API to convert PDF to RTF;  .jar files

We need to use java API to convert PDF file to RTF format.
I'm trying to use java example at:
http://livedocs.adobe.com/livecycle/8.2/programLC/programmer/help/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/ht ml/wwhelp.htm?context=sdkHelp&f
ile=000452.html
I have 2 questions:
1. I can't find .jar files for that example:
adobe-generatepdf-client.jar
adobe-livecycle-client.jar
adobe-usermanager-client.jar
adobe-utilities.jar
jbossall-client.jar
Any version of Livecycle I download do not have such files
What I should download to get those files?
2. Could I do conversion having Tomcat only, without JBoss or WebLogic?
Thanks,
Mikhail

1. They should be under C:\Adobe\Adobe LiveCycle ES2\LiveCycle_ES_SDK\client-libs\common. This is the LiveCycle SDK.
2. No can't do the conversion with TomCat only. You need an application server (JBoss, WebSphere, WebLogic).

  • Converting PDF to CCITT Tiff files

    Hello,
I have been given a programming task to convert PDFs into CCITT format Tiff files.
I an new to using Acrobat and have looked at the example code and see the following code.
    JSObj.SaveAs(fullPathTIF, "com.adobe.acrobat.tiff")
This does the conversion fine, but if greyscale or colour PDFs are converted they use a different compression type.
Is there a way to convert the PDFs to black and white before the conversion, or forcing the conversion to the desired compression type?
    thanks
    John

That is correct, because CCITT is only for black & white/monochrome images.
If you wish to convert the PDF to B&W, you can do that as well via other JavaScript APIs (as documented in the SDK).

I can not convert pdf to word ,because file over 100 mb . how can I do ? if I can not convert file ,how can I cancel order ?

To convert documents larger than 100 MB you will need Acrobat; you can download the 30-day trial from https://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html
    To cancel a subscription follow http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/cancel-subscription-acrobat-online-servi ces.html

Do you have any Adobe API or Adobe SDK for converting PDF files to Excel files?. If yes, can it be called through java code?

If it exists you will find it documented here:  Adobe - Acrobat Developer Center | Adobe Developer Connection

  • Need to batch convert PDF to RTF while maintaining original folder structure

I'm using Acrobat Pro 9 and I need a way to batch convert PDF files to RTF while maintaining the original folder structure.  So for instance, I might get a set of interview transcripts that were conducted with members of 1000 randomly selected households in 3 different cities.  Something like this, where the words in all caps are folder names:
    BOSTON
           HH1001
                PERSON-1A
                        Interview1.pdf
                        Interview2.pdf
                PERSON-2A
                        Interview1.pdf
                        Interview2.pdf
           HH1002
                PERSON-1A
                        Interview1.pdf
                        Interview2.pdf
                PERSON-2A
                        Interview1.pdf
                        Interview2.pdf
                PERSON-1C
                        Interview1.pdf
                        Interview2.pdf
    DETROIT
           HH2001
                PERSON-1A
                        Interview1.pdf
                        Interview2.pdf
                PERSON-2A
                        Interview1.pdf
                        Interview2.pdf
           HH2002
                PERSON-1A
                        Interview1.pdf
                        Interview2.pdf
                PERSON-2A
                        Interview1.pdf
                        Interview2.pdf
                PERSON-1C
                        Interview1.pdf
                        Interview2.pdf
As u can see, the folder structure can get quite complicated and it's important to keep it the same.  Is there any way I can batch convert without having to open all 1000 files at once (which would crash the computer) or without having to add each subfolder to the Export Multiple Files window?
I also tried saving the original folders and files in a portfolio and then converting the portfolio, but that puts all the converted files in a single folder.

    Bernd Alheit wrote:
For the output location choose 'Same Folder as Original(s)'
Yes, I've done that many times.  It doesn't put them in the correct folder structure, it just puts all the new files in the highest-level folder.

  • Convert PDF's to AutoCAD Files

Does anyone know of any software that will convert pdf files to

    Thanks

PDF to DWG converter from AutoDWG.com works for this issue. However, if the PDF was created by scanning a drawing it will not work. Only if the PDF was created directly from an AutoCAD drawing

  • How to convert pdf to rtf format

I am badly facing problem in exporting pdf to rtf please help me.

Look at the doc.saveAs JavaScript method: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.524.html
You can save to other formats when you include the corresponding cConvID parameter. It can be used in a batch sequence, but you'll need the Pro version for that.

  • Converting pdf to excel/word file - will it allow changes made to orginal pdf file?

I just downloaded the new free version of Adobe Reader and it gives you the option of converting a pdf file to an excel or word file.  Does this mean if someone has this option on their Adobe program they can convert the pdf file I sent to them to a word file and modify it? Thanks

No, we cannot password protect a file from Adobe Reader. You would require Adobe Acrobat for that.
Yes, you are right here, there are two types of password protection, a) to open a document: in this user would require the password to open the document even and he cannot view the PDF until he provides the password.
    b) Permision Password: once this is applied he person who receives the pdf file can still open it to view or print but cannot modify the file unless they have the password(Please see the screenshot)
Let me know if tat helps.

  • Convert PDF back to originial file

I created a document in Excel, saved it as  PDF file
and must have deleted the original, now I have to update the originial file.  Is there
a way to convert a PDF file back to its original format?

You will have lost all of the formulas and such. All of that will have to be recreated. All that you would have would be the data that is displayed in each field. If you hold down the shift key, you can copy columns in many cases. Some of the ability to copy depends on whether tags were embedded in the PDF. If not, copying column by column might work best. Otherwise, you might save to a DOC or TXT file and open those in Excel.
You have learned the hard way that you should never delete the original. Going backwards is often difficult.

  • Converting PDF to RTF?

I have a PDF that I need to put into RTF    Conversion is not working   What can I do??

Are you using Acrobat or an Adobe online subscription service?
The subscription services have their own user forums and subscriber support (at the service's site).
If you are using Acrobat XI use this click path:
File :: Save As Other :: More Options :: Rich Text Format

  • Converting PDF to JPEG--tiny file, not full size image.

    using photoshop cs3
End result is I want a jpeg of the same size as original. here is what i do and what happens.
open pdf in photoshop; save as "jpeg"
jpeg shrinks to an inch wide, from an original 8.5 inches.
I've tried saving with compression off, saving pdf in various formats, nothing seems to work and my jpegs always save out very tiny.
any help would be appreciated! thanks.

I opened the file I attached to my mail in Photoshop and that's when it went small. I just looked on Apple forum and found a little button on the bottom right that was compressing the file. I hit "actual size" and have fixed the problem.
It was a Mail problem, (or my problem:) not Photoshop or PDF.
Thanks for your time and response...

  • Convert pdf pages to jpg files

How can I export all pages of a pdf to jpg files? Acrobat sucks because it doesn't anti alias text. In Photoshop I have to first open all pages of a pdf file into seperate image files. Then I have to save as jpg each file one by one. I can't think of a batch action cause it wouldn't know how many pages the pdf is. Indesign fails also: I can make a book file of all the individual indesign files, but it only exports the book file as one pdf. There isnt a save book as jpg files option.
Photoshop is my best option, but is there a way to let it export all pages of a pdf file to separate jpg files?

I can't think of a batch action cause it wouldn't know how many pages the pdf is.
You touch on a relevant matter there; the page-count information can even vary depending on the way a pdf was created.
Still a Script should be able to handle that, if need be by utilizing a try-clause.
So you could ask in the Photoshop Scripting Forum if no one else has a better idea.

  • My JAR file is not working properly!!!

    Hi everyone,
I made an application that has a GUI (window). I converted it into a JAR file so I can send it to a friend by email. Then she can run it to generate the output. First, the user has to select a destination to save the .txt file (using JFileChooser). Then enters the inputs (using JTextFields). Clicks "Run" button (Results will be calculated and copied to the file). A Message will appear indicating that the results are copied. The problem is that when I run the application in the IDE (Eclipse) it works fine. But when I convert it into JAR, The moment I click the "Run" button, suddenly the window closes. Please HELP???
    Thank you

Sorry guys, but i would like to make things clearer, As I mentioned earlier, What i'm doing is the following: 1) Using the Jfilechooser, save the results into a filename.txt file _[main class in the manifest file (class for the GUI) ]._ 2) Click "run" to write the data to the created file in step 1 [_another class is used to write to file_]. I have a feeling that the problem is related to the manifest main class. What do you think guys?I think your description of the problem is very bad. And I think your idea of making wild guesses is a bad way of diagnosing problems.
First of all. A JFileChooser does not save anything. It just allows the user to select a file to be saved to. So if you thought that the first step was writing anything or creating any file, you're probably wrong. But examining the code would help you understand.
Second, if you're having problems because one class chooses the file name and a second class writes data to it, then you're probably running into the basic beginner problem we see around here all the time of how to communicate data between objects. Again, examining the code might help.
Third, you need to understand what is writing that error message. Examining the code would help there too.
So: stop guessing. Look at the code.I'm still New To Java that's why i find difficulty in problems diagnosis. Regarding the JAR problem, as you mentioned, I used JFileChooser to select a file and (copying data) is the other part. So I will look at the code again.
