Application Express will not install

OK - I have been working on this for days now. I downloaded Oracle Database 11g and installed the "standard" version. All seems to be working OK and I can connect to the DB using SYS as SYSDBA.
Next, downloaded Apex 3.2 and unzipped it into a separate directory (C:\TEMP\APEX). Tried to run through the installation instructions for Apex but continually can't get passed the @apexins section. I run SQL*Plus, log in as SYS as SYSDBA, and run @c:\temp\apex\apexins SYSAUX SYSAUX TEMP /i/ per the instructions. The SQL*Plus window flashes some messages then closes. The user APEX_030200 is not created (FLOWS_FILES and APEX_PUBLIC_USER already exist because 11g comes with earlier version of Apex). Can't continue from here - can't set the ADMIN password as the @apxchpwd script errors out with:
...changing password for ADMIN
wwv_flow_security.g_security_group_id := 10;
ERROR at line 3:
ORA-06550: line 3, column 5:
PLS-00201: identifier 'WWV_FLOW_SECURITY.G_SECURITY_GROUP_ID' must be declared
ORA-06550: line 3, column 5:
PL/SQL: Statement ignored
etc.
I also tried copying the whole "apex" directory from c:\temp over the "apex" directory in the 11g directory structure and running the install. Same results.
Can anyone help please??

On Windows:
1. Click on the Start button and then click Run
2. Change to directory where you unzipped the Apex. E.g. c:\apex
3. Then execute:
sqlplus /nolog
connect sys as sysdba
type the password
4. Select the appropriate instalation:
Example:
@apexins SYSAUX SYSAUX TEMP /i/
5. When you to run the apex_epg_config.sql ensure this:
On Windows:
@apex_epg_config SYSTEM_DRIVE:\TEMP
Replace SYSTEM_DRIVE:\TEMP by C:
Then result is:
@apex_epg_config C:

Chris in your Windows VM have you tried downloading and installing the Adobe Application Manager from https://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4773?
Also have you already installed the Adobe Application Manager on your host system of Mac OS?

  • Application Manager Will Not Install

I recently purchased - about a month ago - the creative cloud and the application manager initially downloaded and installed with no issues. While some of the programs like Illustrator, In-Design, Lightroom and Premier Pro would not download or install onto my computer, I didn't mind at the moment because Photoshop and Dreamweaver worked fined and those were the two applications I used to the most.
However, after once again trying to install the other applications, which failed, I unistalled the application manager with the hopes that a reinstallation would solve the problem.
    It made the problem worse.
Now the application manager won't even download and install as it nearly finishes downloading when an error message problem pops up with only a link to the customer support area.
Needless to say this is extremely frustrating as I was very excited to finally be able to afford the adobe programs as new student to interactive media design, but it is now just runing my creative flow!
I hope there is a way to fix this because I really want to start using the applications as soon as possible.
    Thanks for any help

Lets try two steps to fix the problem.
First run the Adobe Cleaner Tool.
You can download it from here http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html.
In the drop-down in the top right select Creative Cloud and then highlight Creative Cloud Installer.
Now click on the Cleanup selected button.
Next install the Adobe Application Manager (AAM) for Windows.
You can get it from here http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4773 (For a Mac OS X customer reading this post use http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4774).
Launch AAM and sign in with your Adobe ID.
You should now be able to install the programs you want. If this does not work I will ask for some log files which can be sent to the AAM team for investigation.

Forget about the software on the disc. Use the AirPort software in the /Applications/Utilities directory on your MacBook Pro.

    Hello Mike,
Can you clarify the OS version first? What is Windows 7 XP 64bit Service Pack 1? It is Win 7 or Win XP?
Condition '(VersionNT = v6.3) AND (WindowsBuildNumber < 9600)' evaluates to false
Condition 'VersionNT < v6.3' evaluates to true
I checked here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_NT to see those NT versions and find that v6.3 means Win 8 version.
So please notice that " Visual Studio Express for Windows " is for Store Apps and Phone Apps, they required Win 8 or higher version OS. Win 7 or Win XP does not meet the requirements for this kind of VS.
If you just want to develop normal version, please choose to use Visual Studio 2013 Express for Windows Desktop.
    Best regards,
    Barry

  • Syncing iPhone - applications will not install message

After some trouble with my two month old iPhone4S I did a Master reset after a full backup. Now when I want to restore the application most of them (not all) will not install on the phone. Doing them one by one looks good in iTunes but on the phone I get the message "Application 'xxx' will not install". Any ideas on how to proceed?

If that's my only option then I may just buy it from the App Store and see if that works. It would cost me at least that in gas to get to my "local" Apple store. It just seems weird to me. All of a sudden iPhoto and iMovie stop working. I completely reset my macbook and I still get the same error. I've done the "Hardware Test" and the DVD looks flawless. I'm really just throwing my hands up.

You probably need to either uninstall and reinstall itunes or to download the apple application support by itself
you can download the itunes http://www.apple.com/itunes/ here
then to do a complete uninstall / reinstall follow these instructions http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923
you could also use 7zip to extract the individual installer for apple application support from the itunes setup file http://www.7-zip.org

I have had this problem for close to a year. I have an Extreme base station, two Airport Express's and multiple G4 Mac's with up to date software. I have spent a huge amount of time trouble shooting, resetting, reapplying software and finally calling Applecare without any help. It would be great to get this problem solved.

  • Logic Express 9 will not install.

    Hi all,
I just bought a Macbook Pro 17" with Logic Express 9 and the program will not install and comes up with with "Errors where detected and installation has stopped. Contact the manufacture." It would get through to about 20 - 30% when it fails.
I have updated my mac with all the latest updates and I have only installed Adobe CS3 Master collection. CS3 did not install with succsses either and Encore failed to install. To be honest CS3 I have found never installs like it should so that does not seem out of the norm (Although it should be Adobe).

    Hi There.
Did you manage to get this sorted? I have just bought a brand new Mac myself and cannot install Logic Express 8!
I have limited connectivity to the internet and don't know what to do.
If yo sorted the problem, would be great to know how you did it!
    Cheers

  • Applications will not install

A few days ago my iphoto stopped working. I did a complete factory reset on my macbook (10.6.8) and now the applications on the "Applications Install DVD" will not install. • Simply will not install! Please help...

    Hello guys.
Recently managed to buy myself a new MacPro and have given my old PowerMac G4 (AGP Graphics) to my daughter to work with while at university on her Art course.
This original machine (with a bus speed of 100) has been upgraded so that it now has the following specs:
    Machine Name: Power Mac G4
    Machine Model: PowerMac3,3
    CPU Type: PowerPC G4 (3,3)
    Number of CPUs: 1
    CPU Speed: 1.2GHz
L2 Cache (per CPU): 256 KB
    L3 Cache (per CPU): 2MB
    Memory: 1.31 GB
    Bus Speed: 100 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: 4.2.8f1
It also has a RADEON 9200 Graphics Card.
Bought FCE for her to start her editing... but it simply will not instal. It WILL install the accomp[anying "Live Type" and "Soundtrack" applications perfectly, but the "Final Cut Express" application remains dimmed out when running the installer from the disks.
Have I overlooked something in the specs and done something horribly stupid?
Any help you can offer would be mightily, mightily appreciated. Thank you.

You don't say what the Operating System is.
It should be at least OSX 10.4.6 and QuickTime 7.0.4.
    Ian.
SORRY ! I have just noticed the 10.4.9 at the bottom of your post.

I am trying to use and education program that needs Java applets and it will not run on Safari. IE will not install from the web. How do I get a browser that will work to install so I can use this program when I travel.

Try using FireFox. IE will only run on a Mac if you run Windows on the Mac.
    Windows on Intel Macs
There are presently several alternatives for running Windows on Intel Macs.
Install the Apple Boot Camp software.  Purchase Windows 7 or Windows 8.  Follow instructions in the Boot Camp documentation on installation of Boot Camp, creating Driver CD, and installing Windows.  Boot Camp enables you to boot the computer into OS X or Windows.
Parallels Desktop for Mac and Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7.  Parallels is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
VM Fusion and Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7.  VM Fusion is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
CrossOver which enables running many Windows applications without having to install Windows.  The Windows applications can run concurrently with OS X.
VirtualBox is a new Open Source freeware virtual machine such as VM Fusion and Parallels that was developed by Solaris.  It is not as fully developed for the Mac as Parallels and VM Fusion.
Note that Parallels and VM Fusion can also run other operating systems such as Linux, Unix, OS/2, Solaris, etc.  There are performance differences between dual-boot systems and virtualization.  The latter tend to be a little slower (not much) and do not provide the video performance of the dual-boot system. See MacTech.com's Virtualization Benchmarking for comparisons of Boot Camp, Parallels, and VM Fusion. A more recent comparison of Parallels, VM Fusion, and Virtual Box is found at Virtualization Benchmarks- Parallels 10 vs. Fusion 7 vs. VirtualBox. Boot Camp is only available with Leopard and later. Except for Crossover and a couple of similar alternatives like DarWine you must have a valid installer disc for Windows.
You must also have an internal optical drive for installing Windows. Windows cannot be installed from an external optical drive.
