Apple Care transfer to replacement iPad

I was wondering if someone could help me with this question?
I recieved the iPad 3. This had a screen issue so I contacted Apple, and chose the Express Product Replacment. The advisor told me it carries a £29 fee but if I decided to take out the Apple Care package, then it would be free. I decided to pay the £69 for the Apple Care Plan.
Now on the Apple Care Protection Plan Certificate email that I received it shows the serial number for the faulty iPad that I returned. I was wondering, will I need to contact Apple to get the serial number altered to the serial number for the replacement iPad?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks both. I'll wait till the paper work comes for the Apple Care (I think the agent told me I should receive it in around 5 days) and then I'll contact them to update the details. Thanks again its much appreciated

  • Apple care transfer from person to person

I'm thinking of buying a MacBook Pro form another person, the MacBook has 3 years of Apple Care, does the Apple Care transfer over to me?
Also is a cracked TrackPad (Working) Covered?
    Need a reply ASAP

Jack I notice you are in UK.  Me too and I just bought a lovely MacBook Pro from eBay but a couple of weeks or so ago I had an unpleasant eBay transaction when I tried to buy a MacBook Pro from a person claiming to live in Scotland, near Glasgow.
The only reason I mention it is that it too was boasting 3yrs Apple Care which is slightly unusual in a secon-hand machine because Apple Care has decent resale value in itself.  It was a late 2011 Macbook Pro.  The seller refused to send the item even though I'd paid for it.  They listed Paypal as an acceptable form of payment but in fact they were not registered and kept insisting that I pay by bank transfer instead.  This breached eBays policy and I was becoming suspicious.
After a couple of days of eBay emails to the seller where I suggested we could find some sort of work around I cancelled the eBay payment. I left a feedback comment on the sellers rating card with a message that read: "In this transaction the seller lacked integrity. Full email thread on request".  He then left a wholly very personal, unjustified, mean and nasty message on my ratings page so I reported the incident to eBay.
A couple of days later I received an eBay email from an eBayer that I'd never heard of saying he'd seen my ratings feedback message and that he was about to buy the MBP from the same guy but that he'd become suspicious because he was trying to get him to pay by bank transfer even though he'd claimed in his listing that he accepted Paypal.  The new buyer eventually withdrew his offer and also reported the seller to eBay.
The following week I received an priority email from eBay saying I should not pay this seller under any circumstances. A few hours later I checked and discovered that he was no longer a registered eBayer so I think he must have been banned or suspended. This story sounds like it ended well doesn't it? Read on...
Perhaps a week after receiving the priority email I received an eBay email from yet another eBayer that I didn't know, asking me about the same seller, based on my feedback comment on his feedback page.  On this occasion the poor buyer had paid directly into the seller's bank account a week earlier, persumably just before he was banned or suspended, but hadn't received the MacBook Pro and was getting worried because he could no longer contact the seller all his calls and messages remained unanswered.
I don't mean to cast aspersions on the seller in your case but my story is a salutary lesson that there are unscruplous people out there. dealing in second-hand Macs (or possibly non-existent Macs and and we need to be careful. If your proposed purchase is Kosher best of luck with your new MacBook Pro. if, however, any of this does in fact sound reminiscent of your situation and you would like to contact me securely and in private you can do so through my eBay email, user name Audiodromuk.

  • I purchased the ipad and apple care but only the ipad arrived

help i purchased ipad and the apple care but only the ipad arrived.
is apple care already on the computer.

You should have received an email from Apple with the receipts for the iPad and your AppleCare. AppleCare is not on your iPad... if you have a problem with your iPad that you cannot repair yourself, then you would contact AppleCare for help.

  • Does Apple Care cover battery replacements?

My battery has been having problems, like not holding charge as long as it used to and the battery percentage sometimes freezes. I asked about it before and I was told the battery in my Macbook Pro only goes up to 1000 cycles and I'm at 937, so my battery is seeing its end soon.  I've had this macbook since January 2013. I have been reading the Apple Care information and I can't find where exactly it addresses this issue. Does Apple Care cover battery replacements for cycle counts like this?
PS. I'm learning more that Apple Care doesn't really cover anything. The more I read, the more I feel like I wasted my $250 on it to be honest. I don't see anything Apple Care truly covers unless it's a problem when you first get your laptop that manufacturers did. I'll probably will be moving back to Microsoft after this Macbook goes. Half the price and longer lasting without any protection/insurance.

Since the battery is beyond one year of use, it's doubtful Apple Care will replace the battery for free.
The best way to find out for certain is to contact Apple Care >  Apple - Support - AppleCare

  • How long does it take for Apple to ship a replacement iPad 2?

I'd ordered an iPad 2 on the 27th of April and recieved it this last Friday (May 13th). It'd shipped two days ahead of it's scheduled date on the 11th but recieved when it was supposed to.
Immediately after recieving my iPad 2, I'd noticed small pits and chips in the aluminum along with a scratch on the side along with some issues with the backlight. I called Apple the same morning and they promised me a replacement and I was to be put on a priority list for a replacement. I got an RMA # and eventually got shipping labels. The updated order said it'd ship by the 27th and be recieved by June 3rd. The representative promised me it would ship well before then and that the shipping would be overnighted and wouldn't be the two week wait again. I even said I didn't want to have to go through all that again after receiving a dud product.
I was offered an accessory which came yesterday.
I called today to get an update on my order since they received the iPad 2 yesterday on the 16th. The representative wouldn't confirm anything other than it looked like a standard order and it would ship by the 27th without overnight shipping. She wasn't incredibly helpful with the situation nor did she really reaffirm anything about getting a replacement to my doorstep sooner than the entire new two week wait of ordering a new one. When I mentioned a priority list, it didn't seem any different to her than a normal web order (like when I originally placed my order on the 27th of April).
I had something like this happen to me last year and I got a new iPad in two days flat.
    Help?

Call back and ask to have your call expedited to Customer Relations. They are authorized to make things happen that the entry level agents cannot. Be calm and polite because they really want to help you.
Be sure to mention the promises that the first agent made regarding the promptness of being on a priority list with overnight shipping and that the most recent agent sees none of that differentiating the order from a standard order. Calmly explain your disappointment.
I had an issue when I called an Apple Store and asked about upgrading the RAM in my Mac. The store clerk told be that 3rd party RAM installed by an Apple certified tech by an Apple certified service provider, would void my extended warranty. The font line Apple Care agent told me the same thing. I asked to speak with Customer Relations and was told both the other Apple employees were wrong and he sent me a coupon for up to US$100 off any Apple Product of US$300 or more. I used it for my iPad 2 and got a 64 GB model for the price of the 32 GB model!

  • Apple care transfer to new owner.

I Have just bought a secondhand mac air which is still under warrantee. The previous owner also bought apple care using the student discount. Can I upgrade this to normal apple care, if not can I still buy normal apple care?

Is the AppleCare Protection Plan or AppleCare+ transferable?
Yes. If you choose to sell or give away your Apple product, you can also transfer the ownership of the AppleCare Protection Plan or AppleCare+. Please see the Terms and Conditions for complete details.

  • Apple Care Transfer

    Good Evening,
I currently own an iPhone 3GS in which I will be selling it tomorrow and I'm including the Apple Care I bought with it. I read online that to do a transfer, I'd need to fax in a few things to the US Apple office, such as proof of purchase of plan, the serial #, the contact info of the new owner, etc.
Is there any other method such as emailing or calling them up on the phone and doing this? Or do I need to fax it? How long does this process take, as I don't want it to take long after I sell my iPhone 3GS.
    Thanks

  • Apple Care Transfer To New Macbook

    Hi,
I was forced to purchase a new macbook due to water damage. At the time that I purchased the new one my Apple Care was still good for my old one so I asked if I could transfer the account and of course they told me I had to call in. So a few months have gone by and I let it slip my mind until now the keyboard casing is cracking on my macbook (mind you this happened to my old macbook before the water damage AND happened to a friend. All three times in the same EXACT place). Anyway, now to transfer the Apple Care to my new macbook I have to send an e-mail or fax and provide "the Plan Agreement Number, the serial numbers of the Covered Equipment being transferred, proof of purchase of the Plan, and the number and email address of the new owner." The problem is I don't know the serial number for the old macbook nor can I find the receipt from my in store purchase of the new macbook (I know, I know I probably sound like a total idiot but for whatever reasons I lost it). Any idea how I can possibly get around this or am I screwed? I really need to get the cracks fixed because it doesn't stop cracking it just keeps getting bigger and I am scared it will affect my machine soon.

You can not transfer the AppleCare plan from your previous MacBook to your new MacBook. You will need to purchase a new plan.
The AppleCare plan that you had on your old MacBook CAN be transferred to the new owner of the old MacBook though. You need to contact Apple for that.

  • Can you transfer Apple Care from one device to another?

I bought a new iPod touch for my daughter on July 7th and it was stolen two days ago. If our insurance covers it - can I transfer the Apple Care to the replacement or will I have to buy a new Apple Care?
    Thanks!!

you shouldn't have to transfer the Apple Care because it is an insurance on the iPod
    No, it is not insurance.
and since it will cover stolen iPods
It does not cover replacement of a stolen iPod.
if should be transfered automatically because, also in theory, it is the same iPod.
There's no "theory" to it at all. It is the same iPod.
AppleCare is purchased for a specific iPod. The AppleCare stays with that iPod.

  • Apple Care replaced my dead, out-out-of-warranty Airport Express

Today, I became one of the hundreds (thousands??) of Airport Express users whose AE died just a few months out of warranty. I faithfully purchase Apple Care (3-year extended warranty) from Apple for every Mac I buy.
A few years ago, my graphite Airport died, and the Apple Care rep gladly replaced it due to my active Apple Care contract at that time. Today, I thought I would receive the same courtesy, thanks again to my TWO active Apple Care contracts that were in place well before I purchased the AE.
My initial Apple Care rep denied my request for a replacement AE, because, he argued, the AE was not purchased at the same time with a Mac. I explained to him the graphite Airport story above, and he dug his heels in deeper. I insisted that he send me up the food chain to a superviser, and after 4-5 min on the phone, the supervisor came on, apologized for his tech's mis-interpretation of policy, and authorized the replacement on the spot. He told me that his techs would have this clearly explained to them for future Apple Care contract holders who call up with a dead AE.
Extra info...I live near an Apple Store, and asked if I may go there and pick up the replacement. He said the decision would be up to the store management--if they had stock, etc. I said I wanted to take my chances and go up there, so he instantly made me an appointment with the genius bar within the hour. This Apple Care supervisor was a real pro. He made it clear that Apple Care covers an AE even if the AE is not purchased with a Mac. He also told me he would make a special request within my case report to the store for a stock unit. Bam! I walked in and got hooked up! Apple does take care of its customer (who might need to be a bit more persistant than need be at times) after all.
Good luck should you find yourself in the same boat I was in...By the way, I am posting this via my replacement AE on the same day, and I would swear it produces faster internet speed than the fried one!

    Hi, Steve
that's one of the good points of the forum here: having a lot of trouble the past few weeks with my iMac, and now also with a brandnew minimac, I get back full with hope by reading your post here.
no, i'm not sarcastic. I think you tell us that we can get treated correctly if we insist to be treated correctly. and that is a a helpful advice.

  • Difference between Apple Care Protection Plan?

    Hello,
are there differences between the Apple Care Protection Plan for iPad with the id MC593D/A and MC593ZM/B? Is a replace device from Apple badder as a new device from a store?
    Greetings from Germany,
    appbazi

Looking around, it looks like the MC593D/A is the one for Germany and the MC593ZM/B is the one for UK. I have seen different offers for Applecare in many different places and would recommend that you buy the one for your country, I guess in this case it is Germany. I know that Applecare prices in different locations are different but I think that this is one case where you should buy the one that you absolutely know to be correct and that comes from a legitimate dealer/reseller.
I hope that this is of some help.
