Convert PDF back to originial file

I created a document in Excel, saved it as  PDF file
and must have deleted the original, now I have to update the originial file.  Is there
a way to convert a PDF file back to its original format?

You will have lost all of the formulas and such. All of that will have to be recreated. All that you would have would be the data that is displayed in each field. If you hold down the shift key, you can copy columns in many cases. Some of the ability to copy depends on whether tags were embedded in the PDF. If not, copying column by column might work best. Otherwise, you might save to a DOC or TXT file and open those in Excel.
You have learned the hard way that you should never delete the original. Going backwards is often difficult.

  • Converting PDF to CCITT Tiff files

    Hello,
I have been given a programming task to convert PDFs into CCITT format Tiff files.
I an new to using Acrobat and have looked at the example code and see the following code.
    JSObj.SaveAs(fullPathTIF, "com.adobe.acrobat.tiff")
This does the conversion fine, but if greyscale or colour PDFs are converted they use a different compression type.
Is there a way to convert the PDFs to black and white before the conversion, or forcing the conversion to the desired compression type?
    thanks
    John

That is correct, because CCITT is only for black & white/monochrome images.
If you wish to convert the PDF to B&W, you can do that as well via other JavaScript APIs (as documented in the SDK).

  • How do I convert pdf back to word?

I converted a pdf to word.  How do I convert that same file back to pdf so that it looks the same as the initial pdf document?  Thanks.

    Hi gcw92591042,
I just checked your subscription details and you are currently subscribed to Adobe Export PDF service that enables you to convert pdf documents into various other formats like .doc, .rtf etc.
However in order to convert such files back into pdf format, you need to subscribe to Adobe PDF Pack(Reliably Create PDFs, Convert PDFs, & Merge PDFs Online | Adobe PDF Pack ).
Alternatively you can use Acrobat software to edit your pdf files without getting into the hassle of converting them into doc format and vice-verse. You can download a free 30 day trial from this Link - Download Acrobat products | Standard, Pro | XI, X
Hope that helps with your query. Please revert back if you have any other questions or need any further assistance.
    Regards,
    Rahul

  • Convert PDF's to AutoCAD Files

Does anyone know of any software that will convert pdf files to
    AutoCAD files?
    Thanks

PDF to DWG converter from AutoDWG.com works for this issue. However, if the PDF was created by scanning a drawing it will not work. Only if the PDF was created directly from an AutoCAD drawing

  • API to convert PDF to RTF;  .jar files

We need to use java API to convert PDF file to RTF format.
I'm trying to use java example at:
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/livecycle/8.2/programLC/programmer/help/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/ht ml/wwhelp.htm?context=sdkHelp&f
    ile=000452.html
    I have 2 questions:
    1. I can't find .jar files for that example:
    adobe-generatepdf-client.jar
    adobe-livecycle-client.jar
    adobe-usermanager-client.jar
    adobe-utilities.jar
    jbossall-client.jar
Any version of Livecycle I download do not have such files
What I should download to get those files?
    2. Could I do conversion having Tomcat only, without JBoss or WebLogic?
    Thanks,
    Mikhail

    1. They should be under C:\Adobe\Adobe LiveCycle ES2\LiveCycle_ES_SDK\client-libs\common. This is the LiveCycle SDK.
    2. No can't do the conversion with TomCat only. You need an application server (JBoss, WebSphere, WebLogic).

  • Converting pdf back into Word

How do I convert the Word document I just converted into a pdf format BACK into a Word document to make edits?!?!?!?   I'm using version X.  After OVER one hour with the Adobe Chat technical team, their solution was to contact this forum.  ?!?!?!   Note:  going to File and Save As is not an option, as the drop down options only give me the pdf option.

Why don't you have the original document if you just coverted it from Word. It is never a good idea to get rid of the original documents. You can try copy and paste as an option. If you own Acrobat you could export to pdf. If you don't own Acrobat you could either download a free trial or purchase the Export to PDF service.

  • Converting pdf to excel/word file - will it allow changes made to orginal pdf file?

I just downloaded the new free version of Adobe Reader and it gives you the option of converting a pdf file to an excel or word file.  Does this mean if someone has this option on their Adobe program they can convert the pdf file I sent to them to a word file and modify it? Thanks

No, we cannot password protect a file from Adobe Reader. You would require Adobe Acrobat for that.
Yes, you are right here, there are two types of password protection, a) to open a document: in this user would require the password to open the document even and he cannot view the PDF until he provides the password.
    b) Permision Password: once this is applied he person who receives the pdf file can still open it to view or print but cannot modify the file unless they have the password(Please see the screenshot)
Let me know if tat helps.

  • Converting PDF to JPEG--tiny file, not full size image.

    using photoshop cs3
End result is I want a jpeg of the same size as original. here is what i do and what happens.
open pdf in photoshop; save as "jpeg"
jpeg shrinks to an inch wide, from an original 8.5 inches.
I've tried saving with compression off, saving pdf in various formats, nothing seems to work and my jpegs always save out very tiny.
any help would be appreciated! thanks.

I opened the file I attached to my mail in Photoshop and that's when it went small. I just looked on Apple forum and found a little button on the bottom right that was compressing the file. I hit "actual size" and have fixed the problem.
It was a Mail problem, (or my problem:) not Photoshop or PDF.
Thanks for your time and response...

  • Convert pdf pages to jpg files

How can I export all pages of a pdf to jpg files? Acrobat sucks because it doesn't anti alias text. In Photoshop I have to first open all pages of a pdf file into seperate image files. Then I have to save as jpg each file one by one. I can't think of a batch action cause it wouldn't know how many pages the pdf is. Indesign fails also: I can make a book file of all the individual indesign files, but it only exports the book file as one pdf. There isnt a save book as jpg files option.
Photoshop is my best option, but is there a way to let it export all pages of a pdf file to separate jpg files?

I can't think of a batch action cause it wouldn't know how many pages the pdf is.
You touch on a relevant matter there; the page-count information can even vary depending on the way a pdf was created.
Still a Script should be able to handle that, if need be by utilizing a try-clause.
So you could ask in the Photoshop Scripting Forum if no one else has a better idea.
