Lately a number of people have been having problems editing formats that FCE can't handle easily.
I came across this link for FREE Mac video editing applications:-

You will find apps for Windows and Linux platforms as well.
I have no idea how good (or bad) they are, but thought that anybody trying to edit a weird format may find them useful alongside FCE ........ I could be completely wrong, but as they cost nothing you have nothing to lose - except time.
Just noticed the article is over 3 years old, but the apps are still there for download ....... don't know how well they will work on the latest Macs, but you are not paying anything!

To summarize your problem:
1. It happens with more than one version of iPhoto.
2. It happens in more that one account.
3. It happens with more than one OS.
Try some basic remedies. I don't think they will solve the problem, but it can't hurt to try them. Quit iPhoto and delete your iPhoto preferences. To do this, go to your username> library> preferences> com.apple.iphoto.plist. Delete this file. Then reopen iPhoto; it will create a new preference file with all of the default settings.
Do a verify and repair of permissions using Disk Utility.
My feeling is that this is a hardware rather than software problem. If the problem persists, I suggest that you post in the PowerMac G5 forum.

Hi bsan821,
Are you trying to fill in the forms, or actually edit the PDF? If you need to edit the PDF, you would need to download it and open it Acrobat (Reader doesn't allow you to edit PDFs).
If you're just trying to fill in a PDF form, that's a different story. You should be able to do that in a browser. Please see Acrobat Help | Filling in PDF forms. What web browser are you using, and what happens when you try to fill in the forms?

If you think 4.0 is bad wait to you go to 5.0. The changes from 3.6 are trashy and sloppy. Foxfire needs to stop playing with the home page on updates. I do not like them.

To elaborate on what Sukrit posted, it is likely that the form is not an Acrobat forum but a Designer form or was set for distribution and is locked for editing. I suspect it was probably created in Designer and thus can only be completed in Acrobat or Reader since the PDF is really container for and XML structure and does not have the basics of a PDF document. If that is the case, you either need Designer or you can print to a new PDF and use the field recognition feature of Acrobat to recreate the form. Of course, the latter will require some editing to the form fields in most cases.

1) So RAW files have a multitude of possible file extensions / formats, and it depends on which of these extensions you use. If the image can fit in memory, it can be brought into LabVIEW. An image of that size should be able to come into LabVIEW. Are you considering using NI-Vision to do this? You would look into the VI called "IMAQ ReadFile." There are a certain set of standard formats that can be read.
2) If a camera is DirectShow capable, and there are USB drivers available to access that camera through a Windows machine, then you should be able to bring that camera up in NI's software such as LabVIEW.

Are you able to edit music

I want to use my ipod to play music at our wedding in three weeks time and one of the songs I have on CD I want to edit before loading it onto my ipod. I want to remove the intro to reduce the song length. Am I able to do this ??? Thanks

There are a couple ways to go about this.
One is to simply import to iTunes. Then select the song you want to shorted, do a Get Info, then under the Options tab you can set the start and stop times. The default start is of course 0:00. All you have to do is set the Start time to be after the intro part you do not want to hear.
After that sync it to your iPod and check it, but it SHOULD start playing at the start time you specified. You can also set stop times as well to shorten songs.
You can also "physically" trim the songs either in iTunes or with third party applications outside iTunes to actually create new files with only that part you want. But see if the iTunes Start/Stop option above works for what you need. If not, they we can suggest other ways to do it more permanently.

Why are you trying to force us into new plans that cost more and offer less?

My wife and I are long term customers on a grandfathered Family Share Plan (2 lines with unlimited data, 1000 texts each, and 500 shared minutes). Now that my children are getting older I am ready to get them their own mobile phones; however, you won't allow me to add them to our existing plan (even if those new lines do not include a data package). As recently as a few months ago I could have added a new line (talk only) for $9.99 per month. After an hour of discussion with your loyalty-program service rep, the only options offered to me were 1) give up the old plan and have all of us forced into a new one that will cost more while offering us significantly less, or 2) keep the existing plan for my wife and me and start a new "family" plan for my children (which,again, will be more expensive while offering less). It would be much more convenient for all of us to be on the same plan with the same provider, but you are not allowing that to happen. Your customer service representative acknowledged multiple times that I have been a long term loyal customer -- but if you don't reciprocate that loyalty then I also am a misguided fool who is allowing you to take advantage of me. So now I will have to start investigating mobile service alternatives for my children; given the lack of loyalty that you have shown me thus far, l guess it's time to see what your competitors have to offer.

I could do the same. I believe you had possibly an older plan than what I had that allowed more than 3 lines. I remember specifically being kicked back an error and telling me to move to the 1400 minute plan as that was the only one that support 3 or more lines.
Too bad I don't have screenshots of it. I purge my screenshots when making changes to anything on line for verification.

Apple does make most of the accessories.
They do not decide this. The maker of the accessories decide this.

Are Export DataSources always 3.x format? Can they be migrated to 7.0 DTP?

I am extracting for a BW Export DataSource into a cube. It seems that when you generate an Export DataSource, the DataSource in 3.x format.
I first created the ETL using the 3.x scenario.
i.e Export DataSource->Transfer Rules->InfoSource->Update Rules->Cube
I then wanted to move the DTP for improved efficiency and so created a new 7.0 InfoSource and built the 7.0 scenario
i.e Export DataSource->Transformation->7.0 InfoSource->Transformation->Cube and all works well.
I'm now trying to remove the 3.x scenario, but it causing problems because the Export DataSource remains 3.x.
If I try to delete the 3.x DataSource, it wants to remove dependent objects (which are both 3.x & 7.0 scenarios).
If try and migrate the 3.x DataSource to 7.0 (Rightclick: Migrate), it gives me an Error Message no. RSDS163 - Export DataSource 8AUEQUIPMTM(CBW230ALE) in myself system: Object type RSDS not possible
I can't find anything on OSS, but I suspect Export DataSources are not supported in the 7.0 format as yet.
As such, I am required to leave 3.x scenario intact to process the 7.0 scenario.
This isn't a great problem, but it is a little messy and confusing for the person administering the loads.
Can anyone tell me if it possible to make an Export DataSource into 7.0 DataSource?

Hi,
when needed, you can indeed convert datasources from v3.5 to V7, and back, using transaction RSDS. Choose "with export". This "saves" the "other" version, and so it can be "restored" afterwards via RSDS again.
This is also true after DS replication from a sourcesystem, when the system asks whether you want the new replicated DS to be 3.X or V7. Either you choose, you can convert afterwards if needed.

I know the pasword to my ipod 4th generation but everytime i type it in it says its wrong. i tried restoring i but my computer can't handle it. anyway to break in and take away the password without restoring the ipod orgetting a new one?

Video editing file format.

I have decided to try Photoshop CC to edit videos, something I have never done before. The Adobe information I can find tells me that the file type .mpg, all of my video files are this, is supported but when I open them CC tells me "file not found". Has anybody else come across this and if so how do you get around it?

How are you trying to open the MPG files? Are you dropping them onto Photoshop. Using File Open or adding a video in the video timeline. There are many codec use in mpeg encoding does the video play in any video viewer on your system. What platform are you using. Which CC version CC or CC 2014 and are all updates installed?

Did you download a 30-day trial of Acrobat? What are you trying to do with that trial? Did you want to convert PDF files to Word/Excel, for example? Or some other task? The 30-day free trial is just that, and there should be no prompts to buy anything. Once the trial is over, either you subscribe at that point if you want, or just stop using the software.

Quality issues with Pre and the Touchstone, are you kidding?

I´m really pissed off Palm and the quality of their products:
I got yesterday my third Palm Pre, first one had the oreo-effect (it was possible to move the slider arround 0.5 cm to the right and left), the second one had a problem on the display inside, (difficult to explain was looking like the display comes off the cover), and the third one has 6 pixels not working and the power button is shaking and it seems I will loose it in the next days.
The Touchstone causes problems, if the battery is full, every 10 seconds it is starting to charge again. Thanks for that, my battery has now 250 loading cycles in one night. Had to use some tapes and put it on the stone and now it is working, but this can´t be the solution for that..
Beside that, the webOS is funny and I really like it, but it is a shame. Apple did a lot wrong with the first iPhone, like missing copy&paste and MMS, but the Pre? One notification sound for SMS, Email, Chat, System sounds? Are you kidding? A 50,- Euro-Mobile can make it better. In 1.3.1 it is possible to select a ringtone for SMS. Great! And for Email? I don´t know if I got a SMS, Email, System hint or Chatmessage..
And I found a really anoying bug right now: if the battery is empty, it looses the time, if the network time is set to off. So my Pre shows me 30 min in the past (actual time on the pre 22.59)

Well, I'm sure Adobe would rather not hear that folks are discontented. But I've not seen anyone saying that anyone should just shut up about issues. If you have an issue, it needs to be stated. Otherwise, how will it ever be known? After all, they are helpless to address issues they are unaware of, no?
It is clear, really clear that the changes that have been made are the way it is.
I'm not sure if you are referring to the new statement made about how things will be or if you are referring to the forums changeover. I suppose either way, you are correct. But then, as I see it, so much of life and your life experience is determined not by what happens, but by how you decide to react to it. That's my philosophy. I always have a choice in how I elect to react to any given situation. I sometimes can't change the situation, but I can choose to allow it to ruin my day or just become something that happened and move on. Then again, that's just me. I don't expect everyone to be like me. What a boring world that would be if we were all the same!
