Air redistribution install fails on Macs
The standalone air installer works fine on windows and can install our app fine too. But we have been unable to make it work on two different macs, unless AIR is already installed (it just installs our app correctly then as identified by the .cfg)
Its fails right at the end with the error:
Sorry, an error has occured
An error occured while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator.
NB: the normal Air installer from http://get.adobe.com/air/ installs air just fine.

Much has been written about this problem, and the most quoted solutions are
Ensure the appurl FlashVar is not a relative url but fully qualified http://domain.com/app.air
Uninstall and reinstall Air
Empty browser's cache
None of these have solved my issue and I still have a reproducible bug.
I have set up a badge installer at http://tx.flamjam.com/mms/ which attempts to install appurl=http:/tx.flamjam.com/mms/MMSReview.air
This works beautifully in OS X but fails in Windows with the error window,
Sorry, an error has occurred.
The application could not be installed. Try installing it again. If the problem persists, contact the application author.
Error# 2032
I've tested IE and Chrome, both updated to the most recent versions.
When Air is not installed I get a slightly different error message, with no error number.
The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author.
With Air installed, if I instead visit the appurl directly in the browser — http:/tx.flamjam.com/mms/MMSReview.air — the file downloads and installs without problem.
To the best of my knowledge, the error is a generic stream error which essentially means that the appurl could not be found. To demonstrate this, simply use a fictitous appurl and now the same error can be seen on OS X as well. This implies that something is malforming the appurl withing the badge, but I have modified the status display text of the badge to display the appurl parsed from the LoaderInfo object containing FlashVars payload and can confirm that the appurl appears to be consistent between OS X and Win.

I'll continue digging for a solution, and post my findings here, but would value other's input on this subject greatly.An interesting development.
When I monitor my network traffic using ServiceCapture I can see that no attempt is made to connect to the appurl, with the install failing instantly without even attempting to connect to the appurl.
ServiceCapture on OS X confirms the attempt to connect to the appurl even if the url is deliberately fictitous resulting in a 404 response.
The badge begins the installation process using the installApplication method of the following file
http://airdownload.adobe.com/air/browserapi/air.swf
which the badge loads on startup.
It would appear to me that the installation problem is failing inside that loaded swf's code, but I'm at a loss as to how to debug that. -

Yes, it certainly does have the tools to reformat the drive if desired. You can also reinstall the OS without reformatting, if you think the remedy of a simple "repair installation" is all that is necessary.

They likely contain additional information which can be utilized to determine the root cause of your difficulties. Reader X 10.1.0 Install Fail with Mac 10.6.7
I am trying to install the latest reader on our MacBooks. I tried the auto update and that failed. I tried downloading and installing and that failed. I removed the older version and same, then removed all traces including the library files and failed.
This was done on multiple Macs and the results were all the same.
Any suggestions other than not updating?Hidden files? I'm not sure how I would go about that? I have removed the plist, preference, and support files associated with the program. I removed them under the individual user, the system library, and the hard drive library. I have had issues in the past with Air but it was related to creating the support piece under the user account.

Just got snow leopard install failed now Mac will not boot up?
I got a iPad and snow leopard very excited to use them I try to install leopard and it fails so I turn on the comp to try it again and I get the apple logo then the spinning wheel then it just shuts off and that's all it will do now!

Thank youTry inserting the instalation DVD provided by Apple and start the computer while holding the 'c' key down on the keyboard until you hear the DVD spin and some action in the DVD drive. If your mac doesn't start and show something meaningfull then, take it back to the shop it has a hardware problem, or your installation disc has.

Adobe Air update install fails
I have been using Acrobat.com as a desktop application. As of
today, every time I launch the application, I get an update
notification about an update for the Adobe Air platform for
Acrobat.com. When I click to update, the installation fails, and
the error message tells me to contact the autor of the application.

of an update which I understand to be called Acrobat.com AIR.
I downloaded Acrobat.com AIR but when it was installing, a
message appeared which read, "Same version as installed version."
Then I was given the option to "Un-install", the currently
installed Acrobat.com, "Save" or "Cancel".
Since I wasn't sure of the outcome, I canceled the process to

Help please - Flash install fails on Mac OSX 10.9.5

A brief glimpse of white progress bar at 0% appears then dissapears from the grey install screen when you run the install. The grey box then just sits there.
I have followed all the troubleshooting advice. I have de-installed flash then rebooted and tried again. I have done this twice just to make sure, but to no avail?
Has anyone got any ideas?That is correct Das_Sad. CS2 will not run on Intel based processors under Mac OS. You will need to find a Mac computer with a PowerPC processor if you wish to run Creative Suite 2.

AIR Badge Install fails on Macromedia Certificate Error
I noticed my AIR Badge installer stopped working with the message “A download error occurred, would you like to try again” when the person did not have Adobe AIR installed previously. The badge installer is supposed to download AIR seamlessly as part of the process.
I snooped with Charles and found that the loaded air.swf file was attempting to access https://www.macromedia.com and this request is returning a certificate error. Attempting to access the url on my home machine directly using gives me the message that the cert is not from a trusted authority. Attempting to access that url from my work machine results in a re-direct to Adobe.com.
Anyone got a clue as to what the heck is going on? Am I dealing with an outdated version of the badge? I got this from the Flex SDK 3.4 samples directory.

Thanks very much for getting back but the issue is resolved - I discovered
that I was passing 1.52 instead of 1.5.2 for the required air version
parameter. D'oh. Once that was set correctly the badge works fine.

Install failed on MAC running Yosemite.
Just subscribed to Acrobat XI. Dowloaded dmg file. It will not start. It does not appear that running the previously dowloaded version (trial) is automatically accepting the upgrade, since it broke a 63 page document into three files. Running MAC yosemity. How do I get this to install?
If the trial is running there is nothing to download, nothing to install, because you already have it. Just license the trial, it becomes live.

FB2 plug-in install failing on Mac OS X
During the install step-by-step process I'm at the "Choose
Eclipse Folder to be Updated" - and so I choose it. But the install
program keeps telling me that "Eclipse 3.2 not found" -- I am
