Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page? I get this popup every minute. it's driving me crazy. How do i stop this from happening?

This popup happens for no apparent reason. I'll just be reading an article or checking my e-mail and it pops up all the time

Use '''Tools -> Options -> Advanced | General | Accessibility <br />''' Uncheck [x] warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page
* see [[Options window - Advanced panel]]
If that works, perhaps you will mark the problem as solved, if not post back with what problems remain; I may have misunderstood the exact problem.

I keep getting a message everytime I click on a link especially in Facebook asking me if I am sure I want to navigate away from the current page. Firefox never used to do this and I was wondering if there is some way I can turn it off

my imessages are being sent on multiple phones and i deleted the icloud account on the other phone but the messages still go through how do I stop this?
Do you think deleting the message off the phone would make a difference?

If you don't enter an e-mail address, it just uses SMS and MMS. iMessages (sent over the data connection instead of using your SMS messaging plan) require an e-mail address registered on the device.
There is no requirement that you activate it.

  • How can I get rid of that popup that keeps asking me if I'm sure I want to navigate away from the page I'm on?

I think my question is very clear. If I didn't want to go somewhere else, I would not have clicked on anything. I hate having to answer that question every single time I want to go to a different page.

  • I just downloaded the 5 version but now my email keeps pulling up old emails that are on my computer. It will take forever to get through all my emails that my computer stores. How do I stop this so I only receive new emails?

IS there a on/off that stops old emails from coming through on my Iphone? Everytime I click on my email it uploads another 50 old emails from my computer. Maybe the PUSH?

    1) ensure iTunes is authorized for your iTunes store account(s)
    2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
    3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.
above works for purchases from the iTunes store. for everything else, check out this post by Zevoneer.

  • How do I stop "Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page? Press OK to continue, or Cancel to stay on the current page." from comeing up. It is new. Just started doing it yesterday morning.

I have used FireFox to play the Game Kingdoms Of Camelot, a facebook game. I also have Grease Monkey and a 3rd party add on. I leave it running 24/7 to gather food in the game for my army. It has run smoothly for 6 mo. Yesterday 2/04/11 in the morning it started asking for conformation when the page refreshed. i want to know how to stop this Box from comeing up it will not continue without refreshing and will not refresh untill th question is answered. It says "Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page? Press OK to continue, or Cancel to stay on the current page."

You're not going to stop it, and out here, what's illegal?
What it boils down to is a matter of ethics, and it's wrong. But the web
techies build this feature into their sites because they know somebody
is going to fly in off an engine like Google or MSN. And take something,
like a picture. Without stopping in and signing up or something else.
But what if I or you is out collecting stamps or avatars or wallpapers,
and have already taken a quiz, or signed up for a product? I've already
done that...but the site developers who use this ingenious(hijacking)
software don't see it that way, and don't care if you just got a computer
and want to pick up something here or there. Those sites don't get
anything when you visit and don't leave your number. I don't what
these 19 tracking cookies are for, do you?

  • "Are you sure you want to send a form again" Pops up when I navigate back.

Why does this statement keep popping when I navigate back? "Are you sure you want to send a form again"? This is very annoying and I would like to be able to stop it.

HI and Welcome to Apple Discussions...
From the Safari Menu Bar click Safari/Preferences then select the Security tab.
At the bottom of that pane, deselect: Ask before sending a non-secure form from a secure website
    Relaunch Safari.
If setting it in preferences doesn't help, launch the Terminal app (Applications/Utilities)
Type in this command exactly as you see it here. You may be prompted for your admin password.
    defaults write com.apple.Safari DebugConfirmTossingUnsubmittedFormText NO
Quit the Terminal application and launch Safari.
If at some time you want to change this command back, type in the same command but at the end
    type in: YES

  • Please move the 'SEND' and 'SPELL CHECK' options away from each other, and when sending, ask the question, 'Are you sure you want to send now?' Thanks

The send and spell check options are next to each other. I can not tell you how many times I hit the send button be accident. When sending, and question of 'Are you sure you want to send now?', should be asked.
    Thanks

Actually, unless something has changed, you can set Thunderbird to run an automatic spell check when you click Send. That might be your best workaround.
Tools menu > Options > Composition panel > Spelling mini-tab
(You can display the classic menu bar by tapping the Alt key)
It might also be possible to customize the toolbar, but I think this might be safer.
Regarding a general confirmation for sending, I noticed some add-ons for that, but I don't have any personal recommendations.

  • How to add for wikipages the popup " are you sure you want to leave this page" on edit

Our users complain about hitting the backspace button in a wiki page, sometimes the I.E. goes back and loose their changes. I could get a jquery popup but I don't know how to know that the wiki page is in edit mode and not in view mode.Do you know how/what
to check with javascript in order to know the mode of the page?
    Thank you
    Christos

Jquery has a specific function that allows you to add this sort of thing to general SharePoint pages.  I've not tried it in my own environment but some good useful starter information can be seen on a similar thread at Stack exchange.

  • HT1414 When I hit restore a file menu from my computer pops up and I am not sure what file to put in to get my iphone to restore from.  I don't get the box that says are you sure you want to restore.  So how do I get it to restore so I can see if this fix

I got a "new" iphone from the Apple store when my dog bit the phone and cracked the front.  This new phone will not play any music, ie no sound will come out.  I can watch videos with sounds but no music from any of my playlists.  I checked with Apple and was told to try to restore my iphone.  I did all the necessary prep work like backing up and syncing and then hit the restore button on the iTunes page.  A file menu icon popped up with a blank in it and I do not know what file I need to put in the window as where it needs to find a file to restore the phone.  I never got a message that said are you sure you want to restore the phone.  I need some help if anyone knows how to do this or should I just go back to the Apple store (which is over an hour away)?  Thanks

I am syncing my iphone to my iTunes account and then I do a backup and also making sure all updates are current.  Then by going to the my phone and then going to the right and selecting the restore my iphone.
Here is a picture of what I get

  • Are you sure you want to change the extension from... BLOCKS Finder Editing

This is weird and is driving me nuts, but some Macs do not allow further Finder editing of file or folder names if I change their names (usually including numbers, dots and so on) in such a way that I receive the warning:
Are you sure you want to change the extension from..?
After I confirm that I want to change the name, the Finder does it but gets locked for editing (I can do other things) and does not allow any further file or folder editing until I force quit of Finder or reboot the Mac.
I have found that if right after confirming that I want to change the name I select the file and hit return (which selects its name), no problem arises. But I must do it in one or two seconds, or else it will be too late.
    IN SUMMARY:
    1. Change file or folder name including numbers and dots at the end.
    2. Get the message "Are you sure you want to change the extension from..."
    3. Confirm that I want to change the name.
    4. FROM NOW ON, I CANNOT CHANGE THE NAME OF ANY FILE OR FOLDER UNTIL I FORCE FINDER QUIT. Unless of course I do the trick indicated above real quick!
Any hint? Any way to know what is going on? This could be a bug of Mac OS X 10.4.x or earlier or a problem with a third party application. But how to know what is going on to prevent it? As said, some Macs show this issue, but not others.

Hint: some file or folder name changes are more prone to cause the issue than others. For instance, renaming a folder (and confirming it) as:
    Testing.r00
brings the bug 100% of the times.
Any idea of what is going on? Thanks.

The message is a warning that you are doing something that the OS thinks is going to possibly cause a problem. You are creating the situation and the OS is doing nothing other than what you are asking it to do.
I don't know any exact answer why you can't access your files, but I do know that there are a few characters and things that will cause problems because they mimic names of invisible files. When you make a name that is close to being the same it can treat the file as the special one... meaning you can only access it via Terminal.
Ones you cannot use at all: the colon (:), slash (/), single or double period as first characters. (taken from Finder Help with a naming files search) It is best to stay away from any special characters as a rule. Also avoid using a period and 3 character suffix unless it is one that you are purposefully assigning so the file belongs to an application.
That said... even with the over 200 applications on my system I couldn't repeat your Testing.r00 problem. So, I don't know if it may be application related or not.
