Hi,

  • Error "NOTICE: [0] disk access failed" during guest domain network booting

    Hi,
Could you please tell me what is the problem with my configuration?
I created guest domain on my T1000 server.
As a disk I used disk from disk array: /dev/dsk/c0t18d0
    I added disk using commands:

    # ldm set-variable auto-boot\?=false myldom1
    # ldm set-variable boot-device=/virtual-devices@100/channel-devices@200/disk@0 myldom1
Then I logged to guest domain and booted from network to install OS from JumpStart server:

  • Disk Access Failed while Installing Solaris Container.

I have setup 5 guest domains together with the Control Domain.

    identity active -t--- 5002 4 4G 0.1% 1h 2m
In each of the guest domain, I plan to install a number of Solaris Containers to run different applications. While installing one Solaris container (zoneadm z <zone name> install) in dmz domain, I start the installation/configuration (either zoneadm z <zone name> install or zlogin C <zone name>) of another Solaris container in identity domain. Everything starts OK until half way I get an error message as follow:
Jun 13 18:33:16 dmz vdc: NOTICE: [1] disk access failed.
The installation of the Solaris Container in dmz halts as soon as I see the message above. Nothing will work except a force stop in the Control Domain using ldm stop f dmz and restart.
What happen to the Solaris Container installation/configuration in identity domain? It either continues the process without error or fails with the same error message shortly after. For example,
Jun 13 18:33:24 identity vdc: NOTICE: [1] disk access failed.
The vdisks for each guest domain are setup by following the steps on section Using ZFS Over a Virtual Disk in LDoms 1.0 Administration Guide. Each guest domain is booted from a disk image in the Control Domain and has two 9GB data vdisks (mapped to two physical 9GB disks on A5200 disk array) running ZFS striping. Each guest domain vdisks are serviced by a separate vdisk server.
    Any idea?

I am not sure if multiple virtual disk servers are officially supported under current LDoms release.
I had tried using only one virtual disk server. The same problem exhibited. I thought may be the vds was not able to keep up with the virtual disk I/O. That's why I setup multiple vds.

  • Can Oracle APEX access/report against an Oracle9i datbase?

Can Oracle APEX access/report against an Oracle9i datbase? I know APEX has to be installed on Oracle 11g or 12c. I have a 11g environment to install it in, but I want to have ti read data from an existing 9i databasethat we are unable to upgrade at this time.

APEX can create reports on any data that the database (which is running APEX) can access.
This becomes a database question that is usually found in the General forum:
How can an Oracle 11g database access data from an <place a name of a database here> database?
    One common answers:  Database Links.
(Materialized Views and Golden Gate come to mind... but, again... these are database problems, not APEX problems.)
I'll let others comment on the practicality of these solutions.

  • Service-module g2/0 session access fails

I did not add a vty/telnet password when I initially configured my NME-X-23ES-1G switch in my 3825 router. Now, of course I can not telnet to the switch, but the session access fails as well. How do I recover this?
    Config in 3825:
    interface GigabitEthernet2/0
    ip address 106.40.x.x.255.255.0
    Attempt to access switch module:
    3825_Router2#service-module g2/0 sess
    Trying 106.40.77.254, 2130 ...
% Connection refused by remote host

The default configuration for Cisco EtherSwitch service modules allows an end user to recover from a lost password. The password recovery disable feature allows the system administrator to protect access to the switch password by disabling part of this functionality and allowing the user to interrupt the boot process only by agreeing to set the system back to the default configuration. With password recovery disabled, the user can still interrupt the boot process and change the password, but the configuration file (config.text) and the VLAN database file (vlan.dat) are deleted.
The following document shows how to recover from a lost or forgotten password.

  • How does Apex access and manage db objects in other schemas?

I'm looking for a description of how Apex accesses and manages database objects in other schemas.
I'm sure I've seen such a description somewhere earlier but am unable to find it again...

    Hi Rene,
When you are connected to sqlworkshop, it is basically connected to the sceham owner of the workspace. If you execute the query
select sys_context( 'userenv', 'current_schema' ), user,  username from user_users;you would see the schema and user(currently connected) and schema owner through which you have logged in. The user will have all the privileges granted to schema owner. So basically you get connected through APEX_PUBLIC_USER and it has all the privileges of the schema owner.
    In order to run scripts in another schema you would need grants on other schema same like you are connected to user A through sqlplus and wants to create objects in schema B. For example lets say you want to create a table in schema B and you have create table privileges in scehma B , you can execute command create table B.emp as select * from A.emp;
I hope this answers your question.

  • All Office 2010 applications (except Access) Fail to Open - Operation has been cancelled error

    Hi,
I have a strange issue on a Win 7 PC with Office 2010 Pro Plus 32bit installed. All applications except Access fail to open with the following error 'The operation has been cancelled due to restrictions on your computer'.
This is whilst logged on as the domain administrator. I have seen forums mentioning this effects hyperlinks within Outlook and the fix is to make IE the default and reinstall Chrome. I have tried this to no avail.
I have tried running a repair and completely re installing Office.
Any advise would be greatly received.
    Thanks
    Ed

You have a completely different symptoms, even though the error message is the same.
Could you please try to right click and run Office application as administrator?
If it works in this mode, this issue is caused by permission setting. Double-check whether your account gets the enough permission to read/write the C drive. If no, add your account to Administrators group or directly add the security permission for your
    account on Drive C.

  • Error burning DVD: Access failed

When trying to burn a project to DVD in Premiere Elements 9, I get an error message that reads "Access failed: Unable to access location Sequence 01\ for creating temporary burning files."  I assume I need to change something either in Premiere Elements or on my PC but I don't know what.  Any recommendations?

OK, that shows that there is some problem with your I/O sub-system, i.e. your HDD's. Could be as simple as just some permissions, etc., in the OS, or could well be something else.
Can you list the full details of your HDD's, their size, speed, controller type, amount of free-space on each, and how you have them allocated?
Also, what is your OS? If Windows, please let us know the version and also whether it's 32-bit, or 64-bit.
    Good luck,

  • BT Vision - HDD Access failed: error code VDR370 ?...

For weeks this box as been playing up, rebooting it self for now reason, this i can take.  Almost 2 weeks ago, woke up for work, turn the TV on and was presented with this: Grey blueish screen: Top left corner "Starting" - Bottom right corner - "BT Vision" - and the bottom middle this "HDD Access Failed: error code VDR370" Now to me this looks like an Hard Drive failure.  Called the Tech Help, the guy said I must be mistaken, that cannot be the code, I said yes.  After spelling out to this idiot that I have gone through the steps on this web site (4 to be precise), it is not working.  i asked can you find out what this means, he said he doesn't know.  I asked to speak to someone who can tell me what this means, nop, all he can do is send out an engineer which will take at least a week for them to arrive, then to make matters worse, if the problem is user error I will be billed £125.95 WT*.
I explained I am an IT engineer, and since no one there can tell me what this error is, I am confident that this error is Hard drive problem, as it is clicking also.  So my question is: What does this error mean " HDD ACCESS FAILED: ERROR CODE VDR370" SIMPLE.

    Hi bazk123,
Thanks for posting. It does sound like this is a drive failure. Is the box making any clicking or whirring sounds? If so it does require an engineer visit to check the box and replace if necessary. I can look into this for you if you wish. Just drop me an email with the details. You'll get the "contact us" form in the about me section of my profile.

  • ADF Mobile: Client state access failed to establish a place for storage

    Hi,
I hope it's fine to ask about adf mobile in this discussion room.
    following problem:
While switching from two views/pages, both display a list, an error was thrown with the message: "Client state access failed establish a place for storage: null".
From the list view, I can navigate to see the details of the list-element. This error message wasn't shown up if I navigate from the details back to the list overview.
The application is developed using jdeveloper 11.1.2.4 and deployed on iPhone simulator 6.1 (xcode version 4.6.3).
There is no further information about this error in the log file. I'm not really sure if this message is really coming from the framework itself.
Has anyone probably ever heard about this message? It'll really helpful.
    Thanks!

    Hi.
I got this error message once. I was trying to copy the full selected row for a table in the view scope using a setPropertyListener. Something like this:
    <amx:setPropertyListener from="#{row}" to="#{viewScope.visit}" type="swipeRight"/>
This will not work. The workaround is not to be lazy and simply copy the row attributes you need one by one.

  • VIN 2 - Access failed. Unknown error...

    Hi all,
I made the deployment of VIN 2.0. Apparently all is well. I entered the license and enabled the discovery. After the first moments when VIN shows the message "First Discovery pending ..." then I get out of all VMs, including the same VIN, the message "Access failed. Unknown error while retrieving data from Infrastructure Navigator".
Any suggestions? I tried to restart it several times.
    Matrix

    Hi Matrix,
There could be many reasons for this.
    Please check for the following:
    1. Does the VIN VA have access to the VC?
    2. Is the above VC configured to use non standard ports for HTTP/HTTPS communication (not 80/443)?
    3. Does the VIN VA have access to the ESX hosts that host those VMs?
Have you contacted your sales engineer / PSO regarding this issue?
Is there an SR open on this?
It will be very helpful to get a support package from the VA to analyze what happened, as this is a very general error.

    Hi out there,
just having trouble with labview dsc and printing the alarm status from the engine.
I got an dcs-project (lv 6.1, dsc 6.1) that printed the alarm status at start and end of the execution of the tag-engine.
I upgraded the whole thing to labview 7.1+dsc 7.1 - converted the project-file (.scf),the database and my vi's
...and the printing doesn't work anymore.
The computer is still the same - (windows 2000), i just installed service-pack 3 additionally. Database is on a local hdd (NTFS).
The error occuring at engine-startup is the following: "Printer port access failed. Printing turned off."
so...where could be the problem in accessing this feature? is there anything wrong with access-rights, database-file or anything else?
Printing with other labview-printing functions does work (i.e. report-printing).
Hope that someone has any experiences with this task.

    Hi Mike,
Hopefully I can help to clarify a few things for you. An MS Access application migration essentially involves 3 steps, to be completed in the following order:
    1. Export the database and application information from your MS Access MDB file using the Exporter tool for MS Access. This tool generates two files: an XML file containing the database schema information, and a SQL script containing the application metadata. You've already completed this step.
    2. Migrate the database schema to Oracle. Using Oracle SQL Developer Migration Workbench, load the XML file generated in step 1, to capture & convert the MS Access database objects to Oracle.
    3. Migrate the application to Oracle Application Express. Using Oracle Application Express Application Migrations, create a Migration Project to retrieve the application metadata from the SQL script generated in step 1. The Migration Project should be associated with the Oracle schema containing the migrated database objects (from step 2).
It sounds like you have carried out steps 1 and 3, but skipped step 2. I would recommend that you do the following:
    * Download the latest release of Oracle SQL Developer, version 1.2.1, from OTN - http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/sql/index.html. It incorporates the Migration Workbench. Review the accompanying documentation from the Help > Table of Contents menu item, specifically the chapter "Migrating Third Party Databases".
    * Create a Migration Repository, which is used by the Migration Workbench during the migration process. In order to do so, you need to create a database user for the Migration Repository. I would recommend reviewing the documentation for further information on this. The section titled "Before You Start Migrating: General Information" will assist you.
    * From the menu bar go to Migration > Capture Microsoft Access Exported XML, where you should browse to the location of the XML file generated by the Exporter tool in step 1. This captures the MS Access database schema information, and create a Captured Model of the information.
    * Right-click on the captured model, and select "Convert to Oracle Model" from its context menu. This creates a converted model, which is a representation of the structure of the destination Oracle database.
    * From the menu bar go to Tools > Preferences, to launch the Preferences dialog. On the Preferences dialog go to Migration > Generation Options, and select the "Least Privilege Schema Migration" and click OK.
    * Right-click on the Converted Model & select "Generate" from its context menu. This will generate the DDL statements to create the migrated database objects. I would recommend that you save the statements as a SQL script.
    * Create a new Oracle connection in Oracle SQL Developer, providing the connection details to the schema associated with your Oracle APEX workspace. Then run the SQL script containing the output from the "Generate" step. This will create the objects in the schema associated with your Oracle APEX workspace.
    * Log in to the Oracle APEX workspace, and I would recommend creating a new Migration Project. You should then be in a position to review the information retrieved from your MS Access application forms & reports.
I hope this helps. Apologies for the length of the posting, but hopefully the points I've outlined will make the process a little clearer for you.
    Regards,
    Hilary
