Assemble PDF's located in Network folder

Hi,
I am trying to assemble PDF's which are located in a network folder..
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<DDX xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/DDX/1.0/">
     <PDF result="PDFA.pdf">
          <PDF source="\\w2msmossmgn02\SharedFolder\PID_APR_P111556.pdf"/>
          <PDF source="\\w2msmossmgn02\SharedFolder\PID_P111556.pdf"/>
     </PDF>
</DDX>
when the assembler service is invoked with the above DDX, i get an error as below,
com.adobe.internal.ddxm.DDXMException: com.adobe.internal.pdfm.CollateralNotFoundException:
DDXM_S14017: A <PDF> source document is required, but no documents were found for {PDF source="\\w2msmossmgn02\SharedFolder\PID_APR_P111556.pdf" baseDocument="true"}.
I have also tried giving the files names as specified in the DDXREF help file as below,
file:///dir-path/filename  (file:///w2msmossmgn02/SharedFolder/PID_APR_P111556.pdf) but it didn't work either.
Can some one pls help?
Thank you,
Sandeep.

There are two options that I can see:
1 - map a drive (on the server) to the w2msmossmgn02\SharedFolder and use that mapping in the source.  For example:  If I may drive X to w2msmossmgn02\SharedFolder then my DDX would have the entry:  <PDF source="file:///x:/PID_P111556.pdf"/>
2 - Use the "Read Document" operation to read the PDFs into a variable (or a list of document)  then use the "Invoke DDX" operation to map the variables to the PDF source entries.

  • When trying to open a pdf from a shared network folder I get an error

    hello,
When trying to open a pdf from a shared network folder I get the error: 'there was an error opening this document the document cannot be found'. The share is on a Windows 7 machine and sharing to a OS X 10.7 Machine. Permisson has been given on the share for 'Everyone' read and Write, and is mapped to the 10.7 machine through the 'Connect to Server' in finder with login credentials.
    Can you help please?
    Kind regards,
    Chris

This is in Internet Explorer 6 (yes, horrible, I know), but we use a standardized image where I work, with pretty intense GPO's.
Don't know what happens if you right-click the link; but from any other machine (with the same image) the same link will open with all three options "Open", "Save", and "Cancel".  These are not freshly imaged machines, so some setting must of been changed along the way to make this happen on this user's computer.
Repaired Acrobat, but this resolved nothing.
Also checked in IE to make sure that Adobe was enabled under the Programs tab.
Also, the option to view a pdf within the browser is not turned on.
    Any other ideas?

  • How to automatically saved a pdf form into a network folder using a submit button

    Good evening to everyone,
I'm more than a beginner on adobe development reason why I would like to apologize first if my questions are dumbs. :-(
I would like to know if 'Adobe 9 Professional Extended' has the possibility to put some code into a submit button in order for the pdf form to be saved with a unique name and into a Network folder located into an Encryption Server where we handle our PII. Is it? Over the past two weeks I've been digging into the documentation but I'm unable to find something that will help me to accomplish our headquarters requirements.
If there is no possibility, is there any programming language that adobe accepts in order to configure a piece of code that will store the file into a network folder? Perhaps VB or C-SHARP?
Whatever feedback anyone can give, I deeply appreciate it.
    Thanks,

Thanks for the reply Mr. Chaney!
I do have more questions based on your recomendation.
From my understanding, JavaScript or FormCalc will be my only options, right? If that's the case, how can a scripting language (client server side) allow me to transfer automatic saved files into a Network folder within my company intranet? I downloaded the Scripting Basic manual and all the scenarios and code are client server side such as, changing background color, add effects to a button and so on.
I did find a command under FormCalc called "PUT" can I use this command to transfer a pdf file into a Virtual Directory folder? All the examples I saw were for XML files.
    Greetings,

  • Publish report as PDF to a network folder

I'll take a chance and post this query here. We have been using Discoverer for 9+ years, against Oracle Financials. Most of our users are not that computer savy, and would rather have the report in a simple PDF or HTML format, delivered to their network folder, that they can look at for their budget information. What tool should person use to accomplish this?

    Hi,
We can send reports in PDF format to a network folder using Interactive Reporting 9.3.1. Here is how I did it few months ago...
1.From your server, map the external drive to your server. \\rio.company.com\winserver\hypreports
    2. Have a Domain account, example 'Hyp system' in MS Active Directory just for this purpose. Note: This account should have 'write' privilege to the folder created on network drive.
On the server, Hyperion services have 'Log On As' type 'Local System'. Change 'Log On As' type to your domain account
    3.
    1) create a output directory 'ODTest' as physical resource with path \\rio.company.com\winserver\hypreports\
2)import the 'file as job' in Interactive Reporting
3)add a schedule with action 'Export' and choose the output directory
Let me know if you have any questions.
    regards,
    Usha

    Hi @Username57 ,
I understand that you are having issues setting up the network folder. I will certainly do my best to help you.
I have provided a document with the steps for setting up the scan to network folder.
Scan From the Control Panel (Including Scan to Email, to a PDF, and to a Network Folder) for HP Lase...
It is usually a issue with the Network Path for the network folder created.
Create a folder anywhere on the computer.
Right click the folder and left click properties, select the Sharing tab, click the Share button, select who you want to share the folder with or everyone. On the same Sharing tab copy the Network Path. (example \\envy1730\users \Envy\desktop\networkfolder
In the embedded web server for the printer go to the Scan tab, select network folder setup, paste in the path for the network folder. Go through the wizard.
If those steps don't work then follow steps 1, 2, 3, to resolve this issue to try and get the network folder and path.
Step one: Make sure that the computer user account is password protected.
1.Click the Windows icon, then click Control Panel.
2.Click User Accounts, then select the account you used to log into the computer.
3.Click Change your Windows password, then find the user account you used to log into the computer.
•If the user account is password protected, continue to the next step.
•If the user account is not password protected, click Create a password for your account to create a password, and then continue to the next step.
Step two: Define the network location
1.Click the Windows icon, then click Control Panel.
    2.Click Network and Sharing Center.
3.In the View your active networks section, click Public network under your network name. The Set Network Location window opens.
4.Select Home Network or Work Network, then click Close.
Step three: Make sure that the network sharing and discovery options are correct
1.Open the Network and Sharing Center window.
2.Click Choose homegroup and sharing options.
3.In the Share libraries and printers section, select Documents.
4.In the Other homegroup actions section, click Change advanced sharing settings.
5.In the Advanced sharing settings window, make sure that the following network options are turned on:
    •Network discovery
    •File sharing
•Public folder sharing (read and write access)
    •Password protected sharing
    6.Click Save changes.
7.Your computer network is now successfully set to complete the Scan and Fax to Network. Folder or Digital Fax to Network Folder Wizard.
One user on another post had to do the following:
There was a problem in the "advanced sharing settings window". They turned it off, the option which is after the 128 encryption, I mean the "password protected sharing".
Please let me know the outcome.
    Happy New Years!

  • Laser jet pro won't scan to network folder

I have just setup a Laserjet Pro 200 (MFP M276nw) and have it successfully printing from an iMac running Mavericks OS. I am also able to scan using the HP scanning utility. All of this is connected via my wireless network.
However, no matter what I try I am unable to scan directly into a network folder. I have setup file sharing and ensured it is enabled for SMB sharing. I have ensured that the computer account on the shared folder I have created has full read/write access. I have created the network folder via the printer' ews as per the HP instructions (the path being \\<my mac's IP address>\public) and made sure username and password are set correctly. When I test the network folder I get an "Unable to connect to network folder" message.
I have disabled the Mac's firewall and have ensured that the printer software and firmware are the most recent versions available (they weren't but I updated them). I have deleted the shares, disabled file sharing, rebooted and then re-enabled file sharing, re-created the shares and set them up again in the ews but still it doesn't work. I can ping the printer successfully from the Mac and as stated earlier, can print and scan using the HP scan utility.
I have rebooted the printer and also the router.
    Please help!

    Hi Aye_curumba,
I understand you can print and scan, but you are unable to scan to the network folder on the Mac. I can help you with this. It it is usually a issue with the path to the network folder.
Here are the steps below for setting up the network folder if you would like to try it.
You might have to contact Apple to get the registered user and password name.
I would ask them to help setup the network folder also.
    1. Create a new folder on your computer.
    2. Right click (CTRL+Left click if using the Mac keyboard) it and then select Get Info.
    3. Unlock the screen, set the everyones term as Read & Write, located under Sharing & Permissions..
    4. Enter System Preferences > Sharing and then select File Sharing from the left bar.
    5. Click the Options button, mark the Share files and folders using SMB (Windows) and click Done.
    6. Under Shared Folders, click the Plus sign and select the configured folder.
    7. Make sure that "Everyone" permissions are set to Read & Write under the Users list as well.
    8. You will see the IP Address listed at the top of that screen, take a note to configure it from the EWS page.
You should use the following path template:
    //IP-ADRESS/Shared-Folder-Name
Make sure to include your username and password while setting the network folder scan.
I have provided a document for the setup for scanning to a network folder.
How to Scan: From the Control Panel (Including Scan to Email, to a PDF, and to a Network Folder).
Select Scan to a network folder.
Let me know how you make out.
    Have a great day!
    Thank You.

  • Submit button to local/network folder

Goal: Place a Submit button on a PDF form that will save a copy of the entire form to a local/network folder.
Software: Windows 7, Adobe Acrobat X Pro
Per the Adobe Acrobat X Pro help files, it states that you can add a folder path in the URL field when adding a submit button.
    4. In the Submit Form Selections dialog box, do one of the following:
To collect form data on a server, type the location in the Enter a URL for this link. For example, http://www.[domain]/[folder]/[subfolder]/ for an Internet address or \\[server]\[folder]\[subfolder]\ for a location on a local network.
Issue: When using a folder path, for example "\\lfdemo\C\PDFsubmit\" the submission does not work, as it first gives me a prompt saying if I trust the site and after accepting, it throws
    Server Not Found
        http://\\lfdemo\c\pdfsubmission\/
I understand the issue at hand, having the http:// and not being able to locate a network folder, but I don't understand the solution. Has anyone had any success with the previous setup? I read a few other threads regarding setting up a javascript within the button with trust functions and folder level scripts but that's a bit beyond my level of comprehension.
I appreciate any feedback and help.

nevermind, I figured it out using http://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/how-save-pdf-acrobat-javascript

    Hi @brownierl,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that you are trying to setup the digital filing network folder for your HP Officejet pro 8610. I am happy to help!
I would recommend to go through this guide, Scan From the Control Panel (Including Scan to Email, to a PDF, and to a Network Folder) for HP Offi.... Select How to scan directly to a network folder (network connections only), when you get to Step two: Set up the Scan to Network Folder. Make sure to select Windows, and try each of the options available.

  • Save a pdf form and stored it in a Shared Network Folder

    Hey Guys,
Is there a way using ASPX and Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES2 to create a form and when the user clicks on the submit button to save a copy of the form and send it over to a Shared Network Folder?
I know adobe accepts JavaScript and FormCalc scripts only but if someone has done something similar to the scenario I explained I'll be deeply appreciate it if you can share some steps or at least show me the light so I can move a little bit further.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Just providing some information in addition to George's reply.
The PDF created by FormsCentral, assuming you are collecting responses online, is configured to enable extended features in Adobe Reader to allow respondents to save the form. To edit the PDF in Adobe Acrobat you must use the File > Save a Copy... menuitem to create a copy of the document that is not Reader-extended.
When you have finished editing the document you should remember to re-configure the PDF for fill-in and save within Adobe Reader.
    Regards,
    Brian

  • Shared network folder pdf

We update pdf files on a network drive on a daily basis early in the morning.  Some users leave  their pdf files opens which does not allow us to overwrite the file.  Is there a way to set the files so that the users opens the files as "read only" locally so that the network copy is not disturbed.  Can some security setting be set using the API's?
Has anyone else experienced this problem?  Can someone help?

If the network directory is mapped to SAP then use OPEN DATASET else you need to do FTP.

  • How to Provide File Path in MII 12 to access file located in Network Path

    Hi,
How can I locate a file which is placed Network Path?
Iam trying to access PDF file which is stored in Network Drive, I just want to open folder which contains all PDF files located in some Network Path on click of button.
I tried all possibilities like below:
    window.open("file
    \G:");
    window.open("
    SERVER-NAME
    Folder Name");
But Iam unable to Fix this.
Please Help me in this regard
    Regards,
    Padma

    Hi Rao,
this is less a MII than a browser or mapping problem.
You can access a local file in a browser like this:
    window.open('file:///c:/folder/file.txt');
However, in case of MII local means local to the MII server. So in the above example the file is located on the c driver of the MII server.
If you want to access files on a network drive, the folders to the files should be mapped on the MII server so you are able to address them like they were local files.
I haven't tried to address network folders directly, because we are running MII on Unix.

  • Using Shared Review via Network Folder on Windows server and PC and Mac users commenting

We are having initiation and connection problems on the Macs (running OS 10.6.4 Snow Leopard)  with Shared Reviews (from Acrobat 9) that are stored on a Windows 2008 Server connecting via SMB. I would be very interested to hear from anyone who is successfully:
    1) Initiating Shared Reviews from a Macintosh via "Automatically collect comments on my own internal server" and navigating to a folder (with full read/write permissions for all) on a Windows server. We cannot get Acrobat (via the automated SR set-up wizard) to verify the network folder location on the Macs so that a Mac user can initiate a Shared Review. On Windows (using Parallels or logging in to a PC directly), the same users have no problem initiating and accessing Shared Reviews.
    2) Accessing Shared Reviews on a network folder (set up on a Windows 2008 server) via a Mac running OSX 10.6.4 and Acrobat 9. All users have read/write access to the folder and can navigate to it via the server. They can save documents to the network folder and open other documents there as well. When they open a Shared Review-enabled PDF for commenting, they get the error message that Acrobat cannot connect to the server. Retry results in the same error message.
We use Shared Reviews extensively and have no problems with PC users accessing the files and Mac users accessing them via Windows (Parallels or on a PC). This is very frustrating so I would really appreciate any ideas, especially if anyone is actually doing Shared Reviews this way.
    Thanks.

Unfortunately, this is NOT fixed based on the testing I have done.
    1) I am still unable to connect to the network folder on a Windows server from the Mac to initiate a Shared Review In Acrobat version 9.4.6. Same error message as previous Unable to locate server. See screenshot:
    2) One of the Mac users (also upgraded to Acrobat 9.4.6) who was invited to participate in a Shared Review (initiated using Parallels/Windows) was initially able to open the file and Publish comments. However, after she did and closed the file, she was unable to reopen the same file, connect to the server and add comments. And no other Mac user could access the file after she added her first comments. We all got the error message "Unable to connect etc" See screenshot.
    3) I opened the same file in Parallels/Windows with no problem. However, the Mac user's comments were not there. I could add comments and publish in Windows.
    4) When I tried to access the Tracker from my Mac (review was initiated via Parallels), I got the error message File not Found when I tried to access the test review via my Mac (see screenshot).
Could you give me more information about the fix? I would also be happy to talk to you or send more details if that would help.
Our set up has not changed from the original information I sent (there may have been some Mac updates -- we are all on OS 10.6.8 but still Snow Leopard). Server has not changed.

    Hi skile88,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I understand you are unable to setup the scan to network.
I will be happy to help you.
I believe that this will provide a resolution to your issue. Thank you.

    Hi,
Did you find a solution to this?
We are running into the same problem where we need to open a file present on the application server (path /opt/webapps/applications/ISL/)
When we try this from the local machine it works (path D:/forms) however it does not work while trying to open it from the application server.
