Apprehensions about CRM

Hi Experts,
I am very new to SAP having 3+ years of only domain experience and have decided to shift to SAP and recently completed my SAP CRM Training.
I have few apprehensions on CRM modules. I chose CRM because it covers all almost all processes of Sales and Marketing and which is involved in my current job.
Is it advisable to also learn SD-Module after learning CRM?
Does industry prefer to chose a CRM consultant without any thorough knowledge on SD Module. Is it mandatory in the industry to learn SD module before you do CRM?
Appreciate your honest answers and suggestions if you have any.
Thanks!
Wregs,
Zo.

Hi Shantala,
Thats a better suggestion! Thanks!! I shall follow the same.
I have one more big question to add. Since I recently completed my training in CRM, to enhance my skills I want to do a project on what I have learnt. I have on my mind, my current company's structure and processes to work as a project as I know my company and my job well.
But I am unaware of the real-time implementation processes etc. and to be market equivalent , real-time knowledge is a must to crack the interview.
Hence could you kindly suggest how can I start my project work as per the real-time process. Could you also let me know what happens in real-time whenever a new project starts, could you suggest some documents  on the same focusing on CRM implementation on various industries.
And what do companies expect from a fresh consultant with domain knowledge?
Appreciate your response.

One thing that is mentioned, but not really emphasized, is that the zooming when opening and closing Apps is now gone when the reduce motion setting is enabled. I guess too many people where claiming sea sickness and Apple wanted to avoid lawsuits.
Now the nay sayers will have to refocus their efforts and complain about the font and the icons.

I see there is another ios update. I have an iPhone 4S. The last time I updated the ios I lost all my contacts, as I had not been using the iCloud as a backup. I am now apprehensive about the latest update. How can I determine if contacts are backed up?

You should never lose contacts under any circumstances.
Although contacts are included with the iPhone's backup, contacts are designed to be synced with a supported address book app on your computer where such important data should be available with or without an iPhone or any cell phone. Not a good idea to depend on a cell phone for such important data which can be lost or stolen or damaged beyond repair.
In addition, there are a number of free email accounts that support syncing contacts over the air including an iCloud account, Gmail, Yahoo, and Hotmail.
If you are not syncing contacts over the air with an iCloud account and not backing up your iPhone wirelessly with your iCloud account, your iPhone's backup is being updated by iTunes on your computer which is updated as the first step during the iTunes sync process.
With Windoze, contacts can be synced with Outlook 2003, 2007, or 2010 along with syncing calendar events, notes, and reminders, or with the address book app used by Outlook Express and by Windows Mail called Windows Contacts for syncing contacts only. With a Mac, contacts can be synced with the Address Book app. This is selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.
If the supported address book app on your computer is not used and has no contacts available, before the first sync for this data enter one contact in the supported address book app on your computer. This will provide a merge prompt with the first sync for this data, which you want to select.

I appreciate the prompt response.  Having read several threads, you can appreciate why I would be hesistant to upgrade to the Lion.  All I basically use is Office for Mac and the other basic functions such as email/calendar/address/contacts...etc. I have read horror stories about peoples stuff dissapearing into cyberspace and obvi dont want that to happen.
That's all nonsense. Most people don't post anything if they don't have any problems. People who do have problems usually have very specific reasons for them that they have caused themselves.

  • I want to upgrade from Tiger to Snow Leopard...I'm apprehensive about Lion.

I've been hearing so many "glitch" anecdotes about Lion. Until these problems are resolved
I want to upgrade from Tiger to Snow Leopard but I'll be buying a new Apple computer to
    do that..
I presently have a a 10.4 iMAC with only 2.33 GB of memory and I'm getting a new puter
in order to have 4 GB. Is it recommended to use Lion with a new Apple computer or can I use
Snow Leopard without missing out on anything? Are the stories about Lion just the usual thing
that always happens with a new upgrade? Tiger has worked perfectly for me for 6 years but that
has been on computer that is 6 years old. (POWERPC) Does a new iMAC computer with intel
require the latest operating system to work at top efficiency? Is my apprehension about Lion
an over reaction to anecdotal info?

Some of this is answered best by knowing what model computers are involved. If you are truly getting a brand new (as opposed to a newer used) computer then it will likely come with Lion installed, unless there's some old stock (which even then would have Lion installed but could still run under Snow Leopard which you would have to buy separately).  Macs will normally only run the version system that comes installed, or newer, so if you are getting a brand new Mac you won't have any choice but to run Lion (or its successors). It won't run Snow Leopard unless it is a new used computer.
As for Lion stories, those would best be answered on the Lion forum. I still run Tiger which I why I'm on this forum.  There's always issues with any upgrade.  For me the biggest drawback to Lion is all my software is PPC generation and Lion stopped supporting PPC completely. If I got a brand new computer I would also have to upgrade all my software which could easily run to over a thousand dollars more.

  • The BCB/ICI veision about CRM 2007 J2EE engine

    Hi,everyone :
I don't install the java WAS . So could anyone who installed the CRM 2007 J2EE engine tell me the BCB/ICI veision .Thanks .
The url is like this :
    http://<server>:<port>/bcb/bcbadmStart.jsp
        click 'System Information'.
    Thanks very much.

    Hello
    Please, check [SAP Note 1268057|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1268057]
Since CRM5.0, the ICI is implemented by non-java option (ABAP). Basically, non-java option means MCM/BCB/ICI code in CRM server is on ABAP (including how to configure the connection to the simulator via transaction CRMM_BCB_ADM).
Other related application, such as CCSUI, is a java application but it has nothing to do with setting up the connection via the bcb setting when we run non-java.
So, it means, IC Web client/CRM uses the ABAP stack to implement ICI features, so you don't need to care about BCB Admin for java.
Another important feature is that as of ICI 3.02, the WSDL files are generated automatically, you don't have to generate them manually.
    I hope this info helps
    Joaquin
