ASM configuration error, mount failed

When running "oracleasm configure", I am getting the following error:
Mounting ASMlib driver filesystem: mount: block device oracleasmfs is write-protected, mounting read-only
mount: cannot mount block device oracleasmfs read-only
Unable to mount ASMlib driver filesystem
[FAILED]
I am using RedHat 4.0 kernel 2.6.9-22 on x86_64 SMP and have downloaded the relevant ASM rpms.
Any ideas?

After reading some more documents, I found out that you actually need to partition the harddrive. I probably will partition it using a software like magic partition. This is different than Redhat Linux 9.0 Personal.
Thank you,

  • Solaris 10 upgrade fails with "mount failed"

I'm trying to upgrade an aged Ultra 80 to Solaris 10u9 (from Solaris 10u2 or so), so that it can be used for our product testing purposes. After several unsuccessful attempts, I finally freed up enough space on the / filesystem (5.2GB free) by moving /opt to a newly installed second drive.
However, the upgrade now fails with
"Mount failed for either root, swap, or other file system.
    Pfinstall failed. Exit stat= java.lang.UNIXProcess@e2892b 2"
At the end of the log file it says
"Checking c0t0d0s0 for an upgradeable Solaris image.
ERROR: Mount failed for either root, swap, or other file system."
I'm stumped. It doesn't say which file system it's having problems with.
Any ideas as to how to troubleshoot this problem, or what the cause might be? At 30 minutes per upgrade attempt, I'd like to know what the cause is rather than pursuing trial and error.
    Thanks.

Look at your "vfstab" and see if there are any mounts that need a specific driver like a SAN-provided LUN. Comment them out during the upgrade for the upgrade tries to mount everything in your /etc/vfstab and if it doesn't have the driver/software to do it, it will fail...

    Hi Jp,
The error message : Please verify that javac compiler is installed on this machine and is included in the classpath (check that "tools.jar" in particular is in the classpath).
This means that you javac compiler might not be installed or not in the classpath entry. You might want to compile the bpel project using the JDev and then deploy.

Using service account then i will get the soluction or what?
pls help me out it is urgent based.

    Thanks!

    Hi Ychinnari,
I have tested on my local environment and can reproduce the issue, as
Vaishu00547 mentioned that the issue can be caused by the Execution Account you have configured in the Reporting Services Configuration Manager is not correct, Please update the Username and Password and restart the reporting services.
Please also find more details information about when to use the execution account, if possible, please also not specify this account:
This account is used under special circumstances when other sources of credentials are not available:
When the report server connects to a data source that does not require credentials. Examples of data sources that might not require credentials include XML documents and some client-side database applications.
When the report server connects to another server to retrieve external image files or other resources that are referenced in a report.

If you still have any problem, please feel free to ask.

  • NWDI for the 04s preview fails with 'SLD name-server configuration error'

After the installation, everything seems to work fine except that when I go to CMS, the links on the top seems to be hardcoded to point to http://pwdf3102:50100/dtr, even in the Domain Data. When I tried to change it to my local server, it keeps complaining about "Unexpected error; inform your system administrator: <Localization failed: ResourceBundle='com.sap.cms.util.exception.CMSExceptionMessages', ID='SLD name-server configuration error', Arguments: []> : Can't find resource for bundle java.util.PropertyResourceBundle, key SLD name-server configuration error"
Any suggestions on how to work around this? Thanks.

    Brian,
Try to import the model file first by going to SLD->Administration->Import CIM Model. If the problem sticks, then try to remove the systems. The preview version has lots of pre-exist system name in the technical system, which you can find giving errors since they're not reachable. So you can remove them from SLD (Home->Technical Systems) if they are preventing you from procceeding.
You need to go to http://server:port/dtr/system-tools/administration/NameServerConfiguration to update the name server as well.
    Hope this helps...

  • Can't get around "mount failed" - "on error" won't do it - help appreciated

    Hi
I'm using this syntax to mount a volume, and it works well if the volume can in fact be mounted:
    try
    mount volume "afp://username:[email protected]/MyDir"
    on error
    display dialog "blah blah"
    end try
BUT, if the volume can't be mounted because the directory specified is incorrect, I a dialog saying "Mount Failed" opens with the only option being 'OK'. Under some other mount failure circumstances this dialog doesn't appear, and the script does eventually time out and disappear all by itself. But if this dialog appears, I have no option other than to manually press OK. It stays open forever. This dialog appears before the script passes the error to the display dialog part, so it prevents the "on error" part of the script from running. This is the only example I know of where 'on error' fails to let the scripter move on and manage the error.
What I would really like to do is to get the 'on error' functionality to actually work properly, because I can determine the PID of the process using Terminal and could then kill it using a shell script if , BUT none of this is possible because the script never gets to the 'on error' state because a real human must press the dialog's OK. I can't seem to use system events to send anything to it because the whole applescript just hangs at this point until the OK is checked.
Does anyone know a workaround? I've tried using a with timeout step around the whole thing but also won't work.
Thanks for any advice you could give me.
    Chris.

I'm having the same trouble, but for different reasons. I was trying to determine a method for examining all the mounted volumes on my desktop and then detecting which mounted volume came from which network server. There doesn't seem to be any way to determine this via any filesystem metadata or anything. The only solution that I could think of was to build an afp url for each server/volume combination for any given mounted volume I wanted to test and then try mount volume on each url (thinking that the on error handler would trap the errors and then I could branch accordingly). Doesn't work. It's interesting that if you try mount volume afp://validerserver/badvolume, you get the mount failed error before your on error handler kicks in. If you try mount volume afp://badserver/validvolume, the on error handler fields the resulting -35 error. If you try mount volume afp://emptystring, you get a connection failed dialog before the on error handler again. Really annoying.
I filed a bug on this.

  • BizTalk Runtime configuration error - "Creation of Adapter FILE Configuration Store entries failed"

    Hi,
I am trying to install Biztalk Server 2006 R2 on a Vista Ultimate
edition machine. I completed the installation successfully, and have
configured "Enterprise SSO" and "Group" features. I am getting the
following error while configuring the BizTalk Runtime feature.
"Creation of Adapter FILE Configuration Store entries failed.
The SSO system is currently disabled."
I have already done/tried the following:
    1. I tried different settings - Inprocess only, Inprocess and
isolated, each trusted, each with a regular user account and each with
an administrator user account. In all cases I get the same error.
    2. I have made the changes suggested here (related to rpc
authentication changes after Windows XP SP2) but it still doesnt
    change anything: http://blogs.msdn.com/scottwoo/archive/2004/05/19/135453.aspx
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance,
    Anand

I'm having a similar installation error on an XP SP2 box and was getting the same error message (Creation of Adapter FILE Configuration Store entries failed. The SSO system is currently disabled.).  I checked and the Enterprise SSO application is not appearing in the list of services, and doing a command line "net start ENTSSO" returns an invalid service error.
So going on the theory that SSO did not install correctly and get registered as a server, I went ahead and uninstalled BizTalk/SSO, blew away BTS/SSO databases, and tried to reinstall (selected all options for install).
After BizTalk installed, I entered a local admin account and chose "Custom" installation.  Because the error message pointed at an SSO problem, I tried to apply the SSO configuration ONLY, using the default SSO Administrator/Affiliate Administrator accounts with the default admin account, but it keeps failiing at the same point in the install log when it tries to start SSO (see log below).
[10:30:51 AM Info ConfigHelper]  Creating service: ENTSSO, start type: 2, exe: "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Enterprise Single Sign-On\ENTSSO.exe", dependencies: RPCSS,COMSysApp,MSSQLSERVER, account: .\bizservice

[10:30:52 AM Info SSOServerCfg] (ssoconfigobj2.cpp:5892) The SSO service state is: The service is starting (SERVICE_START_PENDING)
[10:30:53 AM Info SSOServerCfg] (ssoconfigobj2.cpp:5892) The SSO service state is: The service is not running (SERVICE_STOPPED)
The SSO database does get created, but the SSO Administrators and SSO Affiliate Administrators local groups do not.
So my theory here is that for some reason SSO cannot start, the exception is caught and the app rolls back.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Nidhi,
Can you try restarting the  SAPHOSTAGENT  saphostexec -restart
    Check its status saphostexec -status
    Check its version saphostexec -version
You should have the latest version applied if possible.
The main fix is in saphostagent package, however also disp+work
processes use the access to saposcol and should be
updated as well via the kernel update.
    Kind regards,

    Steven DeSalvo

    Hi StevenDE2012,
Based on the error message "The report server has encountered a configuration error. Logon failed for the unattended execution account. (rsServerConfigurationError)", it seems that the Unattended Execution Account settings in Reporting Services
    Configuration is not correct.
Reporting Services provides a special account that is used for unattended report processing and for sending connection requests across the network. Unattended report processing refers to any report execution process that is triggered by an event rather than
a user request. The report server uses the unattended report processing account to log on to the computer that hosts the external data source. This account is necessary because the credentials of the Report Server service account are never used to connect
to other computers. To configure the account, please refer to the following steps:
Start the Reporting Services Configuration tool and connect to the report server instance you want to configure.
On the Execution Account page, select Specify an execution account.

  • Configure: error: C preprocessor "/lib/cpp" fails

    I'm getting an error:
configure: error: C preprocessor "/lib/cpp" fails sanity check
For several things, mainly svn of gaim, gaim-encryption, but I haven't tried others.  Any clue what this has to do with?

i tried to install sabbu and subtitleeditor with abs/aur, and both stopped at configure.
checking how to run the C++ preprocessor... /lib/cpp
configure: error: C++ preprocessor "/lib/cpp" fails sanity check
tried to reinstall kernel-headers-2.6.18-3 and gcc-4.1.1-3 ...no luck.
(tried to remove them from cache then reinstall...still got the error msg)
