Admin server is not there

I get a 404 when I call

Is there a quick a solution for this ? What log should I look up ?
This was a fresh installed and I've seen this issue since the begining...

  • BEA-141151 The admin server could not be reached at ...

    I have been at this for 3 days now... I created a new ManagedServer, but I'm not able to make it connect to the Admin server.
    The Admin server is running and listening on port 5306. I can connect to the Admin Console (web).
    I can also connect to the Admin server via WLST, using this command: connect('operator','operator01','t3://localhost:5306')
    However, when I try to run the managed server from a script, it does not see the Admin server. This is the command I run:
    java -Dweblogic.Name=ManSer1 -Dweblogic.management.server=t3://localhost:5306 -Dweblogic.RootDirectory=<path to my domain> weblogic.Server
    This is the error I get:
    <BEA-141151> <The admin server could not be reached at http://localhost:5306.>
    I believe it's trying to connect using "http", because I've never actually connected in the past. Here is a website explaining this: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/web.1111/e13749/weblogicserver.htm#i1031832
    Note: Regardless of which protocol you specify, the initial download of a Managed Server's configuration is over HTTP or HTTPS. After the RMI subsystem initializes, the server instance can use the T3 or T3S protocol.
    I'm not sure what else to try... Firewalls are not in play, since this is traffic moving around on the local machine. I'm running on SunOS. Weblogic is version 9.2 MP3.
    Appreciate any help.

    Is the NodeManager , AdminServer running ?The NodeManager is not running. Is it required?
    Also, I haven't closed the command prompt.
    I noticed the issue when I tried to deploy my project. Connected to Localhost/7001 but in the deploy project window, I dont see any soa_server instance
    running. Also, in the console the soa_server status is shutdown.

    and the managed server running independence of admin server, as well as admin server can not establish jmx:t3 connection with the managed server on its SSL port
    also in admin server log i got this error

  • Essbase admin server is not responding in 11.1.2.2 and related services ??

    Hi All,
    I've installed & configured Hyperion 11.1.2.2. When i entered admin & password in EAS console, the message is displaying as Essbase Administration server is not responding. Can you pls. let me know, what is the service for Essbase Admin services. Also when i'm trying the link http://servername:9000/interop, page not found is displaying. Is it must that Hyperion Configuration Manager service should be up & running ? Where i can find the service for shared services ? where i can find all the related services of different hyperion products. Thanks in advance for the help
    Thanks,
    PVR

    If you have deployed all the web applications to a single managed server then there will be one service to start the web apps - "Hyperion EPM Server - Web Application"
    You can tell in the configurator if you have deployed the web apps to a single managed server and - http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vhvxHXJ6C18/T4Wa0iSeW8I/AAAAAAAAEfg/v7ktkUIqmug/s1600/image023.png
    The default port is 9000, if you are still having problems then it is worth checking the logs.
    Cheers

  • Admin Server password not working

    Running Netscape Directory Server 4.1 on Solaris 9.
    I see this:
    [root@arthur]> ldapsearch -D "cn=Directory Manager" -w ******** -b o=netscaperoot "cn=admin-serv-arthur" passwordexpirationtime
    cn=admin-serv-arthur, cn=Netscape Administration Server, cn=Server Group, cn=arthur.cusys.edu, ou=cusys.edu, o=NetscapeRoot
    passwordexpirationtime=20060215123431
    But when I try to modify via:
    [root@arthur]> ldapmodify -D "cn=Directory Manager" -w ******** -f pwexptime.ldif
    where pwexptime.ldif is:
    dn: cn=admin-serv-arthur, cn=Netscape Administration Server, cn=Server Group,
    cn=arthur.cusys.edu, ou=cusys.edu, o=NetscapeRoot
    chnagetype:modify
    replace:passwordexpirationtime
    passwordexpirationtime: 20090215123431
    I get:
    modifying entry cn=admin-serv-arthur, cn=Netscape Administration Server, cn=Server Group,cn=arthur.cusys.edu, ou=cusys.edu, o=NetscapeRoot
    ldap_modify_s: Object class violation
    I can't find passwordexpirationtime as an attribute for any of the associated admin-serv-arthur object classes, thus the object class violation. Then where did it come from in the ldapsearch above?
    How do I change this passwordexpirationtime attribute?

    What about changing the password of this account itself.
    AFAICR (as this werver is quite out-of-date) passwordexirationtime is a operational attribute set by the server itself.
    Read out userpassword with ldapsearch.
    use ldapmodify to changeit to some value
    use ldapmodify again to set it back to the old value.
    General advice:
    It seems youre using a password policy.
    As this old server does not have scoped password policies (like the new server does) you should set up a separate Directory Server instance which holds the "o=netscapeRoot" tree. This one is called the configuration directory server - and it's best practice to have it as a different instance.
    -Bernhard
    Of course ugrading to Directory Server 5.2 is adviced as well because the version you are using is already end of support live.

    after restart admin server, this issue was solved.
    My question is this normal? this could be a issue for high availability.
    Best regards

    Admin server's purpose is - to control other managed servers.For High availability you can use clustered enviroment and other stuffs as suggested by oracle.
    Without running Admin server how security->myrealms>Users will work ?Users will not be available ,that's why you are getting such errors.

  • Admin Server client not contacting server its running on

    Hi All,
    I've got an OS X server that for some reason ( probably due to me pratting around) has decided not to have a working server admin prog. I can fire up the client program and point it at any of the IP addresses that the server is listening on and then you get an error message basically saying that the server admin daemon is not contactable.
    an ls -lrt in /var/log to see if anything shows up gives me
    Jul 31 07:57:38 britten com.apple.SecurityServer[77]: Succeeded authorizing right com.apple.server.admin.streaming by client /usr/sbin/QuickTimeStreamingServer for authorization created by /System/Library/CoreServices/ServerManagerDaemon.bundle.

    and Jul 31 07:58:46 [152] kCGErrorIllegalArgument: _CGXCacheMergeShmem: Invalid mergeShmemID (461)
    in windowserver.log ... but that keeps happening
    I'm running osx server 10.5.7 and my server admin prog is 10.5.3(2789.1.1)
    So ...
    1). How can i find out if the back end daemon is running
    2). what port(s) does it listen on
    3). How can I turn on some logging to see what's happening when I run serve admin
    4). Any other tips as to how to find out why its not working
    Rgds
    Alex

    Just as an update, I tried upgrading the server admin tools to 10.5.7 to match the OS release. Although the install seemed to work i.e. I receive an install completed successfully message " when i click on the "About Server Admin" I still see the version number as 10.5.3 I've tried this under my account which has admin rights and form the root user, both with the same result.
    Looking in the Server Admin directroy, i can see the timestamps associated with some directories have changed while other things haven't. Could I be running bits of 10.5.3 and bits of 10.5.7?

  • Admin Server console not showing Managed Server is running

    I am using WLS 7.0.1.0 SP1 runing on Windows 2000. I have setup a node manager, Admin server and Managed Server as Windows Services. Admin Server has -delaySeconds as 2min. Manager Server(MS) has been made to depend on Admin Server start. When I boot my machine, all the three services come up properly. I can access my application which is running on MS properly. But for some reason the Admin Console doesn't show the MS as running. If I use the Admin Console now to start up MS all it does it "Reconnects to the admin server" since the MS is in started state. What is the reason for this

    It could be the ordering dependency and the rediscovery of the MS by the AS.
    An AS has a notion of where MS's live on disk and it could be an issue with
    AS bouncing in between MS's constant state of upness.
    Cheers

  • Can admin server, but not network machines?

    hopefully this is something with an easy solution. I have a user that should have full admin rights, but doesn't seem to.
    * User can log on/administer the server via Screen Sharing or directly from console.
    * User is in the Administrators and Open Directory Administrators group.
    * When the user logs on from a client machine that is OD-attached, he can't authenticate to make changes on that machine. (eg to install a piece of software)
    I'm not sure why he can't authenticate on the network machine. Do I need to make a local admin account on each of the client machines? Shouldn't a user given server admin privs be allowed to make changes on an OS X client machine? I've been pouring over the docs and the peachpit book that I have to no avail.
    Anybody?

    I'm just an idiot sometimes. I forgot to go in and check "Allow user to administer this computer." I thought I had to go digging in Workgroup Manager somewhere. D'oh!

  • Managed server not communicating back to admin server - JMX issue?

    Hi,
    I have a domain that consisted of:
    1) 2 managed servers deploying an EAR for online use on server A
    2) 1 managed server being used as a Queue Server for the JMS Module/JMS Server on server A
    3) 2 managed servers deploying an EAR for online use on server B
    4) 1 admin server to control the domain on server C
    Servers A, B & C are running win2k3 and I'm using WLS 9.2.3
    We've been shifting our infrastructure and I was tasked with relocating the Queue server to a new win2k8 box, server D. To achieve this 3 options occurred to me (having configured the new machine in my domain):
    1) Change the IP address and machine for the Queue Server and then start it up on the new machine
    2) Create a new Queue server on the new machine, and re-point the targets of the JMS Server and JMS Module to this new Queue server instead of the old one.
    3) Create a new Queue server, new JMS Module and subdeployment and JMS Server, and all the JMS Queues (there are c.25)
    I discounted option 3 due to the sheer amount of changes involved and the scope for error. I tested approaches 1 & 2 using a test domain on the new box first and all went well - the JMS queues could be populated and consumed following the migration to the new machine. For Production I went with approach 1 which was simplest.
    However, despite the Queue server clearly working on the new machine (we've tested populating and consuming documents at both ends), for some reason it does not report back to the queue server - information such as it's health (e.g. OK, although it does report its state (e.g. RUNNING). Furthermore, the JMS queues no longer report their content - they all simply say "There are no items to display".
    Looking in the Queue_Server_1.out file, I can see the following error occurred:

    Now the IP address of the admin server itself is OK (I've XXX out part of the number as it's my client's machines) but it looks like it's trying to connect using the 'admin' protocol, when it should connect using t3s shouldn't it? Any ideas?

    Hi there, thanks for your post. I can confirm that the IP and port can be reached as I've had the networks guys look at this. The issue seems to me to be related to the protocol used to establish the connection.

  • Weblogic Access Logs not getting generated / updated only for Admin server

    Hi All,
    I have a query ,
    We recently noticed that the weblogic access logs for our admin server are not getting generated.
    However we checked that the access logs are getting generated for the managed servers that we have.
    There is not much difference between the logging settings between the admin and the managed servers.
    We thought that there might be some problem with the buffering and that the data might not be written to the files immediately.
    So after researching we found the parameter "-Dweblogic.logging.bufferSizeKB=0" and added that to the java options however it did not make any difference.
    Also we tried modifying the config script as ,
    <server>
    <web-server>
    <web-server-log>
    <buffer-size-kb>0</buffer-size-kb>
    </web-server-log>
    </web-server>
    </server>
    However no luck .....
    We are using weblogic 9.2 MP3 and think there might be some bug with this version , however its hard to believe that the logs are generated and updated for managed servers and not for the admin servers.
    The only thing we notice in the access logs of the admin server is 404 errors.
    Any suggestions ?
    Regards,
    Stacey.

    This has come up recently here:
    access log not writing to disk in a timely fashion
    I didn't find that buffer-size-kb capability in the docs in 9.2. I recommend checking with support.

  • Admin server not running

    Hello,
    We are using wls 10.3.3 located in different unix machine. Using putty we work with the servers from the desktop computers. We want to monitor the JVM using Jrockit mission control from desktop. We have JRMC installed in the Windows XP desktop(JRockit Mission Control 3.1.0 (R27.6.3-40_o, 112101)). I tried to connect the JVM to JRMC using the steps in the below links.
    http://weblogicserveradministration.blogspot.com/2010/10/monitoring-using-jrmc-remotely.html
    http://multikoop.blogspot.com/2009/11/wls-monitoring-oracle-jrockit-jvm-with.html
    And restarted the AdminServer after performing the steps, but we are not sure whether we have edited the JAVA_OPTIONS in the correct place. However the AdminServer did not start. It said the Java Virtual Machine cannot be started. Now we removed the edited settings in startWeblogic.sh file and made the file as before. And restarted the AdminServer, but the Adminserver did not start and showd below error message.

    Hi, where exactly in the file I need to change the settings : oracle/Middleware_1033/user_projects/domains/dev_domain/./config/jps-config.xml . I might have changed the script startWeblogic.sh, but I undo the changes again, since then my admin server is not starting. Kindly help. I am not sure which script I need to change and in that script which location I have to edit?
    I have used below link for help(under the section L.3.4 Other Causes), still I am not able to find anything useful from the link.

  • How can i start the Admin server? may be this will be like clue: "When i try to start the iplanet suite with the start-admin script, i receive the following error:

    bash-2.03# ./start-admin

    so i can not login to console (./startconsole) because the "admin-serv" is not up: "Can not connect to the Admin Server "http://myserver.com:myportnumber/" The URL is not correct or the server is not running." any ideas..."

    "I'm not familiar with the error, but I'll throw in my two cents and hope it leads you somewhere.
    First, be sure you start things in the correct order. LDAP->Admin->Console.
    Be sure you've set nsadminservaccessaddresses and nsadminaccesshosts.
    Do you have problems starting everything up when you aren't using SSL mode?
    You can put startconsole into debug mode with startconsole -D 9 but I don't think there is a start-admin debug mode. You'd have to settle for a truss.
    All in all, you should ask this in the LDAP (User Management & Policy) forum."

    how can i check the nsadminservaccessaddresses and nsadminaccesshosts settings (i'm new on this suite as you can see).
    if i moved some checkbox when the console was ok how can i view that settings in text mode?
    by the way i have another server that can sun console well (port 2125) so what file can i compare to change some wrong settings?
    thanks anyway, another idea?"

    jvm file is in your system file folder.so you can delete that jvm file and to run as it is.
