Always get disconnected?

I have a macbook and i am using a linksys system N wireless router. Its 2 feet away. Now the problem i am having is i am always getting disconnected at night from everything. I will be on yahoo instant messenger, aol instant messenger and the enternet and all of a sudden it will disconnect me but it wont let me know. The way i find out is that none of my friends reply to what i sent them and i cannot access anything online. Is there something that i can do to stop this? This just started happening? What can i buy to fix this or what should i do. Thax so much for any help Thax.

Linksys has some problems with it and connection mostly because there are so many people that have them. I had the same problem you're having. The reason it's a problem for other people to have them is that they have a specific IP address on the router, but most of their routers have the same thing. You're computer will be surfing along and if it gets even a hint of the same IP from another router, it will accidentally hook on to that one, and drop your connection. The way to solve this is to put a password on your router. In safari, type in at the top http://192.168.1.x and with x it's either going to be 0, 1, or 2. If it asks for a password, the default password is ADMIN and there is no user name. If it doesnt ask for a password, just try one of the other numbers for x. Go into the wireless settings in there. Go into Wireless security from there and set it to WPA personal. Set a password for it and then save all the settings. Try it again from your mac. Having a password encryption on the connection usually solves the dropped connection problem. When you are doing all the router work though, it's best if you plug you computer directly into the router if possible. Hope this helps!

To use factime on your Mac, I believe you will need to use your email address to do so instead of your wireless number. Since you can't make calls on the Mac.

Logic Remote for iPad always gets disconnected from paired iMac..?

I recently downloaded GarageBand 10.0.0 and Logic Remote for the iPad, the thing is, it only stays connected when:
(1) GarageBand does not have any open projects or
(2) When the project is about to be closed, as the user is being prompted to: "Don't Save", "Cancel" or "Save"
I know Logic Remote connects to the Mac I am using since it tells me to open a project first, then right after I open a project,
logic remote always tells me
"The connection to <computer name> was lost. Please select the Mac you wish to connect to"
The app then tries to reconnect and reconnect, but nothing happens.
By accident, as I tried to close the project in the Mac, whose snapshot is attached in this posting:
the app then is able to remotely control garageband...
When I cancel the project closing, the problem persists...
This actually renders the app useless...
Have you guys encountered this situation.?

I am experiencing the identical problem as janjerick.
To reproduce the problem:
1) On iMac OS 10.9, Launch Garageband 10.0 - choose Empty Project. Created a "software instrument" track.
2) On iPad, Launch Logic Remote 1.02 and select the hosting iMac computer.
3) Connection seemed to come up on the iPad, then prompty goes away. "The connect to <host> was lost".
4) The connection doesn't come back... UNTIL I try to dismiss the project on iMac Garageband. The instant I get the "Do you want to save the document" dialog -- Boom! The Logic Remote connection is established. And then the Logic Remote seems to be able to control Garageband (while the 'Do you want to save the document' dialog is in the foreground on Garageband.). But as soon as I try to go back into a project on Garageband, the connection is lost.
Here's the kicker: I also have Logic Pro X on the same iMac and the "Logic Pro" remote app is working PERFECTLY with that. But as soon as I flip back to Garageband, no go.
Anyone else?

Why my connection as client mode always get disconnected

i have an airport express, and I set it up as a client mode to connect it wierd cable to my tv reciever,
Nornaly it work perfectly, after a long day at work i come to browse the online library, then I'm surprise my airport express is not working, unplog it and plug it again from electricity would do the job, but tthis is not a solution,
Ps: my existing router is not an appp product.

I assume, you've activated the thunderbirtd junk-filter? Or do you use your own filters?
May be there's another filter, executed afterwards, that marks the mail as junk? You can have a look into the filterlog.html in your TB folder, there you can see if one of your own filters caught this mails.

Thanks!!! I had same error (with -49) and the mac had an external hard drive attached.. and it was doing a backup. Stopped, disconnected and the project exported!

Xrandr and VGA - external display always labelled 'disconnected'

I have an laptop and a widescreen tv that I wish to use as an external monitor. With recent Xorg updates it's been easier and easier and all I have to do now is plug in the monitor and restart X - no special xorg.conf fixing needed. Except that the tv appears to be 16:9 whereas my laptop's widescreen is 1280x800 (which comes down to some other ratio). The result is that the image projected is light off center.
According to http://www.x.org/wiki/Projects/XRandR, I should be able to setup the external monitor specifically in my xorg.conf, the major plot point being that you need to connect the laptop to the tv to get it's advertised modes and resolutions and then run xrandr -q (for query). However, I always get "VGA-0 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)" regardless of whether the TV is connected or disconnected, off or on. All the while the screen is being doubled onto the TV... Does anybody have any experience with this? I'm using the radeon driver on a measly Xpress Radeon 200M if it's any relevance.

I haven't tried any of this for some time and I don't really have the time right now. First up is that at some point my computers screen was no longer doubled onto the TV at boot and only Windows could reestablish the link. However I was kinda hoping that the X upgrades might somehow have fixed this. Not so it appears?

There is something Definitely wrong with iOS 7 regarding DATA USAGE being logged to wireless carrier in for WIFI instead.
I read all the previous replies and same issue.
I rarely use my mac to sync....its all wifi sync for the last 2 years....never had this issue before... and i know it began with iOS7.... here is why....
My iPhone was at home when I updated to iOS7 connected to wifi...but it logged Data Usage to Rogers Wireless (700MB approx)...data will never do an update over 50mb in app store (it gives the warning to use wifi) I play a lot of games and pay for them so I always update through App Store. 2 weeks later, simposons halloween update (650mb)...at home, using wifi.
Rogers told me there was 700+mb data usage on the day of update and 650+mb data on oct 1.st (tapped out).
Went over my 6GB plan and paid the fees.
This has never happened before...It must come to apples attention by now...

N82 warns always when disconnecting USB

Am I disconnecting my N82 somehow incorrectly from USB port? Always when I unplug the cable I get an error message "Data may have been lost. You should end data transfer before disconnecting the cable". (my own translation) That happens whenever I use USB cable in data transfer mode in my N82.
I use Windows's "safely remove hardware" before unplugging it. Windows says it is safe to remove the cable. In Linux I unmount the device before unplugging and there I get the same error message in the phone too.
It seems that the phone is scaring me without any reason. Do you always get the same error message too?

Always getting errors when trying to control YOKOGAWA 7651 power supply on Labwindows/CVI

Hi,
I'm trying to set the voltage on the YOKOGAWA 7651 power supply through labwindows/cvi. I've set up a numeric slide on my userinterface with callback function "yoko7651dcvolts" and constant name "YOKO7651DCVOLTS".
I always get this error when I run my program:
"FATAL RUN-TIME ERROR: "DcSource.c", line 53, col 65, thread id 0x00001F3C: Invalid argument type: found 'pointer to double', expected 'pointer to int'."
This error points to the third argument of the GetCtrlVal function below. The program/compiler wants me pass the variable "yoko1volts" as integer, but I want to (and should) be able to set voltages as floating numbers.
Plus, even when I declare "yoko1volts" as integer, it stills doesn't work. All I get is zero, zero, and zero...on the power supply meter everytime I press the numeric slide.

All the drivers (including the YOKOGAWA 7651 power supply) are properly installed and mounted. As a matter of fact, I can successfully turn the power supply on and off with the code below:

I second Al opinion of a disconnection between the UIR and the variable that holds the panel handle.
As a side note, I noted that the problematic line is reading the value of the controll whose callback is executed:

In a situation like this, I would try using GetCtrlVal (panel, control, &yoko1volts); instead, that should get rid of all problems in panel handle / control ID.
Despite this solution is working, in any case I would deep into the problem as an incorrect panel handle can lead to erratical behaviour in other places of the program.

Ichat client get disconnected

I have ichat client on both leopard and tiger and they all get disconnected at some point in the day, all pretty much at the same time. I'm thinking it's either the server that disconnects everybody or there is some time limit from the client side, I don't know. I have the standard server configuration, everybody has a static IP from our provider, no extra firewall but the one provided by the system, no gateway on the server either and the server is running it's ichat server I think with the kerberos authentication. Can I change that with the standard install and set it to name and password? In documentation, it says that kerberos gives a ticket for a period of time, how long? Can I tell it to be unlimited? All macs are always on, they don't go to sleep because of backups during the night. On my computer, I quit ichat with a script loaded in ical, at 7pm, and relauch it at 8 am, but I too, get disconnected around 10am. So I'm not sure that the time limit is the issue either.
Anybody else having this problem with Leopard server 10.5.2?

You can refer to this blog, and try to roll back to the older version of network adapter driver to check the results. Other suggestions can also be used to troubleshoot your issue.

Meanwhile, please check with the manufacturer of your router to update the firmware.
If the issue persists, please help to collect following information for further research:
1) Enable RAS Tracing on the client.
- Over an Administrative command prompt.
- C:\> netsh ras set tracing * enabled
2) On the client enable the following log as well:
- Over an Administrative command prompt.
- C:\> netsh trace start scenario=netconnection capture=yes tracefile=c:\net.etl
3) Now, turn off Wireless adapter on the client and Turn it back ON for making it to authenticate. Once it fails to connect to the Wireless network, proceed to the next step.
4) Disable RAS Tracing on the client.
- Over an Administrative command prompt.
- C:\> netsh ras set tracing * disabled
5) On the client disable the following log as well:
- Over an Administrative command prompt.
- C:\> netsh trace stop
6) Please provide the following files:
From the Client:
a) ZIP folder of C:\Windows\Tracing
b) C:\Net.etl and C:\Net.cab
Upload these files in SkyDrive and post back the shared link.

Can't get iPhone 4s out of recovery mode and always get error 40 during restore

I tried updating to ios 6.1.2 and I left it for a while since I had to do some stuff. When I came back, my iPhone is in recovery mode and I can't get it to restore using itunes. I always get error 40. I tried restoring on a different pc but it's still a no go. Is it possible that this has something to do with the hardware? I've already looked up possible solutions but my iphone's still in recovery mode. I never had this phone opened nor did I attempt to jailbreak it or anything. I tried asking my carrier for assistance but they're charging me for repairs. The fee's pretty expensive.

In Photoshop, if you choose Help - About Plug-in... - Camera Raw, does it say 8.6?
Seems to me there was some hiccup they found in the update process, which prompted this:
Camera Raw updates cannot be applied
I honestly don't know if the problem could apply to 8.6 as well, which is why I asked you to check to make very sure you really got it.
