Use of revision number to segregate shutdown maintenance

Hi,
Please guide me the functionality of revision number with transaction code..like while creating order how can we assign revision number to maintenance order, as we are not using different order type for shutdown.
Thanks
DM

hi
it is entirely depend on your requirement ,if your industry will have shutdown for 3 months every year.
then create revision number say 1 for this year and create 2 for next year.
then while creating maintenance order in header tab page you can select the revision number in the Revision field, system will reschedule to the date specified in the system

  • Displaying "Revision Number" in a report

We use Crystal's revision number as a means to help us track a problem one of our clients may be having with a report we have provided them for use by our application.  Revision number is found in the Crystal file document summary File > Summary Info > Statistics tab.
Is there any method to have a Crystal report display this field.  We are using Crystal-10 and Crystal-XI.
Thanks in advance for any help you might provide.
    Frank

Not what you want,  but I just add a text box, and put the revision number in it.
Now, you could use some of the "Special Fields", like file path and name, modification date, modification time.
and just add them to the report  ( At least these are automatic )
File summary info, can also be used, ( but this is a manual update, if you need to change it )
Comments and Titles can be pulled from this location, using a formula like this.

  • Revision number in sales order and scheduling agreement

I want revision number in sales order as well as scheduling agreement. for this where we configure or
how will it come in VA01 as well as VA31.
    Regards

    Hi Amit,
Its not hard to find this info at help.sap.com
    Sales Order
Definition: Request from a customer to a company to deliver a defined quantity of products or provide a service at a certain time. The sales area that accepts the inquiry is responsible for completing the agreement.
    Scheduling Agreements
    Purpose
A customer scheduling agreement is an outline agreement with the customer containing delivery quantities and dates. These are then entered as schedule lines in a delivery schedule. You can either create schedule lines when you create the scheduling agreement or you can create them later.
You fulfill a scheduling agreement by creating the deliveries in the schedule as they become due. You process deliveries for a scheduling agreement in exactly the same way as you process a normal delivery. After you have carried out the delivery, the system updates the Delivered quantity field in the scheduling agreement item with the delivery quantity. The following graphic shows the document flow for scheduling agreements.
    Integration
You would use this component if you had outline agreements with the customer that contained future delivery quantities of materials that would be sent at certain times within a fixed time period.
If you work with scheduling agreements for the component supplier industry you also need to choose the "Electronic Data Interchange" (EDI) component.

  • Use SVN build number in my pom.xml in JDeveloper

I wonder if someone has already used the buildnumber-maven-plugin or any other way to insert the SVN revision number into their builds in JDeveloper.
The way I have found requires svn to be installed separately because there is a commandline call to svn, but I'd like to use the SVN support JDeveloper gives me, mainly because JDeveloper already has my connection available to the repository.
    Who's done this before?
    thanks!

    Hi Pittsburgh,
    Thanks for your post.
Do you mean that you have added the custom activity in your build template to generate the custom build number, and the custom build number shows as expect in your TFS build result after build completed, but the custom build number doesn’t display in work
    item Found in Build dropdown?
After the TFS build completed and the custom build number be generated, please check the
Builds-teamprojectname global list in your TFS Server, please check if the completed custom build number be added in that global list or not.

  • Use of serial number

    Hello friends,
What is the use of serial number profile in general across modules like MM, SD, PP and PM.
    Narendra

    Hi
When u speak abt serial no, it is not widely used in Plant Maintenance. Since you have already created equipment for all the components... Since that is sufficient for plant maintenance to work on it.
When it comes to Customer Service, where u need to track the equipments installed at customer site...
Say i am a Diesel engine manufacturer... i have sold 100 nos of engines all over in india.. Engines will have different types... each type will differ in each components and serail no..
Wat i do is... create a material and Serial with respect to the client, install the equipment in that functional location. Since the serail no , will be used for the clients to give damaged part, spares etc... bu tthe equipment will be used for us to create order, work on it... etc etc..
    This is relevant to PM..
    For SD, MM and PP...
For PP... u produce many components... u need to maintain some number to check for the history...
if u produce 100 components of same config... u send to different place... u need to track it... so u used to create a serial no for the components...
In MM... u need to maintain the same components produced in PP... so.. u maintain a serail no.
For SD, wat ever u sell a material, during delivery it needs a serial no. for the sold components to be tracked...
For all this purpose u have a serail no profile... which indicates, when this serial no to be created... during production, during storage, during selling or during Maintenance...

  • Annual Shutdown maintenance

    Hi All,
Can planning and scheduling process of annual shutdown maintenance which is normally carried out using  Primavera / MS project software be mapped in SAP PM or SAP PS ? How can we do planning and scheduling activity for annual shut down maintenance process using either SAP PM or SAP PS instead of using any other third party tool such as Primavera /MS project ?
    Thanking you all in advance.
    Pranjal

1 You need to Create a WBS, then a Project Definition, then WBS element.
    Tcodes
Then Assign these in all your PM Orders related to the Shutdown.
    IW32
Then you will be able to see the Planning board through these Tcodes (specially CJ20N)
WBS is not very small subject, This can be learnt by going through sap help documents and simultaneously working on system.

  • Whatu2019s the use of change number?

    Please someone answer !
Once necessary settings are done in OS 54 changes can be tracked with or without change number so whatu2019s the use of change number?
For material or BOM , history documents are created even if I didnt use change number so what is significance of using change number while changing material or BOM ?
    Neal .

    Hi Neal,
    I appreciate your concern.
I know you are intersed in Revision Level, Change Number, ECM etc..
Which you have already implemented or going to implement..
If you have implemented/going to implement ECM, without the Change number mandatory, it will not be effective. (This is with reference to this Thread and one of your last thread also which I tried to address).
It is recommended to use the Change Number mandatory for all the changes because of lots of advantages associated with this..
I thaught in this contact also my earlier post with the Link might be useful..
But never guessed that it will hurt you like any thing.
But one thing I can say is I never posted any junk in this forum.
I am really sorry that I did not gone through your question word to word and most importantly tried to suggest some thing which is of useless to you. I will definetly resist the temptation to help the other forum members also..
    Very sorry..

  • Finding Process Chain using the Request Number

    Hello,
I am new to BI and currently monitoring Process Chains.
I am scheduling a process chain which runs 3 times in a day.
When i see the infocube there are four requests in the infocube, that means one more request apart from my three.
The other reuqest is also being exeuted by user ALEREMOTE which means even it is being triggered by some other process chain.
Can i please know how to find out the other process chain using the request number or so.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Bharathi.

    Hi,
Goto each request and navigate to Infopackge screen and there you ll be able to find the process chain maintenance button. Click on that button, there you ll come to know what are all the process chain have been used for the single or multiple IPs.
Check one by one Request Infopak.
    Thanks

  • PO Revision Number mismatch between two systems

    Hello ,
We are using the PRISM product integrated with OCI to Oracle Financials. Most of the POs gets generated from PRISM and flows thru OCI to the Oracle Purchasing module. We have a customization developed on the Oracle Purchasing side, which allows to update the PO ( Using the Oracle standard CANCEL API) on certain conditions. All such POs which have been updated in the Oracle Purchasing side are in out of SYNC with the PRISM POs. The Setup option "Archive On" was set to "Approval" and will be increasing the revision number and archives the versions to the standard Archive tables. Thus a document with 2 shipment lines (Revision 0) after the above said modifications will become revision 2 and PRISM still looks for Revision 0.
Is there a quick way to deal with this situation, to maintain the archival history and to make both the products in SYNC. Increasing the PRISM version number to match with the Oracle POs version number is ruled out as it is more cumbersome.
Can we manipulate the revision_num fields in PO main tables and in the PO Archive tables? What adverse affects we have if we change these versions ? Kindly advice.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Kiran Kesari

How long has the primary farm been running? My first thought is you may have some orphaned (old) profiles from users who no longer have accounts and maybe haven't been completed cleaned up.
Another thought: Are you syncing the same OUs in both farms?
Do you have multiple authentication stores (Active Directory and a custom FBA provider for example)?

  • Use of revision no,revision date field in bom header details screen

    Hi all,
Please let me know use of revision no,revision date field(customer fields tab) in bom header details screen.I tried with F1 ,no information.
    Thanks
    Sukumar

    Dear,
In standard SAP in BOM header overview there are 4 tabs.
    Quants/Long text.
    Further Data
    Admin Data
    Doc Assignment.
I think Customer fields tab may be customized based on client's requirement.
I Know about revision level. It Identifies the change status of a material.
The revision level can be uniquely assigned to changes made using a change number.
Hope this helps. Correct me if i my understanding of the problem is  wrong.

  • "Hardcoding ini-File Settings" or "Automatic Revision Number with tortoise"

    Hi all,
we use a SVN Repository with tortoise here at our company for version control.
I'd like to get the revision number hardcoded into the Application (.exe version).
I've allready found out, that there is some tool which can scan a directory and replaces a constant string in a file with the current revision number.
(So I could automatically generate a .ini file with "Ver=...RevNr" as content)
But I have no clue, how I can hardcode a file into the application with the labview builder.
(I think of something like the .ico file, which is hardcoded into the application too)
Has someone a sollution for this?
    thanks
    Mario Hirth
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Mario,
    I want to
ensure you mean what I think by "get a revision number hard coded in an Application"
    When we build
    an executable we
display a revision number on the front panel of our application and
we also have a Help -> About menu that displays the revision number
    and other info like build
    date and time.
If this is the sort of thing you want read on for some suggestions.
I have a software release VI
which contains control for things like build data, revision
    number etc. This
Vi is shown from the help ->
    about menu and
    by an indicator on the
    front panel of
    our main application.
    Manual revision control
    Before every build
    you edit this
    Software Release VI
    putting in the
    details you want
in the controls, set these to be the default values and save the VI. When you build the new
    values will then
    be displayed in
    your executable application.
    This method is
    simple to implement
and test; it is a good way to start. You just treat this VI as any other from the
    point of view
    of your source
    control system.
    However this method
    has problems (people
    forgetting to do
    the change before
the build, people not knowing the next
    number etc) and very
    soon you will
want to move to an automatic revision control system.
     I use and strongly
    recommend the OpenG builder
    rather than the
    NI builder, for
    a number of reason.
    1) Good API,
to help you script you builds automatically
    2) Good hooks
    for pre-build, post-build
    and call-backs VI
    integration. For example
    automatically zip up
    your application after
a build an email to somebody.
    3) A built
    in revision system
    you should be
able to get up and running without much trouble
    4) The Build
    configuration files are
    in a human readable format.
    In our system
    which using ClearCase
and not SVN but the same principle applies, this
    is a simplified
    description.
     I have three
    basic files that
are used to auto revision, an ini file
that holds a record of all build for example - 001 29-Nov-2008, the software release
    VI mentioned above
and I use the OpenG builder revision file to allow an easy built in hook in the OpenG builder.
    When a build
    starts a pre-build
    trigger runs a
VI to look in the ini file to see what the next build number should
be, it then adds in a new entry with this new build number and various other information we
    store, the .ini
file is then saved. In our ClearCase system I used a special config specification to
    ensure that EVERYONE
    sees the same
    version of the
    ini file (the
    latest) and after
    it is checked
    in the latest
    is immediately updated
    with this new
    save version again
    so that EVERYBODY
    can see it.
The pre-trigger VI then opens in edit mode the software release
VI in edit mode and plugs into the various control and indicator
    the values read
out from the ini. The version of the software release VI is then saved and closed and then the build start. I do not worry about keeping
    these edited versions
    of the Software
    Release VI in
    the config control
    system, in fact
I throw them away after the build is finished, they are in effect only templates
it is the ini file that
    counts.
     Hope this helps
    as a simple guide
    cheers

  • Svn revision number in the windows bar

    Hi,
I'm thinking of the possibilities of putting the SVN revision number on the bar of application (exe). I'd be usueful feature to quick assess from which source code revision the application is build in.
So what I would need is a kind of trigger/interface which I could use to launch the small piece a code which modify the  application window bar when the application is being build. I thought about preparing the string using the System Exec.vi (to execute svn.exe -st command to get the information I need). But how come can I impose on LV to trigger that code only when the build operation starts?
Or maybe I shall use different approach?

    Hope this helps,
And how does that answer the question about changing the title bar of a window when a build process is initiated?
As to the question: The application build has an API, so if you really needed to do this (and I can't quite figure out why), you could write your own VI to call the application builder to build your app. You can then change the title bar. I'm not sure, but I suspect you may need to resort to using the operating system API to change the window name, as I don't know if you can get a reference to the window that is displayed during the build process. If you have to use the operating system, then on Windows you can use the Windows API Function Utilities (32-bit) for LabVIEW .

  • Access to optimistic lock revision number

We have an existing schema that includes a REVISION column. The current JDBC
code base increments the revision number each time an object is updated.
Ideally I would like to use this same field for Kodo's optimistic locking
mechanism and let Kodo manage the field. The problem is that we need
(read-only) access to the revision value for other purposes. Is there a way
to get this value? I'm okay with using a Kodo-specific API.
    Thanks,
    Tom

Sadly, the mechanism for doing this isn't very well-documented, so here
    goes:
    import com.solarmetric.kodo.runtime.*;
    PersistenceManagerImpl pm = (PersistenceManagerImpl) pman;
    StateManagerImpl sm = pm.getState (persistentObject);
    Object version = sm.getVersion ();
This object is a Number when used with our JDBC back-end.
