Hi(Bonjour) everyone.
Here's an example of a multitake project done in FCE.
The workflow:
-We've recorded a straigth 110 bpm audio track on an iPod shuffle for the dancer in Logic.
-On set, listening this track, she repeated the choregraphy around 20 times. We shooted all those performances with just one camera.
-Audio for boots and clap hand was recorded in camera with a Rode VideoMic with a windcutter muff as the set was very windy. The mic was placed just in front of the performer and hard wired to cam.
Back in Final Cut, each shots was monitored to put in and out points for the entire choregraphy that last 31 seconds. This way each shots were in synch.
In timeline, I've placed the main shot on V1 and added some takes from other PoV. Each time, the additionnal take was placed on V2 with IN pont in synch with the main shot and cut at the right place.
We've exported the sequence in Logic Express and the musician begun their session with the 110 bpm metronome monitoring. They played music for about 40 sec. This process allows a perfect synch between music and dancing when edited together.

How to render or output a multicamera project

I am thankful for the previous help and now I have the multicamera project almost done. I used multicamera window and went through 1 hour of film shot from two cameras. It went into sequence 002 and then I put video transitions between each clip. It plays fine in the project window. I don't know what to do next. I tried export - media and that brought up a window with a preview and output preview and choices of dvd. I left it on ntsc dvd and click export it put a 1 meg file on the computer, project file or something. It takes about a second to do that. I tried rendering workspace and rendering time line and that takes way longer but results in 130 separate files on the hard drive. I don't know what to do with them. One time early when I was playing with this with a single video file I had adobe encoder come up, but I can't find that anywhere now. I don't understand how to get this video with the transitions rendered out to an avi file. Thanks for helping, I have a book coming from Amazon on how to use this, not here yet. I find the adobe pdf help file, not so helpful. Doug

What version are you using Doug?
If CS4, you file>export>media and it opens up the dialog you mention. Then choose the one you want. This will in turn launch the Adobe Media Encoder which will actually do the rendering. Note where the output directory is. From there, you should be good to go.

Multicam project: rendering timeline disabled multicams in viewer

i am working on a multicam project and recently rendered my timeline, ever since i did that, i have been unable to view the multicams in the viewer while playing back in the timeline. if i go to a spot in the timeline and pause, i can see all cameras, but once i start playing, i only see the selected camera. i did a test with a new sequence, created a short multicam clip and was able to see all cameras in the viewer. then once i rendered the new test sequence, i could no longer see all cameras. i am making sure that i am selecting "open" instead of "sync off" from the top pulldown of the viewer. finally, i closed out fcp, deleted the newly created render file for my test sequence, reopened the project, of course i got a message that one render file was missing, pressed continue, played back the sequence, and once again i was able to see all cameras. so my question is, is this the fix? delete all of the render files for the project so that i can view all cameras, seems kinda strange this is happening....

You could just duplicate the sequence and render that for client viewing, keeping your working version unrendered, until you're ready to render.
Overall, it basically depends on your workflow and what you're doing. Mine has a pretty slim range of workflow steps, so I just duplicate the sequence when I'm ready to move to the next stage. This way I can always go back to an earlier version or stage of the process if needed.
Also keeps me from filling up harddrive space with unnecessary rendering. I generally do my render once I've got a 'locked cut' in place (collapsed sequence w/color correction, filters, L3rds...etc), then I duplicate that sequence after rendering to add different show opens/closes for different final outputs. The duplicate retains the original render files, so I don't have to keep rendering each final sequence.

Multicam Project Non-Stop Rendering

I created a multicam clip in FCP X.
I synched based on the first marker on each clip. I used a clapboard.
I using four clips and they're DV, so I know my system can handle it. (I've used five HDV streams with no problem.)
The rendering will not stop and it's been more than 20 hours since I loaded my last clip. I'm using a MacBook Pro conncected to an external drive via FireWire 800.
Another problem is that the audio and video are off by about a half-second. After dozens of multicam projects, this is a first for me.
Why is this happening? Could it be because I have FCP 7 and X on the same MacBook Pro?
I had a problem editing a multicam project on FCP 7 last week. The clips would not sync. When I moved my external hard drive to my Mac Pro, which does not have X, the problem disappeared.

It's possible for X and 7 to play nicely together on the same drive.
Follow these steps and you'll be fine.

My approach was to programmatically redirect to the page again with _nfpb=false. I do this in the handlePostbackData() method in the portlet's backing file.

Has anyone else had a problem with playback right after placing a cut in a multicam project?

I am working on 4 multicam projects concurrently. 2 sets of same shows but different performances. One program is funtioning just fine, the second studders (pauses) for 8 to 10 seconds after each edit, then jumps ahead to where the play head should be. It really slows the process down. I keep trying diffetent things, like proxy, original media, etc. but it dosent seem to help. I am nearing the end and don't particully want to start all over, but that may be the only solution.

Also, Keeping an eye on the processors via activity monitor, I noticed that every time I select an edit in the multicam clip all but one processor stops funtioning and that one runs up to 100%. This only hapens while editing this one particular project. All other projects work fine. The stall lasts about 10 seconds but only the video freezes, the audio continues to play on.
Any sugestions, or ideas of things to try. Open to anything.

Can I change the resolution of a clip in a multicam project?

I am half-way through editing a project in Premier Pro CC and have JUST noticed that one of my four clips is 1440x1080 whereas the other three clips are 1280x720. Is there a way to scale down the one clip to match the others in the existing project? I welcome any suggestions on how to correct this. It would be nice to not have to start the edit over if possible. This whole project has been a challenge from the beginning... mixed formats, spanned clips, nested sequences, not to mention the differences in multicamera editing in this newest version of PP. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for your reply. I don't think the CC version works that way. I've tried it several times and it just doesn't open like in earlier versions. It only shows the one single video and audio track.

How do I share all angles of a multicam project versus a single stream

I have a project in which I am trying to demonstrate the impact of diferent filters/settings across 4 cameras. I have captured and syncronized all four cameras using an audio track. So far no problem. I however cannot determine how to export/share the the final project so that all four cameras are seen in a 2x2 setting, very similar to what is seen during the multicam editing process. I only see how to produce a single stream which allows me to switch/cut between the various angles (if I were so inclined to do so..)

Thank you very much, and yes, I am using Multicam to sync the stream. Your reply definitly moved the ball down the field. However, while in the red zone, I have one final problem.
With 4 streams overlayed in a multicam clip, when I attempt to crop or otherwise resize one of the 4 streams, I am not seeing the next stream below. I suspect this is because I produced the stream as a multicam versus Compound Clip. Here is a picture of what I am seeing:
Assuming my hunch is correct, I am left with a dilema: I need to have all four clips syncornized. Multicam addressed this. However, I now need to be able to transform/crop the individual clips into 4 concurrent views which I believe can only be accomplished via compound clip.
Any thoughts on how I can achieve my goals?

How do we add multiple java example folders as projects

Hello,
I was wondering how I can add folders obtained as chapter wise and containing examples of Servlets and JSP from "Servlets and JSP cook book" into WebLogic directly. The way I am doing it right now is to create a dummy project and copy all the files servlets, jsps, html, to their respective locations.
The problem is, each of the folders in itself is not a WebLogic project and so does not recognize any projects when I use import and click existing projects into workspace.

Selecting Multiple Clips from Same Angle in Multicam Project

I edit motor sport events using up to 8 camera angles. Once I have edited the multicam I will generally reduce the overall audio level of the entire multicam edit. Invariably certain camera positions will have a higher audio level than others. In FCP 7 I would adjust the audio of one such clip angle, copy the clip, then simply cmd+f and input the name of the angle clips I want to adjust, then paste attributes and select audio as the attribute I want to adjust.
In FCP X I cannot find a way of doing this..... It appears I have to scroll along the timeline and cmd select each clip.... which is a nonsense. I should be able to select every clip of one particular angle. Am I missing something? This should be really easy to select every clip from one particular angle, but I have yet to find a way to do it and it is vital I can do this to save time. Nothing in the help files.

You can't select all the individual clips in the multicam edit.... All of the clips in the multicam are titled the same way...." Multicam xxxxxx". If they appeared as Angle 1, Angle 2, Angle 3 etc. You could select the individual angles as I need to do, but they are not listed that way.
To adjust the audio in the angle editor so that the audio from each camera was the same maximum db level, I would need to be able to "normalise" the audio from each angle to, for example -18db. In FCP X they have removed the normalise audio feature, which is such a nuisance As I used that a lot in FCP 7 to get audio to max at the required level. I can't adjust the audio in one angle until I have them edited side by side and can see the difference in db between them.
Any other ideas?

Examples of iMovie projects...where?

Is there a website that has examples of projects done with iMovie? I'm always on the lookout for ideas that I can include with my corny home movies. I'm not interested in seeing stuff on youtube.com...I'm more looking for examples of stuff people might put together for keepsake reasons like vacations, holidays, special outings etc.

Premiere CC Multicam Project Freezing

Recently started encountering errors with Premiere freezing after adding multicam sequences to the project. For a couple hours it was working great, and being very responsive (working the way it should). Then out of nowhere it froze on me, and the playhead would not respond, of course then "not-responding" popped up and was only able to close by force quitting in the windows task manager.
For trouble shooting I then did the following things
- restarted system
- open other projects without multicam and verified they worked normally
- checked for updated graphics drivers
- ran windows disk check on the drive the media is on, even though other projects on the same drive work fine
- tried to work on other parts of the project where no multicam was. This had the project being super laggy and not playing footage until minutes after pressing play, then of course freezing after a couple more minutes.
- Opening Premier while pressing alt

I did find what caused the problem. I put the stock Multiband Compressor plug-in onto the master audio track in the sequence containing all the raw video. This way no matter what part of the multicam nest I was cutting from (they are interviews) the plug-in would be applied globally. I guess Premiere does not like this one bit. So now I have to do it the long way and go clip to clip though the whole project.
Does anyone know if there is another workaround for this? I am going to submit the issue as well in hopes for a bug fix.

FCPX and 4K, multicam, projects, proxy, efficiency, etc.

I already have a few projects in the program. Several Red4K format and some in 1080p. One is a concert for 9 cameras. Each of them has a lot of effects plugins.
The thing is that I noticed that as soon as you start the program, all projects and results in them seemed to activate it. Why? Should not
is made at the point when I select the project you want to work on?
The second issue. Project with multiple cameras, includes PROXY files so that faster
work with so many sources. The point is that switching between files
optimized proxy takes a little long. Small projects quickly switch
but large ... In addition, I noticed that switching between formats
also occurs immediately on all projects. Again I ask - why?
This philosophy makes in a situation where we grow the number of projects,
efficiency decreases with each added a new project.
I want to select a project and then let all the events associated
to activate him rather than all at once. The same applies to files OPTIMAL / PROXY. Why all at once!

Or you can hide them manually by creating folder called "Events not in use", "Projects not in use" and place the events and projects you want to hide in those folders. This is what event manager X does automatically for you.

Question about the example hfm sdk project HfmEAExtractSample

I am trying to open the hfm sdk sample project hfmeaextractsample,which is a vb.net project to call the extended analytic functions in vb.
it referenced several hfm dll, including Hsvmetadata.dll,Hsvsession.dll,Hsvstarschemaacm.dll and hsxserver.exe, from the guide it said I need to install the hfm client, I did, after that I found out these files were llocated at server, so I copied them to local pc. and tried to reference them in this vb project. I was able to reference the hsvmetadata.dll and hsvsession.dll, but the reference of the hsvstarschemaacm.dll and hsxserver.exe failed, anybody has idea how can I get this fixed?

I just tried to call the api to extract security file but failed. Investigated for some time and finally worked it out. Remember to do the following steps:
1. Copy the "Server" folder from the server in the install directory for referencing the related libraries e.g. HsvSession.dll, HsxServer.exe
2. Enable DCOM in the Financial Management Configuration Utility

Making a project multicam

Here's my workflow: I import video from a Canon XA10 and from a 7D. I transcode the .mts footage using Pavtube, then put all footage into Pluraleyes 3 to sync up. I export to FCP X as a multicam project.
Problem is I can't figure out how to get into muticam editing mode. Meaning I can select different streams as a multicam project. What am I missing?

down on your initial
