Apple TV 1 stops playing music, returns to a menu screen. Usually occurs after several hours. Reselecting music playlist and pushing start will get it playing again. I have not seen anything like this in the forum.
Apple TV 1 is used exclusively for music playback. The device is often in use 4 to 8 hours daily. I have had no problems with it in over two years of use. In the last few weeks it has started a new behaviour.
At random times but not always, it will simply stop playing the playlist and return to a menu screen. Playing music again requires selecting a playlist and pressing play. The device continues working and does not require restarting or resetting.
I have browsed the topics for Apple TV 1 and have not found anything similar to this problem.

Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first.

When i plugged my ipod into the computer it started to make buzzing and screeching noises. It became hot so i removed it and then the screen froze while it continued to make these noises. I have never had anything like this happen. (never gotten it wet or had it exposed to extreme temperatures) It is also unresponsive to any buttons on the ipod and it didn't show up when i plugged it into my computer. What do I do? Also if it is unfixable could i get a free one from apple?

computer felt hot and while running apple hardware test the screen glitches covered the screen and it froze. Now computer wont boot up. Again AHT code is 4MOT/2/40000004:ADD and I have just seen ODD and HDD codes discussed on other threads.Those were hardrive or superdrive fans, so I am guessing this is a fan issue and then it fried by graphics card. Any help as to whether this is game over or worth repairing would be very appreciated.
You need to take it to your local Apple Store or AASP for a professional evaluation. Apple does not publish the codes from AHT, you can Google the code you got and see if you can determine what it means however the best method is to let a pro handle it.

please can you help? My apple I pad min version 7.1 (11D167) model MD531B/a. Capasity 13.4 GB keeps getting very hot and the charger plug. It seem to run down quickly too. It's been going on for a long time now. I have tried resetting it but this does nothing. Kind regards Rosemary.
Hi Rosemary,
These devices will get very warm (even uncomfortably so) when charging. From my own experience this is exacerbated if the device is in use at the time of charging or if the device is in a case that does not allow air to reach the device.
You will see a warning on the iPad's display in the form of a yellow triangle and exclamation mark long before the device reaches a dangerous temperature.
As long as the device is no warmer than a nice cup of coffee, you're in the clear.
As you have mentioned that your battery is draining quickly, this could indicate that the processes running at the time are rather intensive on the iPad's resources and this would naturally raise the temperature of the iPad.
If you have a look in Settings>General>Usage and look for the Standby and Usage times toward the bottom, are the two numbers significantly different? If you see that the Usage and Standby times are identical then you are experiencing a software issue where the device is not entering sleep as it should when not in use.

I just downloaded LR 5.7 on my new MacBookPro computer. I did not set up any presets or anything at all, for that matter. When I import a photo, it changes in exposure automatically. Two stops overexposed!! I never had that issue with my other LR programs on Dell.
any advice?Generally I would not use Facebook for sharing any photos, it compresses the photos substantially, and when you have shadows and dark colours you get visible "bands" where there should be subtle gradients, ie at sunsets and sunrises.
It sounds like you are using two methods to upload to Facebook:
1. Sharing from within Aperture, which basically syncs Facebook with your Aperture album, so any changes made at either end gets synced, hence the deletions from Albums, although the original file should still be in your library, just removed rom the album. It is like a playlist in iTunes.
2. Exporting pics and uploading to Facebook from the browser.
I am not sure how method 1 gets compressed, but I know that uploading hi-res jpegs to Facebook using method 2 results in poor quality images.
I wouldn't even bother comparing option 1 or 2, and they will both be poor images once you view them on Facebook, as opposed to viewing uploaded images on proper image sharing / hosting sites.
Your problem is not with Aperture, it is using Facebook for showing your work.
If you export pics form Aperture at high res jpegs or TIFFs your images will be fine.
If you insist to use Facebook as your way to share your work, then your workflow should be this:
1. Right click images you want to share.
2. Select Export version.
3. Export as 100% size and ensure the export settings are set at 100% quality.
4. Upload this pic into Facebook.
This will get you the best image size and resolution on Facebook.
See how you go. -
I downloaded Aperture and transferred all pix from Iphoto. Everything was on Aperture. Suddenly I have lost all the pictures. I have a handbook, etc., but to no avail. Help!
When this happens to a new user the two most likely causes are:
Aperture opend a different library that is empty. To check this go to File->Switch to Library. You'll get a window that looks somehting like this:
Of course the names for the libraries will be different. What does yours show? Is there more then one library listed. If you select Other/New you get this:
The first library in the list is the currenttly opened Library. What does you window say?
2. The other possibilty is that you have a filter set on the library keeping you from actually seeing the images in it. Go to the Library tabb of the Inspector and select the Photos icon. Make sure the search box looks like this:
If neither of these two actions clear up your problem post back.

Has any one ever seen anything like this?
This randomly pops up on my computer and freezes it, I erased my hard drive then restored, and it happened again. I went to apple store and they kept it for two days and did the same thing, then said if it happens again its probably something in my library, and as soon as I got home it happened again so I'm obviously putting whatever it is back on, when I restore from time machine. Can anyone help???

My daughter downloaded a bunch of apps and I need to know how to get them reversed. I have not received any email receipts, but the charges have shown up on my bank account. Since updating to Mavericks, Mail doesn't work properly. It just stops working (no error messages--it just won't check for new mail) and I must shut it down and reopen it to get it working again. Any suggestions?
Try to force quit the mail app
Double tap the home button. When you see the app previews on the screen scroll sideways if needed to get the preview in question on the screen. Flick that preview up and off the screen to close the app. Single tap the home button or home screen preview to exit the mode.
Failing that, go into the settings, mail, contacts and calendars and remove your account info then put it back in and see if that works -

what can i do to fix this?Strangely enough, I exchanged the ATV2 and ATV3 and now both work fine. I suspect it may have something to do with the fact that (previously) the ATV3 (1080p) was behind an ethernet hub. Somehow the ATV2 (720p) does not mind being behind the hub. Either that or iTunes suddenly became smarter since the exchange . Anyway, it works now so I'm not touching it. Thanks for the suggestion.

Recently, after cancelling the tick of a song, which is the next song after the one I am listening, in the song list, the canceled song will still run for the next song. I remember that it used not to happen like this. How can I solve this problem?
This looks like a change of behaviour in iTunes 12. Once songs are queued up to the Up Next list then they play whether ticked or not. If you want to skip certain songs already queued click the Up Next tool, then click the small X to the left of the song that appears when you hover over it.
