Applecare for a warranty replacement

Can I buy Applecare for a phone that Apple gave me as a replacement? My original defective 3G is still under the original warranty but I would like to buy Applecare for the replacement they gave me today.
Another question, if I already had Applecare before the replacement took place, would it transfer to the replacement phone?

Note that AppleCare doesn't cover natural battery damage, because all batteries decrease their capacity with the use. AppleCare only covers battery design problems.
Apart from that, the battery replacement for the MacBook Pro with Retina display costs $199 without taxes. Read "Battery Replacement" > http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=servicefaq&geo=United_States&product=Macn otebooks

  • Ipod touch 4g has broken pins and the hold button is defective, is it eligible for off warranty replacement  online it says it'd be $99.99

    i have an ipod touch 4g 16gb ios 6.1.5.
the dock port pins are damaged badly, music has not played for a while but is come and go now. dont know why (without headphones)
and the hold button doesn't work,  will apple still honor the "off warranty replacement thingy" i had issues with my old ipod (not dock issues)
i know they check the dock port on arrival, but i need to know if the ipod will qualify or not
    thanks in advance

Almost assuredly the answer is yes.  Take it to an Apple store for replacement or contact them using the Contact Us link at the bottom of this page.

  • If I go through Verizon for a warranty claim, will that void my AppleCare ?

If I go through Verizon for a warranty claim under the 1yr warranty and they ship me out a replacement device, will that void my AppleCare+? The reason I ask is because I picked up AppleCare plus, but the nearest Apple store is close to an hour away, and I figure it'll be more convienent to hit up the Verizon Store (and definitely quicker vs. doing it over the phone).

Apple handles ALL hardware support for iPhones.
The only reason to take it to VZW would be an insurance claim if you have insurance on the device through them.
I would not take it to VZW otherwise as it could potentially cause issues in the future if you needed to utilize the Apple Care Protection + that you purchased.

  • AppleCare for iPhone 3G / Advance replacement service UK

Having had a good look around the UK online store, it seems as though the Applecare for iPhone is currently unavailable or has been deleted. Is anyone aware of what has become of it, whether it might return or will an alternative me made available otherwise?
Having made use of Apple's own support with respect to macs I've owned in the past, I'm keener to purchase Apple's own hardware/software support than that of a third party insurer.

Thanks for the reply. I've just checked with the UK online sales people; Yes, Applecare for iPhone is currently withdrawn. The phone itself has a 1 year hardware warranty from Apple, and tech support is available for the duration of the airtime contract (18 months in most cases with O2 UK).
With luck the AC for iPhone will return at some point as you suggest.

  • Ipad Mini Replacement and wanting to purchase AppleCare for the replacement

I have sent my iPad mini for repair of the screen and will be getting the replacement.  Can I purchase AppleCare for this replacement once I register and receive it?
    Thank you.

I don't think AppleCare+ is available for replacement devices, but to be sure you should aks Apple directly for an accurate answer.

  • Did Apple increase the Out of Warranty Replacement cost for iPhone 5 from $229 to $269?

Did Apple increase the Out of Warranty Replacement cost for iPhone 5 from $229 to $269?
I would have expected this cost to decrease not increase with the announcement of the new iPhones yesterday.

I think they must have increased it recently because I was told $269 to replace my iPhone 5 on 9/13/13.  I don't know how iPhone 5 replacements are going to work out now that they won't be carrying them anymore.

  • HT1665 hi, i have an iPhone 5 and have had to replace the charger cable 3 times, its cost me a small fortune! i paid for applecare + for it, am i covered?

hi, i have an iPhone 5 and have had to replace the charger cable 3 times, its cost me a small fortune! i paid for applecare + for it, am i covered?

Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as NEW.
If the basic troubleshooting steps don't work, then you'll need to bring your phone into Apple for evaluation and probable replacement.

hi can anone answer the question i have asked ??
Ques: Hi, I have a Iphone 5. Its a little physically damaged at corders of steel band and now its not getting boot up. I am from INDIA and what to know what is the excat procedure for my phone replacement. Phone is under warranty.

now who is responsible ?? I think the apple care people are responsible as the phone was charging when they cleaned that charging jack. fault is at their end.
It doesn't matter that the damage doesn't appear to be related to the problem you're having. Once the phone is damaged, the warranty is void.
Forum etiquette note: you don't need to post the identical response three times.
    Best of luck.

  • Have not warranty or applecare for new iphone 5. What do I do?

I recently purchased an Iphone 5 through AT&T in USA. However I need to cancel my service as I will be returning to Australia much ealier than expected. I did not purchase applecare for my iphone. And if I am correct I do not have a 1 year warranty on this phone with Apple since I purchased it through AT&T. So thus I have no warranty and can no longer purchase applecare since it has been more then 30 days of purchasing the phone.
So what can I do to safeguard my phone from technical issues (such as faulty hardware etc)? Or if its screws up is there nothing I can do?

First off, yes you still have the default Apple one year warranty, no matter who you bought it from.  That warranty however, is NOT international, so you may not get any help in Australia with hardware issues no matter what.
If you are leaving the USA, then you will need to terminate your AT&T contract.  Once you have paid your final bill and all early termination fees, and BEFORE you leave the USA, you can ask AT&T to unlock it for you.
see http://www.att.com/esupport/article.jsp?sid=KB414532&cv=820&_requestid=556824#fb id=tJgmtz6tKru and the link to the online form at the bottom to request the unlock.
They will email you when the unlock is ready, then restore in iTunes and you should get a screen at the end confirming it is now unlocked.
An option then would be to sell it here in the USA (an unlocked phone 5 should still be highly valuable to many folks), and then buy a new one when you get back home - then you will have a valid warranty there.

  • Does my phone qualify for out of warranty replacement?

    Hi all,
I have just dropped a dumbbell on my iphone 3GS, (dohhh!), the screen has cracked at the top but shattered down the bottom. The phone is still on and charges however i cant use touch screen at the bottom where it has shattered, there allso tiny bits of loose glass at this part.

If your iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad is Broken
Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead, they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.
ATTN: Beginning July 2013 Apple Stores are now equipped to do screen repairs/replacements in-house on iPhone 5 and 5C. In some cases while you wait. According to Apple this is the beginning of equipping Apple Stores with the resources needed to do most repairs for iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches that would not require major replacements. Later in the year the services may be extended as Apple Stores become equipped and staffed with the proper repair expertise. So, if you need a screen repaired or a broken screen replaced or have your stuck Home button fixed, call your local Apple Store to see if they are now doing these in-house.

  • Out of Warranty replacement for phone fixed elsewhere

    Hi guys!
I dropped my phone and smashed the screen. The phone was out of warranty when I did it. I had it fixed by a local repair shop and it was working fine.
I'm now having problems elsewhere in the phone (which may or may not be related to the repair)
Can anyone tell me whether I could get an out of warranty replacement with Apple? I'm happy to pay the out of warranty replacement cost.
    Thanks!
    Jodie

  • Applecare Original iPhone Battery Replacement

My battery life has decreased significantly, so I called support and learned that under Applecare, they will cross-ship you a like-new replacement phone for no charge if your battery life is under 50%- but they put a hold on your credit card for the full amount of the replacement until the problem is tested.
My question is this: how stringent are they with the less than 50% battery condition? And what is normal standby time and usage for a 2 year old original iphone running the latest software?
The battery life is certainly not meeting my needs, but will I be charged for the replacement phone if they deem the old battery fit? Will I have the option to get the old phone (and battery) back instead of paying $499 if that is the case?
Any experiences or insight is helpful- thanks!

Apple offers an out of warranty or not covered under the warranty "repair" price, which pays for an exchange at a discounted price. The cost is $199 plus tax.
Did AppleCare inform you the replacement cost for an original iPhone is $499 in this situation - for an iPhone that remains under warranty?
I had an iPhone exchanged under warranty once via AppleCare. They required a credit card in case I didn't return the iPhone being exchanged within the required time frame - within 10 business days I believe.
If they determine that your iPhone's battery does not meet this requirement, I would think you have the option to have the iPhone returned to you. You should be able to confirm this with AppleCare.
