Apple Technical Support 2.0 Software Update problem
Hi everyone
I just contacted Apple Technical Support about the 2.0 software update. When my ipod is connected to itunes I have the message that a *newer version (2.0) is available and to click update*. When I click update I get the message about the new update via itunes music store and would I like to learn more, so I click on learn more button and it looks like its connecting to itunes music store then does nothing.
This is what technical support said "engineers are still researching the software, because its actually has not been updated properly yet, one or two days to be fixed."
It will be updated in the US later this evening or tomorrow. It should be available here in Australia either Sunday or Monday.This is sub-standard. Links on Apple website, but to nothing, sometimes iTunes says an update is available, sometimes not, when it says update, it links to nothing, the app store is available, but no links to update 2.0 for iPod touch, search comes up empty, price varies on website ($12.99 and $9.95 Aus$.
It's either available or not Apple - not some half-baked mix.
So the July 11 date that Apple announced at WWDC was a kinda/maybe/sorta might be ready just a little bit date?

When updating to itune 10.5 I get this error message ,older version of bonjour can not be removed, and older version of apple mobile support cannot be removed, any one know how to fix this.

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through properly now?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.) -
Contacting Apple Technical Support online?
Wasted $10 on an app required for my son for High School, it stopped working after 6 months, contacted iTunes for a refund as it is the App that is ****! not the ipad, they refused to assist, told me I need to contact Apple Technical Support, how does one do this online???
The reviews in the AppStore also show that you're not alone in this freezing immediately after launching the app.
Some users have reported the latest update released 2 days ago (v2.0.1) fixes it for them. Otherwise you'll have to wait until Apple releases another bug fix version.

Make sure to include all relevant info about which exact devices and which versions of iOS and the Pages app. -

How do you contact Apple Technical Support to assist in resolving iTunes 7 start up issues? I have been without iTunes for over a month and have no way to resolve why this program freezes when opened. It would be helpful to have a phone number or email address so that I can contact someone directly to assist in resolving this issue. The message board efforts, although very helpful, have hit a dead end on this issue.

So far I have found Australians to be the best technical support, although its rare to get them on the phone support line.
If I go to the shop in here, an Apple person will solve an issue in 7 mins, that a phone overseas tech help couldn't in one and half hours. That is the truth.Obviously you are not a Kiwi. Do you think there is something in the water that accounts for the difference?

in the iPhoto preferences ==> accounts delete your e-mail account and reenter it

IMHO the better solution is to set Apple mail as the email client in the iPhoto preferences

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.

Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.

have a new computer and when ipod connected it synchronises up to the end when a message appears "Cannot be synced; You do not have enough access priveleges for this operation"

Hello, the 'Save As' dialog box used to allow the backspace button to go up one level in the directory when the focus is in the folder contents box but it does not work any more, please help. I kept forgetting and procrastinating about following your instructions, since I have internet access only for limited amounts of time and usually I am busy with important tasks when I am.
Out of the blue, the problem corrected itself (the Save As box started to open full screen, then shrunk down to a normal size and the edges can now be dragged to a custom size).
Even the copy and paste problem in the filenaming area seems to have been less troublesome lately even though there have been no updates to Firefox in a few weeks.
Even though I marked the solution as not helpful, the problem has in fact been resolved. I will save the solution instructions in case the issue returns. -

Have ipad 1. Was working fine and was able to connect to the home Wi Fi network. Was running ios3.2.2. Upgrade to so called improved ios 4.3.2 and cheers the pad just doesnt join the home network. Tried all the tricks and trouble shooting listed in the forum and as guided by the technical support. Even restored the pad three times. Still the same problem remains. Have been advised to upgrade to 4.3.3, but am apprehensive- dont know what else will stop working. As such without WiFi my pad is as good as a piece of junk. Apple has some serious issues that require sorting out. If anyone can help me kindly do so.
