An interesting problem from trying to retrieve an RAD

I'm trying to use the PDK API and more importantly wwctx.get_osso_user_guid in order to try and make a call to the OID and retrieve the schema information.
Our product should be able to see a users RAD and present the information accordingly. However, I have found no method of doing this other than getting a users GUID and the looking them up in the OID and returning their extended properties.
But here is the issue. I have a small piece of code

and on initial login it does not display. however when i goto another tab and open up a form applet and return to the welcome page, the value is filled. how can i get this information at logon without opeing a form applet, and are there any methods to also load the RAD schema too?
the ultimate aim is to have this code
'from ccdb_test.ccc_proj_colour_v p' have the ccdb_test part dynamicly filled from the RAD.
i'm new to this so sorry if its sounds confusing.

Interesting problem from a noob

I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro ver 8.0.0
A co worker of mine had a company create him a small cataloge which was sent to him as a .pdf. When viewing the file it is easy to see that it is in the format of a book (ie the pages would be printed and stacked to make the pamphlet). I was asked to make this 10 page pamphlet available on our website for viewing. Now, with the format it arrived in (book form) I could not simply just load it onto the website as the pages would be out of order. I had a good deal of difficulty in trying to manouver pages and rotate them as they where sent to us in a landscape format although when viewing them they where sideways.
To get around this, here is what I did, (likely quite convoluted for experienced users). I converted each page of the pdf document to a jpg. I then opened each page in photoshop and cropped each halfpage then adjusted its size to 8.5" width and then saved as a jpg again. Once I had all my individual sheets as jpgs with correct size and orientation, I converted them back to pdfs. Once converted, I combined all the individual sheet pdfs into a new binder pdf. I am happy that the orientation is correct and the page order is now correct.
The problem is that my fist page/image is way smaller than the others. I cannot understand why this should be so. The jpg which it was derived from has the same size properties as the other jpgs that where converted.
If any one can understand my issue and help me resolve this I would greatly appreciate it.

There is no nice solution to this, but anything involving JPEG or
Photoshop will, I fear to say, make for a terrible result. You will
lose most of the advantages of the PDF format.
You could consider using Document > Crop Pages to crop all the pages
to get the left; repeat with a second copy for the right; then merge
the pages together. Still, all the deleted info will be there, making
the file needlessly large.
Ideally, ask for the PDF in its original format, which would be easy
enough for the creator to have made. Bear in mind that they may charge
for this (and indeed, they may well own the copyright and might not
allow it on the web without their permission; it depends on the
original contract).

So you had music on the iPad that is not in iTunes and you no longer have the iPad. Is that what you are saying? If that is what you are saying, iTunes won't "recognize" anything that was on the iPad, that was not purchased from iTunes. If the music was purchased from iTunes, you should probably be able to download it again for free as long as you are using the same Apple ID that you bought it with. Did you try downloading the music again?
Am I understanding what it is that you want to do? If I am understanding you correctly, you will find this to be useful.

I admit that I'm a little confused by your remark about being logged into your iPad account. You should be logged into your iTunes account.

Trying to retrieve data from a dead computer.

The computer is a 1.25Ghz PowerBook G4 (about 5 years old) running 10.3.9.
The computer crashed and will not start. It reaches the apple logo with the rotating meter, but will then sit there pretty much as long as I'm willing to wait (more than an hour at least).
The last time this happened I used disk utility on the restore disk to repair the permissions, which solved the problem. However, this time it hasn't. The permissions were repaired successfully, but the computer still will not start. I then tried running the disk verify and found several errors, however, when running the disk repair, it immediately hits an error and stops. Now it won't even verify the disk without getting an error.
Next I tried just reinstalling the system software (without erasing the disk). It completes the disk verify, but then errors right at the start of the install.
I would be willing to just erase the disk, but my wife has pics of our daughter on the computer that haven't been backed up yet and she doesn't want to lose them.
I have tried using the Target Disk option, but the PowerBook's HD took about 5 minutes to mount and then I was not able to read anything from it. The computer I connected to just sat there "thinking" for about 15 minutes. I'm guessing the PowerBook crashed because the Firewire symbol stopped floating on the screen as soon the disk mounted. I tried it twice with the same result.
I have also tried installing the system software to both USB 2.0 and Firewire 400 external hard drives and the installer tells me it cannot install to that drive.
The computer does suffer from a fried RAM slot (occured about 2.5 years ago and it has never been as stable since) and a fried logic board fan.
Anyhow, then question is, is there anything else I can try? Is the Hard Drive fried? Can the data be retrieved without advanced super computers and a multi-million dollar budget?

I suspect the the internal HDD of your PowerBook G4 has died. The average life of these drives is 3 to 5 years, so you got about as much from it as you could reasonably expect. A new HDD should revive the computer.
As to the files you are trying to retrieve, if you plan to replace the HDD, you can place it in an external firewire enclosure after it has been removed and connect it to a working computer, download a demo version of DataRescue II, mentioned by Limnos, and see if any of the files you want to rescue are visible. If you see them you will have to purchase the license to be able to complete the process. Dr. Smoke's FAQ Data Recovery is a good resource for this procedure.

TCP packet out of state: First packet isn't SYN & Outlook is trying to retrieve data from the Microsoft Exchange Server [CAS-ARray]

We are transitioning from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010. We found Outlook online mode (non-cached mode) have many warning "Outlook is trying to retrieve data from the Microsoft Exchange Server [CAS-ARray]", usually happen when users tried to open
address book but sometimes even normal operation like click the Send button. The problem does not affect OWA and extremely rare when Outlook is running in cached mode. Check the firewall logs, we notice a lot of "TCP Packet Out of State" drops.
We have a lot from the CAS/HT to DC/GC on TCP_3268 and LDAP. And the errors are "TCP packet out of state: First packet isn't SYN" with tcp_flags FIN-ACK, PUSH-ACK.
We also have a lot from CAS/HT to the Outlook Clients on the static RPC port (TCP_59933). And the errors are "TCP packet out of state: First packet isn't SYN" with tcp_flags FIN-ACK, PUSH-ACK and RST-ACK, ACK.
This happens even on Outlook 2010 which I though it has TCP Keep Alive implmented to keep the session active within 1 hour.
Can somebody tell me if these out-of-state are the cause of our problem? And how to fix it?

I did some consulting with our CAS team and received the following feedback to your post:
It is difficult to determine what is causing resets without seeing the captures first hand however, the concern is that you are seeing dropped packets on the firewall logs. Where is this firewall located?
Based on the description "Check the firewall logs, we notice a lot of "TCP Packet Out of State" drops." and "We have a lot from the CAS/HT to DC/GC on TCP_3268 and
LDAP." indicates to me that the firewall is between CAS and GC. This not supported under any circumstances and would explain the issue they are seeing with clients trying to "retrieve data from the GC".
If there is not a firewall between the GC and CAS then a Microsoft support engineer would need to have concurrent Netmon Captures from client, CAS, GC during the
issue to analyze. If only one GC exists consider adding another GC to handle the client requests and for fault tolerance.
Also verify that all NIC card drivers are updated to the latest driver version

Problems with Apple Mail retrieval from EarthLink

I just bought a new computer (MacBook Pro 10.8.2 Mountain Lion) and when trying to set up Apple Mail v.6.2 I have a problem. It won't connect properly with my ISP email (EarthLink). I am unable to retrieve any POP mail on Apple Mail. It keeps saying "Logging in to the Earthlink POP server "pop.earthlink.net" failed. Make sure the user name and password you entered are correct....." However, I am able to send mail via Apple Mail because the outgoing mail server (smtpauth.earthlink.net) does work. It's strange because it's the same user and password. So I can send but not retrieve using Apple Mail.
I also have Thunderbird, which I don't really like, and its POP setup both sends and retrieves from EarthLink without a problem. Plus I can always go to the EarthLink website if necessary. So this is not critical, but I prefer Apple Mail.
Any ideas?
(I'm also going to contact EarthLink to see if they can help.)

I'm having this difficulty with my shared host provider as well. hostpapa.ca keeps telling me to 'check my account settings.' This is not difficult to do and the error code I keep getting tells me that there's a problem connecting to the mail server.
While I argue with them, is it possible that there is a problem from within Apple Mail or with my wifi? Mail works well when I'm not on my home network - at the office, on 3G, if I use webmail, if I connect directly to my DSL modem. I tried to delete the account and add it in again - but it just won't connect when on wifi.
I'm wondering if there's anyone who has an answer to this...?

The following error is coming while trying to retrieve data from BW BEx query (on ODS) when the Characters are more than 50.
In BEx report there is a limitation but is it also a limitation in Webi report.
Is there any other solution for this scenario where it is possible to retrieve more than 50 Characters?

That warning / error message will be coming from the MDX interface on the BW server. It does not originate from BOBJ.
This question would be better asked to support component BW-BEX-OT-MDX

Sounds like you have an outstanding balance. You have to pay that of before you can make purchases, even free ones. Add a valid payment method to your account

If your contacts are on icloud.com, download them as a vCard as explained here: iCloud: Export contact information as a vCard. Then import them to your phone as explained in your manual. If you aren't able to, you can create a Gmail account and import the vCard to Gmail as explained here: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/183711?hl=en, then add the Gmail account to your phone and sync your contacts from Gmail.
If they aren't on icloud.com, I'm not sure how you would access them from a backup on a Samsung, even if there was a backup.

Something changed on your system, possibly when Google Chrome installed. It could be many things, but what it boils down to, is it needs to go back to the way it was. Either by removing whatever else might still be left from the install, or maybe by reinstalling the printer itself.

If you have iPhoto '09, you cannot browse or restore seleted items from your backups. See the pink box in #15 of Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions.
Mail should work, however, per the blue box there.

Problems when trying to migrate from 6.0 to 6i

I'm having problems when trying to migrate a Designer 6.0 application to 6i.
When I get to start the migration after having selected the source application, the process fails immediately after I've pressed the button.
I'm getting the error: CDR-21244: This process has been aborted and the advice to check the log file. But no log file is created.
I've read Note 234984.1 which gives two suggestions in this situation: That the ORACLE_HOME environment variable is unset, and that the LOG_DIRECTORY_RAU directory is writeable. Both is fulfilled in my situation. However it seems that the migration procedure tries to start imp - I've noticed a short flash with the command prompt screen - and when I try to start imp manually from the command prompt I get errors. I was able to fix this error by setting ORACLE_HOME and ORA_NLS33. But the defining ORACLE_HOME is "illegal" ref. Note 234984.1. Of course I tried to leave it anyway, but that didn't help neither: The migration still dies a quick and silent dead.
So now I'm stucked. How can I carry on?
The source is on version 6.0.3.5.0 running on 8.1.5, and the taget is version 6.5.92.1.9 running on 8.1.7.4.

If the iPhone is still working and the photos are in the Camera Roll (i.e., taken on the iPhone) then, when you connect the iPhone to your PC, it should be recognized as a Camera and Windows should start AutoPlay.
