App Store for Snow Leopard

I want to upgrade my MacBook to OS Mountain Lion but do not have access to the App Store file.  What should I do?

Phone the Apple Store and order a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD.

Try Amazon but look for the iWork suite of software. It's only sold separately as Pages, Keynote, and Numbers from the App Store.

  • App Store upgrade Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion: unable to accept Terms & Conditions

I was trying to upgrade a Mac from Snow Leopard 10.6.8 (latest) to Mountain Lion via the App Store. When I click "Buy" it pops down an alert reading:
The iTunes Terms & Conditions have changed. To Proceed, you must read and accept the new terms and conditions.
So far, so good.. I click "OK" and it brings up the Terms & Conditions document. I check the box "I have read and agree…" and click the Agree button. This sends me right back to the ML purchase page, with the same alert described above popped down again.
I have only gone through this loop for 3 or 4 cycles, but I assume it is infinite.
Anyone experienced or heard about this issue, or how to address it?

  • Why can't i access the app store with snow leopard

I just installed Snow Leopard on my girlfriend's Macbook 5,1 in hopes of updating it to Mountain Lion. I'm unable to use her Apple ID, nor mine, to access the App Store to upgrade. I've scowered search engines to find a fix, but to no avail. Anybody have any ideas as to how to resolve this issue?

    Hello:
I do not know what you have tried, but try this:

  • Aperture 3.3 for Lion, but... how to install 3.2.4 for Snow Leopard?

New version Aperture (3.3) is not available on Snow Leopard (only Lion). Ok... but how to buy/reinstall Aperture 3.2.4 on my Mac of Snow Leopard?

You still  might be able to buy a boxed version of Aperture 3 at a local Apple store, but that will be much more expensive than the download from the App Store.
Since you cannot upgrade your machine to Lion, I'd stick with iPhoto, until you will invest into a new computer.  iPhoto libraries now can be opened by Aperture, so any work you invest into an iPhoto library will not be lost, once you transit.
No, I dont' want iPhoto. I need Aperture 3. It was available in the Mac App Store for Snow Leopard for a good price. At this moment I feel just cheated. Many people have a problem now - they have bought and can not update / reinstall. I can not buy. It should not be so. I'm sorry for my english.

  • I've paid $ 3,99 for Xcode for Snow Leopard. Now there is a new Xcode for Lion, so I downloaded the new one but the installed continued to be the old one. Now App Store says "Installed" and don't allow me to re-download Xcode. How can I proceed?

I've paid $ 3,99 for Xcode for Snow Leopard 12 days ago. After installing Lion I saw there is a new FREE Xcode for it, so I downloaded the new one but after installing automatically Xcode for Lion the Developer folder contained the old one. I deleted the old Xcode but the App Store says "Installed" and don't allow me re-download Xcode.
How can I proceed? I'm guessing whether this problem will occur each time I buy an application from App Store.

Yes, that's righ, Xcode installer was in the Apps folder. I assumed it had been automatically installed and the installer deleted after installation (the same way as Lion is installed).
I tried also the procedure for redownloding applications, and MAS showed both Xcodes (Lion and Snow Leopard) and OS X Lion. We see that buttons for Lion and Xcode for Snow Leopard say 'Install' but Xcode for Lion says 'installed' because there is an Install Scode in the Apps folder.
    Thank you.

  • Why cant i re-download xcode 4 for snow leopard from the mac app store?

i reformatted my mac's hd and didnt back up applications that i bought from the mac appstore cause its easy to re-download, so im trying to re-download and instal xcode for snow leopard the one that you purchase for 5 dollars

Been trying about 2 weeks now to get the xcode 4 for snow leopard that I purchased for $5 installed on my new macbook pro but I get the same error.  After several frustrating calls and emails the final verdict from Apple was either contact the developer and get a copy (uh Apple right?) or you just can't install it since they've removed it from the App Store. They said just upgrade to Lion but I can't upgrade to Lion on my work machine since well Lion brings down our NAS.  So I'm totally hosed on this one.  Apple should not force us to move to Lion.  That's not right.
There isn't a version of Xcode on this machine so there shouldn't be any conflicts.  I REALLY need Xcode 4 installed and this is really frustrating because I already paid for the thing.

  • What app replaces MacJanitor for Snow Leopard

I need an app to replace MacJanitor for Snow Leopard, and Lion. Any suggestions???

Not really needed and I don't know of anything. Snow Leopard runs the periodic scripts at wake up if the computer has been sleeping. But you can rotate the system.log manually. This doesn't get run if the computer has been asleep (I think it's midnight.) See the command and instructions in my post in this nearby thread.

  • Is there a autosave app for snow leopard kinda like the autosave for lion?

Is there a autosave app for snow leopard kinda like the autosave for lion? Since I do alot of illustrator and photoshop design I would love to have this feature.

None that I've seen. It would do no good to upgrade your OS to Lion either since Adobe has opted to ignore Apple's Autosave/Versions function. Even in the CS6 apps. In order for any app to work with Autosave/Version in Lion, it has to be written to use those functions. It isn't just "there" all the time for all apps.

If it has been deleted, installing the latest combo update should restore it.

  • HT4163 Need iPhoto 9.0 for Snow Leopard 10.6.8

I have an old macbook running 10.6.8.  I want iPhoto version 9 ('11), but all I can find in the app store is version 9.3, which only runs on Lion.  I want iPhoto for Snow Leopard.  I can see no reason why Apple has forsaken Snow Leopard. There is no reason why the App store can't have version 9.0 so both Lion and Snow Leopard users can buy it and update it to suit individual needs.  Does anyone know how to get version 9.0 for Snow Leopard online?

Just a follow-up.  I did purchase iLife '09 on eBay and it works smoothly. A few hiccups. I mistakenly did an "upgrade install" of OS X, twice.  "Upgrade installs" take a long, long time to do, and in the end, just don't work.  It turned out that the utilities menu that I needed to access in order to reformat and do a "clean install' was pushed right off the screen where I could not see it, due to a faulty video driver matchup on the install disk.  The result was that I wasn't sure what kind of install I was doing.
So, now I have a mini-Mac that works just like it used to, but really with no perceptible advantage to what I had before, just a few bucks lighter, and many hours of effort.  The good news is that my older mini-Mac (read the Apple fine print carefully on which Intel processors do and don't work) will run Snow Leopard, albeit a little slower than Tiger.  Hopefully, Apple technology and the various software upgrades required to browse the Internet will stay compatible with Snow Leopard for a while yet.  But the Apple mini-Mac takes the cake for the poorest backward compatibility I've run across since I began with computers in the late 1960s.

  • USB3 adapters or thunderbolt docks for Snow Leopard?

I have an early 2011 MacBook Pro, 15" with USB2 and Thunderbolt. Any way I can add USB3 working in Snow Leopard? The thunderbolt docks require Mountain Lion 10.8 and rely on Apple USB 3 drivers that do not exist in Snow Leopard. Also I have no express card slot so I can't use Express card based adapters.
    Thanks

No. Upgrade and buy the CalDigit device if your computer has Thunderbolt.
    Upgrading to Mavericks
You can upgrade to Mavericks from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mavericks can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for FREE.
    Upgrading to Mavericks
To upgrade to Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Download Mavericks from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mavericks is free. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.

  • Bought iMovie '11 for a Mountain Lion iMac and want iMovie '11 for snow Leopard MacBook but it won't download for Macbook?

    Hello:
I have an iMac that I recently upgraded to Mountain Lion.  I bought iMovie '11 after upgrading to Mountain Lion.  I also have a MacBook Pro but don't want to upgrade to Mountian Lion 'cause I don't want to loose Front Row.  So I tried to buy and install iMovie from the App Store on the MacBook Pro (Snow Leopard) but when I try to buy it it says that I can't buy it or run on on Snow Leopard it must be on Mountain Lion?  Is there any way to get the down version of iMovie '11 for Snow Leopard from the App Store?  I already paid for this version online.
    Thanks,
    mn3

My guess is that you are out of luck. The latest requirements for iMovie '11, as listed on the App Store, are "OS X 10.7.4 or later". In other words, iMovie '11 (in it's latest iteration) will work only on Lion or Mountain Lion (or later).
My wife's iMac is on Snow Leopard OS X 10.6.8 and is running iMovie '11 version 9.0.4. Checking for updates returns the message that iMovie is up to date. So it appears that the last version to run on Snow Leopard is 9.0.4 - hence why you can't download 9.0.8 to Snow Leopard from the App Store. Perhaps you can purchase a boxed version of iLife '11 somewhere (possibly eBay) that has an earlier version of iMovie '11.

  • Pages for Snow Leopard v10.6.8

Where can I download Pages for Snow Leopard v10.6.8?  I was about to download it from the App Store but then realised that Pages '09 v4.2 requires OS X v10.7.4 or later.
    Thanks.

Nowhere. You need to either purchase the DVD version or upgrade the computer's OS if possible.
