Thanks for the kind words about the Arjuna Message Service.
Guroo and Nathan are right about our recent association with HP but the Arjuna history dates back much further to around 1985 as a distributed systems research group at Newcastle University. The Arjuna group focused on object-oriented distributed systems and transactioning in particular. In 1998 we formed a company, Arjuna Solutions Ltd, to sell our transactioning products (OTS & JTS). Bluestone was one company that bought a license for their application server. They liked us so much they bought the company :-) We became the Bluestone Arjuna Lab and were responsible for their transactioning and messaging solutions. In 2001, Bluestone were acquired by HP and we had another name change to the HP Arjuna Lab, again responsible for transactioning and messaging for J2EE and Web services for HP. Our message service was sold as HP-MS and as part of their application server. Following the merger with Compaq, HP reorganized and took a more partner-oriented approach to middleware and decided to cease development of their own stack. As a result, a new independent company, Arjuna Technologies Ltd, was formed. We license our old IP back from HP and continue to develop the products, now offered as Arjuna Message Service and Arjuna Transaction Service. We're also very active in Web services transactioning. See http://www.arjuna.com/company/history/ for more info.

There is no Particular material type for free goods. You can create free goods po for any material type.
go to me21n and Input material and all other details same as other po and put tick mark against free items tab and save. as soon as you put tick mark ir Receipt indicator will be deactivated automatically as free item po doenot requires invoice verification.
You can receipt free goods same as other po. movement type 511 will takes place automatically for free item po
You can receipt free goods without po also use migo 511 material receipt with free of charge.
For Customer Free Goods Post the same in SD forum.

  • Free goods but want to freight cost updation upon GR

    Hi,
    Scenario:
I have a PO with 20 line items and header freight cost.
There are few more items in PO which are ticked as free goods.
There is a stock of those materials with certain MAP.
Freight condition has been configured as vendor GR so that it gets loaded on materials upon GR.
    Requirement is that
Upon GR of this PO,MAPshould get updated with the freight cost for those materials also which have been marked as free goods.
How this can be achieved ?
    Regards,
    manOO

    Hi Rang,
Thanks for the feedback. However service PO is out of scope as client do not want to go for servicees.
I could not understand your suggestion
<u>you give PO to frieght vendor for freight value & in remarks you mention reciving as FREE GOODS from vendor xxxxx & do GR load cost to material & pay to freight vendor. (this is not advisible, but one solution for your problem).</u>
I have to receive one material via purchase order as a free item but I need to pay vendor for the freight charges that will be incurred to ship this item along with all the other items in the same PO.
Can you please explain me further as what you mean to say in your post.
I should be able to load these freight cost on all the materials in PO including the material with 'free' indiactor.
In short upon GR MAP should affect with freight cost as there will not be value addition of the material since received as free.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks in advance

  • Free Goods Determination

    Hello All,
Can any one please explain the process of Free Goods Determination with both exclusive/inclusive and the config settings .
    Thanks in advance
    Regards

    Hello Manoj
<b>Please find the detailed explanation on Free goods below –</b></b>
<b>Free goods</b> play a large role in price negotiations with your customers. As a result, free goods are determined to be placed in sales document automatically. In retail, chemical industry or consumer goods industry, it is common to provide discounts in the form of free goods.
    a.     <b>Inclusive Bonus Quantities –</b> Free goods can be part of order quantity not included in the invoice (billing). This is called inclusive bonus quantity. The ordered goods and the free goods both involve the same material. The quantity units of the free goods and the ordered goods must be the same.
    b.     <b>Exclusive Bonus Quantities –</b> Free goods that take the form of extra goods that are free of charge are called exclusive bonus quantities. In this case, the extra bonus quantities are not typically included in the invoice (billing). This can either be an additional quantity of the goods ordered or it can be another article. The exclusive free of goods appear in the SD document as an individual ‘free of charge’ item.
Both types of free goods are treated in the same way in the sales order. The material that has been ordered is entered as a main item (TAN) and the free item (TANN) is automatically displayed as a sub item. The item category determines how the item is controlled later in the business process.
The system re-reads the free goods master record in the sales order if the quantities in the main item change or if the pricing date changes. The system then deletes the sub items and re-creates them. Any manual changes to the free goods quantity are lost.
<b>Note:</b> If pricing is re-run in the sales order, it does not affect the free goods determination.
The condition technique is used for free goods. Free goods are generally regarded as a supplement to the pricing agreement for a material. You can define master records for free goods at any level such as material, customer/material, price list category/currency/material or customer hierarchy/material. The transaction code is VBN1 and condition type – NA00 which automatically gets converted into R100 during sales document processing.
You can restrict a free goods condition master record for one level in many ways –
    a.     Validity period: the condition is only valid within this period
    b.     Lowest quantity: the condition comes into affect when this quantity has been exceeded.
    c.     Delivery control:
    d.     Calculation type:
    e.     Scales
You can process different master data with the same key for inclusive and exclusive bonus quantities at the same time. You only need to press a button to switch between two types of discount. When you enter an exclusive bonus quantity, an extra entry line appears where you can enter the free material if it is not the same as the ordered material.
When you specify a calculation rule, you decide how the system determines the free goods quantity in the sales order from the additional and document quantities.
    a.     The free goods quantity is the quantity that is calculated from the discount quantity (not the minimum quantity)
    b.     Additional quantity is the quantity delivered free of charge
    c.     Document quantity is the quantity entered by the person creating the sales order.
three calculation rules are provided by the system i.e.
<b>a.     Prorated –</b> the system calculates the free goods in right proportion to document the quantity. For example – if 20 units are offered for free for 100 units in the condition record and the customer orders 162 units, then the system calculates 162 * 20/100 (rounded off) as free goods.
<b>b.     Related to units –</b> 20 units are given for free for every 100 units ordered. In the above case the customer would only get 20 units free as he placed an order for 162 units.
<b>c.     Whole units –</b> the customer would not get any free goods if he doesn’t match the exact quantity proposed. That is, in the above case, the customer doesn’t get any free goods as the ordered quantity did not match 100 units. Anything below or over the mark will not be qualified for a free good.
Calculation rules are stored in the system in the form of ABAP/4 code. You can also define your own rules by using transaction code VOFM (system modifications).
The free goods determination procedure contains a list of condition types for the free goods. One access sequence is assigned to each condition type and each access sequence contains one ore more accesses and each access contains exactly one table. This represents the search key that the system uses to search for valid condition records.
The free goods determination procedure is assigned to sales area + document pricing procedure + customer pricing procedure just as in the case of pricing procedure assignment as free goods are generally regarded as a supplement to the pricing agreement for a material.
If the search is successful, the system generates a sub item for free goods in the document. The item category is assigned with the item category usage FREE.
You can activate an analysis of the free goods determination in the sales document. The system then displays detailed information on how the free goods were determined.
    <b>Reward points if helpful</b>

  • Free Goods Regarding u0096 Sales and Distribution

    <b><u>Scenario</u> :</b>
    I. To represent free goods explicitly in Billing & Delivery & to represent the same in the Invoices & Transport & Shipping.
II. To make account for the free goods in the accounting and Material documents.
    a. Here the free goods may belong to free goods item category.
                 (or)
    b. The same material may be given as a extra free item for n Quantity Sale of a material.
                 (or)
    c. There may be any Free Goods for certain amount of Purchase.
How can we identify items as free goods or there are any compliments for a sale and how do we account for it?

    Hi Peterson
You can identify the free goods by the item category.
For Accounting purpose in Material documents, create a new schedule line category and a new Movement type.
Assign the G/L accounts to the new Movement type.
Assign the movement type to the Schdule line category and then assign the schedule line category to the item category.this will take care of accounting in Material documents.
If you want different G/L account postings at the time of invoice creation then perform the account determination using the item category.
Please award points if this helps
    Thanks

Free Goods Determination in Sales Order
Free goods has the following limitations:
    - Free goods can only be supported on a 1:1 ratio. This means that an order item can lead to a free goods item. Agreements in the following form are not supported: ‘With material 1, material 2 and material 3 are free of charge‘ or ‘If material 1 and material 2 are ordered at the same time, then material 3 is free of charge‘.
    - Free goods are not supported in combinations with material structures (for example, product selection, BOM, variants with BOM explosion).
    - Free goods are only supported for sales orders with document category C (for example, not quotations).
    - Free goods are not supported for deliveries without reference to a sales order.
    - Free goods cannot be used in make-to-order production, third-party order processing and scheduling agreements.
    - If you defined a free goods for variants in a generic article (only SAP Retail), you can only process the variants in the purchase order and goods receipt individually (as single articles). In other words, you cannot process them using the generic article matrix.

Not all Sales Order can be used for free goods determination.  You have to check the SD document category if it does not work.  Only category 'C' are supported.  Check transaction VOV8.
Assume that you want to configure an inclusive FREE goods routine.  Customers must order a minumum quantity of 5 before any free goods can be assign.  For every quantity of 3, the customer will be given 1 free goods.

  • Create Free Goods in CRM Standalone

    This question is for Paul.
Thanks Paul for your reply to my other question yesterday and I did award points. However, since I am using a standalone CRM there is no way for me to replicate any free goods condition type from from ECC.
My question is, if I have a product A and product B in the CRM standalone system, what configuration I need to make so that when I enter product A in my sales order, product B will be added to the next order line as free goods?
    Your input is appreciated.
    Leon

    Hi Leon,
There is no need to create separate free goods materials/products in CRM. You can make use of the existing materials/products as free goods by assigning appropriate free good condition records. In general free goods master data like materials and pricing condition records can be downloaded from R/3 into CRM. You need to do only the necessary free goods customizing activities under SPRO > CRM > Basic Functions > Free Goods > Setup Free Goods
Please refer to the below SAP help document on free goods for complete understanding : http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm50/helpdata/en/b7/4a893a8729337be10000000a11402f/frameset.htm
Refer to the section ‘Replicating Condition Customizing (SAP CRM)’ in C03 best practice document for free good condition records master data download into CRM
Refer to the section ‘Replicating Specific Conditions’ in B09 best practice document for free good customizing data download into CRM
Refer to the section ‘Free Goods’ in C34 best practice document for free good CRM customizing activities.

  • Free good condition type

    Hi Guru's,
when I go to V/06 I do not get to see the condition type NA00 definition.
Any guess how I can see the definition of free goods condition type?
    thanks
    reddy

    Hi reddy
If your are doing any free goods determination then you need to maintain a condition record in VBN1
    IMG->sales and distribution -> basic functions - > free goods determination ->
after configuring you need to create a condition record
In VBN1 it will ask for discount type, there you will get NA00 discount condition type.
In V/06, you can get standard condition types related to pricing
    Reward if useful

  • Free goods issue from vendor consignmemtn stock

    Hai Friends,
I am doing here delivery thru vendor consignment stock. When i do the delivery  with 601 k  movement type. for that quantity vendor liability will be booked thru MRKO Transaction.  this process is going smoothly.  But i got problem in Free goods processing, to narrate in detail.
in sales order for a material free goods (inclusive 8+2), in sales order itself the material will be divided into 2 line items with quantity 8 & 2
When i do delivery  the vendor liability has to be booked for the quantity 8 and not for quantity 2.
ur suggestion are welcome, early responses sure get reward points.
    Thanks

    Hi
If you donot want the system to generate the second line item for the qhuantity 2 and the entire quantity 10 is to be displayed in one line item (8 priced and 2 free)......
goto VBN2 - select the free goods condition record you have created and at the right side colum (not sure of the column name) select the value - FREE GOODS INCLUSIVE Without Line Item Generation.
Now if you create a sales order, it will not create the second line item. Here it uses the condition type NRAB instead of R100 for determining the free goods.
    Thanks,
    Ravi

  • PO Print of Free Goods

Vendor has send free goods but excise duty and freight, etc we have to pay.
If I put free item tick in the PO, the condition tab disappears. I cannot enter the basic price and any other condition in the PO. therefore tax and other conditions cannot be calculated.
In the PO Print we have to print the excise duties and other conditions. Currently it is not coming in PO print.
How we can print the excise duties and other conditions in PO for the free goods.?
What I have to tell to ABAPER.

    Hi,
In case of free goods provided by vendor, create a free PO but need not to take the printout of same and sending it to vendor because in case of free supply of materials (for e.g. samples), vendor doesn't seek any PO document. We create free PO, its for system adjustment.
Just check this with your client, if its really needed then ask your client to maintain Pricing details in Item Text and try to print the same as Remarks in PO Printout, this requires ABAP effort.
And during GR against PO, enter Excise Base Amount, Excise Duty, Ed Cess and SECess manually and post it.
