Approval process creation steps using JDeveloper in OIM 11g R2

Hi,
Please help me to create approval process creation using JDeveloper and how to use the approval process in OIM provision in OIM 11g R2.
Thanks in Advace,
srini

refer developer's guide to get the detailed steps. http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E27559_01/dev.1112/e27150/request.htm#BABFFJDH
Also refer OBE tutorial http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/fmw/oim/oim_11g/Custom_Approval_Process_for_Resource_Request/custom_approval_process_for_resource_provision.htm#t3
There will be slight changes in the steps as this OBE is for 11gR1.
High level steps:
Create a new application using the following command
ant -f <OIM_HOME>/server/workflows/new-workflow/new_project.xml.
It will be created in OIM_HOME/workflows/new-workflow/process-template/ directory
Openthe .jws file in jdeveloper and edit the default human task and add whatever logic is needed.
Then deploy the composite after which you need to create an approval policy and link the SOA composite created

  • Creation of a Request in OIM 11G using API's

    Hi Friends,
    I am trying to create a request using OIM 11g API's.
    I am trying to do this for EBS Responsibility resource and this resource has a request dataset has EBS-IT-Resource-Instance, application name, responsibility name, start date and security group. Please note application name, responsibility name, start date and security group are in child form.
    I am trying to populate the request dataset using the below code.
    List<RequestBeneficiaryEntityAttribute> entityAttrList;
    RequestBeneficiaryEntity entity = null;
    entityAttrList = new ArrayList<RequestBeneficiaryEntityAttribute>();
    entity = new RequestBeneficiaryEntity();
    tcITResourceInstanceOperationsIntf tcITResourceIntf = Platform.getService(tcITResourceInstanceOperationsIntf.class);
    HashMap searchcriteria = new HashMap<String, String>();
    searchcriteria.put("IT Resources.Name", "EBSHF-APPS12");
    tcResultSet resultSet = tcITResourceIntf.findITResourceInstances(searchcriteria);
    long itResourceKey=resultSet.getLongValue("IT Resources.Key");
    entityAttrList.add(this.getAttrLong("eBusiness Suite Instance Name",itResourceKey));
    entityAttrList.add(this.getAttr("Application Name","3~300"));
    entityAttrList.add(this.getAttr("Responsibility Name", "3~300~52281"));
    entityAttrList.add(this.getAttr("Security Group", "3~0"));
    entity.setEntityKey(getResourceKey("Oracle eBusiness Responsibility"));
    entity.setEntityType(RequestConstants.RESOURCE);
    entity.setEntitySubType("Oracle eBusiness Responsibility");
    entity.setEntityData(entityAttrList);
    private RequestBeneficiaryEntityAttribute getAttr(String name, String value)
    RequestBeneficiaryEntityAttribute attr = null;
    attr = new RequestBeneficiaryEntityAttribute(name, value, RequestBeneficiaryEntityAttribute.TYPE.String);
    return attr;
    private RequestBeneficiaryEntityAttribute getAttrLong(String name, long value)
    RequestBeneficiaryEntityAttribute attr = null;
    attr = new RequestBeneficiaryEntityAttribute(name, value, RequestBeneficiaryEntityAttribute.TYPE.Long);
    return attr;
    My code is working fine and a request is getting created. But when I try to open the request dataset(object form) for the newly created request, I am getting null exceptions.
    If I did not populate the fields that are in the child form application name, responsibility name and security group which are highlighted above, then I am able to view the form with the correct IT-Resource-Instance name after request creation.
    So, I am thinking I am doing something wrong while populating child form data in the request dataset.
    Can you please provide me some code snippet to populate the child using 11G API'S?

    Hi Bikash,
    After referring your code, i made changes in mine. Here is my updated code.
    RequestBeneficiaryEntityAttribute parantAttr=null;
    List<RequestBeneficiaryEntityAttribute> entityAttrList;
    RequestBeneficiaryEntity entity = null;
    entity = new RequestBeneficiaryEntity();
    parantAttr=this.getAttrLong("eBusiness Suite Instance Name", itResourceKey);
    RequestBeneficiaryEntityAttribute mid1 = new RequestBeneficiaryEntityAttribute();
    List <RequestBeneficiaryEntityAttribute> childAttributesList = new ArrayList<RequestBeneficiaryEntityAttribute>();
    childAttributesList.add(this.getAttr("Application Name", "3~555"));
    childAttributesList.add(this.getAttr("Responsibility Name", "3~555~22862"));
    childAttributesList.add(this.getAttr("Security Group", "3~0"));
    mid1.setChildAttributes(childAttributesList);
    mid1.setAction(RequestBeneficiaryEntityAttribute.ACTION.Add);
    entityAttrList = new ArrayList<RequestBeneficiaryEntityAttribute>();
    entityAttrList.add(parantAttr);
    entityAttrList.add(mid1);
    But when I try to run this, it is getting failed saying "RequestServiceException: IAM-2050033:Invalid attribute name null. No corresponding reference was found in the data set ProvisionResourceOracle eBusiness Responsibility".
    Here is my request data set for your reference.

    </AttributeReference>
    I am not sure why it is not referencing to the attribute. In your blog, it is saying your code is to set process form. But i am trying to create a request using API's. so, I need some code snippet to populate request dataset. Do you think, this will serve both?
    Thanks for your help.

  • Approval Process in SSHR using Approval Management

    Could any one suggest for the below mentioned issue ?
    I have set up the approval process using approval management. But when I tried to test the approval process in both the ways ('Create a test transaction' and 'View a real transaction's approval process), I am receiving different error messages.
    1. if I test by using 'View a real transaction's approval process'
    receiving the error message saying "ORA-20001: The attribute TRANSACTION_REQUESTOR_PERSON_ID probably has an invalid query string. The attribute caused the following exception:
    -972
    ORA-00972: identifier is too long"
    2. if I test by using 'create a test creation' receiving error message as "ORA-20001: Casey Browning (Browning, Doctor Casey) lacks a supervisor, so OAM cannot complete the chain of authority for the transaction"
    What am i missing in the setups ?
    which way is the recommended way to test the process ?
    Your response is more appreciated.
    Regards
    Jhansi

    For you to test Approvals, you have to setup a number of things;
    1. Supervisor Hierarchy (If using that as hierarchy)
    2. Job Levels (If using Job-level approvals)
    3. New rules for SSHR functions.
    The getApprStartingPointPersonId function returns the starting point person ID for the transaction in the HR_API_TRANSACTIONS table. It uses that to traverse the supervisor hierarchy based on the approval.
    Hope this helps.

  • Direct provisioing using API in OIM 11g

    Hi Experts,
    I am facing couple of issues.
    *1)* I am trying to provision a resource direcly using API's in OIM 11g. Here I do not have any object form for this resource but I have a process form with some pre-population adapters.
    And I am trying to use the below code for direct provisioining.
    Hashtable objectHash = new Hashtable();
    objectHash.put("Objects.Name", objectName);
    tcResultSet objectResultSet = objIntf.findObjects(objectHash);
    long objectKey = objectResultSet.getLongValue("Objects.Key");
    com.thortech.xl.vo.ResourceData data = userIntf.provisionResource(userKey, objectKey);
    long userObjectInstanceKey = Long.parseLong(data.getOiuKey());
    long objectInstanceKey = Long.parseLong(data.getObiKey());
    And I am getting nulls for the attributes userObjectInstanceKey & objectInstanceKey .
    Please let me know how to provision a resource which has no object form but has some pre-population adapters using API .
    *2)* I am trying to provision a resource direcly using API's in OIM 11g. Here I do have an object form for this resource which has one of the attribute as of type lookup.
    ResourceData data = userIntf.provisionResource(userKey, resourceKey);
    long userObjectInstanceKey = Long.parseLong(data.getOiuKey());
    long objectInstanceKey = Long.parseLong(data.getObiKey());
    Hashtable objectHash = new Hashtable();
    objectHash.put("UD_ADGROUP_NAME",groupName);
    In this case I am getting objectInstanceKey properly but it is not seeting lookup field value but it is setting all other fields on the object form correctly.
    How to set a field of type lookup on the object form while provisioing a resource directly using API's.
    Thanks a lot for your help.

    Hi Pallavi,
    I am not populating any object form. I am trying for direct provisioning a resource thru OIM API's.
    Hence, I need populate all of the process form fields inorder to skip the approval flow. So, I was using setProcessFormData method.
    Here is what happening.
    1) My resource has a request dataset which has only one field called "Group Name".
    2) My resource has a process form with the fields name UD_GROUP_NAME, UD_GROUP_DESCRIPTION, UD_GROUP_OWNER.
    3) When I use the below code, I was able to populate the fields UD_GROUP_DESCRIPTION, UD_GROUP_OWNER (Because pre-populate adapters are getting invoked) as they did not exist on the request data.
    tcFormInstanceOperationsIntf formInstanceOps=Platform.getService(tcFormInstanceOperationsIntf.class);
    ResourceData data = userIntf.provisionResource(userKey, resourceKey);
    long userObjectInstanceKey = Long.parseLong(data.getOiuKey());
    long objectInstanceKey = Long.parseLong(data.getObiKey());
    Hashtable objectHash = new Hashtable();
    objectHash.put("*UD_ADGROUP_NAME*",groupName);
    formInstanceOps.setProcessFormData(objectInstanceKey, objectHash);
    4) I am having this issue only with the fields that are exist on the request dataset. Since, UD_GROUP_NAME exist on the request dataset, even if I try to set some value in the process form, it is not taking.
    Using API's, I am not able to populate any of the attributes on the process form that are exist on the request dataset.
    How to solve this issue.1. Check the process form field name.
    2. Use tcUserOperationsIntfAPI Method provisionObject(userKey,ObjectKey)
    userIntf.provisionObject(userKey, objectKey);
    3. Get the process-instance key.
    tcResultSet objResultSet = userIntf.getObjects(userKey);
                   int objCount = objResultSet.getRowCount();
                   for (int count = 0; count < objCount; count++) {
                        objResultSet.goToRow(count);
                        if (objResultSet.getStringValue("Objects.Name").equalsIgnoreCase(resourceObjectName)){
                             processInstanceKey = objResultSet.getLongValue("Process Instance.Key");
    4. Use tcFormInstanceOperationsIntf API method setProcesFormData(processInstanceKey,dataMap)
    Hope this helps you.

    You can re-visit access policy It will have the Process form where you can provide the access policy and save it. Access policy is already created so you can modify access policy and open the process form select IT Resource and save it.
    Another way to write pre-pop adapter for populating IT Resource on the process form. But I am sure you can provide it resource via access policy.

    Hi user12841694,
    Thanks for the suggestion. But, the data (field) that can be modified by the approver is very limited. We cannot attach multi-valued attribute there (like Child Form).

  • Workflow approval process from outlook using webservice

    Hi All,
    I am trying to find a solution, for approval of worklow workitems from outlook. DUET is not a solution recommended by IT team.
    I need information regarding approval and rejection of workitems using webservice
    How can we send workitem for approval and rejection to outlook using webservicie?
    Please propose a solution or tell me where can I find document regarding this scebario.
    Thanks.

    Hi Pawan
    I have a question regarding this thread.
    In case we are using the webservice BWSP to send every user a hyperlink and I have passed the hyperlink  in the mail step in workflow , so that on clicking on it they will be able to view their business workplace.
    1.Where should we do the setting for the logon credentials that is on clicking the link every user is asked for their user id's and password and then the business workplace opens up.
    2. Will he be able to execute the workitems or any other setting is also require.
    Also,I was going through your post on using web service to send a link to outlook where in you mentioned a piece of code to generate the hyperlink dynamically since details of host and port may change.
    Now how should the above setting for user credentials be maintained in that code.
    Your comments would be valuable on this.
    Thanks and Regards

  • Shopping Cart approval process in SRM using Black Berry

    Hi,
    I am very new to SRM. Here the user wants the whole approval/rejection process of shopping cart should be done via the Black Berry.
    When a shopping cart is created in SRM then automatically a mail should appear in this mail box(outlook or lotus) as well as in the black berry mail box, so from black berry the user will accept/reject the shopping cart.
    What workflow should be used? for mailing to outlook as well as in the blackberry whether we should implement any BAdI and also for integrating SRM & black berry whether we require any plug-in or configuration to be done..
    Please do the needful..
    Thanks and Regards,

    Hi,
    pl. read this:
    Mobile Enterprise Buyer
    Use
    Users can log on to the Enterprise Buyer system using a WAP-enabled cellular phone or any other WAP-enabled front end. This allows them to perform many procurement tasks completely independently of any docking station. These mobile applications are part of the standard system setup for Enterprise Buyer.
    Managers can approve shopping carts while on business trips far away from the office.
    The start URL for the mobile scenarios is:
    http://.:/scripts/wgate/wapbbpstart/!?~language=
    where <language> = de or <language> = en, for example.
    The initial screen is displayed in the relevant language.
    Integration
    You can either use your own WAP gateway or you can use a WAP gateway service from a telecommunications provider. If you have your own gateway, you can position it behind your firewall. This means that communication is via a dialup line as far as the WAP gateway, that is, a secure connection going behind the firewall. Beyond this point, communication is via HTTP. If you are using a WAP gateway service, the dialup line stops outside your firewall with the less secure HTTP communication starting outside the firewall.
    The graphic shows a standard configuration with a WAP gateway located behind the firewall.
    Prerequisites
    You require the following:
    WAP-enabled mobile device
    WAP gateway
    WML-enabled catalog that supports OCI
    You have configured your Web server to handle the MIME (Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions) types required for WAP. These are as follows:
    File extension
    MIME type
    Wml
    text/vnd.wap.wml
    Wmlc
    Application/vnd.wap.wmlc
    Wmls
    text/vnd.wap.wmlscript
    Wmlsc
    Application/vnd.wap.wmlscriptc
    Wbmp
    image/vnd.wap.wbmp
    If you have your own Web server, you define the MIME types using the Web server's administration tools. In Microsoft IIS, you have to enter the types on the Properties page of your site on the tab card HTTP Headers. If you are not using your own Web server, inform the administrator or provider running the Web server.
    Features
    The following functions are available:
    Create new shopping cart
    Users can:
    Select catalogs using input help
    View catalogs (by product group)
    Search for products in catalogs (full text)
    Display item details
    Add items to shopping carts
    Delete items from shopping carts
    Change item quantities
    Delete shopping carts
    Order shopping carts
    When a shopping cart is ordered, an order confirmation is displayed giving the shopping cart name and the total value of the shopping cart.
    Status check
    Users can:
    Display overview of shopping carts (shopping cart name and status)
    Display header data for shopping carts (for example, shopping cart name and date of last change)
    Inbox
    Users can:
    Display overview of work items (only shopping cart approval) and messages
    Display detail view of messages (sender and full short text)
    Display detail view of work items (full short text only)
    Managers can approve or reject shopping carts
    Managers can only approve or reject complete shopping carts. Approval and rejection at item level is not possible.
    Reporting
    Managers can display the most recent purchase orders created for their cost center(s).

  • How to make a process form field non updatable in OIM 11G PS1

    Hello all - I have a filed in process form, which once filled should be not be updated. Could you please let me know how to achieve this?
    Should we create a process task, where in we can say 'updating this filed is not possible' ?
    I tried this. But OIM shows the filed with updated value but 'Resource History' shows status as Rejected.
    Please help. Thanks
    Manju

    The only way i would see this possible would be through an event handler if you can make it work for this form. On your pre-update, you would need to make sure to always return the original value back to the form so even if changed, it would change it back.

    we want to use the WF WS14000133 and WS14500015 in same approval process in BAdi "Determination of Approver for n-Step Dynamic Approval Workflow".
    For Example:
    - Shopping cart with 3 items and total value 1000,. EUR
    - first approval step financial for complete shopping cart cause total value
    - second approval step for item 1 and 3 cause cost center
    - not seperate approval for position 2
    - third and final approval step for complete shopping cart cause total value
    Thank you for your support
    Best regards
    Heinz-Georg

    For one approval process you can use only one workflow. But as you want some steps for the complete shopping cart and others on line item, use the line item approval. If you want to do the approval on "header" level just make sure all the items get the same approval object guid. That way all the items are assigned to the same approver and in that way you have a "header" approval.
    I used this for a similar requirement and it works fine.
    Regards,
    Martin

  • Approval Process for Role in OIM

    Experts,
    When a role is approved for a user in OIM, can we stop the user without getting assigned to the role immediately.
    We would like this scenario, user requests for role, the role owner approves it in OIM and then the role assignment happens in OIA.(or)
    User requests for the role, the approval workflow sends the request to OIA for approval from role owner , once approved it can be assigned in OIA and then automatically reflected in OIM as well.
    Which option is more feasible...and recommended?
    Thanks,
    Krish

    Thanks Kevin for the reply.
    Approval process code will be initiated in OIM and approving happens in OIA. Once approved, the role can as well be assigned in OIA. This can update OIM automatically by assigning the user with the requested role.
    (Or)
    Approval process code will be initiated in OIM, approving also happens in OIM, the role also gets assigned in OIM and an OIA updates this change accordingly.
    Which one would be recommended?
    Krish.

  • Approval process in XML forms

    Hi,
    I am implementing XML forms with approval process.UI have created a news. and it goes to the folder /documents/news2
    For Folder "News2" I have permission to one USER "Preeti " as approver.Everyone is Read access
    Service Permissions that "Preeti" has Full control.and evryone "Unsubscribe only"I could not see option no service
    Approval process has step of approving from user "Preeti"
    I could now see the edit delete approval in the iview but for the authors and users with system admin role also the iView has option of Submit for approval and Skip approval.
    Also I tried creating new user and for that the NEwsApproval iView does not show the link to create news.as shown in your fig.
    So I want that the author only should see teh link submit approval and not skip approval.All other users even though a system admin but not a approver should not see that Submit approval.
    Please request you to help me.

    Hi Preeti,
                    To see the 'New' link the user should have write access to that folder. Only then they can create xml items using the form.
                    If you dont want to show the skip approval link to any one including admin, you can advance copy the layout set "NewsExplorer" and remove the command from resource command group.
                   The approver also gets the submit for approval option and if he selects it, the document is sent to his own UWL for approval, if he is the only approver, otherwise sent to the next level approver.

  • To Activate the Approval Process when document is in update mode

    Dear Expert,
                        I have applied the Approval Process for UDF using the query "Select Distinct 'True' From ORDR T0
    Where IsNull($[ORDR.U_Rebate.number],0)>0 and $[ORDR.DocType]='I' ".
    Now as the field is UDF user is able to modify even after approval procedure.
    Please help me to apply the above query for the  Approval process even when the document is in update mode.
    regards,
    PankajK

    Dear Pankaj,
    Current B1 design only support approval for adding document. Update will not trigger approval.
    You may use SP_TN instead to block user updating it. If you are not familiar with the SP, search the forum first.
    Thanks,
    Gordon
