new Macbook Pro running Mavericks 10.9.4 as my old one is many, many years old. Now the problem is that I need to unlock the gold padlock on the old computer running 10.5.8 but there is no admin account? All of the users say standard and I thought I had used to be the admin but now its gone. So I looked up ways of fixing the problem including one specific one: Restart computer, Hold command+s, type: "mount -uw /" then: "rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone" then: "reboot" and had gone through all the settings and set up a new account but the account it made is still only a standard and not an Admin account! And since I still don't have an admin I cannot even delete the new standard account. My poor old Mac is running out of memory and disk room. Any ideas on anything I can do as I no longer remember where the startup discs were put, cannot gain access to any admin privileges, can not unlock anything I need to get to, and have not tried an Apple store yet as I heard they will not do it for you. Anybody have suggestions as I can't get any of my important files off my old mac or even activate our time machine cause it requires the admin info as well

    The first user on Mac is also has administrator rights, so use your password for the account.

  • From schema 1 to schema 2 migration delegated admin problem

    I want migrate from schema 1 to schema 2 the messaging server 6.2 ( jes 2005q1).
    I have install access manager and delegated admin.
    With the commdirmig I migrate the domain and schema , the messaging work correctly.
    I have a problem with the delegated admin web interface.
    The delegated don't view my domain. If I add the sundelegatedorganization objectclass I can view my domain on delegated admin but I can view user and group.
    Any Idea?

    There are two very different products called "deletaged admin". The old iPlanet Delegated Admin (iDA) only works with Schema 1. The current Delegated Admin, that comes with JES3 only works with Schema 2.
    If you're using the old iDA that worked with schema 1, it won't work with schema 2. You have to install the new DA for that.
    It doesn't work with groups/lists, only with users and domains.

    Have you created another admin user? Go to system preferences click users and click the + to add a user; if you haven't already. Once you have another admin user other then the "test" user make sure you're signed out of the test user account. Sign in with the alternate ADMIN USER that you just created or had created already and go back to SYSTEM PREFERENCES and click the same USERS icon near the bottom. Now select the TEST user and click the - sign. This should prompt you if your sure you want to delete the user account. And your done.
    New User created and Test User deleted... I hope this helps.

The first time I invoked the application, I received an error message that the maximum activation count (1 user) had been reached. I had 30 days to deactivate one user and activate this computer, What has to be done to overcome this problem?

    How can we get the activity of a user i.e. Which transaction a particular user has gone or some activity log on a particular date? Any table, FM or Tcode. I have already checked the STAD and SM20 transactions. Some authorization problem. So anything except these Tcodes would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

    Actually I am doing a root cause analysis for which I need to know whether a particular user has used a particular TCode. I guess the STAD will display only the current data, is there a TCode to display historical data related to user accessing a particular data. Note: I don't have basis authorization.

  • L300-1BW admin problems

    Can someone please help? I have had this laptop for a while now and have been meaning to fix this problem for a while. This laptop is for my daughter to use and so I set up an adult admin account and an user account for my daughter. I then added parental control to the user account. It was a while ago, but now every time I try to log in the password will not work on the admin account. I have tried all my passwords which could possibly have been used but none work. Also, If I try to do something which requires admin approval whilst in the user account there is no curser within the prompt to indicate that I may type my admin password, and if I type the password anyways the OK button stays greyed out and it cannot be clicked. Can anyone tell me what to try? My Toshiba L300-1BW runs windows vista home premium as bought.

    That system shipped with a Recovery Partition that can be used to restore the system to it's out of box state.  It's the customers responsibility to create seperate Recovery Disks from that partition using the included Recovery Disk Creator as outlined in your User's Guide that is found on your hard drive in Adobe Acrobat Format.  Normally you go to "Start - All Programs - Toshiba - Recovery - Recovery Disk Creator" to create them, but your model could be different (I don't have the manual to check). 
    Since that appears to be a European Model you might have better luck posting this in the European Support Forum if no one here has any ideas (I don't other than backing up your files and then restoring to it's out of box state).  
    If you don't post your COMPLETE model number it's very difficult to assist you. Please try to post in complete sentences with punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Toshiba does NOT provide any direct support in these forums. All support is User to User in their spare time.

  • Problems Setting Up Developer Users

    I am having a problem setting up developer users and I am trying to determine if I am missing a step or if there is a configuration problem on my staging and production systems.
    What I want to do should be very simple. I want to create a user that can create an application and see the information under the "Application" tab in the Navigator.
    I have created the user using the following steps on 3.0.9.82 for Unix:
    1. Create the user
    2. Make the user a full administrator (rather than end user)
    3. Make the user a member of the portal_developers group
    4. Make the user's default group the portal_developers group
    However, when I do this the user does not see the information under the
    "Application" tab. The only way I can get the user to see the info under the
    "Application" tab is to make him a member of the Portal_administrators
    and/or DBA group. Both my staging and production boxes have the same result.
    Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on what might be happening?

    My AOL emails work VERY fast with BB, in fact almost simultaneously received on PC & Torch " ping ping!"
    This issue only raised its ugly head when I had 2 Torches replaced by my insurers. 
    Whilst the claim was in process I used a new Curve, loaded from backup on PC to keep emails going and of course phone & web facilities. ( I use the BB to power internet via bluetooth to my PC / laptop when living on a remote island with no phone lines or power supplies)  All was fine. Swapping email accounts took a few minutes with the usual password confirmations for each AOL screenname etc. 
    Then the new Torches came back from insurers, and I tried to swap devices. Phoning & texting is fine. Al data and contacts swap over fine.
    SETUP email accounts.............stymied every time. It says repeatedly that my user name/password is invalid etc etc etc
    Have tried security wipes. Have tried setting up new BB ID & passwords on PC website. All is OK until I try to setup emails on the Torches.  This has used up ridiculous amounts of time- all wasted.
    I love the BB phones and the fast email push......in fact I recently bought a new Sony Xperia Z1 but sent it back because of wifi coverage meant no emails on that superb phone for lots of the time.
    Good old BB I said..........I always get emails wherever I am. ( Rural Scotland has very patchy radio & wifi coverage)  
    Was about to purchase new Z10s just to get a bigger screen, but now I am averse to buying ANY BB phone again because this present mess means I may never get emails set up again.  How nuts is that?
