I have reset my router multiple times, and I was connected to the internet just fine before. I have a booster and it was working great until yesterday when it said I was connected to the internet but everytime I tried to load safari it said I wasn't connected. ThanksI too am experiencing an EXTREMELY slow connection to the internet when my PC comes out of sleep. When I check/troubleshoot the connection, I have all green lights, indicating I should be able to get on line, but it takes about 4 or 5 minutes before I can do so. It seems that this problem started shortly after the iCloud (or i Could as another poster said) was loaded. I know its not my ISP, because my wife, who works on an IBM machine gets right on, no problemo. Is there something going on with either the recent update or the i Could (use to be able) addition? Defective software?

Yesterday, iTunes informed me that there was an available update. I updated. Once the update was complete, iTunes would not conect to the internet. I am currently using the internet to post this problem so I know there is not a connection problem. I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes 4 times now. How can I fix this problem?

TS3297 itunes wont connect to the internet even though its already connected...?
Itunes continues to "load" and "connect" but then finally informs me that Itunes cannot connect due to lack of Internet Connection, even though there is nothing wrong with the connection. Now what?
Despite the WiFi connection sign you may not really be connected to your WiFi network.
Your router may not have given your iPod a valid IP address when the iPod requested it. To check on this go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the ">" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address shown starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix for this can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power to it for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPod (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc. -
When trying to install downloaded software I am prompted to connect to the internet but I am already connected. This also occurs when trying to install an Adobe update.
A cable modem always needs a complete reset whenever you change the device that it is connected to.
To get your Internet signal restored, it will require at least one major step including the reset of your modem and complete network power cycle.
If that is not successful, the second major step is to reset the AirPort Extrreme back to factory defaults and then combine the steps above again.
Try this first:
Push the reset button on the cable modem (if present) and pull the internal batter (if easily accessible) then power off the modem
Power off everything else on your network....all devices....order is not important
Wait at least 20 minutes...longer will not hurt
Make sure that the Ethernet cable from the modem is connected to the WAN port (circle of dots or world icon) on the AirPort Extreme
Re-install the modem battery if it was pulled in the step above
Power up the modem and let it run for 4-5 minutes by itself
Power up the AirPort Extreme and let it run for 4-5 minutes
Power up each other network device one at a time about a minute apart until everything is powered back up
Check the network for proper operation -
I suddenly lost the ability to access my apple account at all. Can't login because it says there is no active connection even tho I can web browse and all normally. Is there a way that is not thru itunes for me to be able to access my account and at least delete or deactivate it? Or better yet a way to fix this? what do i do if my internet is wep and i need it to be wpa2 because my ipod touch 4th gen connects to the internet but when i click on safari or itunes it says safari cannot open the page because its not connected to the internet. i have contacted apple support and they said to change from wep to wpa2 but when i change it to wpa2 and type in password and connect on my laptop it says the saved setting on this computer for the network do not match the require ments of the network
My 2nd gen works fine with WPA2 and AES encryption.
You may need to go back and start over. Reset the router back to factory defaults, log on as the admin, set up security, DHCP, and make sure the IP address pool has enough IP addresses to lease to ALL of the computers/devices that will connect to that the router. -

We were able to fix our machine! I just could not make sense of the error message, so we were trying non-Microsoft, non-Apple solutions.
Our Solution: Install MalWareBytes, and run a Quick Scan.
Even thought both Microsoft anti-virus and Defender were running on our Windows 8 machine, MalWareBytes found about 100 problems. As I looked over the types of problem and locations, I found several that referenced the exact directory referenced in this message. The machine had to be restarted for MalWareBytes to complete the cleaning, but iTunes installed afterwards with no problems.

Okay...so I've read through all of the support articles on the support section of the site and I've tried out all of the diffrent solutions and I've got nothing. Even after getting the newest verison on Itunes on my computer still wont make it work.
Would saying that I previously had the bankerfox virus on my computer help anybody to find a solution to my problem? Anybody?!You may want to start by telling is what error you are getting. If you are able to connect to the internet but not iTunes, your firewall and/or virus protection/security software is blocking the necessary ports. I would disable your security software and test. If disabling doesn't work, the nextoptiom would be to either completely remove any and all security software or contact the manufacturer for assistance in configuring the program to allow the ports.

If you are the only user on your computer you probably don't have multiple user accounts set up and can disregard that. If you are using iTunes 11 go to View>Show Sidebar. Now see if your iPad appears under Devices on the left side when you connect it. If it does, click on the name of your iPad on the left side and your iTunes sync settings options will appear in folders with tabbed headings to the right.

when i follow the steps it does it but when it gets to itunes it says 'iTunes could not contact the iPhone software update server because you are not connected to the internet' but i am connected to the internet ..?
Were you definitely connected to the internet at the time? If you don't have iOS 5 on your iPhone then the only way to update it would be via iTunes, once updated to the latest version of iOS you'll be able to update your iPhone without connecting to iTunes "over-the-air".
Before updating however it goes without saying to Backup your iPhone, this should happen by default upon connecting your iPhone to iTunes.
