Annual Shutdown maintenance

Hi All,
Can planning and scheduling process of annual shutdown maintenance which is normally carried out using Primavera / MS project software be mapped in SAP PM or SAP PS ? How can we do planning and scheduling activity for annual shut down maintenance process using either SAP PM or SAP PS instead of using any other third party tool such as Primavera /MS project ?

1 You need to Create a WBS, then a Project Definition, then WBS element.
Tcodes
Then Assign these in all your PM Orders related to the Shutdown.
IW32
Then you will be able to see the Planning board through these Tcodes (specially CJ20N)
WBS is not very small subject, This can be learnt by going through sap help documents and simultaneously working on system.

Please guide me the functionality of revision number with transaction code..like while creating order how can we assign revision number to maintenance order, as we are not using different order type for shutdown.

it is entirely depend on your requirement ,if your industry will have shutdown for 3 months every year.
then create revision number say 1 for this year and create 2 for next year.
then while creating maintenance order in header tab page you can select the revision number in the Revision field,system will reschedule to the date specified in the system

4 Annual/Seasonal Maintenance Cycles Issue - Strategy based

Hello Experts,
We have specific set of equipments which require 4 Annual/Seasonal maint. cycles to be performed in four seasons; Spring, Summer, Fall & Winter for every year.
Ex; Winter checks performed in December 2010 would require next call object by Dec'2011 and so on for other seasons as well.
I'm trying to create a strategy for above said, however Dec'10-Dec'11, Mar'10-Mar'11, Jun'10-Jun'11, Sep'10-Sep-11 cycles are not falling in repetitive cycles.
We do not want to have 4 single cycle plans for same equipment, as it calls for too many master data maintenance and reporting complexities.

Can this be done?
If yes, what are the steps?

You could do it indirectly in ECC using a cost centre for each FLoc. You can then plan the costs in the cost centre

Issue in shut down order

Hi all,
I have new requirement that when user creates shut order any other user can not post production order on that equipment. how is it possible kindly help

In PM Orders, you have the option to mention the System Condition.
By having the appropriate system condition in PM Order & Production work center in location tab of that technical object of PM Order, during capacity planning, system will propose that work center has been blocked. But this proposal can be overruled without considering the shutdown maintenance.
But this proposal during capacity planning will happen only after creation of production order.
If you want at the creation of production order, you have to use some exits at Production Order level to see the work centers equipment having PM orders (in your case shutdown orders) while saving the Production order.
There are some threads available on this topic. Do some search & have a look on those.

Do we use Accrual Orders in practical world

I want to get some information about practical use of Internal Order scenario Accrual Order. In real industries or real businesses those who are running SAP... do they use this functionality. If yes then what are the scenarios. I know some which are on web like wages or insurance but i just want to get some practical scenarios which are in use.

I have used previously for distributing the insurance and annual plant maintenance cost which will be incurred at a particular period of time but need to be allocated through out the fiscal year, which is the ideal requirement of managerial accounting

Dear Team,
I want to use standard functionality of SAP that is revision No. I am not able to understand if it is a config activity, How I should use it.
I read some points which is given by SAP are following,
You can enter the following data in a revision:
u2022     Start and end of a revision
u2022     Functional location
u2022     WBS element or network
Kindly help me in updating my knowledge.

Hi,
Revision number can be used to group the Maintenance Orders. If there are more than one Maintenance Orders for certain activity, we can group those Maintenance Orders under Revision Number.
For example, there is Shutdown activity in Plant or some plant sections, that shutdown maintenance will go for 1 or 2 months as there are many equipments & object links.
So Maintenance Orders will be created for all the equipments under that Maintenance Plant or Plant section & those will be grouped by Revision number.
Once all the orders completed for that Revision Number, there is Completed check box to mention that activity has been completed.
Even reports can be seen based on Revision Number.
Revision Number will be created in OIOB.

Equipments Issued for WBS element

Hi all,
A Functional Location can be added to a WBS Element. We have came up with a requirement that once the equipments are issued against a WBS element, those issued are required to be installed at particular functional location automatically.
How we could cater this?
We need to do this without a ABAP development.

if in Order settlement profile is u maintain default settlement category as WBS ,and mention WBS no account assignment tab in eqpt,f.loc then when u create MO on that eqpt or f.loc then in settlement rule u can find the WBS no .... and also for automatic assignment of F.loc to WBS in case of PM-PS intregration for managinig shutdown maintenance etc

if you could explain me requirement in detail then I would share my experience with you.
Does your shutdown maintenance activites more than thousands?
Are you looking at full networking & gantt chart?
Do you require budgetory control also?
Do you require resource palnning also?
If your shutdown activities are in thousands then you can do it in PM otherwise you have to go for PM-PS integration.
Pls let me know all the details so that I can share my knowledge & experience..

Order # Shut down

Ever since we came home from vacation our TV Fios/on demand shuts down after trying and then selecting a movie from our Library. Very annoying when you have a two year old waiting to watch Thomas a movie we purchased. We think there could be something wrong with the actually box since we don't have the same problem with our upstairs box. Another annoying thing has been stated by many already is that the movies never resume where you left off. Movie works fine on our computer. So this is why we think it may be the control box.

App Updates No Longer there

iPod Touch 3rd gen v 5.1.1
iTunes for Windows v 10.7.0.21
Before yesterday (Dec 25/12) evening, I had 5 'updates' on my iPod Touch. I know what they were for, just hadn't done anything about 4 of them yet. 1 update I was NOT going to update as this version would no longer sync with my desktop PC.
On my PC, in iTunes, I also had these identical 5 updates waiting. BTW, I do not update via the iTouch, but update via iTunes on my PC, then sync the iTouch, via usb cable, to my iTunes on the PC.
Then, yesterday evening, suddenly my Touch was saying ALL my apps were 'up to date'. When I check the versions that are running on the Touch, they are NOT updated to the 'current' versions. iTunes on my PC also says: "There are no updates available for any of the apps in your iTunes library." . When I check the actual app, the current app in iTunes is newer than the version on my Touch or in my iTunes Library.

Same here, sort of though my ipod is a 4th gen running iOS 6.0.1
Been over a week, I have over 209, says all apps are up to date!...I find hard to believe????

Passing planned date, call date to equipment master

I just come thro one requirement. We have the instruments going for the calibration process thro Plans. In this what i need is each instruments maintenance plans call date date (calibration due), completion date (calibrated date) which has to pass on equipment master.
Is it any functionality available for passing these values into the equipments master.
Also we are planning shutdown jobs (No PS Module) thro maint order for various equipments. The requirement is in one single order for various machines i have to plan the shutdown jobs instead of going individual order. But its not possible at IW31.
Can i have some idea how you are handling this shut scanario

Hi,
To add these fields in equipment master, i dont think there is a standard way, instead you can use an exit to create a new tab page and add these fields in it.
Regarding shutdown maintenance you can go for revision no., that will help you collaborate all the orders created during this shutdown maintenance. Or create an order as shutdown maintenance and then create its suborders with individual maintenance tasks.

Annual Maintenance Contract for Equipment Pieces in SAP

Hi All,
I am aware of the standard SAP function of Service Procurement.
However my requirement is as follows:-
1.I want to create a 'F' Account Assigned service Purchase order (Annual Maintenance Contract) with a option in the PO screen to enter equipment numbers.On saving the PO,dynamically a Maintenance order should get created with the equipment pieces in the object List.
2.The P.O number of AMC should get dynamically populated in the equipment master view for the equipment pieces mentioned in the AMC.
3.During Notification or Maintenance order creation,I want to use the OIK(Object Information Key) or any other pop-up screen for information regarding the AMC PO Number with validity period.
4.During Service entry preparation want to put the equipment number,for which AMC activity has been performed.
5.Finally want to generate a report to display the equipment pieces for which AMC activity got missed.
Request all to provide a solution for this as all maintenance services have been hired for my equipment pieces and I want to utilize all the standard SAP reports.

Dear Sujoy,
If you exactly require the same way what you have written, it would be a product development and not recomended.
Follow the cycle described below.
1. Create a Contract with F & D (Services & Assigned to Maint Order).
2. Create all required Equipment.
3. Create Equipment Task List with External Operation Control Key and assign the Contract Number for each Opeartion. (Service values from contract will not be updated Automatically, either update manually or do a development for this part).
4. Create Maintenance Plans an dinclude the Task Lists.
5. Orders are generated with PR's with reference to Contract.
6. Let them release monthly or fortnightly PO's.
7. On Submission of Service report, create SES and release.
In this way you will have complete Maintenance History with cost & control.

Annual Maintenance contract

Dear Sir,
We are in sugar industry which is having 6 months of season during sugarcane crushing & next 6 months off seasonal. Most of our machines are given on annual maintenance contract AMC.
My question is how to handle this through PM orders. If i open the PM order now for AMC then this order remains open for whole year. We need to close monthly OR latest by season end (Seasonal OR Off-seasonal).
Is any one handling this senario. Plz advice.
