Applet saving dll files
we have an applet which uses native components (dll) via jni. its a secure signed applet and accesses the cilients local file system and writes the needed dll to users temp folder on load.
we do that with policy settigs
Policy.setPolicy(new Policy() {
public PermissionCollection getPermissions(CodeSource codesource){
Permissions perms = new Permissions();
perms.add(new AllPermission());
return (perms);
public void refresh(){
});while applet is running you can not delete the dll (locked file) which was writtnen by the applet (which is a good thing)
I guess because of the recent windows security updates (or sun changed something) we now can not write the dll file directly. we somehow achieve it by writing it as a temp file:
if we use File.createTempFile("wrapper", ".dll",new File (tempFolder)) we can write it as a temp file which is a strange thing.
and now while the applet is running, the temp file can be deleted.
Can any one tell me about the changes that was made by microsoft or sun which causes these differences.
hi, do do you know some url where I get information
about how to make an applet for uploading files by
drag and drop?
thanksI would assume you can search the net to find such a URL better than anyone else here could, since you supposedly know more details about what you're looking for. I won't even bother to write a sample Google search URL - you can do that. Use your brain a little.

"I/O Error when Saving Document"; "PreflightLib.dll file missing or corrupt"
These error messages are received when trying to Save the document. The document has Typewriter entries and added/replaced pages. I have done this action almost every day for the past year without any problems. Now it occurs on 2 different computers. I have cleaned my registry and searched to see if I deleted or moved the ".dll" file - no luck. What to do? Work depends on the Acrobat program. Please Help.
Hi dhults,
Please follow these steps to manually re-register PreflightLib.dll file through command prompt:
Click the Start button.
Type "command" in the search box... DO NOT hit ENTER yet!
While holding CTRL-Shift on your keyboard, hit ENTER.
You will be prompted with a permission dialog box.
Click Yes.
Type the following command: regsvr32 /u PreflightLib.dll.
Hit ENTER. This will UN-REGISTER your file.
Type the following command: regsvr32 /i PreflightLib.dll.
Hit ENTER. This will RE-REGISTER your file.
Close the command prompt window.
Re-start the program associated with PreflightLib.dll error.
If still an error occurs, then you may need to repair Acrobat. For that, go to Help menu and click 'Repair Acrobat Installation'.
I hope this will help you.

Problem registering CremePie.dll file
Hi All,
I am working with signature capture in standard MAM. I am trying to run the standard signature capture functionality in PDA. I have deployed mamsignapplet.cab and
signaturecapture.cab files in side WEB-INF\signature folder.
In SAP Note 897289, I read that we need to register the some dll files in PDA, so that the browser will supports the applets in it.
Also in the same document it was mentioned like
For CrEme versions 3.25, 3.26 and 3.27a there is an acknowledged by NSICOM
bug as plug-in registration link contains wrong dll path for those
versions. Copy/Paste both "Register/Unregister Plug-In" files from
\Windows\CrEme\Demos to your desktop with the help of ActiveSync, open both
dlls and change the existing line with the following
\windows\regsvrce.exe \windows\creme\bin\CremePie.dll.
I have copied Register Plugin/Unregister Plugin files to my desktop and tried to edit them. But they saved as shorcut and I could not edit them. I have checked the properties of that file. There file type is Shortcut and target is \windows\regsvrce.exe CremePie.dll.
Can any body please tell me how to edit this file or can we create this file.
Regards
MurthyHi,
for that I use the software "total commander" from http://www.ghisler.com/ running directly on the PDA. This gives me the ability to edit the file on the PDA.
Please see if REGSVRCE.EXE is available in your windows directory. Some verndors do not deliver that file, cause it is not supported as standard CE file. If this is the case, download the .NET SDK for CE. This installs the file on the PC in the WINCE500 directory - you can download it from there to the device then.
I hope this helps to solve the issue!

I am having an issue with ITunes after a recent ITunes update. I can not open ITunes, I get a message missing MSVCR80.dll file, Then an error 7 message. I have redone the OS for Windows 7 and restarted the computer. I keep getting the errors.
Do the following:
Uninstall from Windows the following five programs: iTunes, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour and Apple Application Support. You do this from an applet in Control Panel called Programs & Features (in Windows 8, 7, or Vista) or Add or Remove Programs (in Windows XP).
Download the latest version of iTunes from Apple and note the location you're saving it to so you can find it once it's done.
Run the iTunes installation as an administrator, just Right click iTunes installer and Run as Administrator. -
How to call function in included dll file through java application.
Hi All,
i am trying to create an java application which call c# functions using JNI. i am completed with the code and it is running fine when i tried to run from netbeans IDE. But when i tried from Calculator.jar file, first time it throws this error:

at calculator.CalculatorApp.<clinit>(CalculatorApp.java:20)
After that i included that dll file in the cuurent directory. And compiled and tried to run, it throws an unexpected error:
F:\JavaProjects\Calculator\dist>Java -jar Calculator.jar

Anyone have idea how to solve this error.
Thanks in advance.This error is created whenever things go sour on the native side. The first thing you can try, and I assume you are using a Java<->C++<->C# bridge which includes two dlls, one created by C++ and another by C#. Is to make sure that the C# dll is compiled using /t:module switch during compilation.
If you are using VS2008, or VS2005, you can add a post build syntax like:
csc /t:module /out:"$(ProjectDir)$(OutDir)YourModule.dll" "$(ProjectDir)YourCSfile.cs"
Hope this helps! If not, ensure first that the native code works by creating a native test app for it. -

I want to run this server app on the client server and the basic thing with this site is that it is running on .net platform(Microsoft). and the other app ll running on the client machine or end user. Now the problem is that this site would run only if the server app ll be run on server. This server app ll open the socket of server, which ll listen the request of the user...... So, the requirement is to convert this java sever class file into dll file and register this dll file with the IIS server.So, It run and stop with the IIS server.
I ve already search the way to convert the java class file into dll file. This is possible in such way........... below code is for the java class file...

import java.util.*;
public class chatServer
public static void main(String args[]) throws Exception
ServerSocket sersoc=new ServerSocket(1234);// Any port number above 1000 should do

String data="";int i,j=0;
BufferedReader in;
//System.out.println("Listening of port " + sersoc.getLocalPort());
//System.out.println("Waiting for connections...");

Socket soc=sersoc.accept();
socvec.addElement(soc);
chatServerReadThread csrt=new chatServerReadThread(socvec, soc);

PrintStream out=new PrintStream(soc.getOutputStream());
out.println("Connected to chat server");
out.flush();
data= in.readLine();
for(i=0;i<socvec.size();i++)
soc=(Socket)socvec.elementAt(i);
out=new PrintStream(soc.getOutputStream());
out.println(data + " connected");

first i ve made the jar file of this class
jar cvf chatServer.jar chatServer.classafter getting the jar chatServer.jar. I ve opened the .net dos prompt and
type this command which ll make dll file automatically....
> jbimp /t:library chatServer.jar
And you'll see the following output:

I cant get the problem origin from where it is comming, when i tried to convert it into .dll file it shown an error that, it did not recongnized the method in first class
public static void chatServerReadThread.start() method
is not recognized by .net dos prompt commnad. But when i omit this method it gets created the .dll file. This start method is basically the default method of thread class that run the thread from the same class..
By vewing the code u can visulize the thing,, i ve marked the code from where the error is comming.
Plz do it as soon as possible, i ll waiting for ur reply......

How to add dll file in a Jar to create executable file
Hi All!
I have one Java file which use one Jar file & three dll file.
I create jar file as described in java tutorial
http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/deployment/jar/appman.html
1) I created Manifiest.txt by writting :
Class-Path: C:\Flasher\jflashtrial\JFlash.jar
Main-Class: Flaher2
2) I create jar file by:
jar cfm MyJar.jar Manifest.txt *.class
It create MyJar.jar successfully.
After that I used Jar2Exe Wizard to create Myjar.exe
It also create MyJar.exe file, but when I tried to open It , It did open & also didn't give any error message too.
Before this I created one exe file by the same way except; that file does not using any dll or jar file so for that I create my jar file by simply without using Manifest.txt
I wrote:
jar cf MyJar.jar *.class
After that I creat it's exe bu using Jar2Exe, It create its exe file & it's work well.
So for my next try with one jar file & three dll file, what is wrong ?
I saved my exe jar file & dll filea file in a same folder. But still have a problem .
What I did wrong/skip in creating Jar file.
Your any help regarding this topic would be appreciated
KirtiHello,
Getting all of this to work right is a bit of a challenge. I haven't used jar2exe at all, but we have a number of native libraries that we support that have to use dll's. I would recommend adding a static initializer like
public class flup {
static {
try {
System.loadLibrary("flup"); // will look for flup.dll in the %PATH%
} catch (Exception e) {
e.printStackTrace();
This should give you a little more information about what is failing. Chances are the dll's are not in the PATH. You may be able to get around this by using regsvr32 to register the Dll's but I have had mixed results with that solution.
You also may be able to write a simple c++ program that uses the dll's (or maybe you already know of one) and use the "depends.exe" program from Microsoft's Platform SDK to examine the full dll dependency tree if you continue to have problems.
Best of Luck,

Photoshop CC 2014 Crashes When Opening or Saving PNG Files
I'm having an issue where opening or saving PNG files causes my copy of Photoshop CC 2014 to crash.
I've updated to the latest version, restarted my computer and have no plugins installed. I have also re-installed the program from the Creative Cloud application, although I haven't tried a full uninstall/reinstall sequence.
I'm running an x64 version of Windows and have tried both the 64 and 32 bit versions of Photoshop - neither works.
Other file formats don't appear to cause any issue - the problem is specific to PNG files (does Adobe Photoshop depend on any PNG library like LibPNG? Perhaps an older version has been installed by a different application?)
This issue seems to have occured in the past on the Adobe forums, but there is no clear resolution.Part of the information is missing but your running CC 14.1.2 not CC 2014, and14.1.2 needs to be updated to 14.2.1. I also can not see the date of you video drivers. Here is what my CC 2014 and my 14.2.1 looks like

How do I open .dll files automatically with Adobe Reader through Firefox?
Hi,
When I print eBay labels through Firefox, a .dll file is downloaded. This used to open automatically in Adobe Reader, but now it opens as a text document in TextEdit, so I have to manually open Adobe Reader, change options to show "all files", and then locate the .dll file and open it.
When I try to change the default application in Firefox preferences, I can't find anything with the content type "dll".
Is there a way to have Firefox automatically open .dll files with Adobe Reader?
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!
SteveThat worked, thank you!
I quit out of Firefox, renamed the file like you said, restarted my computer, and restarted Firefox.
When I went to download a label, Firefox asked me which application to use, and I picked Adobe Reader. I also checked the box to make that the default. This automatically opened the file in AR, and then when I did it the next time it worked perfectly.
Again, thank you so much for your help with this - although it's just a bit of time here and there saved it really adds up!
Take care!
-Steve -
How to include a Plugin (dll file) in a program
How would I go about utilizing a plugin in my program. By this I mean...lets say that there is an online program for which you have to install the plugin onto your computer in order to use the program. How could I include that plugin into a program that can be used offline, or placed into an online applet, so that other people dont have to download that plugin.
Basically...I want to know how to put a plugin into my program so that no one else has to download it. Instead they just use the program, which includes the plugin.
And just so you all know, the plugin is a *.dll file. Could I just put it in an online folder, and cal to it when it is needed??
Thanks in advance.I apologize, but I am confused because I am not that good at this. How would I refer to it? I do not know how to write a java function so that it will call a .dll file. Also, Im not quite sure what to do when I do call it. Here is specifically what I am trying to do. The plugin that I am trying to use is a download plugin. It is used because some people use a program to upload/protect their files, and the only way to download the files is to use the plugin or the program. The thing that I am confused about is how I use the plugin in my program so that the website I want to download from sees that I have the plugin and allows me to download the files I want by using the plugin which I have stored online. Im sure that the website that I am downloading from checks to see if I have the plugin installed, so how do I make it look at the one that I have online and not search for it on my computer??? PLEASE HELP ME!!! i know that people do things like this all the time, but I am new and need a lot of help.

Hi,
I have an application which has one piece of java code which is built into a DLL file. This java code basically has code to connect to the database using JDBC thin driver. I want my applet to load a C library (a .dll file). But when i execute it, it throws a SecurityException.
I tried to modify the java.policy file, but it dint work.
I also tried to sign the Applet, but it did not work.
Maybe i did something wrong.
My applet have only this method:
public void init()
try {
System.loadLibrary("library");
catch(Exception e) {}
The library is in c:\windows, and the applet is loaded via web.
If anybody knows a way to do it, please tell me.
Thanks in advance, el tanoCould you post the full text of the error message?
And also the entry in you .java.policy file that gives permission.
Are you sure the policy file you changed is being used?
How did you make the changes to the policy file? -
WebUtil DLL files location with OAS v10.1.2.3 with Sun Java 1.5
Question about the future Client (under MS Vista) which works with OAS.
With MS Vista on the client, the certified versions are:-
-Clientside: Sun Java 1.5_10 and above
-OAS: v10.1.2.3 (apparently to be released in March 2008)
See table and notes at
http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/htdocs/10gr2/clientsod_forms10gr2.html
Our application uses Oracle Web Util 1.0.6.
When this first starts up the server attempts to copy three DLLs (jacob.dll JNIsharedstubs.dll d2kwut60.dll ) to a particular directory (eg c:\program files\oracle\J-Initiator 1.3.1.18\bin ).
This has been a problem for my company's infrastructure since that directory is not writeable for most end-users. We got round the problem by creating a script run just once by the end-user which placed the DLL files in position before application is first run. The application still tries so copy the files, and fails - but this does not matter.
In the MS Vista client envt we will have the Sun Java 1.5 client instead of the J-Initiator.
Is it clear into which directory those three DLL files will be placed with this new client-side setup?
Thanks.

user451945Hello Jacob,
Oracle itself can fix the WebUtil issue with downloading DLLs to an appropriate location. However, there's more to running a Forms application on Vista - some of which Sun needs to find a solution for:
If Vista's User Account Control (UAC) feature is activated - which it is by default and which provides additional security compared to XP - Internet Explorer runs in protected mode, i.e. the iexplore.exe process is started with a LOW integrity level. In Vista every securable operating system "object" is assigned an integrity level - process, files, directories etc. each have an integrity level which can have the values low, normal / user, high / administrator or system. Every process started by a normal user will be assigned normal / user integrity level on process creation and thus is able to access all the files to which the user has access rights. The exception to the rule is Internet Explorer which is started with a low integrity level so if any malware / Javascript / IE extension takes control over Internet Explorer it cannot access any files or directories outside of its low integrity level "jail" because process with a lower integrity level aren't allowed to access any objects which have a higher integrity level. This means any program - including the Java plugin and any applet whether signed or not - which runs inside the iexplore.exe process cannot communicate with any process the user started (think about WebUtil's OLE2 to communicate with Office applications) and it cannot download any files to a user-specified directory (think of WebUtil's download features or even client_textio). Furthermore any processes you start e.g. through WebUtil's client_host command will inherit IE's low process integrity level and thus will not be able to do anything meaningful either. The same goes for your own DLLs which run within iexplore.exe.
Java 1.6 Update N will change the Java plugin architecture so that the Java runtime will execute in its own process with a normal / user integrity level and communicate with Internet Explorer via IPC instead of running within the internet explorer process. If you need more information look at the early access release of Update N:
https://jdk6.dev.java.net/6uNea.html#Overview
I think it would help if you also opened an SR so Oracle support knows there are more customers waiting for a solution.
Best regard
Andreas

Applets and accessing files confusion
Hi
I am confused about applets and their abilty to access files.
I know that applets cannot access files on a users hard drive until given pemission but if i design an applet that needs access to files on the server where it is running will it be able to read and write those files in the same location as the applet without the need to set permissions?
Any feedback would be great
NeilThe applet is very much able to read files from the server. This is easiest done by creating a URL and opening a stream to it:
URL url = new URL(getCodeBase(), "file.dat");
InputStream in = url.openStream();
// read from the stream...
in.close();
Saving files to the server is also possible without setting permissions but it's a bit harder. In short, you need some sort of server that accepts a connection and saves what you send it to disk. The server can be eg. a servlet, a database or a FTP server. -
Applepushservice.dll file - can I get this somewhere?
I upgraded to iTunes 10.6 (Windows Vista 32-bit) and since then, cannot access iTunes. Got the following error message:
This application has failed to start because ApplePushService.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
Clicked OK on that window and get another window:
iTunes was not installed correctly. Please re-install iTunes.
Error 7 (Windows error 126).
Since that happened, I have followed the advice I got here and from Apple's support files, which was to delete every Apple program from my computer, re-boot, and then re-install iTunes. I have done that 5 times over the past few days and still get the error message. I am completely stuck.
My question is, can I download this file somewhere? I can't find any information on doing that on the Apple support site.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.I’m running Windows 7 (Ultimate - 64bits) and was keep on getting “ApplePushService.dll was not found” , “iTunes was not installed correctly. Please re-install iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126)” error, right after upgrading from iTunes 10.5.3 to its 10.6.1.7 version, no matter how many times I had the whole Apple’s products uninstalled and re-installed over and over, it just didn’t work!
Short answer:
Removed my “Emsisoft anti-malware” (I didn’t bother to go and add some exception rule or possible workaround within the app, just removed it totally!. In your case, it might be any other anti-malware software)
Longer answer, “how did I do it?” method:
So I looked for “ApplePushService.dll” file online and after getting its MD5 (2F9BC257E314003FF0C332583C4F36C8) could get a copy of it from the net but after placing it in “C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\” it was getting removed automatically and instantly by an application without even giving any warning about its possible security issue.
Prior to this head ache I had all following applications running on my system;
1: Avira anti-virus (FREE edition) 2: COMODO firewall 3: Emsisoft anti-malware 4:Windows firewall 5:Windows Defender
So started by removing “Avira” and setting both Windows Firewall and Defender to OFF and still no luck, story short, after removing “Emsisoft Anti-Malware” and rebooting the PC and then replacing “ApplePushService.dll” in its designated folder, everything was back to normal!
I hope it’s been helpful to you guys out there and saved you from an unavoidable sleepless-night!
