Most of us do not have this problem and can connect to our libraries on demand, it would therefor seem reasonable to assume that the issue lies somewhere other than iTunes or the Apple TV, my first thought is network issues, have you done anything to ensure it's not your network.

I have an imac 20-inch Late 2006 model on OSX 10.7.4 running iphoto 11, somehow the application ccleaner has deleted my photos from my iphoto library. I have time machine but the iphoto library file is missing when I access time machine.
To restore photos I have followed the steps below
Quit iPhoto.
Connect your Time Machine drive.
In the Finder, open the folder containing your iPhoto Library. Unless you've moved your iPhoto Library, it can be found in Home/Pictures/iPhoto Library.
Enter Time Machine. (Time Machine can be found in the Dock or in the /Applications folder.)
Choose your desired backup. The timeline on the right side of the screen displays a purple tick mark for each of the backups stored on your Time Machine drive.
Select the iPhoto library you would like to restore, and click the Restore button.
I dont get the option in step 6 as I dont have an iphoto library file to choose? Does anyone know why?

Thanks but as mentioned all is intact, even at step 3 I can see the current library in Home/Pictures/iPhoto Library which has no photos, but when I access time machine any point before the NOW option the iphoto library in Home/Pictures/iPhoto Library is missing from the finder window.
As you can see here it is
and now its gone. I have no explanantion.
How do I go about moving this question as you suggested.

Replace library from y:\shared music\ to \\mybookworld\shared music\

I have stored my itunes files on my NAS with the absolute path Y:\shared music\. Unfortunately I have added files to the library also with the relative path \\mybookworld\shared music\.
The problem is that the same file might be twice in the library, one entry with Y:\ and one with \\MYBOOKWORLD\
How could I replace Y:\ by \\MYBOOKWORLD ?
Any hint is really appriciated?

I've written a few scripts that might be able to help.
Unconsolidated scans selected tracks or your entire library to identify those that are outside your designated media folder.
ConsolidateByMoving is meant to move files (rather than copy them as iTunes does) but if a file already exists in the "new" location it will just switch the link from the "old" one. I did have it set up to send the file on the old path to the recycle bin, but given your situation where two paths can refer to the same file I have just updated the script to make this an optional feature that is normally disabled but could be restored by changing a declaration in the script.
DeDuper is designed to remove unwanted duplicates. Once you've used the previous script to make sure all files are using the same root path (\\MYBOOKWORLD?) then this one should correctly identify multiple entries to the same file or physical duplicates and remove any that are found. See this thread for more background.
N.b. "entire library" in the context of these scripts currently excludes Apps & Ringtones. Apps can be processed in a separate run, but for some reason Ringtones are currently invisible to my scripts.

Over 9000 photos in my iPhoto library have just vanished - it says they're there but I can't view them

iphoto has just lost over 9000 photos. They have just vanished. I NEED THEM. Please somebody tell me what to do.

"Loading photos" wont stop

When entering Iphoto all I can get is "loading photos" - nothing happens. I have turned my computer off and back on and still the same thing happens. It seems stuck here. anyway I can stop this? Thanks

Give the following a try:
1 - run Disk Utility and repair disk permissions
2 - manually check and set the permissions on the iPhoto Library and contents as follows:
Setting Permissions for iPhoto Library Folder
1 - Select the iPhoto Library folder and type Command-I.
2 - When the Info window comes up go to the Ownership and Permissions section and make sure You have Read & Write permission and that the Owner and Group have Read & Write also. Others - Read Only.
3 - Then click on the "Apply to enclosed items..." button.
If the preceding does not get rid of the SWOD, after making a backup copy of the iPhoto Library folder, try launching iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library, selecting all options. If it allows you to start the rebuild process, you may be able to get past the SWOD point of the launch process.

Loading Photos Indefinitely

I am using iPhoto 4.0.3. I guess I have about 4,000 photos loaded in. Today when I started iPhoto, it just keeps saying "Loading Photos," but never loads photos and never gives me an error message. The little black circle thing just keeps spinning. Here are things I have tried so far that did not make any change to this situation:
Deleted iPhoto preference file
Restarted the computer
Repaired permissions
Any thoughts? I'd like to get my pictures back. I do have a backup - would copying the backup files into the main folder help?

I have 134 GB out of 250. I upgraded the hard drive this past February with a brand new one.
It turns out that the library that iPhoto opened was the one that it rebuilt when I tried to rebuild it yesterday. It didn't open immediately after I rebuilt it, but the next day it did. The original iPhoto library still won't open, but I am not too concerned about it since the rebuilt one is working just fine now.

TS2972 Apple TV and photo library

I have 1080p Apple TV and am running windows 7 with iTunes and have had home sharing working on my wifi with Apple TV for months. I have just added new photos to the library and put them on my iPad but Apple TV won't display them. I have restarted iTunes. Restarted the computer. Sync home sharing. They still don't display. The photos are in a folder the same as all the others and I can see all the old ones not the new ones.
Looking online I'm not the only one to have this problem. Sort it out apple as Apple TV is not fit for sale as it dose not work as you advertise.

I also asked if computer was on and running iTunes, if all was up to date. I assume you have not done any troubleshooting so check out the tips

I am creating an Apple book of photos using iPhoto and a panoramic image.

I am creating an Apple book of photos using iPhoto. I have a panoramic image that I have split into two 9.5X2.583 in pieces in PhotoShop. I want to paste them into facing pages. When I try to move the images to the book I get images much larger which won't fit on the page. I am using Mac OS X 10.7.4 and iPhoto 11 (9.3.2).
What do I need to do to make this work?

Why not just use the full panoramic photo in one of the "spread" layouts which span two pages.

Photos in Photo Library are the ones that you've synced from your iTunes to your iPad. To free up space, you should delete these photos on your Photo Library since you already have the copies on your computer: Connect your iPad with your computer > Launch iTunes > click your iPad and navigate to Photos window > check Sync Photos from > select an empty folder and click Apply to carry out the syncing. After then, all photos in your Photo Library will be deleted.
As for photos in Camera Roll on your iPad, you should copy them to your computer for backup and deleted the copies on your iPad:Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your Mac or Windows PC - Apple Support

My husband has an Ipad that his company bought him that has their own apple ID for him, however, we have purchased a lot of music on our personal Apple ID. Is there a way to put OUR personal music on his work Ipad?

My husband has a work Ipad with a different Apple ID. Is there a way to load our personal music onto his Ipad with our Apple ID? We don't want to have to repurcahse music just for his Ipad. When we put it into our computer is asks us to switch the Apple ID, but we don't want to mess anything up for his work.

iPads are meant to be single user devices, with single ID's. The only way I can think of is if you burned cd's of your music, then ripped them on the work computer that he syncs with and get them on the device from there (I'm guessing this will work, I don't purchase music do I don't know if the DRM travels when you burn cd's or not).
You can't run 2 different apple ID's on the same iPad.

ATV is wireless. DNS is set to Auto. It's not my network.
The ATV's performance with Netflix (only App I tried) was worse using Google's DNS as others have suggested. The problem with the Netflix App (for me) only occurred after the latest iOS update to ATV, and it seems to have affected only the Netflix App.
As I mentioned in my original comment, the Vizio in my room (which happens to be further from the WiFi source) runs just fine and streams Netflix with no issues. In fact, we can run it while simultaneously streaming on the ATV and the Vizio Netflix App still doesn't skip a beat. I can simultaneously run two or three other laptops on WiFi (since my wife and I both work from home) and she'll have the Vizio streaming the entire time and there are no issues.
If we switch the ATV to Hulu+ (or other Apps), it runs fine, but the shows my kids want to watch are on Netflix. All indications point to the Netflix App and an issue endemic to Apple.

Shared Music Library

For some reason after updating to iTunes 6.0 when I want to access other peoples library I get: Shared music library xxx not accessible for unknown reason (-3259)

I am also having this issue lately, but I am set up properly, I'm sure. the differencer may be that my wife has my old iphone now but i would think syncing would work. I don'ty see newly purchased music while viewing the music library on her user profile like I do on the main user profile. Not sure what changed, if anything.
