Apple's Adapter Replacement Program

Hello,
Im having trouble with my charger works sometimes and sometimes does not. I saw this article about Apple's Adapter Replacement Program (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4127).
I have an L type charger and bought my MBP in 2010. Am I eligible for this replacement?
Thanks

It's pretty clear here:
Resolution
Whether your product is in or out of warranty, you can take your adapter to an Apple Authorized Service Provider or Apple Retail Store for evaluation and replacement if necessary. Pending the results of evaluation, you may or may not be eligible for a replacement adapter free of charge. Signs of accidental damage would negate any coverage. Be sure to bring in the computer used with the adapter; it is required to process potential adapter replacements.

Apple Retail Store. Set up an appointment with a Genius.
For information about the cash payment for replacement adapters referred to in the notice, go to www.AdapterSettlement.com or call 1-888-332-0277.  You will be provided with a detailed notice and claim form package that contains everything you need.

  • Apple's power adapter replacement program - U.S. only

    Hello,
    I have a macbook air.
Its power adapter has a L-shape, but I have the same problem because of strain relief.
I found that Apple's power adapter replacement program page on web, About Apple's Power Adapter Replacement Program -- U.S. only.
I think that the T-shape photo on web is just an example showing what strain relief.
When I visit the apple retail store and ask the program, they answered me that program is only available for T-shape power adapter.
is it correct? do I need to buy additional power adapter for my air?
    Thank you,

    Yes, that is correct.

  • Beware apple store iPhone replacement program

Beware apple store iPhone replacement program:
We took my daughters broken iphone 4 into an apple store and was told that the damage was not covered under warrany but for only £120 we could get a replacement iphone 4
the problem being when they helped her set  up the replacement Iphone 4 they installed os7 as the opperating system rendering the phone useless as it now runs slow, freezes & cannot use messaging at all etc
we went back to the store hoping they could HELP  &  were told that the iphone should not have these problems & to do a full restore; as it turns out the processing chip cant handle os7 which becomes Very apparent & now the store staff are suggesting that they will upgrade the phone to something newer & give us a £60 discout towards a new phone for something we paid them £120 48hr earlier.
Its not the Apple experience we have all come to love can anyone suggest how we might restore the phone to an earlier opperating system

That's nonsense. I have 2 iPhone fours and both work just fine with iOS 7. As mentioned take ti back.

  • Apple iPod Battery Replacement Program Experiences.

Hello, as you all know apple offers the battery replacement program for 99 dollars (now sixty something dollars). For any of you that have tried it, can you please tell us all a little about how was your experience? did you get a better ipod or a worse one? a refurbished, used or new? scratched or perfect?
please leave a comment on how your experience was with Apple's battery replacement program even if it is a very small one.

I just received my refurbished iPod back yesterday. It looked like new! The engraving was on the back, just like the unit I sent in.
However, the reason I am on the forums today is that when I plugged it in to charge the new battery before synching, I received the familiar "battery with exclamation point" screen. So now I seem to have a clean, new or refurbished unit with the same old problem. Frustrating to say the least.

  • Ipod nano 2nd gen, 5 years old, has short battery life. Can the battery be replaced? If not, does apple have a replacement program? how much?

    Details:
5 year old 2nd Gen Ipod nano only works for an hour the most. Battery may be approaching end of life.
Can this still be replaced? if not, what are my options? Does apple have a replacement program?

Just would like to share with you, my experience with a friend's Nano with a smiliar problem
The battery level could be too low to boot up the OS of the iPod, which even may corrupted (if you see a folder icon).
The best way to fix it, is to connect it with different device other than your PC as it is likely not get charge at all, e.g.
    1. car charger
    2. ac charger
    3. ipod speaker dock system
    4. using firewire cable
    5. with a Mac computer
The key is to charge the battery level up to the minimum for you to put your Nano into disk mode
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93651
once you see the "tick" mark, connect it with a computer, and try to do a Restore for your iPod. In case you still do not manage to get your iPod to be recognized by a PC, I am afraid you have to connect it with a Mac, very likely it will allow you to do a Restore as I did last night

  • Apple iPod Nano replacement program - question

    Hello, Apple community,
I have a question about the new replacement program of the iPod nano 1st gen.
The program doesn't state whether or not you get a refund or a new iPod nano (the small squared once with touch screen).
The program says that you'll get a replacement iPod Nano, but isn't very specific if it is the new generation.
I apologise for any spelling mistakes and such.
    Thank you for any answer,

    Hi lindsayfromspencerport,
I can say it is not a scam - Apple is definitely replacing the iPods.  Once I read the article and went to apple.com, that proved it.  Apple.com would never risk another class action lawsuit over this iPod.
My First Generation iPod was given to me at work for being the winner of a give-away drawing and about a year or so ago it overheated and erased all the info on the iPod.  Now it will only charge and drain the battery.  It no longer allows me to store any thing on it.
I am glad that Apple is doing this exchange.  I thought I was just out of luck and was glad I had not paid full price for it.  I love my Nano and used it constantly!!!
Just send your's in using the box and label they send you and give them 6 weeks like the apple.com website says, Apple will make good on their product.  Millions of people don't stand in line and wait weeks/months for their new products to arrive for no reason, trust me.  Oh, by the way, I know this for sure.....I work for a wireless phone service that has been dealing with Apple for Yearsssssssssssss.....and every year the same thing.  People will give anything to get a product with that apple on it.

  • MagSafe adapter replacement program in Thailand?

    Hi,
2 Hours ago I heard spark/ticking sound from the macsafe.
Instantly I unpluged it (a panic here) and then I saw the cord where it connected with the adapter has been torn and broken.
To confirm my bad luck, I plugged the power in again this time my runnig MBP shut it self down (more panic here). Many times, over 2 years my MBP has been foced to shutdown but this time it finally got me to think it might not start up again juding from PC experience usually when PSU went wrong the mother board also gone with it. Luckly I still can start it up but the date/time was reset to 2008. I searh for the magsafe failure and found a class action in 2009 for a free replacement.
    Question:
    - Is it free to get a replacement magsafe in Thailand?
    A little info:
I visited them once for the tear and break to macsafe cord they said it's still working they can't do anyting.
The MBP was bought in Sydney,AU I'm living in Bangkok,TH
Any help would be most welcome

I have been to that page, but it seems to partially conflict the info at the adaptersettlement.com site it links to.
Apple page:  "Whether your product is in or out of warranty, you can take your adapter to an Apple Authorized Service Provider or Apple Retail Store for evaluation and replacement if necessary."
Settlement page: "For Adapters shipped with a Subject Computer, you will have three years from the date of purchase of the Subject Computer or May 21, 2012, whichever is later, to claim a replacement adapter. ... If you do not claim a replacement adapter within these time periods, you will lose your right to obtain a replacement."

  • AC adapter replacement program for M4402

Hi everone, me again. Miss me?
Given that my Pismo works absolutely fine now, the reason I am posting relating to the power pack is an obscure one. I recently stumbled across a page in the PowerBook G3 support area about replacing the M4402 power adaptors for G3 'Books. And I have just that adaptor.
    The article:
    http://depot.info.apple.com/exchange/
details that the M4402 packs, with two-prong power connectors, carry a danger of overheating. This would make my adaptor a candidate for replacement; it's a 1998 adaptor, and the article applies to PowerBooks manufactured between 1998 and March 2000.
However, I've discovered that my PowerBook was purchased on the 8th of March 2000, which puts it's manufacture dte at roughly 4th March (these things sold quickly!). The AC adaptor is most likely older than the laptop, but it's not being accepted as a replaceable item. Surely if there's a risk of the adaptor leaving a burn mark in my carpet or on my desk, then that risk should be removed? There've been six reported cases of just this happening.
Any input into this would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Rob Johnson

    Hi cornelius,
Glad we got the age brackets sorted (ha ha). Well, the good news is that the yo-yo arrived today. The bad news? The IDIOTS (I use the term accurately) at Apple have sent me one with a TWO-PRONG POWER CABLE and I'm in the flippin' UK! I spend some considerable time arguing with technicians, and they send the wrong cable!
Fortunately for them, they sent the right yo-yo, and it works - I am, at least, graced by the presence of a ThinkPad T23 that uses the same clove-leaf power cable. But, now what do I do? It's been suggested that I cut the two-prong off and fit a UK plug, but that spoils the effect. The jiffy bag bears the 'Netherlands' address, which is a little strange to say the least.
So, what do I do now? Any advice would be helpful.
    Thanks to everyone who posted,
    Rob Johnson

  • Apple iPod Nano Replacement Program HELP?

I requested the replacement in mid November, but never received any box or packaging in which to send the product back to Apple. Yet when I check the repair status on the site, it says it was dispatched.
    What do I do?

In your case, if you have not gotten a box, CALL APPLE, they would need to set up the service again. Have your s/n or old repair id ready.
You would recieve your box in about 7-10 days after you set it up.

    Hope this helps.

  • Does Apple offer battery replacement programs for older generation ipods?

Hi, I was wondering if they offer the service for a 5.5g 80gb ipod. If they do, would they replace it with another 5.5g 80gb ipod? If they don't, I will hate the company since I got my ipod for less than 2 years and the battery is almost completely dead.

I was wondering if they offer the service for a 5.5g 80gb ipod.
Yes they do have the service but it's far cheaper to go somewhere else (ipodresq.com or ipodjuice.com) or do it yoursself.
If you really want Apple to do it (~$60 vs. ~$20 DIY), go here -> https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do
If they do, would they replace it with another 5.5g 80gb ipod?
No, they would replace your battery and send you the same iPod back.
If they don't, I will hate the company
    What are you, 13?

  • Sony VAIO AC Power Adapter Replacement Program fails to ship replacement Ticket# E61281499

After repeatedly being told that this would be put on high priority, still nothing received. Defective, unsafe power brick on voluntary recall was to be replaced within seven business days starting 5/27/15. Several calls and several weeks later, still no results. What gives?????

Yes please. It would not take much effort to be more helpful than the help desk who appear to work in an isolated group unable to comunicate with the departments that actually do the work. - Cannot talk to a supervisor- Cannot get status on parts availability- Cannot find out if anyone is acyually doing anything- Not allowed to call other departments- And my favorite, "That system is down, call back later" I even had a help desk person suggest that since SONY can't find the part, just go to a local store, purchase the part and we promise to reimbuse you. Right now our part cross reference system is down so I do not know what part you should buy." I do not know what's up in your company but this is DEFINETLY not the powerhouse company I've known for the last half century. Another KODAK in the making?

  • Apple tv replacement program

I bought an Apple TV in June 2012, and at the end of 2014 I started facing some wifi connection issues with the device.
It simply doesn't connect to the wifi, so it stopped working...
I tried to contact some Apple stores and they always say there is no replacement program in place, however, I've red multiple reports explaining Apple released a replacement program for 3rd generation Apple TVs, for certain serial numbers, and my Apple TV is one of them, unfortunately (C07HH2GJDRHN).
Despite Apple call center says my Apple TV is eligeble, the stores say they can only replace the device if it was purchased up to two years ago, which doesn't make sense. If you are saying it is a production problem, you should not establish a deadline for the replacement. At the same time the official communication shared by Apple to its service providers has a mistake on the details of the serial numbers covered by the program..so it is a complete mess.
So, Apple, let me know if after purchasing a Mac Book Air, 2 Iphones, 2 iPODs, 1 Air Port and 1 Ipad, you will disappoint me not replacing my Apple TV...did I make a mistake trusting on this brand?

  • My BT keyboard delete button now forward deletes rather than backspacing like it used to do. This happened after I got my iMac back from the hard drive replacement program. Any ideas how to return the keyboard to the default backspace?

The good news after my hard drive was replaced during Apple's Seagate replacement program -- all my data and settings reinstalled seamlessly through Time Machine and my external hard drive. Bad news? My BT keyboard will now only forward delete when I hit the delete key rather than backward delete. I find this so ironic since I hated this feature when I switched from PC to Mac, but now I'm totally used to it. I tried resetting the default under system preferences, but it didn't help. Otherwise, keyboard works perfectly. This is so strange. Anyone have any suggestions? Oh -- and now I see my arrows don't work either.

  • Replacement program for the Ipod Nano 1st generation

I am attempting to get to the replacement program for the Ipod Nano 1st generation, but whenever I attempt to access the program I am redirected to an adapter replacement program. Did I miss the opportunity to replace the Ipod?

No, you didn't. I just bought an iPod nano 1st gen off of Craigslist and immediatly I went to the iPod replacement program website and requested a new device. I just don't know if I will receive the older 6th Generation or the newer 7th generation.
