Applescript and voice control without SpeecchRecognitionServer

Hi, I want to make a voice controled applescript, but without SpeechRecognitionServer. What should I do?

I have been running Siri on my apple iPhone with Verizon I got in April 2011.
It has been GREAT!
Just about a few days ago, this program "Siri" has added the following text that shows up as soon as you start the program...
"I've been replaced! The new Siri is even smarter and better-looking than me, and waiting for you on iPhone 4s. I'll be leaving for home on Oct 15th."
"Until then... how can I help you?"
My question is...
How can Apple take away my current program on my current iPhone BEFORE the iPhone 4s.
I am NOT going to buy the new iPhone, since I have had my current iPhone for less than a year!
I will REALLY get MAD at Apple if my current iPhone will lose the original Siri!

Lost compass and voice control apps

I upgraded from a 3g to a 3GS and when I plugged into iTunes I told it to restore the new phones settings from backup of the 3G. All was good until I realized that this wiped out the native 3GS apps- compass, maps, and voice control. Any ideas how to get them back without restoring to factory settings?

Those apps probably cannot be "wiped out" since they are built into the phone.
Try a reset of the phone: Hold the button on top and the Home button together.
Also look and see if your icons have moved to a different screen.

I have no idea what may have caused your MacBook to stop working, but from your description it kind of sounds like it may have started before you ran Software Update and installed the new Apps. Just the general slow feeling and bugginess is what tips me off. You said that you weren't sure if you had closed all open windows, that doesn't matter if the computer restarts itself. It automatically closes all other open applications when restarting.
As to your data being retrievable, if when you take it in they do a fresh install of the OS, then no, it will not be unless you want to pay several thousand dollars to a software retrieval company.
I am glad to hear that you have taken into the Apple Store to get it fixed, and that you have all of your purchased music backed up to your iPod. You should be able to just transfer it all back to iTunes once you get your computer back should it be necessary.
As a side note, the proper place for this topic would probably in the MacBook forums, not iTunes since there is no evidence that iTunes started the issue.

Power button and voice control buttons won't work on my macbook pro retina

I found that my power and voice control buttons won't work on my new Macbook pro retina. I can't shut it down or restart it in any way. And Im afraid if I force to shut it down I can't turn on it cuz the power button won't work. What should I do? Any idea???

Back up all data.
Quit Facetime and Messages if either is running.
Step 1
Hold down the option key and select
Go ▹ Library
from the Finder menu bar. Move the following item from the Library folder to the Trash (either may not exist):
Caches/com.apple.imfoundation.IMRemoteURLConnectionAgent
Leave the Library folder open. Log out and log back in. Try the applications again. If they work now, stop here. Close the Library folder.
Step 2
If you still have problems, quit again. In the Preferences subfolder, there may be several files having names that begin with any of the following strings:
com.apple.imdsmsrecordstore
com.apple.imservice
Move them all to the Trash. There may also be a file with the name "com.apple.imagent.plist". Move that to the Trash too.
Also in the Preferences folder, there's a subfolder named "ByHost". Open it and do the same thing.
Log out and log back in. Test again.

Random music pausing and voice control starting

when i am listening music in my itunes (ipod 4) it is paused and continue randomly.suddenly voice over system is starting.i updated software.how can i solve the problem ?

I think the other responder may be on to something. The Voice Control Prompt will come up if you press & hold the play/pause button on the Apple headset (or any compatible headset). If you are sweating a significant amount, it is possible that is getting into the control n the headset (or on the iPod itself) causing it to short out that button connection. If you have access to just a standard headphones (without that third connector on the plug) you could try those, or possibly even a stereo bluetooth headset removing the wires from the picture all together.

Why are my headphones activating siri and voice control?

This just started happening the other day after I updated it. When I plug my headphones in, it activates siri, and if siri is off it turns on voice control. Is there anyway to fix this? I like being able to switch the songs on my headset and not have to pull my phone out everytime. And the voice contol thing is pretty annoying, how do i turn it off?

Are you using the included Ear Pods with remote that came with your iPhone? Please follow the steps below to see if the center button could be stuck, causing this to occur.
The stereo headset buttons are not functioning properly
Verify the headset being used is compatible with the iPhone.
Verify there is no debris in the headset jack.
Insert the stereo headset and play audio using the Music app. Verify both left and right channels are functioning.
Press the center button to see if it can pause and resume audio.
Make a phone call and see if the microphone is working.
If the issue persists, try another headset.
If the issue persists with another headset, have the iPhone serviced.

TS2634 Ear phones and mic and voice control always coming on

I am having trouble when listening to music and using the earphones ... Voice control keeps coming on

I have a similar problem but I don't know if it's localized just to using voice control because I have not used the headphones much. But similarly I was exploring my new iphone 3gs one day and tried voice control to play a song and no audio came out. I unplugged the headphones and still did not get any audio. I turned it off and back on again and it finally started working. This has since happened to me. So twice this has happened in a brief period. Not sure if this is a software or a hardware issue.

Voice Control for the Music app is always on, but you can prevent voice dialing when iPhone is locked. Prevent voice dialing when iPhone is locked: Go to Settings > General > Passcode Lock, then turn off Voice Dial (available only when Siri is turned off in Settings > General > Siri). To use voice dialing, you must first unlock iPhone.

Applescript and insert names without extension (Mail)

Hi,
my script does the following when i drop a video file on this app:
1. transcode it to ogg
2. copy the name and insert it in a newly created mail in the Subject and Message with "NameOfFile"
It is nearly perfect but it copies the file extension in the new mail, too.
How do i get the app to insert only the name without the Extension??

There are a couple of points in your original script that should be addressed.
One you are dropping files on the script and sending them out as mail messages but because you are setting the filename before you actually loop through the dropped files all mail messages will have the same filename. You should move
tell application "Finder"
                    set NameOfFile to name of item (item 1 of droppedFiles as alias)
          end tell
Inside the repeat to get the actual filename in each mail message.
Then this
if videoname contains "." then
             set oldDelims to AppleScript's text item delimiters
             set AppleScript's text item delimiters to {"."}
             set videooutput to text 1 thru text item -2 of videoname
             set AppleScript's text item delimiters to oldDelims
end if
While it works is defeating the whole point of setting the text item delimiter.
Once you do
set AppleScript's text item delimiters to {"."}
then text item 1 of videoname is the filename and text item 2 is the extension ie:
set videooutput to text item 1 of videoname
will get the name of the file into videooutput
In fact you could just use videooutput as the name in the mail message.

HT4623 Just updated my Iphone5 and voice control keeps popping up

& trying to play music and also connecting to facetime,and now calling people by its self eeekkk I wonder how long this has been going on help I just turned phone off

Thought I had worked it out and now I have tried to download my apps and it keeps telling me this computer is unauthorised but I keep authorising it OMG I am about to throw this think away. I have been doing this 4hours now

I turned off my iPod touch and later tried to turn it on again and got a blank screen. Now I just get white or a blank screen. Screenshot and voice control work and it responds to charging. I already tried resetting it.

It was fine a few hours ago and isn't working now.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Workgroup and administrative control without permission

My PC is for personal home use. I noticed that it was set to workgroup. I also do not have administrative privileges
Hoe do I know if I'm also part of a domain? I use my PC at home for shopping etc.. how did it become part of workgroup and admin rights taken over. Also I feel like its being accessed remotely. I block remote connections but it always seems to get changed.

If I've understood you correctly you could make his/her account and admin one for the LDAP node. Install WorkGroup Manager on a client or his/her workstation. Launch it. Provide the Server's IP address or fqdn. Key in his/her account name and password.
You should be looking at the LDAP node.
This method should mean there's no requirement to provide any other admin account's details as well as no need to login to the server itself. I can think of other ways of doing this but the above should work and give you want you want - hopefully?

I've noticed that after updating to IOS5, the vioce commands on my Sony headphones no longer work. Just wondering if this was experienced by others.
A restore/reboot didn't help.
