Apple rejected new free subscription DPS app

I used a simple way to setup the In-App purchase, added only "free subscription" entry.
When publish, all issues set as Public-Free.
When I submit latest build, R27, Apple reject the new binary, message below.
Anyone can tell me what is the best practices to setup a free subscription DPS app appear on NewsStand ?

Message from App review after rebuild and re-submit,
We found that your app has an associated free subscription, however, it does not include a mechanism for the user to sign up for the free subscription.
It is required to revise the app to include the mechanism to allow user to sign up for the free subscription.
BTW, this app approved with free subscription and online, what we do is update the app to version R27.

I had the same rejection the first time. After looking online at Adobe I thought it was a billing issue, so managed to get that rectifed. I hadnt used a shared secret (as it hadnt shown up because, I thought, the billing wasnt setup correctly). After we corrected the billing, I had access to the shared secret which I have used.
Any ideas what else this could be?
The app is a magazine app which is for free subscription. That's the inapp purchase. No folio in app purchases, because they are free. Sent with the first version on the magazine published, although Apple coulnt have got to it as the subscription time's out.
Help! Because this is the second rejection, it's two weeks on and I am getting close to an event which I must have the app live for.

Hi Neil,
I used the guide to make the issue — so I think everything is in place.
The first time around our billing wasn't setup so I didn't get to generate a shared secret. The second time I did.
I generated the secret — which I can view under the in app purchase for the (free) subscription in manage in-app purchases. That code I pasted into the admin account iTunes Connect Shared Secret panel for the same customer ID (Account ID). I opened the Folio Producer Organiser afterward — how do you know it registers the code? I didn't see anything to indicate such.
One thing — not sure if it's relevant — whenever the app fails it highlights in yellow the languages in the in-app purchase. I selected more languages this time to cover all the different kinds of English. Again, not sure if that's relevant?
Plus when I click the link to view the app in the app store it says it’s not in the UK store and tries to switch to the US, which if you allow it then says it can’t find. I think this is because it’s not approved and the link will be good when that happens (hence I copied that into the section just below the shared secret on the DPS account admin panel).
Honestly, I am a wee bit stumped now.

Reject new version while current app is ready for sale

A simple question, i have an app on the store which is ready for sale and everything seems to be fine. However i had a long process for this app to be approved over severel rounds of rejection, but now it is approved.
The situation is that, i assume i can upload a new version on the same app as upload new version accordingly to the Apple description, now suppose this new version get rejected somehow, would this effect on the "live current" app?
If not then i also assume i can upload this new version and set the the release to be manual?
please let me know your Advice/tips and trick

A new version of an app that is rejected has no effect on a currently live app.
The new version only goes into the store if it's approved.
The old version may be available still if you decide to make it available.

You have two options:
One get the OE creation script from some other Oracle install and install them on the XE database.

Or just use HR tables instead - most of the tutorials simply use a master details relationship - so in OE it is usually the customer who has order - and you can adopt it to the HR schema using the departments that has employees.
Don't know about the XE license, you might want to ask this on the XE forum.

Why is my new download of DPS App Builder still coming up with the notification that I still need to update to the latest release when I already have??!!!

Is anyone else experiencing the same problem?

There is no "release 32" of DPS going out today, and there are no updates to the InDesign panels. We are pushing out a minor update to release 31 with some new features in the Android and Windows viewers and some minor bug fixes elsewhere.

Free Subscription App with free issues equals empty Viewer?

Starting to sandbox our Newsstand issue, but the issue is not showing up in the viewer?
Professional DPS Account with Admin/production and development access using CS6
Here are my steps:
Created a preview issue (folio #1)
This is Free and Public
Created App using DPS App Builder
App type is Multi Folio with iTunes Subscription
Free Subscription
Created App ID in iTunes Connect
In-App Purchase is set to Free Subscription
Enabled Newssstand
Added a new Issue in iTunes Connect under the Manage Newsstand button
Pointed iTunes Connect to this new issue AD (folio #2)
Assigned the correct Certificates and Mobile Provisionings
Back into the DPS App Builder to generate .ipa file
downloaded .ipa file and sandbox on test user iPad
I see the subscription tiles in my Viewer
Click on Subscription tile
Empty Viewer

I'm not quite following. I have the app created and ready in iTunes Connect--it is a "multi-folio with iTunes subscription" and is enabled for Newsstand. The free subscription product ID in App Builder matches the Apple ID in iTunes Connect.
We wish to launch the app with an older issue (folio) and we'll publish the current issue in the coming days. All of the issues that will be available in this app will be free. And we would obviously like the users to be notified when a new issue is available.
Do I not need an in-app purchase for this older issue--the one that will be available immediately? As I have it now, in iTunes Connect, I click on the "manage in-app purchases" and I have this first, older issue that is ready to submit. And in the "manage newsstand" section I don't have any issues.
Is this correct?

Checked with bank and there's no issue, billing address is correct etc, but Apple rejects the purchase within an App. Help?

Any benefit to free subscriptions outside of Newsstand?

Situation: We have a client who will publish free folios to a free multi-viewer app. The client wants the app to live outside of Newsstand.
What we know: Free folios show up in the app as soon as they're published. But, Apple offers the ability to configure free subscriptions.
Our question: What's the benefit in configuring free subscription for non-Newsstand apps? Or, does Apple simply require free subscriptions for free-folio/free-multi-issue apps to live in Newsstand?

Apple created the Free Subscriptions option specifically to enable apps with free content to work in Newsstand. I see no benefit in setting up free subscriptions outside of Newsstand, and I don't even know if it's possible.

Apple Rejected my folio when they review..

apple say the "When we opened the app, the library was empty. There was no content available to subscribe to, view, or download."

If your app is enabled for newsstand? If yes, did you add the free subscription in-app purchase? Did you type the same product id of free subscription in viewer builder also in iTunes connect?
Is the folio status in public/free in dashboard? Additionally, make sure the product id's of all folios on the dashboard are unique and follows the reverse domain naming convention (e.g com.domain.appname.folioname)
Let me explain the logic behind product id's.
Say I'm a publisher(ABC) and I pushed a folio with product ID = myfirstapp
Another publisher(XYZ) also pushed another folio with the same product ID = myfirstapp
Now, when the app is launched, the app queries and look into the server for the folio. But it confuses the app because the app see two folio with the same product id. Therefore, the app will be unable to display the folio, or may display other publishers folio, or may appear and dissapper.
Therefore, every folio product ID is unique and advised to follow reverse domain naming convention because all domain are also unique.

Wrong link to latest version of DPS App Builder?

My installed DPS App Builder is in version 3.1.0 but still I have a message that the version have expired. Have tried to upgrade to latest version from the link, bouth in the login window in DPS builder and from Folio Producer but they are in the same version 3.1.0.
The links have not been changed since this monday.
I´m not able to upgrade or use my DPS App Builder.
I´s not the first time the link to a new version in DPS App Builder have been wrong, but then it was correct in Folio Producer.
Anyone who know to find the correct version?

Try downloading any NEW free or paid app from the App Store. This will refresh the system and hopefully your other apps will work, too.

Adobe DPS App rejected by Apple

An app I created for a client just got rejected by Apple.
The reason given was:
"We were unable to complete your review because we could not install your app on a device.
The UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities key in the Info.plist is set in such a way that the app will not install on an iPad.
Please ensure that the app's UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities key configuration is correct. Attributes should only be placed in the UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities key if the attribute is either required for the function of the application or if it must not be present on the device. "
How am I supposed to change the UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities key configuration?
I thought that the Viewer Builder did that for you. I used V21, as the instructions said to use the most recent version. Could that be the issue?
The app, which is a simple catalogue, ran fine during testing.
What do I need to modify for them to be able to install the app on an iPad?

Yes. I did and it worked perfectly.
I thought about just re-generating the packet and rolling back the version of the builder to V20 instead of V21, and seeing if that does it, but our client is in quite a hurry to publish this catalogue, and would prefer to not have to waste time waiting for an approval, without really knowing what the problem is.

Unless I misunderstand the question, you can't do what you're asking to do. Apple doesn't allow you to bypass their store and host public apps on a website. The exception is an enterprise app, which requires an Enterprise account with both Apple and Adobe. This type of enterprise app can be distributed only within the company. If that's what you want to do, you can learn more here:

Another option is to add the development app to several devices and use those for your demo.

You need to ask Apple for assistance with getting back into your old ID. To do this, click here and pick a method; if that page doesn't list one for your country or you're unable to resolve this issue through the Account Security team, fill out and submit this form.
