AQL sampling procedure, how to maintain it in Inspn plan?
Hello to all,
My client is having sampling inspection at every hour based on sampling procedure. lot size 3201 to 10000, sample= 80 and for lot 10001 to 35000, sample= 125.
Defects to be inspected are classified as very Critical, critical, major and Minor.
I am not understanding, how to decide whetehr lot is to be Rejected or Accepted after capturing defect types in Result Recording screen. What shoulsd we capture in Result recording screen.
Can anyone tell me how this AQL sampling procedure will imapct decision on our lot.
I am looking for grass root level information from you all.
My question may look crude to you, but on getting some advice from you all I can redifine my question again.
Thanks you very much in advance for you all.
Vineeth
Hi,
I have a similar requirement, how you achieved that, could you please mention that code. Thanks.

Difference between Sampling Procedure and Sample-drawing procedure
Friends,
I am new to QM and started learning QM Module. My doubt is what is the difference between Sampling Procedure and Sample-drawing procedure?
The reason for my doubt is, we can determine the sample quantity with Sampling procedure itself. then what is the need of sample-drawing procedure?
Also describe primary, pooled and reserved samples.
Regards,
IMIMINTHi,
Sampling Procedure
Definition
A procedure that contains the rules for determining the sample size for an inspection. The sampling procedure also specifies the type of valuation to use for results recording (attributive, variable, or manual).
Use
You assign a sampling procedure to each characteristic in an inspection plan to calculate the sample size.
Sample-Drawing Procedure
Definition
A master data object in which you plan the drawing of physical samples. In the sample-drawing procedure, you specify:
Which categories of physical samples must be drawn
How many physical samples must drawn
The size of each physical sample
Whether the drawing of physical samples must be confirmed
Use
The system uses the information in the sample-drawing procedure together with the information in the inspection plan to calculate the physical sample sizes, and to create physical-sample records when an inspection lot is created.
Primary Sample : It is the sample drawn from the lot directly.
Pooled Sample : It is the sample whcih is combination of 2 or more primary samples.i.e. primary sample sfrom say 3 differetn drums is mixed and tested.
Reserved Sample :sample which is preserved for the testing in future.
or in other words
Primary samples (1st stage)
Physical samples drawn directly from a material or batch that will be inspected or used to create pooled samples.
Pooled samples (2nd stage)
Physical samples to be created by mixing the contents of two or more primary samples from the same material or batch.
Reserve samples
Primary physical samples drawn from a material or batch reserved for future inspection.

Quality management( difference between sampling procedure & sample drawing)
Hi Experts,
I am very new to quality management module & working in united states. i am trying to find difference between sampling procedure & sample drawing procedure.
I see that sample drawing procedure is assigned to Inspection Plan & sampling procedure is assigned to characteristics, But i don't know the difference between these two, Please help me.
Regards,
SeshuHi,
SAMPLING PROCEDURE :
A procedure that contains the rules for determining the sample size for an inspection. The sampling procedure also specifies the type of valuation to use for results recording (attributive, variable, or manual).
Use
You assign a sampling procedure to each characteristic in an inspection plan to calculate the sample size.
Integration
In a sampling procedure, you must activate the function for inspection points based on a sample-drawing procedure if you assigned a sampling procedure and a sample-drawing procedure to an inspection plan at the characteristic and header levels respectively.
SAMPLE DRAWING PROCEDURE:
Structure
A sample-drawing procedure contains the following types of information:
Header data
The sample drawing header contains the following information fields and control indicators:
Key that identifies the sample-drawing procedure
Short text description for the sample-drawing procedure
Authorization group that limits the access to the sample-drawing procedure
Text for matchcode searches
Long text indicator
Indicator for calculating the number of physical samples on the basis of number of containers in the inspection lot (as opposed to the base unit of measure)
Confirmation indicator to activate or deactivate the confirmation requirement
Lock indicator to prevent the sample-drawing procedure from being used
Usage indicator that shows whether the sample-drawing procedure is currently used in an inspection plan
Sample-drawing item(s)
A sample-drawing item contains specific instructions for creating physical samples with respect to a specific inspection lot container type and specific partial-sample numbers in the inspection plan. In a sample-drawing item, you can also specify:
Which categories of physical samples you want to create (primary samples, pooled samples, and reserve samples)
The physical sample container you use to draw each category of physical sample
A factor to increase the quantity of physical samples to be created (for example, if you need to carry out more than one inspection)
The number of physical samples to be created (fixed number or variable number based on a sampling scheme)
Integration
The sample-drawing procedure interacts with the following planning objects:
Inspection plan
You assign a sample-drawing procedure to an inspection plan to activate the functions for sample management.
Sampling scheme (optional)
If you want the system to determine the number of physical samples automatically on the basis of a sampling scheme, you can reference sampling schemes in a sample-drawing procedure.
Hope it helps...

Hello Friends,
I have to map the following scenario. Please advise the config & master data.
1) My sample size should change if my acceptance & rejecetion level changes.
2) If rejection increases then the sample size in the next lot should increase & the vice versa.
RegardsHello Sir,
Thanks for your valuable reply. I have progressed on this. I need some more help.
Let us park DMR for a while. DMR is working fine. But I have some issues in results recording.
Let us only work only with sampling procedure with sampling scheme.
I have taken one inspection characteristic. It is quantitavie characteristic. It has lower limit as 10% & upper limit as 15%.
what I have done
1)
I have created one sampling scheme = ABC
Valuation parameter = variable inspection by S method
sampling table = severity/AQL
For normal inpsection (4) I have taken AQL as 2.
Lot size = 100
Sample size = 15
K-Factor = 3
2)
I created one sampling procedure = XYZ
Sampling type = Use sampling scheme
Valuation mode = Variable inpscetion S - Method (two limits)
without inpsection points
assigned sampling scheme = ABC
No multiple samples
Inspection severity 4
AQL value 2.000
3)
I assigned the sampling procedure in the plan with the characteristic.
4)
I did GR for 100 & sample of 15 generated.
why I have done
1)
In sampling scheme
valuation parameter = variable inspection by S method (because my characteristic is quantitative)
2)
In sampling procedure
Valuation mode = Variable inpscetion S - Method (two limits) (because my characteristic is quantitative with lower & upper limit )
My issues:
1) Is my settings for a quantitative characteristic with lower & upper limit correct?
2) During results recording system is asking to enter StdDev. What is standard deviation?
3) How characteristic is accepted & rejected? I am not getting any pop up to select accept or reject?

How to add records or how to maintain list in stored Procedure
Hi,
I am facing an issue in the addition of record in the type
create or replace
TYPE "PROD_SEARCH_COUNT_TBL" AS TABLE OF PROD_SEARCH_COUNT_OBJ;
create or replace
TYPE "PROD_SEARCH_COUNT_OBJ" AS OBJECT
( /* TODO enter attribute and method declarations here */
V_Name Varchar2(500 Byte),
v_Value Varchar2(500 Byte),
v_count Number
I want to add records to the type I tried following way
prod_wcf_rec PROD_SEARCH_COUNT_TBL;
SELECT PROD_SEARCH_COUNT_OBJ('Name1','Value1',1) BULK COLLECT INTO prod_wcf_rec FROM DUAL;
SELECT PROD_SEARCH_COUNT_OBJ('Name2','Value2',2) BULK COLLECT INTO prod_wcf_rec FROM DUAL;
SELECT PROD_SEARCH_COUNT_OBJ('Name3','Value3',3) BULK COLLECT INTO prod_wcf_rec FROM DUAL;
SELECT PROD_SEARCH_COUNT_OBJ('Name4','Value4',4) BULK COLLECT INTO PROD_WCF_REC FROM DUAL;
DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE ('-----------------------------Looping----------------------------');
FOR i in 1 .. prod_wcf_rec.COUNT
LOOP
DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE (prod_wcf_rec(i).V_Name||' - '||prod_wcf_rec(i).v_Value||' - '||prod_wcf_rec(i).v_count);
END LOOP;
DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE ('-----------------------------Looping----------------------------');
In printing I am getting last records only .So is there any way to add records to PROD_SEARCH_COUNT_TBL
How to add records or how to maintain list in stored ProcedureEvery time you BULK COLLECT into a collection type the value is overwirtten. So you need to try something like this.
SQL> create or replace type prod_search_count_obj as object(v_name varchar2(500 byte), v_value varchar2(500 byte), v_count number)
2 /
Type created.
SQL> create or replace type prod_search_count_tbl as table of prod_search_count_obj
2 /
Type created.
SQL> declare
2 prod_wcf_rec prod_search_count_tbl;
3 begin
4 select obj_val
5 bulk collect into prod_wcf_rec
6 from (
7 select prod_search_count_obj('name1','value1',1) obj_val from dual
8 union all
9 select prod_search_count_obj('name2','value2',2) from dual
10 union all
11 select prod_search_count_obj('name3','value3',3) from dual
12 union all
13 select prod_search_count_obj('name4','value4',4) from dual
14 );
15
16 dbms_output.put_line ('-----------------------------looping----------------------------');
17 for i in 1 .. prod_wcf_rec.count
18 loop
19 dbms_output.put_line (prod_wcf_rec(i).v_name||' - '||prod_wcf_rec(i).v_value||' - '||prod_wcf_rec(i).v_count);
20 end loop;
21 dbms_output.put_line ('-----------------------------looping----------------------------');
22 end;
23 /
-----------------------------looping----------------------------
name1 - value1 - 1
name2 - value2 - 2
name3 - value3 - 3
name4 - value4 - 4
-----------------------------looping----------------------------

How to assign sampling procedure at plant level.
Hi Team,
Pls suggest me "How to assign sampling procedure at plant level."
Error message is - You can not use sampling procedure here.
Not all sampling procedures can be used in this context.
Example:
Only the sampling procedures for an attributive inspection based on the
number of nonconforming units are allowed.
However I have assigned 0.05% sampling procedure in IDES system plant, which is accepted. However I am not allowed to assign this in client system..
Pls suggest me solution.
ThanksHi,
During creation of inspection plan you can assign SP at plant level, IP always at plant level
Q.Error message is - You can not use sampling procedure here.
---> pl check the MIC where Sampling procedure in clicked or not
pl revert

Hi all,

8 B 5 0 / 1 0 / 1 0 / 1
500 k 80 2 / 3 3 / 4 5 / 6
Thanksyou only assign one level against a charcteristic.
SAP already provides many standard AQL sampling plans. The ones for you probably want are S221214L, S221214M and S221214N.
If you don't have these, you can created them manually. You should have a sampling procedure for level 1.5. Another for level 2.5 and another for 4.0. You will need a sampling scheme created for each of these where you maintaing you normal, reduced and tightened sampling tables.
Whether the normal, tightenned or reduced sampling is used is depenedent on the quality level. This is usually tracked by vendor/material for incoming inspections, and by material for inhouse production. You can adjust the current quality level for a given combination using QDL2.

How to maintain the log for procedure execution
I want to maintain the log for procedures as below.
Once the procedure starts it should show status as RUNNING and PROC_END_TIME should be NULL.

Hi,

Thanks.
You have two options.
Either a running log, from which you periodically delete old records, or maintain a standing record for each process you are tracking.
Ok, let's take the second, since that seems to be your preferred method.
Going back to your original post, you gave us code and said "I have tried the below code but it's not working properly."
Please define "not working". That statement is totally devoid of actionable or diagnostic information. -
Sampling procedure-Square root n+1
Hi All,
I need to calculate the sample size based on the Containers & Square root n+1.
How to configure the system & how to maintain the master data to get the sample size.
User also insisted only the sample size has to be calculated, but he will enter only one composite result entry
Regards
SubbuHi Subbu,
you can use Physical Sample to control the sample Size.
You must to define a Sample Drawing Procedure (QPV2) as relevant for Container Number, then assign the formula 'Square Root n1´ ( TRUNC(SQRT(P2)1) ) in the partial sample. In this scenario, I suggest you to configure the "Container number' as a mandatory field during the goods receipt once the system will need this information to calculate the sample. For a single result recording, you can define a pooled sample.
I hope it can help you.

How to maintain Vertion Control in PL/SQL
Hi all..
How to maintain Vertion Control in PL/SQL. I created one procedure/function/
package. After sometime, i made changes to it. How to maintain
that changes. Writing manually in it, what are the changes i made is the
only option OR is there any other option is there...?
Thanks in advance,
PalHi,
Version control is there for tables in oracle, but i don't think it is available for plsql code. Best method will be to use the third party software. Using Flashback DB you can try source control certain extent.

How to maintain the integrity of datbase??
Hi,
I wanted to know that waht are the things which must always be considerd when you maintain the integrity of database and also how to maintain the security that balance the user requirement? I am asking in general point of view.
hope for your precious advise.Data integrity is normally ensured by ensuring that the schema design is properly normalized (i.e. there is 1 and only 1 place where a particular piece of information belongs) and by creating referential integrity constraints. It is also a good idea to create packages that operate on the tables and expose only these packaged procedures to app developers. When there are bugs, it is a lot easier to fix a single stored procedure than to modify every application out there. Stored procedure interfaces also simplify life for developers because they don't have to be concerned about remembering to insert all the appropriate relationships, just passing in the right parameters to the function.
Your question on security, unfortunately, is incredibly broad. Generally, practice the principle of least privilege-- give users the absolute minimum of privileges they could need to do their job. Precisely what sort of security policies you need really depends on the application and the organization. Large US companies have things like Sarbanes-Oxley to worry about which drives a lot of requirements, systems with sensitive data (i.e. payroll) probably need more security than something like the product database.
