Afaria Environment setup and technical pre-requisites
Dear Gurus,
Could anyone help in providing the environment setup/technical pre-requisites for setting up the Afaria and its components?
We wanted to implement it in our production environment. Went through the Sybase documentation and got some overview on it. Would appreciate if some one share the documentation implemented in their environment.

Raghu

11g and Coherence (pre-requisite?, included?)
We are planning to work with SOA Suite 11g for a mid scale project.
From the download's site it looks like Weblogic + Coherence "package" is a pre-requisite.
However we see licencing issues as we did not purchase any license for Coherence.
Is Coherence a Formal Pre-Requisite for SOA Suite 11g and/or OSB (service bus) 11g ?
Some people on forums suggest Coherence is "included" in SOA Suite. Would this be the case from the licensing point of view (i.e. licence for SOA Suite / OSB gives us the right to use Coherence without paying separately ?
Last not least, can we install SOA Suite with Weblogic only (no Coherence), even if the download page indicates we should have the Weblogic + Coherence package in place ?
Many thanks,
CL.Hi
1. I am not much familiar with Coherence License stuff. As far as I know, Coherence is used for Caching Framework and is part of the Weblogic Server and it may not have anything to do with SOA Stuff. BUT incase if internally SOA files uses Coherence APIs for Caching, then you may need this component also installed.
2. YES, you can install WLS without coherence. Even though your installer has WLS + Coherence, at the time of installation of WLS, choose the option like Custom (instead of default Typical). In the following screens, you can UnCheck the boxes for Coherence (and its samples). So you get only WLS installed. On top of this install SOA. Create a SOA Domain. Start admin and soa servers. If they start fine without any errors referring coherence APIs, then you are good to go.

CCB development environment setup and change handlers
Hi i am trying to set up the development environment of CCB on my machine. I configured eclipse accordingly. i added a change handler at location C:\spl\CCBDEMO22\java\source\cm\com\splwg\cm\domain\customerinfo\person and named it as CmPerson_Chandler.java.
CmPerson_Chandler.java
package com.splwg.cm.domain.customerinfo.person;
import com.splwg.base.api.changehandling.RequireRule;
import com.splwg.base.api.changehandling.ValidationRule;
import com.splwg.ccb.domain.customerinfo.person.Person;
public class CmPerson_Chandler {
public static ValidationRule emailRequiredRule() {
return RequireRule.alwaysRequire("Person:Email is required",
"The person's email address must be specified",
Person.properties.emailAddress);
public ValidationRule[] getValidationRules() {
return new ValidationRule[] {emailRequiredRule()};
I saved it and compiled it. Now when i open CCB and try adding a person without emailid it gets added without the validation being performed. Can anybody suggest me am i missing out any step?My artifact generator now works fine, i was missing out configuration under Arguments tab.
I added a Junit test class under the same package as of CmPerson_CHandler. now when i try to run the JUNIT it guves me the error

Also when i right click deploy.xml it creates the cm.jar file under application/root/WEB-INF/lib, Do i need to deploy the jar file ? or just creation of jar file itself deploys it?
Also after adding the CmPerson_CHandler compiling it ---> generating artifacts ----->creating cm.jar file ---> restrating server ----> then i try to add a person without email ID from application and still the person gets addedd... Can anybody suggest me why my Handler is not showing its effect.. -

AutoCreate Final Assembly Orders - Pre-requisite setup details needed
Hi ,
I am a technical person and bit new to WIP module but to my understanding when AutoCreate Final Assembly Orders program runs, it creates a WO and also Requisition.
I was doing few test and found that for some sales order it is creating WO but not requisition i.e. I don't see Requisition Import being called by AutoCreate Final Assembly Orders program.
Can you please provide me what is the setup or pre-requisite for the AutoCreate Final Assembly Orders program to generate Requisition?
Thanks,

[SOLVED]
There seems to be an issue with partitioning a swap partition as "swap" (wtf?) when using dm-crypt/Swap encryption. This is odd to me since reportedly systemd processes crypttab before fstab, but maybe it looks at the drives first before looking at either table file and then assumes all swaps are not encrypted and just mounts the standard unencrypted swap essentially reserving the partition so that dm-crypt can't access it - would be nice if systemd didn't do that, maybe not logically possible? Or, time for a new partition type, encrypted-swap? Anyway, I digress and notice that now my encrypted swap works as expected but still shows a partition type of "unknown"which feels like a hack.
So the solution:
sudo cryptsetup luksDump /dev/sdaX
Then follow the steps from the "dm-crypt/Swap encryption" wiki. Aside from long term solutions maybe this could be added to that wiki article?
thanks!
b1k
Had more time to play with this. The "cryptsetup" command isn't necissary. While this effectively "fixed" my swap partition that was partitioned as a "swap" partition - all that one needs to do is partition their swap as anything BUT swap. So maybe a quick blurb mentioning that in the "dm-crypt/Swap encryption" wiki article will save another noob a couple hours. It is sorta mentioned in the "Swap (Activation by systemd)" wiki article but it's hard to understand what the author was trying to convey (after re-reading I'm still not sure what problem the author is solving exactly). -
Pre-requisites for e-Discovery from SharePoint Online to Exchange Online and On-prem
Hi,
I want to setup an O365 e-discovery site for SharePoint Online, Exchange Online and Exchange On-prem. My understanding is that to have e-Discovery from SPOnline to Exchange Online & Exchange On-prem, we need to setup Exchange hybrid with OAuth. Please correct
me if I am missing something. I have few questions regarding this setup -
1) Do we need to have Exchange 2013 On-premise for this setup? Or can it be done with Exchange 2010 too?
2) Is OAuth absolutely necessary for e-discovery to work between Exchange Online & On-prem? Or hybrid environment will work? Can OAuth be configured between Exchange 2010 On-prem and Exchange Online for e-discovery?
3) Any other pre-requisites?
Thanks.Yes, you will need Exchange 2013 SP1 or later with OAuth configured to cross-premises eDiscovery searches in Exchange.

MOPZ selecting technical usages with JAVA pre-requisite
Hello all,
Upgrading from 46C to EHP5. Some of the desired technical usage require both ABAP and JAVA system. For example, HCM_Learning Solution has the following pre-requisites
- SAP Learning Sol-Client (Lern, Auth, CP) - all JAVA
- Learning Solution (ABAP)
- SAP Learning Sol-Frontend ABAP
- Portal Content (Java)
So cannot select it in MOPZ since the 46C is not connected to a JAVA instance.
It means the ABAP side reqires two-step upgrade (1) upgrade to EHP5 without the HCM_Learning Solution, then (2) connect to a JAVA instance, select it it in MOPZ, then another ABAP upgrade with HCM_Learning Solution.
Any suggestion how to do the ABAP side in single step - i.e. include the Learning Solution (ABAP and the SAP Learning Sol-Frontend ABAP, then just create the JAVA instance after the ABAP upgrade? Is this a valid scenario?
Regards,
TerryHi,
Workaround of this situation is:
Add As Java usage type as well in system definition in SMSY. As a result you will be able to select these usage type as well in MOPZ. But it will give you Java packages as well. You can ignore those packages. And then you can carry out upgrade in a single step.

Pre requisites and steps for BI content installation.
Hi ,
We need to install Complete BI content in our production system , I am aware of the steps to be exeuted in SPRO but wanted to know the complete procedure step by step .
1) what are the pre requisites and checks before and after doing activation in SPRO .
2) If we already have some BI content installed and now we do complete reinstallation, will that create any issue .
3)Can we do activation directly in Production ?
Thanks,
Neetika.Hello Neethika, for your second question
2) If we already have some BI content installed and now we do complete reinstallation, will that create any issue
If the object which you are going to install is already active and if it is customised, and if you go for reinstallation, new standard object will reinstall the already customised existing oblect. However, if you select the check box MATCH (X) or COPY and do the installation, object will be activated with retainging customisation. so there will be no need to customise it again.
It is always recommended to go for manual collection of objects rather then automatic collection, because there might be wierd chances that all the objects might not get activated and this will cause a problem while you move the same from DEV to PRODUCTION.
feel free write if any further clarication need

Pre-requisite checker script for EBS R12 and R12.1
hi
is it possible to make a pre-requisite checker script (in perl or shell) for EBS R12 and R12.1 in RHEL5 or sun OS??
can anyone help / guide me to do so??
rgrdsI don't know about EBS R12, but apparently the Oracle Universal Installer can use options to just run the prerequisite checks without having to install the product.
E.g. /runInstaller -prereqChecker or -executeSysPrereqs

Can someone help kick off the OUI installer. Our customer if getting impatient in not getting it to run. Any help appreicaited
ThanksThanks for the replies...
FYI.
I have cloned an Oracle 9i database on a DR test server.
Now I am installing Oracle Application server 10g Forms and Reports (9.0.4) on Solaris 5.10
This is using a Oracle CD which is for Solaris 5.9 but using twp patches supplied by oracle to run the CD from. So it is able to run on Solaris 5.10. It has been done before but by some past DBA some 5 years ago. This is the first time I am attempting this being a new employee here.
I have implemented these suggestions.
Especially the fact that it was looking for a gunzip utuility which it couldn't find. To make it easirer Ij ust copied the gunzip utility to the place it was looking for, and renamed it unzip. As it was loooking for unzip
This worked and passed through.
Created the temp temp directory as welll so it would not have issues in not writting to the tmp directory.
The error I'm getting is below
bash-3.2$ pwd
/data02/FMSinvoice/appsFR904/INSTALL/ForSolaris5_10/4494701
bash-3.2$ /data02/FMSinvoice/appsFR904/INSTALL/SOLARIS/RUNINSTA -paramFile /data02/FMSinvoice/appsFR904/INSTALL/ForSolaris5_10/4494701/ORAPARAM.INI

I am running humingbird Exceed, and have also set the DISPLAY to my screen.
FYI I am running this from home so the 256 collours error would probably be ok if I did it from work (as I will on Monday)
However I would prbably still get the java error. Should this not be resolved using Exceed though?
