Why my connection as client mode always get disconnected

i have an airport express, and I set it up as a client mode to connect it wierd cable to my tv reciever,
Nornaly it work perfectly, after a long day at work i come to browse the online library, then I'm surprise my airport express is not working,  unplog it and plug it again from electricity would do the job, but tthis is not a solution,
Ps: my existing router is not an appp product.

Hi rowinator,
I assume, you've activated the thunderbirtd junk-filter? Or do you use your own filters?
May be there's another filter, executed afterwards, that marks the mail as junk? You can have a look into the filterlog.html in your TB folder, there you can see if one of your own filters caught this mails.

  • Always get disconnected?

I have a macbook and i am using a linksys system N wireless router. Its 2 feet away. Now the problem i am having is i am always getting disconnected at night from everything. I will be on yahoo instant messenger, aol instant messenger and the enternet and all of a sudden it will disconnect me but it wont let me know. The way i find out is that none of my friends reply to what i sent them and i cannot access anything online. Is there something that i can do to stop this? This just started happening? What can i buy to fix this or what should i do. Thax so much for any help Thax.

Linksys has some problems with it and connection mostly because there are so many people that have them. I had the same problem you're having. The reason it's a problem for other people to have them is that they have a specific IP address on the router, but most of their routers have the same thing. You're computer will be surfing along and if it gets even a hint of the same IP from another router, it will accidentally hook on to that one, and drop your connection. The way to solve this is to put a password on your router. In safari, type in at the top http://192.168.1.x and with x it's either going to be 0, 1, or 2. If it asks for a password, the default password is ADMIN and there is no user name. If it doesnt ask for a password, just try one of the other numbers for x. Go into the wireless settings in there. Go into Wireless security from there and set it to WPA personal. Set a password for it and then save all the settings. Try it again from your mac. Having a password encryption on the connection usually solves the dropped connection problem. When you are doing all the router work though, it's best if you plug you computer directly into the router if possible. Hope this helps!

To use factime on your Mac, I believe you will need to use your email address to do so instead of your wireless number.  Since you can't make calls on the Mac.

  • AirPort Express cannot connect in client mode when encryption used

I'm trying to set up my brand new AirPort Express in client mode to stream my music wirelessly to my receiver, which is on another floor of my house. I can't get it to associate with my Linksys WRV200 wireless router when using any kind of encryption. It works fine with encryption disabled, but I really don't want to leave that kind of security hole in my network.
    -Equipment-
    AirPort Extreme - v6.3 firmware
    AirPort Admin - v4.2
    WRV200 - v1.0.12 firmware (latest version)
Dell desktop with Windows XP SP2 (Running iTunes 6.0.5.20)
Dell laptop with Windows XP SP2 (running AirPort Admin)
IBM laptop with Fedora Core 5 (for connection testing)
    -Procedure-
Various encryption methods were set on the WRV200's primary SSID and matching settings were set on the AirPort. All changes to the AirPort Extreme were done wirelessly with AirPort Admin 4.2 on Windows XP SP2+latest updates. Here are the changes from default that I made on the AirPort:
    AirPort Tab
    -Name and password were changed
-Wireless mode was set to "Join an existing wireless network (wireless client)"
-Network name was changed but stayed consistent throughout the tests
-Security setting was changed for each test
    Internet Tab
-DHCP or manual IP were specified depending on the test.
    Music Tab
    -"Enable Air Tunes" was checked
-A name was given to the share
    -Results-
No Encryption - iTunes sees the AirPort Extreme and can stream music to it. This works in both DHCP and manual IP mode. Interestingly enough, when set to DHCP, it grabs the same address as the manual one I input, which isn't the next one in sequence for the DHCP server (192.168.1.250 instead of 192.168.1.103)
128 bit WEP - Flashing orange light on the AirPort, no DHCP lease, no connection. Still doesn't work when a manual IP address is provided.
WPA2 Personal - Solid green light for 10 seconds, then two amber flashes and back to solid green. I can see association requests in my router's log every 10 seconds or so while this is going on. The strange light pattern only happens when a manual IP is selected. I still see the association requests when DHCP is selected, but the light on the AirPort just flashes amber all the time.
I know that the router's working correctly as my Linux and Windows laptops can DHCP and connect to the Internet with WEP or WPA2, but for some reason I can't connect the AirPort Express to the wireless router when I use encryption. I'd switch out the Linksys box, but I don't know of any other consumer-level wireless routers that allow multiple simultaneous wireless SSIDs.
Does anyone have a suggestion of what to try next?
    AirPort Express   Other OS

One of the problems with WEP is that the actual standard relies on a 10 character HEX key for 40bit WEP and a 26 character HEX key for 128bit WEP.
In order to make things easier for people, vendors use certain algorithms to convert simple alphanumeric passwords (or passphrases) into HEX keys, thus enabling people to use simple memorable WEP password rather than lengthy HEX keys.
The problem is that different vendors use different algorithms to generate the HEX key and therefore a ASCII password on an AEBS will be hashed differently on a Netgear client and vice versa.
One thing is a 13 character 128 bit WEP password will be hashed by all vendors in the same way (if you use 40bit WEP then a 5 character password is required).
Though sometimes not even that works and the HEX key must be used regardless.

  • Logic Remote for iPad always gets disconnected from paired iMac..?

    Hello,
I recently downloaded GarageBand 10.0.0 and Logic Remote for the iPad, the thing is, it only stays connected when:
    (1) GarageBand does not have any open projects or
    (2) When the project is about to be closed, as the user is being prompted to: "Don't Save", "Cancel" or "Save"
I know Logic Remote connects to the Mac I am using since it tells me to open a project first, then right after I open a project,
    logic remote always tells me
"The connection to <computer name> was lost. Please select the Mac you wish to connect to"
The app then tries to reconnect and reconnect, but nothing happens.
By accident, as I tried to close the project in the Mac, whose snapshot is attached in this posting:
the app then is able to remotely control garageband...
When I cancel the project closing, the problem persists...
This actually renders the app useless...
Have you guys encountered this situation.?

I am experiencing the identical problem as janjerick.
    To reproduce the problem:
    1) On iMac OS 10.9, Launch Garageband 10.0  - choose Empty Project.  Created a "software instrument" track.
    2) On iPad, Launch Logic Remote 1.02  and select the hosting iMac computer.
    3) Connection seemed to come up on the iPad, then prompty goes away.  "The connect to <host> was lost".
    4) The connection doesn't come back... UNTIL I try to dismiss the project on iMac Garageband. The instant I get the "Do you want to save the document" dialog -- Boom!  The Logic Remote connection is established.  And then the Logic Remote seems to be able to control Garageband (while the 'Do you want to save the document' dialog is in the foreground on Garageband.).   But as soon as I try to go back into a project on Garageband, the connection is lost.
Here's the kicker: I also have Logic Pro X on the same iMac and the "Logic Pro" remote app is working PERFECTLY with that.  But as soon as I flip back to Garageband, no go.
    Anyone else?

  • Having problems connecting an AirPort Express in client mode to a Linksys?

I have a Linksys WRT150N as my main access point. I recently dumbed down its security to WPA2 Personal so a Dell, and Xbox 360 could get on it wirelessly. Unfortunately, my AirPort Express refuses to connect now even after re-configuring it to use WPA. Its light just blinks Amber.
Does anyone else have an AirPort Express connected in client mode to a Linksys access point using WPA Personal security? I vaguely recall that I had this problem before, and solved it by using WPA2. Perhaps it's time to get an Apple TV for playing music on the home theater...
    Thanks.

Hi, Bill!  Actually, no--the AE is creating its own wireless network with the same SSID and password as the Time Capsule.  I had big problems with bandwidth degredation when I tried to extend the network like that.
But I believe I tracked down the cause of the issue--the powerline adapter was losing its connection with the other powerline adapter for some reason.  Still observing that one, but all the Apple stuff appears to be operating normally.  Thanks for the replay anyway!

  • Join AirPort Express to D-Link DGL4300 router in client mode not working

I only want to be able to stream iTunes to my AirPort Express via my existing network which is controlled by my D-Link DGL-4300 router.
My AirPort Express works as an iTunes streamer because I tested it running its own network (ignoring the existing D-Link network). I am trying to connect in client mode (I think), but my D-Link router just can't see the AirPort Express which seems to disappear off the radar after it restarts with the new settings.
    This is what happens...
    1. AirPort Express Hard Reset
    2. Connect to Airport Express wireless network (which disconnects me from my D-Link DGL4300 wireless network “K1000578”)
    3. Run AirPort Utility and enter “Assist Me” mode.
    4. Set AirPort Express name and password then click continue.
    5. Select “I have a wireless network and want to add AirPort Express or replace an existing device on my network” then click continue.
    6. Select “I want AirPort Express to join my current network”
    7. Select the name of my D-Link DGL4300 network “K1000578” from the drop down box, select WPA/WPA2 Personal wireless security type and enter the DGL4300 password, then click continue.
    8. Click Update in the summary screen.
    What happens then is...
MESSAGE BOX “Apple wireless device restarting. Please wait...”
MESSAGE BOX “Connecting to network ‘K1000578’. Please wait...”
AirPort Utility returns with a message advising that although the device was successfully updated, AirPort utility was unable to find it after restarting. It also suggests that I made need to reselect my network for the AirPort menu and try again.
My computer is now unable to even see the AirPort express device.
When I try to reconnect to my existing DGL4300 network “K1000578”, it says that the settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network. !! ***!!
I can fix the last part above by deleting the connection information for my DGL4300 and searching for it again. BUT HOW ON EARTH DO I CONNECT MY AIRPORT EXPRESS TO MY NETWORK?!!
I am able to connect my PC directly to the AirPort Express (if I set it up as its own network) and successfully stream iTunes, but this means I have to disconnect from my DGL4300 network also which means I won’t get internet on that machine and I can’t use my iPhone Remote App.
This is my second experience with Apples “it just works” philosophy. MobileMe was my first. Guess how I’m feeling!
Any help at all is kindly appreciated.

I forgot to mention, I have turned off the MAC address filters on my router, so that's not the cause.

  • Airport Express knocks out internet connection in bridge mode

I have an Airport Extremem (one of the first 'N' versions) and an older (also 'N') Airport Express that extends my network in bridge mode.  I want to add another Airport Express (also an older 'N' version) in bridge mode.  The new one can be connected in client mode successfully, but when I try to connect it in bridge mode I lose my internet connection.  Both of the Airport Expresses are the older model that hang directly on the power outlet and everything has the latest firmware version.  Any ideas?
    Thanks!

The new one can be connected in client mode successfully, but when I try to connect it in bridge mode I lose my internet connection.
Client mode is also Bridge Mode, so I am not sure what you are referring to here.
In other words, when the Express is in the "join" mode, that is client mode which is also Bridge Mode.
When the Express is in "extend" mode, it is also in Bridge Mode.
So, the AirPort Extreme is operating correctly, correct?
If yes, does the first AirPort Express extend the network wirelessly, or is it connected to the AirPort Extreme using a wired Ethernet connection?
Once we understand the relationship between the AirPort Extreme and AirPort Express, we can tackle the issue of your second AirPort Express.
BTW, the second Express cannot extend the signal from the first Express wirelessly, if that is what you are asking about here?

  • Why do i always get "cannot connect to itunes" message whenever i download after putting my password? plus i cannot update my apps? please help me thanks :)

why do i always get "cannot connect to itunes" whenever i update my apps or buy anything from the store while my ipod can download? it has thesame email user

I use only one Apple ID and only one ID. I did have to change the password at one point but I had no issues at all with updating apps after I changed the password.
If you can download new apps with the ID that you changed the password for, I would think that you will be able to update apps associated with that ID as well.
Did you try restarting the iPad after signing out of the one account and then sign in to the other account/accounts?

  • How to Connect Airport Express to Existing Wireless Network (Client Mode)

I am posting this for everyone tearing their hair out trying to connect the Airport Express to your own existing home wireless network. After spending 2 hours last night installing this on my father-in-law's home network, I hope to be able to save someone else the agony we went through.
    So here's the situation:
Say you already have your own home network set up, and all you want is to be able to use AirTunes to play music off iTunes into your speaker system. And, you don't need the printer sharing capability nor creation of another wireless network (2 of the features of Airport Express). Then this solution is for you - read on.
Unfortunately, Apple's user manual is very unclear how to connect Airport Express to your own network. When you look at the picture diagram they provide, they show Airport Express picking up its signal from another Apple-oriented base. This can make you think you need to buy another piece of hardware to make it work. DON'T If you read through the manual, the Support section here, etc., you will hear lots of talk about "Client Mode" - and that this is the only way to get it to work. Nice - but no one really tells you how to set up the Airport in client mode.
Do yourself a favor, toss that user manual aside and run these steps.
(Note: These directions assume your DSL/Cable Modem is hooked up to a wireless router or acts as its own wireless router)
    1. Get a cat5 Ethernet cable (anything but an orange cable - that's a crossover cable) like you would use to connect your PC to your router to pick up the Internet.
    2. Connect the Ethernet cable to the router on one end, and to the Airport Express unit on the other end.
    3. Plug in your Airport Express unit to the wall (this will not necessarily become its permanent location - you will be able to move it later). The light will glow solid Amber for about 30-45 seconds while it starts up, then blink Amber. At this point, the unit is ready to operate.
    4. Install the CD to the PC where your iTunes music is stored. This should be painless. Once you open the program, it should detect the Airport unit.
    5. At this point, the on-screen wizard will present you with your options, and walk you through the setup. This is much like the user manual describes - and you should be good to go form here forward.
    Some pointers:
    - When asked if you want to create a new network, join an existing network, or connect via Ethernet, choose the middle option for joining an existing network. You will need to know the name of your network, the password to connect to the network (if present), and the type of encryption used on the network (e.g. WEP, WPA, etc.). Side note, WPA is recommended, as it is a higher level of security than WEP. You will be able to configure the Airport Express unit to automatically login to your network.
    - I would recommend, when creating a password for the Airport Express unit, use the same password as your network, to avoid confusion.
    6. The very last step will ask you to save the settings to the Airport Express. Here's the kicker - when you save the settings, you are TRICKING the Airport Express into no longer acting as a network broadcaster, but instead being a "slave" to your own network. What do I mean? You will lose the connection from your PC to the Airport Express - an error message will pop up telling you the unit can no longer be found. While you might think you did something wrong, you actually were successful!
    7. Unplug your Airport Express, and disconnect the Ethernet cable from your router and the Airport unit. This will no longer be needed.
    8. Go to your desired location where you want to plug in your Airport Express unit. Before plugging it in, connect your Audio cable from the Airport Express to your audio receiver. Once that is connected, then plug in the Airport Express unit. The light will glow solid Amber for 30-45 seconds while it loads, and then will blink Amber for a brief period of time before turning solid GREEN. When this happens, you have successfully connected the Airport Express to your home network!
    9. Go back to your PC with iTunes. Open the Airport software - you should now have a listing for your Airport Express unit in the upper left. Click on this, and the wizard will guide you through connecting - you will need the password you created for the unit. You only need to go through this wizard once, and when finished, the software will tell you that can now use iTunes with your Airport unit.
    10. Open iTunes. On the lower right, you will see a dropdown for Speakers, and it should be defaulted to My Computer. Click on that drop-down, and you will see the name of your Airport unit. Click on that name, and now your music will broadcast to the Airport unit!
    11. Play a song in iTunes. Go to your audio receiver, and connect it to the channel for your external connection to the Airport Express unit. You should hear your music from iTunes. CONGRATULATIONS! =)
I hope these instructions were helpful - I am happy to answer any questions, so feel free to contact me, *******************@*****.**.

Thanks for the detailed directions. You are absolutely correct in stating that people should toss the user manual; it's pretty worthless. I have had a problem setting up my new Airport Express as I have described in an earlier post - http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1839873&tstart=45
One quick question - does using your setup process set the AE up as part of a distributed network where the AE is acting as a wireless router where it is extending the range of your network? Or, is it simply a wireless connection to your stereo for iTunes? I am interested in having both, since my AE will be at the other end of the house from the main wireless router.
    Thanks

  • Why is it still so hard to get into safe mode?

One of the worst features in Windows 8 is the many, many steps it takes to boot into safe mode... and it doesn't always get you there. And sadly, Microsoft has brought that into the Windows 10 preview.
Let's be real for a second. Safe mode is a valuable tool for it techs, and can be helpful to the home user. Getting there is a friggin' nightmare in Windows 8, and it's no easier in windows 10. The UEFI bios and boot manager doesn't help either.
Bring back a functioning F8 key, will ya?
On another note, why the hell can't you boot from a linux-based cd and find the windows 8/10 based OS. Microsoft's virus removal tools are useless if you can't boot into Windows... and "refreshing" the drive also ONLY works if you can load the
Operating system.Pulling the hard-drive to scan it for virus removal should not be necessary, but it seems to be with Windows 8, 8.1 and 10.

Ran across this article after putting the 10 Tech Preview on my computer last week. Started off with build 9741 and now have 9879 and I just want to totally agree with the poster that Microsoft seems to have forgotten what safe mode is used for, mostly troubleshooting
when something goes wrong and keeps our computers from booting. I stayed away from both 8 and 8.1 and have stayed with 7. So far the tech preview looks OK, and I like the return of the start menu as well as many other familiar Win 7 features and controls.
But, even with 7, I've had endless hours wasted trying to fix the counterintuitive way that Microsoft seems to think (or not think) regarding these sort of issues. I'll gladly give up a couple (or even 30) seconds to have the option to boot into safe mode.
I've fought with Microsoft over and over again about the way they keep trying to automate troubleshooting even when there are very simple manual fixes. Sometimes it seems like they want to just keep users from having the control we want over how our system
works. And it this case it's just plain stupid that you can't choose to boot directly to safe mode by default from a preloading boot menu. Win 7 had terrible problems with "Bootmgr is missing" after even the simplest of issues such as adding files
to a USB or just a bad defrag or user mistake. I spent hours pulling my hair out after such issues and eventually got myself into a hole because of the way Microsoft looked at the issue. 99% of the time I could have fixed my issue by being able to do a repair
install from startup and it never made sense that you could only do an in place or "upgrade" install as they started calling it, If you can already boot into Windows. Lots of good that does when you can't get Windows to boot in the first place. And
so far the Startup repair in Tech preview is just as useless as in Win 7. Except now it's even harder to get to. I played with it a bit to test it and just a simple thing like moving the bootmgr one file down in the directory or just adding 1 small file out
of place was enough to make tech preview unbootable as well when using the older MBR setups. The new startup repair hasn't fixed it once. I don't know what the refresh really does as it doesnt work either. Gives a vague error with no link to a log and no other
information provided , so dont know where to troubleshoot that one.  Win 7 's startup repair almost never worked for me until I learned the trick to run it at least 3 times with reboots and running SFC /offbootdir /offwindir in the middle. All of those
problems could have been fixed by simply allowing us to boot from the install media to re-install without loosing data. I'm glad to see that at least for now you can do a repair install from boot in the current version of 10 Tech Prev. Please keep that for
the later rollout, Microsoft. And stop messing with Safemode, please! I just made the edits to bcdedit to enable the legacy boot so I hope it works. I know it's still early but so far the Tech Preview has been a real challenge. I ran into issues on Win 7 with
missing Vredist C++ files coming up missing after trying to get DirectX 10 to work. There is a stupid loophole there that Direct X will make you delete allx86 and x64 C++ runtimes that it doesn't like, in this case it wouldnt install with the
2005 SP1 C++ redists. After I deleted them to install the Direct X I ran into a whole hell of an issue with corrupted files due to missing components from the  2005 redistribs that Win 7 would basically shutdown and slowly corrupt everything if
any component of that package was missing and then would not allow you to reinstall them if your system was higher than XP yet would not fix corruptions until they were installed. I'm still trying to side fix my Win 7 installs on my other disks as I consitently
cant get certain 2005 C++ redistribs to install. Now having big problems with massive corruptions in Tech Prev, to the point that it becomes totally non responsive and icons and folders almost totally go away in a very short period of time. DISM was
pretty limited in Win 7 so I'm trying to get onto that but the commands are kind of confusing me and it doesn't work consistently and I thing the online store components are not being made available for repair as I get a lot of "failed to obtain image
from provider" messages and it's giving me a lot of problems when I try to mount my iso as a wim file. Hate to say it but I've been working with 10 Tech preview on 2 computers (test out homegroup) and I've installed and reinstalled at least 5 times on
each computer but within 30 minutes of a good install its corrupted again and Dism will stop working all together. Anyway, wish they'd stop messing with our tools. Bring back safemode by default guys.

  • I can't get my Airport express to work in client mode with my speedtouch base station?

Im trying to add my Airport Express to my exisiting wireless network - which runs from a speedtouch base station. I only want to use the AP to use air tunes but i cant seem to get it running in client mode. The interface on the Airport Utility seems different to that described in the online help here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1731
Everytimes i try to add it to an exisint network the AP dissapears on its restart. Any ideas if what im trying to do is possible. I've tried creating the network initially with the ethenet cable connected - which works, but then when its detatched although the AP status light stays green it disapears from from the network and i cant stream.
thanks for any help and advice.

In order for the AirPort Express to join another wireless network as a "client", three conditions must be met in the setup of the Express. It must be provided with......
    1) The name of the wireless network that is to be joined
    2) The exact type of wireless security settings that the wireless router is using
    3) The wireless network password
Most users have no trouble with 1) and 3), but few know the exact type of wireless security settings that their wireless network is using. So, they accept a default setting on the Express, which does not match up with their network.
Bottom line....unless you know the exact type of wireless security settings that your wireless router is using...the Express will never join the network. The setup ends with an error message and you have to start all over again with another try....which will fail as well, etc.
If you know the exact type of security settings that the Speedtouch router is using.....we can provide you with a step by step setup guide.
If you do not know this, or are unsure....you will need to get into the setup menus for the Speedtouch router to locate the wireless settings. Or, if the wireless router was provided by your ISP, they may be able you with this information.
Post back with that info and we will proceed.

  • I bught a new Time Capsule 2Tb. I connected it to my internet router. I manege to set it up as base station but when i try to use it with time machine I always get the message "Check your IP addres"? What am I doing wrong? On my computer I have OSX 10.7.5

I bought a new Time Capsule 2Tb. I connected it to my internet router. I manage to set it up as base station but when i try to use it with time machine I always get the message "Check your IP addres"? What am I doing wrong? On my computer I have OSX 10.7.5

What IP address does the TC have and what IP does the computer have?
We need more info as we really have no idea what your network looks like.
Modem router, model, type of broadband?
TC setup as bridge or router?
Is the computer getting internet via the TC?
Are you using wireless or ethernet?
Have you set IPv6 correctly to local link in the computer on whichever network client is doing the connection?
Did this work the first time for backup and has now failed? If so simply reboot the TC. It is a constant bug that the TC is lost to the network.

    java.sql.ResultSet rs=stmt.executeQuery("select task_title from task");
    while (rs.next()){
         //getInformation
         String fjbh=rs.getString("task_title");
If I use this in a common java program(like MyParser.java). It will work well:
    D:\JavaApp> java MyParser
but If I put the code into a JSP file . It will not work.I tried several times.
    I find that the statment:
         java.sql.ResultSet rs=stmt.executeQuery("select task_title from task");
will throw the exception. It seemd that I can connect to the database ,
but can not execute some sql statment.
If I execute this sql statment:
         select sysdate from dual ;
         or
select task_ID from task ; --task_id is a column with the type NUMBER(10)
    it will work.
    but if I execute :
select Task_Title from task where task_id=1; --Task_Title is a column with the type VARCHAR(50)
         or
         select t.task_text.getCLOBVal() task_Text from task t where task_ID=1;
--task_text is a column with the type XMLTYPE, I use this column save XMLFile.
    it will not work.
the detail error information as follow:
    java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [ttcgcshnd-1], [0], [], []

It is a database bug (an ORA-0600 almost always is). In this case it is bug# 1725012. You can see the details from MetaLink. There are some patches (by platform) available you should see which may apply to you.
