Anaglyph (cyan-red glasses) 3D in Acrobat 3D?

Hi everyone,
I'd like to know if there'd be a way to see 3d content in a pdf 3d file with anaglyph 3d with red-cyan glasses in real time. Is there some code that we could enter in the 3d file to unable that or is there a plugin or something that could make that possible?
Thanks,
Julien Grimard

Hi, I think this should be possible, and I do intend to try it in October (busy until then). The approach I will take is to have two branches of the model tree, one called "left" and one called "right". Initially they are identical, and only contain red geometry. That is, there are duplicates of every element of the scene.
The rest of the solution requires JavaScript:
On just the *first* redraw, all the geometry in the right tree has its color changed to blue.
Then on *every* redraw event, all the geometry in the "right" branch of the tree has its position recalculated from the position of the matching element in the left tree (basically move it all left or right in the projection plane of the camera according to its distance from the camera).
Obviously on the first redraw one could instead duplicate the existing geometry tree so you wouldn't have to start with a doubled-tree.
If anyone wants to work on this together, eg. an expert in the JavaScript side, I can help with the necessary reprojection calculations etc.

  • What is the equivilant of the Cyan/Red slider?

    I'm so used to the color balance tool, but I love that camera raw is so easy to change a large folder of images quickly without an action.
    The whitle balance (is like blue/yellow slider), and the tint, (which is like the magenta/ green slider), there is no equivilant of the red/ cyan slider there?
    Ditto same question for the white/ black points in the levels adjustment layer -- is there an equivilant of that in camera Raw? So nice to be able to quickly click on a white spot and see it everything becomes nuetral. Don't see that ability in Camera Raw, maybe I missed it. (assuming you did not take a grey card shot for the white balance tool).
    Finally I remember, is it lightroom though that there were all these color sliders, very in depth, can't locate that now! thanks.

    Are you using Photoshop CS5? The PS Adjustment layers have the PS version of TAT which allows on the image adjustments.

  • 3D anaglyphic no depth help

    Hi,
    I have just ventured into the world of creating anaglyphs (3D red/cyan)
    I can easily manipulate a photograph to get great results no problems.
    Now I am actually implementing some 3D into a game ( you will have to use red/cyan glasses of course).
    While I can create the backdrops etc to look awesome the problem comes when I try create another object and import it into the game.
    1) I create the static background export as a png, load into game  = perfect
    2) I create a single object export as png, load into game = no depth, just a blackish border around the object.
    3) If i create the object in photoshop turn it 3d and then duplicate the object and place in the background in photoshop it works fine.
    So, is it possible to create a single object in 3d save as a png , do the same for a background, place the object on the background and get depth with the object?
    I am thinking it may be to do with the channels and there opacity changing dynamically or something?
    thanks

    Hi,
    yes I am well aware of parallax I use it all the time to get DOF etc, but 3d anaglyphic is different.
    Perhaps I am getting my point across wrong.
    forget about the game issue.
    I create a 3d background  1000px x1000px export it as a png.
    I create another image 60px x 60px again in 3d.
    I place the 60px x 60px image on the background image.
    Why is the 3d effect not working properly with the 60px x 60px image? it has a halo around it(probably ghosting), but does look 3d somewhat.
    It seems the red/cyan(separated in the channels) isn't working correctly.

  • 3D Anaglyphs in elements 6

    Hi all
    New out here and probably repeating a past thread question. Apologies if so.
    Can I create an anaglyph within elements 6? If so, how, and how easy is it?
    I have been trying to find books that will assist with this, to little avail.
    Thanks for your help and apologies to mods if incorrectly posted.

    Use this.
    http://stereo.jpn.org/eng/stphmkr/
    It has many stereo format options, including red.green. cyan/red,bw anaglyph, color anaglyph, etc
    It's dedicated to 3d and it's free.

  • Removing an orangish/red color cast?

    I have a .jpg that was shot outside in the shade of a subject wearing orange surrounded by pumpkins and the whole image seems to have an orangish/red cast to it. I played with Levels a bit, though that did not remove the cast. I am not good with Curves. What are some other ways I can remove the cast?
    Thanks.

    Color Balance and Hue/Saturation adjustment layers.  Color balance is just three sliders (cyan/red, magenta/green, and yellow/blue).  It doesn't give you the control of curves, but you get the simplicity of sliders.  Use those to balance out a decent looking color, then if needed you can tone down any extra orange/red by doing a hue/saturation layer, select "red" and expand the range on the bottom to include some orange, and move the saturation down a little bit.  If you move the saturation down all the way you can see what tones your affecting, then move it up to where you like.
    Edit: I didn't read your post very well on my first pass; just noticed the comment about wearing orange and surrounded by pumpkins.  Heh.  I would do the above in reverse, start with a hue/sat layer and pull down orange a bit so the whole image doesn't scream orange.  Then go into your color balance and cool it a bit more.  If you want to really give a go at editing, you can mask off some of the orange so you cool down everything else besides the orange.  Blue and orange are complimentary colors, they should go well together.
    Also, when I have images that are too dominant in one color I usually find that a general desaturation of the entire image helps.  Not a ton, just to take the edge off.  Besides, the cool desaturated look screams Autumn, IMHO.

  • Lens correction and chromatic fringe - broken in CS5 ?

    Hello, chromatic aberration correction has changed since CS3.
    It's limited to ONE pixel correction, or what ? It seems i cant get strong cyan/red bands anymore, i used it as an artistic effect and i need it back. Any way to have it behave like before?  I'm not interested in manual workflow (moving manually RGB channels), thanks.
    Paolo

    It definitely seems different between cs3 and cs5.
    I don't believe there is a way to get the same effect in cs5's Filter>Lens Correction and it's
    not broken just improved i guess.
    You might try a pixel bender filter called Convergence (ships with pixel bender plugin) or Color Separation Effect
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?event=extensionDetail&loc=en_us&extid=2422 029
    You would need to install the pixel bender plugin into photoshop cs5 from the bottom left of this page to use the above filters:

  • Blending similar colours into a solid colour?

    I've scanned a map (actually a nautical chart) that I want to print; see link below to a very small portion of the RGB 8-bit/Chan image.
    http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j54/nigelmercier/sample_zps69cffb91.png~original
    In this I can identify white, yellow, cyan, light-cyan green, dark-green, black, red, red+cyan, red+green... The main image has a few more.
    The large areas of colour have a mottled appearance, where there is a variation. I've used Smart Blur to reduce this considerably, but I'd like to impove it if possible. Is there a way to remove the colour variations? I've tried posterising, but it is too agressive, and I would need to adjust the cut-off points.

    Just off the top of my head: You might try a very careful use of Select > Color Range, Feather the edges a bit (to try and avoid the posterizing effect), and then replace the selection with a solid color.
    Just be careful that Color Range doesn't grab close-color objects you don't want to change.

  • Colour Balance

    Hi,
    I'm looking for a set of controls in Aperture that approximates the 'Colour Balance' option in Photoshop. I saved an action in Photoshop that I used to warm my shots.
    My setting in photoshop was to drag the Red/Cyan balance slightly to Red and the Yellow/Blue balance slightly to the Yellow, which produced a nice, rounded warmth.
    In Aperture, despite detailed colour controls, I can't seem to find one that adjusts the balance in the same way. They are all individually adjusted for Saturation and Luminance etc...
    The white balance tool in Aperture doesn't really offer the same control. Its a bit like Colour Balance in PS but without the Cyan/Red & Magenta/Green sliders
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks.

    Yea the wheels themselves take a delicate touch - they really were meant as correction tools to be used with the droppers to neutralize a cast.
    Just remember you beginning color theory to get the effect you want with the mid sliders and then save your adjustment as a preset template on a template image - Ian Wood has a writeup on his site if you do not know what I mean.
    I remember when this digital thing came along and all of my clients would freak if I sent them an RGB vs CMYK - they had CMYK wired into their print oriented brains.

  • Small window preview question

    Hi all,
    In some graph/diagram drawing applications there is the possibility of showing the whole "diagram"
    in a small window in a corner even if in the main window only a portion of its is visible. This small window
    shows also the visible part of the diagram inside a red rectangle (something like Acrobat thumbnail view).
    Does anyone know how this small window is called and if it is possible to create one in Java?
    Thanks.

    That's not hard to do. Say _diagramPanel is a reference to a JScrollPane containing the component rendering your diagram:
    public class PreviewPanel extends JPanel {
       protected void paintComponent(final Graphics g) {
          final Graphics2D g2 = (Graphics2D) g.create();
          g2.scale(0.2,0.2); //here, of course, you should compute a proper scale factor
          _diagramPanel.paint(g2);
          g2.setColor(Color.RED);
          g2.draw(_diagramPanel.getViewport().getViewRect());
          g2.dispose();
    }...and you're pretty much done. All you have to do then is make sure that the PreviewPanel is being repainted whenever the diagram panel updates in any way.

  • Best equivalent to Photoshop's Color Balance dialog

    I'm trying to understand what's the most equivalent function to Photoshop's Color Balance dialog in Lightroom 2.  e.g. suppose I move the Cyan/Red a bit toward the red to make the image more 'redish'.  What LR2 action will produce similar results?
    thanks!
    David
    PS: for reference, this is what the dialog looks like in CS2:

    Photoshop does Color Balance with far more detail and multiple-input fine tuning options than LR, obviously.  I mean look at the screen shot and all the options available there.
    But in very general terms, and often, for many photographs and many shooters, this is all the Color Balance adjustment they need, moving LR's Develop>WB Temp to the right would have a similar effect to moving Cyan-Red to the right.  Both should warm the shot.  (Try moving these sliders while watching caucasian faces shot in outdoor light in the winter in the north... they'll go from pale to a slightly glowing tan to ruddy.  Or white t-shirts or snow will go from a white or bluish-white to a pinkish-white in ordinary daylight.)
    Just to keep you on your toes, moving the Tint slider to the left in LR's Develop>WB Tint will give a similar effect to moving Photoshop's Magenta-Green to the right.  (YMMV of course, but personally, with a RAW shot taken with a Canon camera and no color profile sliders moved in the camera, I find moving the Tint slider in LR rarely helps a shot look better and so I usually leave that one untouched... but I often do warm shots to varying degrees using the Temp slider.  I think some greyscale workers, or some color workers going for highly creative effects, like to use the Tint slider more than I do.)
    Photoshop's Yellow-Blue would also, I believe, change the warming effect using different tones than Cyan-Red, similar to LR's Develop>WB Temp, again working in the opposite direction.  The advantage of having two sliders that can warm or cool an image in Photoshop is that you can adjust the degree of yellow separate from red in warming, to give more or less of an orange tone to your warming as desired.
    Amping up those Color Levels windows in Photoshop might give a similar effect to boosting Vibrance or Saturation in LR>Develop, though in Photoshop you can tinker with separate levels for separate primary tones, which in LR you could only try to approximate with Develop>Camera Calibration.
    All these sliders may have unintended effects if your monitor and printer are not calibrated, or to the extent that you're using consumer-priced monitors or printers where color balance can be dicey at best.

  • Can you make still photos have a 3D "look" in Motion 5?

    Hello All,
    I don't mean 3D like the kind you need to see with blue and red glasses, I mean that technique where you can make different objects in the still photo appear as if the camera is moving passed them.
    If this can be done in Motion 5 does anyone here know of a good tutorial?
    Thanks for your help.

    no, sorry, me lost in translation:
    I meant, if you have to do some graphics FOR, not with video (arrows, titles, UFOs, masks), Pixelmator is an excellent tool.
    spicing up old film ...
    a) it IS old … so, why not keeping it looking 'old'?
    b) I was lately allowed to use NEAT Video .... I had to use some badly worse compressed arial TV recordings.avi in a HDef project (LOL!) - and that Neat filter did marvel! it didn't only reduced 'noise', it made it vanish. ok, if you exaggerate, the picture gets a 'flat', posterized look. Neat is actually offering a Home edition for 49$ - that's a snap.
    c) usually, if you use M5, you're  using FCPX too - its filters and the Color-'board', wisely used, allow to push faded colors and contrasts very easy = I'm no professional color-grader, but the Color Correction tools are dead easy (deeper shadows? 'deepen'/lower low tones. less orange? drag 'pointer' to orange, low that … etc really 'real life logic', not some weird tech-lingo .... )
