ASP VBScript producing Dreamweaver Javascript Error Messages

Do almost anything in Dreamweaver CS4 with ASP VBScript seems to produce javascript error messages.  can be a blank page, and you try to create a recordset... error box, error box, and then the code gets inserted but is not in the server behaviors panel.  i'm usually working in php and have never had this problem, but it's quite annoying to work that way... being forced to hand code a lot simple because dreamweaver isn't working correctly.
warning one:
the following javascript error(s) occurred:
warning two:
while executing findServerbehaviors in Recordset.htm, a JavaScript error occurred
deleted .dat file and restarted dreamweaver, per some discussions via google... did nothing.

anyone know how to fix this issue with dreamweaver?

  • Aperture help not working - getting JavaScript error message

My Aperture 3 has been having a lot of strange issues lately, most, but not all of which have been cleared up by holding down command + option while starting up and going through all three of the choices there.
One problem that remains is the inability to open the Help files. I keep getting the following message:
    “The Help Library requires JavaScript.
If JavaScript is not enabled, you will not
be able to view all the content.”
Help works in all other applications, like Pages and Final Cut Pro. I don’t get JavaScript error messages in any other applications.
I’ve already done an erase and restore from a Time Machine backup, and an archive and install. I reinstalled Aperture, although not by using the Terminal command suggested in the kbase article # HT3805.
If I go the Terminal command route, will I lose all my projects, albums, and editing? What about Mobile Me galleries?
I have a guest user on the computer, and when I log on to that user and open Aperture, the Help Library works fine. So, I know the problem is in my user account somewhere, but I don’t know how to address it. Any ideas?

    Welcome to the forums.
The fact that you have access to java in another user suggests that it is a local setting or preference.
In the applications folder/utilities there is an application Java Preferences, try resetting this and seeing if it works.
If not, try deleting the java preferences file in your users folder
    systemHD/Users/user/Library/Preferences/com.apple.java.JavaPreferences.plist
relaunch the app Java Preferences which creates a new preferences file for you, then try Aperture again.
Let us know how this goes.

  • Resolve error in Firefox 7.0.1 - executing an auto log-on produces the following error message: XULRunner-Couldn't load XRE function?

Following an upgrade from Firefox 6.0.2 to Firefox 7.0, this error appeared in response to accessing Firefox! Executing an auto log-on produces the following error message: XULRunner-Couldn't load XRE functions.
Also, following an upgrade from V7.0 to V7.0.1, the same error occurs.
Following the In-place Upgrade from Vista Home Premium x64 to Win 7 HP x64, the RoboForm2Go taskbar is no longer on the program display page, rather it is confined to the bottom taskbar. This is likely due to a reported incompatibility between Roboform2Go and Firefox v7.0 (and 7.0.1).
Further, there was a failure of RoboForm2Go Log-ins from the bottom quick-start taskbar.

  • JavaScript Error Message using Angel Learning Software

After upgrading to the latest version of FF I receive a JavaScript error message when attempting to send an email via the Angel Learning educational portal. All the other operations in Angel appear to function normally at this time. Does anyone have any ideas as to what may be the issue and it if will be resolved or can be bypassed?
    Thanks!

Thank you. The JavaScript is enabled on my FF settings. The message I am receiving is:
    Script: http://angel.cascadia.edu/jscript/yahoo/utilities/utilities.js:9
So, perhaps I confused jscript with JavaScript by error? Either way, the link you forwarded said not to confuse the two...
"Please note that JavaScript is not Java and Jscript is not JavaScript!"
So, I clicked on the link to JScript which says that it is the same language as JavaScript and has a different name due to trademark issues. I have IE on my computer but never use it. Would you recommend that I uninstall IE? Please let me know if you have any other suggestions.
    Thanks!

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
*Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

  • Creating Library Item results in series of JavaScript error messages?

I've made two attempts to create library items from a page. One is a navigation bar and the other a side bar that has some lists and "non html code" in it.
In both cases as the library item was created I rec'd a series of alerts warning of JavaScript errors.
See attached images, which show just two of the error messages.
It appears that the library item is then created but if I insert it into another document I get more JavaScript error messages.
What do I do to avoid having this JavaScript problem?

    Michael
You may need to uninstall and then reinstall DW &
    Interakt. The issue that
you are probably running into is that Interakt changed some
    of the DW files
which worked until the DW 8.02 update came out, and rewrote
    those files. The
Interakt updater probably relies on finding the updated DW
    files.
When you preview a file DW creates a temporary version of it,
    and runs that,
and then deletes it. You can not reference these temporary
    versions in any
    other way.

  • JavaScript error message

In the middle of using Dreamweaver 8 today, I received
several error messages when trying to open and/or save a file:
    Message #1
    The following javascript error(s) occurred:
    At line 56 of File "C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Dreamweaver
    8\Configuration\Shared\Common\Scripts\dwscriptsExtData.js"
    ReferenceError: dwscripts is not defined.
    Message #2
While executing onLoad in_onOpen.htm the following JavaScript
    error(s) occurred:
    In file ""_onOpen"":
Reference Error: onOpen is not defined.
    Message #3
The following translators were not loaded due to errors:
ASP.htm: has configuration information that is invalid
ColdFusion.htm: has configuration information that is invalid
JSP.htm: has configuration information that is invalid
PHP_MySQL.htm: has configuration information that is invalid
XSLT.htm: has configuration information that is invalid
XSLTransform.htm: has configuration information that is
    invalid
Message #1 and #2 show up two times when trying to open a
file. Message #3 and then Messages #1 and 2 show when trying to
close a file after changes (it asks first "Save changes..." . . .
if I click on yes, then the error messages occur, but when they are
dismissed by clicking on OK, the file seems to be saved, because
the corrected file is uploaded when using FTP. If I try to save the
changed file by using File>Save As... nothing will happen.
I used the Remove Program function in Control Panel, and then
re-installed Dreamweaver 8 using my Studio 8 CD#1 and following the
Wizard prompts. The files still show in the "local sites: list and
I can open the files (albeit with the error messages above) and the
changed/edited files are still saved and FTP'd to my server. So
from the end-user view, all is OK. But... this is different this
afternoon from how it was working this morning.
Can anyone suggest how I should proceed to make it work
    without the error messages?
    TIA --
    Joyce

Have a read of this article:
    http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_19105
and if that doesn't help you can try this:
    Quit DW.
    Find this folder -
    C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application
    Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver
    8\Configuration\WinFileCache-*.dat
(these folders are normally hidden - you may have to use
    Explorer > Tools >
    Folder Options to unhide them)
Delete it. Restart DW and hopefully you're fixed.

  • Cs6 dreamweaver - javascript error with Clean up Word HTML . . .

Very recently upgraded to CS6 from CS5.5. Every now and then, I have to run the Clean up Word HTML Commands function for a client. Never had a problem before. This time, I got this message:
While executing onClick in Clean Up Word HTML.htm, the following JavaScript error(s) occurred:
At line 2012 of the "Macintosh HD:Applications:Adobe Dreamweaver CS6:Configuration:commans:Clean Up Word HTML.js"
The object is not currently contained in a document.
I searched through the Discussions and found refernce to deleting MacFileCache-###.dat file in the Library Configuration folder for Dreamweaver CS 6. Did that, same thing. It also mentioned deleted the entire Configuration folder. Same result.
I called tech support and was directed to go through the (count 'em) 14 steps on the Troubleshoot JavaScript page -- http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/troubleshoot-javascript-errors-dreamweaver-cs4.html. Still no luck.
Anyone else out there having this problem? What am I missing? Help!
    Thanks, Tim

    Hi SnakEyes02,
That could be. Let me know when you have grabbed these. They were Word docs that I saved the same way I always have done (Save As, Format: Web Page (.htm)), creating .htm files that work in CS5.5 Dreamweaver and earlier versions.

Normally, that type of problem is caused by a corrupt file
    cache, and
can be solved by following troubleshooting step 4 in the
    following technote:
    http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_19105
However, since it happened immediately after installation, it
    sounds as
though there might have been a problem with the installation.
    I can't
remember how installation of DW8 went on a Mac, but I think
    you needed
to use an installation program, rather than simply dragging
    DW into the
Applications folder. You certainly do with later Mac
    versions.

  • Lots of Dreamweaver JavaScript errors

I'm not sure what happened, but all of a sudden I am getting
constant Javascript errors in Dreamweaver. They appear at startup,
as well as when I try to do pretty much any action (saving,

Any idea what is going on or how I can fix this? I did update
Acrobat to the latest version this morning, but I don't know if
