All my phone shows is a usb cord and the iTunes symbol. it will not let me do anything on my phone or on my iTunes from my computer
My phone is only showing a USB cord and the itunes thing. On my computer under itunes its not letting me do any thing there is not a reset button or anything it just says my information about my phone, i cant even reset it.
Make sure that you can see this iTunes cord graphics before you connect it to your computer.
On the left sidebar of iTunes, under My Devices, you will see there your iPhone's name.
Click on that and on the screen that will appear, you will be able to see RESTORE.

Today I was updating my phone to the newest IOS 7 and after it finished downloading. An error showed up on my screen telling me it was unable to update. So I decided to just unplug my phone and maybe do it later but on my screen I have a USB cord and the iTunes logo asking me to connect. So I hooked it back up and still at this point my iTunes will not connect and when I unplug the phone the screen stays the same. I have tried turning off the phone and restarting and both times the screen goes back to the connect screen.. How can I fix this?
I have tried the steps to fix it but no solution! Please someone tell me what to do!

When I attempted to plug my iPod touch into my PC to sync with iTunes it said an update was needed so I clicked ok. Now all I get is a screen that shows a pic of a USB cord with an arrow and an iTunes symbol, I can't even shut it off, I pushed the home and power button at same time which logs off but pops right back with same screen....I've tried to reset from iTunes it retrieves info then goes into attempting to download the info back but a message comes up and says its unable to reset it, can anyone help me with this problem??

Connect the device to a computer running iTunes and restore. -
I can't open my ipad now. It is stuck with the picture of the usb cord and the itunes logo on the front.
Recovery Mode
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times. -

You can't not restore if you have reached this point -
My phone crashed and has an icon showing a usb cable and the itunes emblem. when I connect to itunes it does not recognize my phone and treats it as just iphone. when I try to restore about 9 to 10 minutes into the restore the phone turns off and then on and then loses the connection with itunes and at the end of the download it just asks me to restore it again.
Be prepared to lose everything on your iPhone but it should be backed up in iTunes so you can restore from your backup.
Try Recovery Mode... http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808 -
I dropped my ipod touch and now it will only charge to 20%. It does turn on and the screen I get shows me a picture of a USB cord and a cd with a music note on it that says itunes under it. What does this mean?

I tried to restore my ipod touch 2nd generation and now it won't sync to itunes. On the screen is the USB end of the cord and the iTunes logo over it.
I have turned it off and on, held the off button down and the select button down but it still comes up with that picture on the screen. Have I broken it?
Please help.
MimiIt means the device is in recovery mode. You'll need to reconnect it to iTunes and restore it again.
You may need to connect it in recovery mode manually using the instructions in this Apple support document.

I just received my iPad2 today. When I turned it on it only showed a USB cable and the iTunes icon. What does this mean?
The first thing that needs to be done with a new iPad is to activate it by connecting it to a computer running iTunes (version 10.2 +).
Getting Started guide : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4053
The iPad manual, which also has a chapter on getting started can be downloaded from here : http://support.apple.com/manuals/#ipad -
My screen on the touch is frozen. the screen shows a usb cable and the itunes logo above it. How can I get it back to the main screen
The screen is telling you to connect the iPod to a computer with iTunes via the USB cable. iTunes should open and give you instructions. If not, open iTunes and retore the iPod via iTunes.
